Sure, Caleb may not be good at music, but I like to think he's a little artsy in his own way and doodles while Ezra practices new music.

HSS Christmas HCs
10PM on Christmas day itself. Cutting it a bit close lol.
Hey. Had some cute ideas so jotted them down. Not proofread, random dribbling, but I hope it brings a little festive joy 😊
The order, because I know y'all have your favorites:
Emma (Luis mention)
Caleb (Ezra mention)
Maria
Aiden (and Myra)
Michael
My MC Finley
Emma has a quiet Christmas with her mom, sharing homemade mulled wine while catching up on the trashy TV her mom never has time for, between working.
They watch Love Island, a tacky British reality show, and they mock the British accent back and forth. “I GOT A TEEEEXT!” Emma would yell every time her phone pinged, and she was startled by her mom screaming it at the top of her lungs a few hours later.
She and Luis text throughout the day, Luis sharing silly snapshots of the chaos that ensues when the whole family is crammed into his small house. Her heart flutters when he shares goofy selfies with his kiddy cousins.
Once a little tipsy, Emma and Julia switch the TV off and switch to their radio, dancing together around the coffee table of snacks. Julia teaches her some ballet moves she'd picked up from classes when she was very young. Emma felt like a princess, just as she deserves, spinning elegantly with her silver dress swirling around her.
She shares a classy selfie on the group chat of her and her mom tipping their wine glasses towards the camera, smiles broad and genuine, matching sparkly tiaras and true happiness.
Caleb’s parents have a huge party at theirs: friends, family, family friends - they're popular, too, so there's probably about 100 of them sprawled across the mansion. They have a giant spread of party food. Down with the traditional, boring roast!
The day is lovely but exhausting. Caleb’s mom followed his grandma's stuffing recipe to a T, and the result had them all smiling and mentioning memories of her. Just a few tears, and then it was on to games. In front of the fireplace for charades, a corner for snap with the kids, two tables of boardgames. Caleb drifts between them, making sure to spend time with every single person.
He drifts to the kitchen to pour himself another glass of pop when Ezra comes around the corner, a small, coy smile as he holds up two switch controllers. “Too tired for Mario Kart with your bro?”
Caleb grins broadly and follows his brother upstairs, hiding away in Ezra's bedroom as the battle valiantly. It's a tight match, and by the 12 and final race of the tournament, they're 6-5 to Ezra. Caleb pulls it back, ending them on a draw, which he'll take any day against such a worthy opponent.
Caleb takes a photo of Ezra's game face for the group chat, Rainbow Road on show in the corner, captioned “now THIS is what Christmas is all about”
Maria and her dads celebrate a traditional Christmas, just them in a private corner of a VERY high-class restaurant. Fancy suits for the men and a gorgeous flowing gown of pale blue and white for Maria. Quiet conversation and laughter passes between them.
When the conversation dies down - not that it's awkward, not at all - Maria pops up with a completely random question. A trick she learned from you. She learns so much about her fathers through this - like the heist they pulled in high school to steal a teacher’s laser pointer they used to shine in sleepy faces.
As the evening winds down, and after they've taken enough pictures together, they head home and curl up on the couch in matching festive pajamas to watch festive specials of game shows and shout answers at the screen.
After that, it's movie time, and Maria's eyes start drooping as her dads recite the words to Elf perfectly. To stop herself from falling asleep, she responds to each and every message in their group chat meticulously, commenting on how cute and festive everyone looks.
Her photo to the group chat is her and her fathers’s feet, propped up in a footstool, in matching Christmas slipper-socks, the fireplace and twinkling fairy lights and Elf blurry in the background.
Aiden's family also have a traditional Christmas, a home cooked roast for lunch where they all dress properly and dine with quiet classical music in the background. It's something Aiden used to enjoy as a kid, feeling so respected by his parents, but the older he gets the more he sees what he's missing out on. He's a little quieter this year.
That changes once Myra and her family turn up, alongside a couple other Asian-American families they've gotten close with other the years. They have a giant potluck of dishes spanning the continent their family came from in a colourful array that brings Aiden a lot more joy than the bland beiges of America.
He and Myra sneak off to his room with a bottle of gin to chat shit about the friend group - but, rather than chatting shit, Myra squeaks and shows Aiden every message that comes in, and he just chuckles and says he can see the messages on his phone as well. After an interaction between Finley and Michael that leaves Myra squealing, she asks if he will ever get flirting with someone. He shrugs and says he's waiting for the right person, which makes Myra roll her eyes, but she doesn't push him.
After a few drinks, they head downstairs to mingle again, avoiding uncomfortably heteronormative and invasive questions about when they'll finally settle down, as if they aren't 16 year olds. It's a little awkward, but they're used to it by now, gliding through practised sets of phrases and dodging questions about their friend choices.
Aiden and Myra head to the garden for a breath of fresh air, and it starts snowing. Myra, obviously, is ecstatic, and she runs up to Aiden with her camera open on her phone to send a photo to the group chat of them smiling, snow in their hair, captioned “hope your Christmases are gayer than ours!”
Michael is the only one who leaves the state for Christmas. His family are from New York, with him, his parents, and older sister being the only ones to have moved away. It's a gruelling 5 hour flight, but his two closest cousins scream into his shoulders as they both squeeze him in a hug.
Christmas is always a tough time for Michael. Closeted queerness, anorexia, high high high expectations that he repeatedly fails to meet. He's repeatedly asked if he's staying out of crime, out of violence, out of trouble, and it feels like they don't actually care and just want to remind him of his past.
His cousins, however, Emily and TJ, make sure he's comfortable. So much so, in fact, that after dinner, when they're hanging out in his room and getting ready to go to the skatepark (tradition, of course), he comes out. It kind of happens accidentally; TJ notices a bunch of sappy messages sent by ‘Fin’, so he asks. Michael gets a little flustered, but settles when he looks at his cousins. These kids had to raise themselves, together. “My boyfriend,” he says, plain and simple, smirking a little. Then he panics. “Don't tell anyone!”
Emily laughs and claps his back. “No worries, Mikey. Fellow queer.” “Really?” TJ rolls his eyes like it's old news. Maybe it is. He hasn't been there for a year. “Yes, really. Now hurry up. I wanna smoke.” TJ responds.
Michael sends a short video to the group chat of him skating around a heavily graffitied collection of concrete ramps with a spliff hanging out of his grinning lips.
Finley and Scott have a quiet Christmas, and even that has to wait until Scott gets home from work. He feels a little lonely, especially with his boyfriend on the other side of the country, but he wakes up, shrugs it off and gets to baking.
He is an avid baker, usually a stress baker, but this time it soothes his anxiety and gives him something to think about other than his mom. Their lavish parties, the presents, the meal. The hugs. The love. Nope, not thinking about it, he reminds himself as he stirs a brownie batter furiously.
The texts from Michael throughout the day fill him with warmth, despite his unheated home. He finds himself smiling at the screen at everything he says. Even the sadder parts, like how hard the big meal was, because even then it meant Michael was opening up to him. Then, Michael tells him he came out to his cousins. Then, he sends a selfie from the skatepark. “God, you're gorgeous”, Fin replies, met by eye rolling emojis.
He also checks in with the others, of course, rejects a couple of invitations for lunch and instead starts boiling the kettle for some instant ramen in the kitchen while the brownies bake. Emma drops him a call, reminding him of a group gift left for him in the fridge. He opens it to find a full Christmas dinner that each of them had helped to prepare. There's a card signed by all of them as well, with Michael's passage being the longest. He tears up a little and microwaves the meal, then dishes it up nicely for himself.
He takes a selfie, leaning back in the kitchen seat with the camera upside down and the meal and freshly baked brownies in frame on the table. He sticks his tongue out with a grin and says “hap hols hoes”.
Happy Christmas y'all, hope you had a good one ❤️

Caleb and Erica are one of my favorite couples in the High School Story series. They are so cute together. I really enjoyed their market place date and I like how they match the cheerleader/football player couple aesthetic!

Thin Ice
Tumblr media
Book: High School Story
Characters: Jonah Leighton (HSS MC), Caleb Mitchell (very minor: Maria Flores, Aiden Zhou)
Relationships: M!HSS MC x Caleb Mitchell (romantic)
Rating: General Audiences
Word Count: 765
Summary: Jonah and Caleb go ice skating together, it's a shame neither knows what they're doing though.
Warnings: Brief mention of decapitation (don't question it, the characters are just joking)
“You can't ice skate?” Jonah asked Caleb with his mouth hung open. “You invited me here and you can't even skate!”
“I wanted to impress you. I was trying to learn.” Caleb attempted to explain, while covering his face in shame. “My brother isn't a very good teacher though.”
Jonah sighed, but began to cackle a few moments later. “We're so screwed. I can't skate either.” Caleb looked up with a look in his eyes which could only be described as pure horror. “I guess we'll have to learn together.”
“Fine, but only because Ezra's going back to college in two days, I can't handle persistent bullying any longer than that.”
Jonah rolled his eyes with a smile on his face. “Don't be a drama queen, let me tie your laces.” He reached down to lift Caleb's foot onto the bench.
Caleb stands up first, wobbling on his ice skates, before reaching a hand out for Jonah, who wobbles just as much. “Are you excited?”
“Absolutely not, walking like this is like hell on my poor, poor ankles.” Jonah wailed dramatically, seconds away from pretending to faint before Caleb began stumbling towards the ice rink, dragging Jonah along with him.
Jonah ended up having to almost catch Caleb as soon as he stepped foot on the ice, which was easier said than done, considering he very nearly brought Jonah down with him.
“Let's maybe avoid falling on each other while we have knives on our feet, okay?” Jonah giggled, gripping the wall of the ice rink while helping Caleb stand back up.
“I think we should stick to the wall for now.” Caleb took a deep breath and switched his grip on Jonah's arms to grip the wall just as strongly. “One step at a time.”
“I don't think you're supposed to step with these.” Jonah kept his eyes on his feet as he scooted one forward, only for him to massively glide off-course and have to catch himself on Caleb.
It was a good job they'd chosen to come at a less busy time, the only people on the rink yet were a few others with the same idea of coming at a less busy time, as well as some more experienced skaters here to practise, and we're too engrossed in their own business. Less people to embarrass themselves in front of.
“Maria said they'd all be here at eight. We have half an hour to get this nailed down.” Caleb nodded to himself, interlocking his and Jonah's arms. “Let's try it like a three-legged race.”
The two began to attempt to move in sync, routinely having to pull the other back on course, but they lasted long enough, before Caleb slid out of control, landing flat on his back and dragging Jonah along with him.
“Oof.” Caleb groaned, as he gently shoved Jonah off his chest. “That winded me.”
Jonah sat up beside Caleb, who was still laying with his head back. “Do you think we can just sit here until everyone else gets here?”
“Not unless you want someone to speed over and decapitate me with their knife-shoes.” He reached out for Jonah's hand but made no move to stand up.
“If I wanted you decapitated with an ice skate, I could do it myself.” Jonah punctuated his sentence with a kiss to Caleb's palm. “Now get up, this ice is cold as hell.”
“Fine, but only if you kiss me again.” Caleb insisted with a smile, as the two stood up together once again, shaking on their way. Once they were comfortably stable again, Jonah pressed a soft kiss to Caleb's cheek, before kissing him more deeply on the mouth.
“Ahem,” someone coughed from behind Caleb. The pair took a look over his shoulder to see Maria with her eyebrow raised, along with their gaggle of friends standing behind her, all behind the half-wall of the ice rink.
“That was so painful to watch.” Aiden groaned, clearly finding it difficult to even look at the pair in shame. “I got here early, too, you two owe me an apology.”
“Like you can skate any better. Anyone in band knows you have zero physical rhythm.” Jonah retorted, leaning against the wall.”
“Just because I can't dance doesn't mean I can't skate.” Aiden rolled his eyes. “It's just like walking.”
“That's what I said!” Caleb yelped indignantly at Jonah. “And you disagreed.”
“Well now I disagree with both of you.” Jonah grinned, but reached for Caleb's hand once again, just for good measure. “You know I love you, though. Aiden, not so much.”

I used to think the day was ruined when the clouds came Until I saw you standing in the rain I used to think the world was always out to get me Until I saw you standing in my way I say that you're the one, too late to take it back I thought of a million ways to tell this to you but I just couldn't wait for that You say that I'm the one, too late to take it back So why'd you take it back? Clouds are gone, the skies are blue No other moment lasts as long as a moment with you And every song I wrote for you Every note and every strum was a moment of truth And now you're gone, gone so soon But the skies still blue Yeah the skies still blue I guess I know why they call it fall in love, 'cause you cannot fall forever Gravity catching up to me, the ground surrounds me, falling headfirst Waking up hoping it's all a dream, reaching over but it's all just sheets Hoping every time I fall asleep I might just see you again I know I'm heartless, that's 'cause you broke it, a typical story of someone in love Picking pieces off the carpet, don't wanna deal with it, swept it right under the rug I put the pieces together, the weather has never been better, the clouds are gone One door opens, another closes 'cause Now you're gone, gone so soon But the skies still blue Yeah the skies still blue If time is what I need, I've had enough It's been too long for me without your love, yeah But the skies still blue Yeah the skies still blue Yeah the skies still blue Clouds are gone The skies are blue

HSS Family HCs
Saw someone complain that there weren't great back stories for the characters's family lives, and they are SO RIGHT >:( So here you go!
Warnings, it gets real angsty.
Caleb
Caleb's family is H U G E
Which means giant and exhausting family gatherings and way too many dates to remember.
Auntie Anna and Uncle John's anniversary? No clue. Grandpa T’s birthday? Fuck knows. Ezra's next gig? Shit, should probably memorise that one…
(ADHD does not help)
Losing his grandma was really tough on family dynamics.
His mom hopped on the bandwagon with blaming one of her brothers for not taking care of her as much as he should have, as the legal carer.
The funeral was one of the hardest things Caleb had to go through.
Everyone drifted apart a bit, until Caleb finally convinced his mom finally reached out to invite them over for Christmas, like old times. He knows that's what his grandma would have wanted.
After that, they were reunited, and have been inseparable since.
Which means more dates to remember, but that's okay, because everyone is happy again.
He and Ezra get along extraordinarily, always joking at the table (which his parents don't love), playing pranks on each other, and competing like their lives depend on it on Super Smash Bros, Mario Kart, and Mario Party.
They get together in Ezra's room at least once a month to catch up on gossip (Ezra is very keen to hear Caleb's opinion on the new kid). They throw on a movie and chat over it the entire time (unless there's some really bad acting or visual effects).
Ezra can be a little pushy for personal details during these hangouts, but Caleb has learned to trust his brother, or lie.
He loves his mom and she loves him, so much. They have a very kissy and cuddly relationship (which gets embarrassing when she kisses his forehead goodbye in front of his friends).
He will ALWAYS be a Mama’s Boy™
He gets along with his dad well, too. He has never missed a game, even standing out in torrential rain to watch Caleb play soccer with seven friends when he was six years old, still cheering him on and shaking his umbrella in celebration.
They all come along to his big games, even when he tries to tell them not to, but it always brightens the game up when he looks to the seating and sees his family, beaming at him, holding up ugly hand painted signs they've had since Caleb was ten.
Now we get to the angst >:) GET OUTTA HERE, GOLDEN BOY!!!
Emma
Obviously, Emma's family is split apart. Parents divorced, sister siding with their father, and no family close to the Cove.
The divorce was tough, especially when it came to her parents fighting over the kids and the battle of bribery that ensued.
Since her mom works so often, she has a lot of time to herself.
Sometimes she wonders if she made a mistake, staying with Julia, but she shakes that thought immediately when her father comes to mind.
He's… not the nicest man. Emma used to sit at the top of the stairs to listen to their arguments. The insults and swears she'd learned by the age of ten would concern every teacher.
He had all the money, a very good job, and that's why Robin followed him to the city. Better than this deadbeat town. Emma is sometimes jealous of the lavish life they have together, but when her mom comes home with that tired smile and opens her bag to show lemon meringue pie, Emma's favourite, Emma knows she's made the right decision.
She and her mom try to do things together when Julia has a day off: typical kid’s days out, like the fair, the roller rink, bowling.
As much as Emma appreciates these outings, her favourite part is watching trashy TV on the sofa, and the warm smile of appreciation she gives Emma every time she brings a fresh cup of tea.
When she's lonely, she's grateful you came into her life and built an (unlikely) chosen family with her. She genuinely considers the gang her siblings, and never misses an opportunity to show her appreciation.
Maria
She adores her dads, and they love her to absolute pieces . They had to fight for her, so she means a lot to them. A LOT.
They always reserve time for each other. Every week, shuffled around, they have a board game night, video game night, a collaborative from-scratch cooking night, and theatre night.
They love to dress up for these events, too, just to keep them feeling special.
(Except cooking night. Jose learned that the hard way when he spilled a can of tomatoes down a cream suit jacket.)
However, Maria does get lonely sometimes. Not having siblings or any extended family members (since her dads had to cut themselves off from their families when they got married on the first day it was legal) leaves her feeling quite isolated.
She loves her cats, though.
Aiden
Strict parents, no siblings, he gets even more isolated.
They get him diagnosed with autism when he's young, and since then have mostly kept him from social situations to “protect” him. Their hearts are in the right place, but it takes a toll on his mental health and means he doesn't learn very good social skills.
He resents them a little. Quietly, of course, but if a jab at them ever does slip, they're prompt to punish him by grounding him, isolating him further. Genius.
He sneaks a second phone into his room so he can chat with Myra, who he honestly considers to be his sister and best friend.
She listens to him bitch for a few minutes before she changes the subject, which takes Aiden's mind off of things quickly.
(Especially when it involves a certain someone)
Glen and Bridget's expectations have always been high, and not just for music - he is grounded immediately if a single subject’s grade is below a B.
That does, however, provide its own distraction of studying. No need to do anything against the rules this time. Little wins?
One time, Glen catches him on his phone during grounding. Yelling about disobedience escalates to conversations around mental health (they don't believe that “anxiety” is real) and sexuality, and how he's distracted thinking about the wrong thing. Bridget smacks him when he talks back one time, which left Aiden with a small mark that he brushed off as a bow snapping in his face.
Michael
Michael doesn't get along with his parents.
Or his older sister, for that matter. She stayed at Hearst when Michael moved, and she loves having a reason to be rude to him.
Only his immediate family live in Cedar Cove: the rest live in New York, where Alex was until age fourteen. He misses his cousins a lot, and a couple of aunties and uncles, but he can take or leave the rest.
His grandfather used to put his cigars out in Michael's skin if he ever misbehaved, which has left him with nasty, circular scars running up both arms.
His mom tries her best, but rarely gets it right. She tries so hard to support his mental health, but it's too much for one woman to take, and her check-ins become less frequent as Michael grows up. She has a nasty habit of manipulating him, but he becomes a little less easy to manipulate every year.
He's still not all the way there, though. She still sometimes gets under his skin and in his head, and he agrees to things that he doesn't want to do.
His dad is abusive, and the worst part is that everyone knows it.
It's mostly emotional, but every now and then Michael turns up to school with a couple of bruises. He always brushes it off with a smile.
He had a LOT of pressure put on him, particularly around sports and arts.
His father owns a big camera company, which is why he has so much practise with cameras, and so many wonderful and expensive bits of tech.
He works for his dad by testing out their new products. His dad will always find a way to punish him for not being good enough, but will use Michael's artwork for advertisement anyway.
His parents are why he starts rebelling - firstly with fights (against them and people at school), then with B&Es, joyriding, hacking, then with drugs.
He steals his dad's money, which gives him a few heavy beatings.
Starts with cigarettes and alcohol, then weed, then starts slipping into stuff like cocaine, ketamine, and acid.
He thinks if he can fuck his life up enough, maybe they'll back off.
They do, but he's been left with a criminal record and a couple of dangerous addictions.
(Bonus: Michael + Gay!M!MC)
Michael's dad is massively homophobic.
Never towards Michael, he never suspected a thing, but he would often open political conversations with Michael to make sure he was still his son, his puppet, regurgitating every opinion he has.
It works for a while. Michael is completely brainwashed into believing that homosexuality is wrong, so when MC turns up in all his powerfully gay glory, Michael takes some time to adjust.
He teases MC sometimes, at first, calling him names and telling him to man up. It's a defence mechanism, because in reality, Michael noticed how much he liked him immediately.
MC wasn't even the first boy he liked, or even kissed. But those were such drunken/high/adrenaline fuelled/‘fake’ experiences that he wiped them from his mind as soon as he could, terrified that his dad would be able to read it from his brain when he got home.
It took Michael a lot of time to soften his exterior and apologise to MC. A lot of sleepless nights. A lot of lying to his family if he ever asked what was wrong. A lot of breakdowns.
When Michael and MC finally figure out their relationship, he carries that secret around home with complete and utter fear.
His mom is the first to find out, and tells him they always wanted him to be “perfect” and have a “good” and “acceptable” life.
His dad finds out accidentally and beats Michael for the first time in over a year. Michael runs away to MCs house, still bleeding and crying, and Scott instantly agrees to let him stay for the weekend.
A lot of Michael's story is taken from my OC from a novel I've been writing, so if you read a novel that has an eerily similar plot, hey! Maybe it's me :)
Didn't proof read soz I'm lazy xoxo

Bloom Into Color
Days 4 & 6-Friendship, Family, and Berry High Unity & Pride Welcoming, Acceptance @hss-appreciation-events
Hey everyone, for these days I decided that I would be writing a fanfic instead of a drawing. Its been years since I typed one out and I wanted to freshen up my skills. The story below follows my HSS MC Erica as she finally comes out of the closet and the unity between her friends and cheer mates. The story takes place between books 2 and 3. I hope you like it!
(TRIGGER WARNING FOR MENTIONS OF CHRISTINANITY AND COMPULSORY HETEROSEXUALITY!!!!!!)
The party was in full swing and almost everyone from Berry High was there. The music was loud, the snacks were delicious and the games were hyped up! The middle of the living room Erica and her friends were playing an old time classic: Truth or Dare.
The game was easy for her because all she had to do was pick truth and not tell a lie. Lying was a sin after all. Thankfully, all the truth questions were simple as well as the dares. It was Erica's turn to ask and the bottle landed on Emma.
"Ok Emma, Erica slyly said, Truth or Dare?'
"Uh...Truth." Emma answered
"Ok, have you ever stole candy from the store?"
"No, never!"
"Yeah, I believe ya, Michael sighed, You don't have the nature to steal, no offence Emma."
"None taken." Emma responded
After Erica was Myra.
Myra took the bottle and gave it a good spin. Round and round it went, fast to slow, finally landing on...
Erica
"Ok Erica, Myra gleefully asked, Truth or Dare?"
"Truth!" Erica exclaimed.
Another win secured. Nothing was going to ruin this party for her. Erica was ready for Myra's question.
"We all know that Caleb is your boyfriend now, Myra started, but when you first arrived at Berry... Who was your crush?!"
Erica's heart SANKED. The angelic grin soon became a terrified frown. Her heart began to pulse harder. Now a normal teenager in this situation would just lie and say there current partner...but that wasn't Erica. She made a commitment to her Lord to never sin and lying was a sin. Erica look down, blush started to form in her cheeks and her eyes started to water. Finally, she looked up with a deep breath.
"Morgan..." She wispered
"I'm sorry what?!" Michael snorted
"Morgan! Morgan! MORGAN JENNINGS!!!" Erica shouted.
Luckily it wasn't loud enough to disrupt the party.
Everyone but Michael was shocked. In fact, he was snort laughing because he thought it was a joke at first. However, it took one look at Erica to realize it was true. Then he matched everyone's expressions.
Erica started to whimper.
"Oh...Well...That's..."Maria started to say but the faces were enough.
"I'm sorry! I'm so sorry!" Erica apologized
"No Erica, it's really..."Emma tried to acknowledge
"I'm terrible, I'm filthy, it wasn't supposed to happen but it did, and now you all think I'm disgusting!!" Erica cried.
"No Erica, we just didn't think.." Caleb tried to explain
"Don't worry, I'll try to fix on it some more. Then I wont go to Hell. Everything with be normal!" Erica exclaimed with tears in her eyes.
Her friends just stood there with worried emotions on their faces. Witnessing this brought Erica to more tears. Were her friends really going to leave because of her feelings towards the blue-haired rebel? Was Berry going to be another Westchester? Maybe it was better for her just to leave. Leave and never come back. Leave and repent for even surfacing that part of herself again.
Before any of them could get a word out. Erica bolted out the door, running to her car. Caleb got back up and tried to chase her. He wanted to let her know that he still loved her and accepted her for who she was. He wanted to hug her and tell her that it was going to be alright, but Erica was already out the driveway by the time he came outside.
"ERICA!!!!"Caleb yelled. He yelled and yelled again, but it was no use. She went back home.
Caleb was soon gathered by their friends and a sobbing Myra.
"I'm so sorry, Myra sobbed, I didn't mean to.."
"Its ok Myra, it wasn't your fault, you didn't know." Caleb reassured.
"Poor Erica, sighed Sydney, she must feel really awful right now."
"See its stuff like religion that makes someone like Erica feel bad for what she cant control!" Michael angrily spouted shaking his head.
"Now Michael you can't fully say that, Maria stated, My father's and I all go to church and we are told that we are loved and accepted by God."
Michael rolled his eyes, he was still agnostic.
"Right now, is not the time for Erica to mope!" Maria stood "We need to let her know that we as a school accept her, and maybe if she sees how we can accept her sexuality, she'll realize God loves her the way she is!"
Nods and shouts came around the lawn. Even Michael was on board. The only problem was...how.
The idea soon popped into Caleb's head. He soon gathered everyone around for his plan.
That Monday...
...was finally here and Erica was still depressed. During the weekend she prayed and prayed and asked to be forgiven for her sin. She prayed right, so why does she still feel so guilty? Maybe if she does it again after cheer practice.
Erica expected to find the same old red locker she used but when she got there she found a beautiful surprise! Her locker was adorned with bisexual stickers, pink, blue and purple streamers, and finally fake flowers of the same colors!
Erica was confused at first but a cough got her to turn around and her face was even more shocked.
All of her friends were dressed in the bisexual colors and giving her loud encouraging cheers. Emma threw confetti and Mia and Sydney came from behind with a cute little cheer!
1-2-3-4
You don't have to hide anymore!
5-6-7-8
Being bisexual is really great!
The cheers from the friend group got louder, with even a little toot from principal Hughs.
"I...I don't understand, Erica said, What is all this?"
"We at Berry High just wanted to let you know that we love and accept all of our LGBT students!" Principal Hughs noted. "Your friends told me about the little incident that happened at the party and they wanted to throw this for you to show their support!"
Erica looked at her friends. Instead of confused or off-putting faces, their faces were full of cheerful and accepting smiles. Erica started to cry again. She began to realize that she was blessed to have a friend group to go out their way to show her love. Two hands touched her shoulders, they were Caleb and Maria's.
"Erica...Maria stated, I understand what you are going through, but I was told that God loves all his people, so I know that he loves you too."
"And you shouldn't have to hide who you are and be miserable." Caleb said. "I love my bi girlfriend."
"And Erica, I didn't mean to make you uncomfortable at the party on Friday, I just thought you were going to say Caleb. Myra apologized.
"T...Th...Thank you all!" Erica exclaimed. A sigh of relief left her body. She was able to let go. Able to smile once again. Able to see the love God has given her through her friends.
The group including Principal Hughs hugged Erica.
"But for the record Erica, you can do so much better than Morgan!" Michael snorted followed by a light punch by Caleb.
Laugher went around but was interrupted by the first bell. It was time to get to class.
Later it was time for lunch. Everything felt normal. Erica was just about to take a bite out of her salad when Emma asked.
"Hey Erica, how did you figure out you were bi anyway?"
Erica took a breath in and answered. "I've always had crushes on guys but back in my old school, there was this goth girl with beautiful red and gold locs in her hair. I was so armored on how she expressed herself without a care in the world. At first I thought I wanted to be her but soon I realized I wanted to be with her, but then..."
No...NO! She was NOT going to let it happen again! Erica Vine was bisexual and she was proud of it, and God loves her the way she is !
"...anyways, looking back on it, I don't think she would of liked me back anyway. She comes around my mom's wiccan shop sometimes. I wondered what she's doing now?" Erica finished.
"So Erica...Myra smirked...You sure got a thing for bad girls huh?"
Erica blushed and everyone laughed. Caleb gave Erica a kiss on the fore head to calm her down.
"Oh Myra!" Erica sighed.
Author's Note: This is my first time writing fanfic in a while so I might be rusty. I based this on my own experiences with my sexuality. While I don't really know yet, it was nice to share some of my struggle through Erica. Also, when I was creating Erica, I remember low key shipping her with Morgan and Ava Cunningham and thinking it was cute. I called this blooming with color because its a transition from the straight flag(Black and White) to the Bisexual flag(Pink, Blue, and Purple) and Ericas are a type of flower. I hope you all enjoy this as much as I had making it!

Hi Juud! Thanks for the ask
In reference to this post
This is one of the ideas that I had for a long time. This fic is post the HSS: CA series, when Maria is off at Terman U, and Ria starts her senior year at Berry High. School without being able to see Maria proves to be a lot tougher than she thinks!
So, this is a sneak peek of what I'm going to write
'Can I have a slice of Red Velvet cake?' asked Ria. The waitress nods as she takes their orders before walking away. Myra looks at her, preceptive. Ria happened to notice the stare. 'What?' Myra folds her hands. 'You are pining, aren't you?' 'Pining? I don't know what you're talking about.' 'You sure about that?' asked Michael from across the table. 'Come on Ri, just admit it.' said Emma, looking at her best friend. 'Admit what?' asked Ria, getting a little weary of the stares her friends were giving her. 'That you are pining for a certain someone?' said Caleb, grinning. Ria feels her face turning hot. 'Who am I pining for? I'm not pining for anyone!' Michael grins teasingly. 'Are you sure? Not even a certain class president with an obsession for Red Velvet?' Ria blushes. 'What makes you think I'm pining for her? Just because I ordered her favorite flavor. Come on guys.' Emma laughs helplessly. 'Ri, we all know that double chocolate is always your go-to flavor. In these 2 years we have never seen you order any other flavor for yourself.' 'So? I just want a change...' Ria knew that argument won't work with her friends. She had always been a terrible liar. 'Really?' asks Myra, trying to get a rise out of Ria. 'Then why have you been super sulky when Rory appeared on Tiger News today? Miss your favorite anchor already?' Ria stammers 'I..I wasn't sulky...'

Caleb and Jonah's love language is acts of service, they love to do random tiny things for each other which would sometimes actually be much easier for them to just do for themselves, but they like doing stuff for each other, even at an inconvenience
Yes they have been called out on it before, no they will never change their ways
