R13 RTW 2017 SPRING [REVIEW]

Desingned by Chris Leba this collection is one my favourites, with references of punk and goth style used as a metaphor to play into the creative director's ideas and views on the political climate at the time , with strong pieces that clearly show Chris Leba's thoughts on the elections at the time. In the words of Kristi Garced for Woman's Wear Daily : " The first few looks in R13’s spring show — which designer Chris Leba characterized as “just the appetizer” before the main course — featured red, white and blue jackets, minidresses and leggings that said “F–k Trump” and “God Save America” in gigantic, drippy letters."

I find the fact that he uses this punk references like the chokers, combat boots and over all distressed feeling really interesting and smart considering the history of this movement and how it started as a way of sharing this political discomfort that young people felt, and the cherry on top is the fact that this collection represents the brand in a great way, it feels loyal to the brands identity with this edgy feeling while still being appealing to the comercial public and staying fresh

one of my ALL TIME FAVOURITES and definitely one of my biggest references when constructing my own style

She says that a friend is right he takes his head on heads up and the wind is blowing his hair straight back cuz he's going very fast he goes he used to ride real fast as fast as a bike would go he she saw him go 300 mph I thought it was the fastest ever and really back then that was extremely fast looks like a dick the other one says and it did a little bit but I don't know.... Yeah we saw him Korean says straight up right, it's Lebanese is not lesbian my name sounds like that too and yeah it looks like a dick.

This is great it's so much kind of sanction and hateful remarks I couldn't tell what the hell was going on they showed me a little bit and I said you guys are working that's amazing since about quality of life I agree too they were doing all that stuff it's working then 9/11 happened they got really upset it makes a lot of sense now he's going to kind of help out everybody because it's kind of a way of saying goodbye to people and it's people are missing people and it's sad.

So I can't repeat what he said for the memorial because Luke used to say it and it's not right

Thinking about character’s costume.

While I was looking for inspiration for my character's costume by watching fashion shows, I realised the importance of designing a costume that reflects the character's personality. For example, the darker style costumes use more and larger metal accents and belts, and the cut-outs in the costumes show the hidden unrest in the blood of the person, expressing the underground, brooding personality of the character.
