Okay so this is a big ask, and I truly cannot say PLEASE AND THANK YOU hard enough for even considering answering this. I’m thinking about making a blog that goes through an entire bloodline. Starting with a bit more old times fantasy stuff, into modern day, and maybe heading into a more cyberpunk era.

I have a base but and ideas for characters that can fill in gaps but I do need some help and opinions, and sorry to say, you’re the best one for this. Sorry for how huge this is gonna get lol. Know that you have my eternal gratitude for even looking at this though.

Okay so for the main base I’m thinking Ram Charan, but I would like a fc that you think could work for a younger fc for him (early to mid 20s)

Up next in the line I just need general fc help. Character is a male about middle aged, and Indian. Very gruff and angry at what seems like the world, but kind deep down. Nearest thing I can liken him to would be the punisher from marvel.

Next up would be my modern muse. I was thinking Avan Jogia, but if you don’t think he’d fit the trend of the previous characters ethnicity wise, I am more than open to different suggestions.

Lastly is the character in a more futuristic type setting. I’d like a woman that very much has a cool biker girl vibe could literally be anywhere from like early 20s to mid 30s.

This got ENORMOUS, but your insight is invaluable when it comes to fc help, but if this is too much for you that’s fine too. Feel free to let me know either way. You do so much for us, and I cant say thank you enough.

Snippet Sunday

my snippets on Wed and Sun appear to be during into memory hour with Goose and Cooper *shrugs* It's what I got and I guess that just means I'm not spoiling the plot :)

I know a lot of folks have had a lot going on so I'm going to just generally tag The Coemancer Crew and anyone who might have a snippet of work that they wish to share. Pressure free invite for all :)

My snippet this week is in Goose's POV and contains references to plot from Starborn Saga that could be considered spoilers for that fic.

“Thanks for the assist back there,” Cooper said as he leaned against the wall, his hands fumbling with an militia battlemeal pack, looking exhausted from the hike to the facility and fights through the converted research facility.

“Anytime, Rodeo,” Goose leaned on the callsign in a teasing manner.

Cooper smirked as he flicked his glance to Goose briefly before popping some of his food into his mouth. As he chewed he wagged a finger at Goose and once he worked through the tough jerky like meat and swallowed he said, “could have been worse. Other names pitched were Icarus, Hawkeye, and Apollo.”

Others saw it too? Goose wondered as he felt his cheeks go warm. It was the third time since leaving the Key that talking with this hotshot lieutenant had made him go flush and he hated it. Why couldn’t he handle working with this guy like all the other Freestar that came to the Key? “At least one of those sounds cursed.”

“Yeah, our CO agreed with you,” Cooper laughed, “he scrapped Icarus before they even voted. I personally vetoed Apollo and he backed me up. I couldn’t carry that reminder, flying my dad’s ship was enough.”

“Your dad was a pilot too?” Goose asked.

Cooper nodded while he tapped the remainder of the freeze dried food into his mouth, chewing thoroughly before answering, “His call sign was Zeus. He led a squad known as the Olympians and piloted the Stormherald until the UC decided to hit the Valo system. He sent the ship home and worked from a battleship called the FC Olympus. Command thought they were cute, I suppose.”

Goose stared slack jawed as Cooper went on, his mind rushing back to Palvo. Suddenly he was 12 again, being dragged onto a shuttle by a woman in the militia the others called Demeter. She’d told him the shuttle would take him to the Olympus and from there to the Cheyenne system but as the shuttle closed in on the battleship it was bombarded by one of the UC battleships in the system and their pilot was forced to grav jump away, taking everyone to the Kryx system to shake the sharks. The FC Olympus was shot down over Palvo, pock marking the surface with wreckage.

Cooper went on, either not noticing Goose’s shock or ignoring it, “Apollo was pitched as a way of honoring my old man, Apollo was Zeus’s son after all, but I couldn’t bear that weight. Plus it felt disrespectful to the Apollo who died on Palvo with the others. Those callsigns should be retired. Command hasn’t because they say if they retired every callsign of a dead pilot or operative they’d eventually run out of options but it just felt wrong.”

“I agree,” Goose said softly, collecting his thoughts, “that team are heroes to scores of survivors and the Militia should honor their memory more than it has. Maybe they wouldn’t have struggled for so long with recruitment and morale if they did more to remember the sacrifices soldier’s have made.”

“You’ll get no argument from me there,” Cooper tucked his empty tin back into his pack, “it shouldn’t have taken Commander Shepard dying on Akila for leadership to finally wake up to what needed to happen for our systems to have a chance. And that they capitalized on it for recruiting purposes felt dirty. Every time I met a fresh recruit saying they signed on after hearing about all that…” he let out a heavy sigh.

Goose closed his eyes and turned away, not wanting the handsome hotshot to see him upset as he fought to collect himself. He could hear Fury’s screams, the roar of the terrormorph. He could smell the foul monster and the copper tinged scent of blood. Feel the burning pain of the claw puncture and the ache in his muscles from being thrown. He needed a distraction, anything to pull him away from that nightmare, “Why Rodeo, though? Or Hawkeye for that matter?”

“Hawkeye was because I had the best marksmanship scores of the squad and could hit a pinpoint target in flight simulations. It wasn’t popular with the squad though. Rodeo was my CO’s idea. Something about me being able to handle the roughest rides and tame the wildest of situations. And the fact that I kept finding myself in those wild situations to begin with,” Cooper shrugged, “working with me is like watching a rodeo, he said.”

“I can see that,” Goose cracked a smile and looked back to the pilot, “certainly handled yourself well when those reinforcements poured in.”

“Only ‘cause I had help,” Cooper tipped an invisible adventurer’s hat at Goose and winked.

Knock it off, Goose thought as his cheeks, neck, and ears heated up.

“Why Goose?” Cooper asked, “doesn’t seem very pirate-y.”

“My ma used to call me Goose,” he rubbed the back of his neck and looked away, “when the shuttle I was on docked with the Key all those years ago all us kids were told to not use our real names. Our stay was supposed to be temporary and they didn’t want any crews hunting us down. When we didn’t leave I just kept using it.”

“And what’s your name name?” Cooper asked, “Or am I overreaching?”

“Eh,” Goose shrugged, “not overreaching but I don’t know you well enough to share. My given name is for family.”

Cooper smiled, “That’s fair.”

Um… OF COURSE I WILL!! Thank you for asking!!

First and foremost, we have my girl, Cordelia Grey (fc is Naomi Scott). Cord is a Muggle whose Aunt Andrea (her father’s sister) is a witch. For the first ten years of her life, she happily lived with her parents, having no clue that everything was going to change on her eleventh birthday.

That day, she was hanging with her aunt, waiting for her parents to join them when they get the news that they were killed in a car accident. It was also around that time that McGonagall came to give Cord her letter and help Drea explain that she was a witch.

Cord fell into a depression that day and didn’t get out of it until her aunt took her to Diagon Alley and she met one Harry Potter at Ollivander’s. While waiting to get their wands, the two of them started talking and it came up about both of them losing their parents and them never learning about the Wizarding World until now.

Later on, it comes up that Drea knew James and Lily (James thought of Drea as a younger sister and was VERY protective over her), and Harry and Hagrid join the girls for dinner where Drea tells them so many stories about them. It was the first time Harry ever felt that he had a family.

Fast forward to September 11th: they arrive at Hogwarts and are being sorted into their Houses. When Cord’s name is called, she quietly walks up to the stool and sits down. Once the Sorting Hat is put on top of her head, the two of them proceed to have a lengthy conversation. Slytherin comes up when Cord asks why everyone seems to hate it so much. The Hat gave her a condensed version of its background, leading Cord to ask if The Hat thought Slytherin was bad. To make a long story short, their conversation helped Cord to cement her decision.

The Sorting Hat announced SLYTHERIN, and everyone just fell dead silent (yep, Cord decided she was going to be a Slytherin because she knew she had a lot of the qualities the House prizes, but also she decided that it would be her mission to show everyone that not all Slytherins are evil).

So, first year was a bit hard to say the least for Cord. Harry wasn’t speaking to her, and a lot of the Slytherins were being mean (not that Cord wasn’t used to it; when she was younger, she was bullied quite a bit). However, it started looking up when she befriended Tracy Davis after the Sorting, and this is also when she met her future gf, Cheyenne, a Ravenclaw. They bumped into each other when Cord got lost trying to find the Charms classroom and became friends.

Further out in the year, Daphne Greengrass joins Cord and Tracy’s duo, and the trio later on become known as the Antimony Trio.

Third year, Drea becomes the new Muggle Studies professor and everyone LOVES her (with the exception of some Slytherins). When she was at Hogwarts, Drea was a Hufflepuff. She was a couple years younger than the Marauders, but Remus started tutoring her in DADA during her first year and became like another older brother to her. So did James once he started tutoring her in Transfiguration. Sirius became interested in her later on after hearing James rave on and on about her (“Pure ray of sunshine Padfoot, must protect at all costs!), but she wasn’t interested and basically, they are a LONG ASS slowburn.

Cheyenne’s fc is Amber Midthunder, and Drea’s fc is Billie Piper.

Esperanza came to be because I wanted an older character who had their life together, for the most part. As opposed to most of my other characters.. in constant chaos. Espie had to have already gone through and come out on the other side of the toughest parts of her life. In came her backstory. Divorced, single mom of four. With that, she had to be a local, around family for support. A decade removed from that time, she had since built her life back up, happily enjoying her fourties thus far.

I had had this idea for a few weeks without selecting an FC, until I randomly thought of JoAnna (we all loved Cheyenne right??) and realized that she was in fact in her fourties now, a perfect FC. Then binge watched Sweet Magnolias, pulling small bits of inspo from Maddie. Mostly the headbands. Actually, definitely the headbands. JoAnna is also Cuban, meaning that I get to talk all I want about my love of fried plantains through Espie! Look, she’s who I relate to most ethnically so I will talk all about tropical fruit and the struggles of being bilingual through her. She’s my outlet! Relating on that cultural background also played a role in developing her family. To me, it only made sense that she, the responsible independent oldest daughter, would have at least a few siblings, making for a larger extended family. Being the ray of sunshine that she has always been, Espie grew up in a loving and nurturing home, one which would take in the neighborhood kids whether for a meal or place to stay. It was what taught her to be the kind and generous person she grew up to be.

Additional inspiration for Espie just came from the people in my life in their early 40s, women who had been divorced after stay at home mom-hood and had to start over from nothing. I’ve watched them get a chance to simply enjoy life now as their kids grow up, and have mirrored that experience in Espie’s life. Where Espie pulls from my own personality, would be her interests. I love art, and while I absolutely suck, find pottery classes to be so fun! So I made that her little special hobby. She also loves plants and gardening which, as much as I’m not very outdoorsy, I grew up doing and felt fit Espie personality wise. Living in a coastal town, Espie is one of a few characters who borrows her love of the beach and lake from me as well.

And because I cannot be completely without a little bit of drama, I convinced Katie that Espie would fit the bill for Josh’s on and off girlfriend connection. Then we made it worse by making it span over nearly 30 years. I mean, we’ve all gone back to an ex, right? Maybe just not one from twenty years prior.. Over the course of a near decade.. Originally, the idea was exactly that; comfortable, on-again off-again, for the fun and potential drama of it all. She’s done the whole marriage and kids thing, she’s not looking for that again. Then they started being all cute and shit! Now here she is dressing up his poor dog for holidays and he’s treating the kids that she doesn’t make him play stepdad to. LMAO, IT JUST WORKS! Clearly Katie and I enjoy complicated family dynamics and I wouldn’t have it any other way <3

Espie is just pure love and joy, kindness and generosity. When many characters have had tough stories and traumas, Espie is that calm for both myself and anyone who interacts with her to gain even just a moment of peace from.

Hi! I'm sorry if this is a bit of a strange question, but can you think of any alternate FCs for Ethel Cain/Hayden Anhedonia? I would love to use her for this one character, but the group doesn't allow musicians who have no acting credits (and she doesn't have resources yet, but that's not as important).
