At last I found myself a creative moment in the studio yesterday to sort through lots of lost treasures and broken artefacts. I was also able to design these salvaged jewelry and upcycled earrings in pretty teal and orange sunset colours. I love these puffy Cloisonné enamel disc beads which feature the ancient Chinese symbol of Longevity. They pair well with the two glass flower molded carriage clock decorations that I found in a box of large clock parts. I gave them a tint of turquoise and gold alcohol inks to bring out the textures. At the base are some pretty mother of pearl carved flowers with pink coral beads and Czech glass leaf. An olive branch of hope to many in difficult times, it denotes peace on earth and good fortune. Dragons can bring rain to parched ground, representing abundance and relief. 😊 The Phoenix, also known as the ‘ king of birds’, symbolising good fortune, opportunity, peace and virtue in Chinese mythology. It’s a benevolent creature because it doesn’t harm any insects and each of its body parts is meant to represent a virtue – sincerity, righteousness, propriety, knowledge and benevolence. So, it feels right to make these incredible creatures and their stories centre stage. 😊 #chinesesymbolism #chinoiserie #dragon #phoenix #designerrugs #floordecor #luxuryrugs #wendymorrisondesign #handmaderugs #handknottedrugs #chinoiseriedecor #luxurydecor #eclecticdecor (at Edinburgh, United Kingdom) https://www.instagram.com/p/CJqIxGsFYO1/?igshid=titjaq7xhq4y
Cranes are mythical birds just like the phoenix.
The turtle placed under the crane, is one of the four celestial animals and in the practice of Feng Sui is as important as the dragon.
The stamps represent the whooping crane in pairs, in flight as well as crane heads. They were issued by China in 1986, are new and therefore vintage; they are multicolored on gold.
The composition that is offered to you, adorned with protected stamps as always, took up the theme of whooping cranes, incorporating a common crane and a royal crane.
In addition a sculpture of a crane on a turtle has been added, with their name in Chinese; it is reproduced to end up head to tail with the first. This underlines the strong symbolism in China.
This creation is a unique piece like everything I create and it is a gift idea for lovers of art and wading birds,
and for philatelists, because they will not have this SINGLE copy.
The print was made on high quality glossy photo paper: 280 gsm.
You can keep this montage in a plastic sleeve (provided), and collect it in a filing cabinet. Another solution, put it in a frame to decorate your interior.
Thus it can serve as decoration in an entrance, a living room, a library, a dining room or a bedroom. It will be a reasonably priced work of art that you can give as a gift, whether you are a collector or not.
An example of a frame is offered in the last view: it is a Duduma wooden frame and blue in color with grain.
Please note, this frame is not provided.
