After what happened in this recent Gavv episode I want to draw so bad but I have to lock in for finals so I’ll just share some notes I took on the doomed ship instead to cope

(Spoilers for Episode 15)

After reading a book titled “Gift of the Magi” Shouma is inspired to give a gift of his own to someone he cares about as he learned it isn’t the physical item given that matters as Sachika explained

He first asks if Sachika wants anything but she denies the offer and instead recommends Shouma give something to Hanto as she’s seen they’ve been getting along

Also, this book becomes a reference to Shouma and Hanto’s relationship throughout this episode and the next it seems and it’s about a married couple who give something up in exchange for the other person only for it to not matter in the end

So they’re literally being compared to lovers which is kind of crazy

When working at a Christmas raffle, Hanto bumps into Shouma accidentally

Sachika hints that this is Shouma’s chance to give a gift so Shouma gives Hanto a Gochizo and encourages him to use it

However, Shouma feels as though it’s just a normal gift and not enough to show how much he cares about Hanto

As the raffle starts to get busy, Sachika requests that Hanto help out so Shouma drags him into it causing them both to wear a reindeer onesie

While Shouma seems to be enjoying himself, Hanto is not having it but he still helps them out nonetheless

After the crowd dies down, Hanto takes it as his sign to go finally but Shouma stops him asking him to stay longer

Hanto says he’s busy before lightly pushing Shouma away and Sachika points out that Shouma is plotting something which confuses Hanto, who is unaware of Shouma’s gift-giving attempt

Shouma and Hanto then argue for the possibility that Granutes may be good and that higher-ups are forcing them to kidnap people

Shouma really wants to believe that there are Granutes who are capable of giving up on dark treats and not harming humanity because he himself is a Granute

However, Hanto is not as optimistic and thinks it’s impossible for Granutes ever to be redeemed

So Shouma asks Hanto if there was a Granute unrelated to the dark treats, would he trust them

Unfortunately, Hanto says no and declares that he’ll eradicate ALL Granutes which in turn receives a sullen reaction from Shouma 

After rejecting Sachika’s Christmas party invitation, Hanto leaves

Sachika notices the dismal atmosphere of the room and asks if something has happened causing Shouma to sit down in silence

Then it cuts to a shot of the book from earlier in the episode further implying that it’s somehow related to Shouma and Hanto’s relationship

After listening to the Gavv soundtrack the song used here was titled “Source of Happiness” but the title is so deceiving cause it’s one of the sadder songs of the soundtrack and that messed me up a bit.

This was not casual

I will not get over this scene
