‘The Freshman Series is the absolute proof that Pixerberry can do romantic books with a proper and interesting background story, multiple LIs, and take huge profit from it. Also it proves PB simply isn’t taking the effort anymore when pushing us those smut shallow books. Funny thing that it’s one of their very first books and helped popularize the app lol’

So The Freshman has really shown its age as a series, yet the drama is somehow more authentic than most of the modern drama books.
I miss getting into actual arguments with the love interests. Nowadays, the arguments are forced and usually for stupid reasons, but in The Freshman+ series, the arguments were very real and had very real consequences.
Like, you could break up with your love interests several times throughout the series actually. But modern series force you to stick with the forced single love interest no matter how toxic their relationship with the main character is.
Old Choices hit different.

i blame choices for giving me unrealistic expectations of college. what do you mean i’m not going to become instantly besties with my 6 roommates who all have wildly different personalities/belong to different social circles and also meet the love of my life and also have a fun impactful experience where i’m not stressed out all the time

here is my character sheet for my freshman series mc!!
notes below :-)
HERE IT IS FOLKS........ THE ORIGIN OF THIS BLOGS PFP: LOBERT DE NIRO KUSAMA. i miss that lil guy everyday. my baby. my angel. my special fella. numero uno playchoices pet of all time. campeão do mundo. i will always remember you. fly high brother.
valerie's surname is inspired by the artist yayoi kusama :-)
her hometown is implied to be on the east coast since hartfeld u is also on the east coast and i think i remember reading that she drives from her house to hartfeld?? so i gave her the hometown of my supervisor from when i worked at [redacted federal institution] lol. (i just remember the name of that town cause my supervisor would sometimes call me from their personal phone instead of their office phone for some reason and i would forget it was them and see that random town name on my phone and think it was spam and ignore the call and they would be confused that i didnt pick up HAHAHA)
once again as was the case with ajay i did not feel that strongly about james, i just wanted to romance him to collect all his character interactions so i could observe his playwrightism. as a theatre artist myself, my final verdict is: he was not nearly annoying enough to be a playwright. i say give him a few freytag pyramid worksheets and a copy of elinor fuchs' "visit to a small planet" and wait until hes trying to mansplain samuel beckett to a drunk girl at a party

I finally finished The Freshman Series. And this is definitely the best character of the entire series.
I wish we had more time with her. Maybe she sounded like a great character exactly because we had little time with her or already knew the long-term impact she had on Vasquez by virtue of interacting with his older version, but this was honestly one of the best breakup scenes I’ve read, and done for all the good reasons.
No one should be the crutches of other people happiness.

Last month, I commissioned Kaido Masuhiro on Twitter fanart of Zig Ortega practicing ballet. Since I've never seen any fanart of Zig doing ballet, I might as well commission one, and the result is lovely.
