not only influence the history of American fashion !#~@~baby girl dresses for christmas
Alex: We knew we wanted a simple wedding with just close friends and family in Singapore. We were already going for a traditional hotel wedding in Hong Kong so we had the luxury to really do what we wanted for the Singapore wedding. We wanted something with an outdoor element and when Chloe's older sister recommended Open Farm Community which had just opened up then wedding venues, we thought it was the perfect option. The colour theme we had was blush and peach, although the natural greenery at the location contributed a lot to the look too. Each vendor in a co-op pays a fee for his space to the co-op landlord. The vendors also charge sales tax on their goods and pay using their own tax ID number and not that of the co-op space itself. Many co-ops have one cash register and the sellers need not be at their booths ' everything just must be priced so that the sales associate manning the co-op for the day can ring the appropriate amount and keep proper records for jsweddenladress20107 who receives that sale.

We had to decide if we should make a two and a half hour's drive to Asahikawa where the airport is open and to take a next flight out. But we did not have enough fuel to take us there and some roads were closed lala dresses online. Fuel were already being rationed then. We eventually decided to head back to Sapporo which is about forty minutes away by car as Sheila and I already had four nights of hotel stay booked. THE SMART SAVING TIP: It's time to act your age! If you are a student or a senior citizen, your local thrift store might offer special discount days just for you. Always call in advance to inquire, or check your store's web site for a calendar or listing of sale days. Thrift stores can be a lot like movie matinees: if you just visit at the right time, you're automatically going to save money. What sets this location apart is its beautiful ivy-covered terraces and its raw appeal. This place also has a clear European influence and offers great views of industrial New York. The location is on the smaller side too, so it can be a great location for an intimate dinner and ceremony. The venue can accommodate up to 200 standing guests and can seat 165. HOW TO WEAR: Rag & Bone boys rock derby hats on the runway in vibrant solid colors like red and white nordstrom homecoming dresses. The hats are meant to operate as a 'style connector' between other elements of the look, for example, the red bowler hat model has red plaid pants dress sash, and the white bowler hat model is wearing a muted white look.

Norwich pubs, beers and breweries: What’s not to love?
Tumblr media
They often say that ‘you do anything for the people and things you love’.
For me. If I had to pick, I’d highlight football, my favourite Chinese takeaway, my girlfriend Poppy, former Ipswich Town striker Shefki Kuqi, and my Mediterranean tortoise named Coco as some of the most valuable things in my life. Not in that order I might add!
Tumblr media
Oh. I almost forgot. Cask ale, often known as ‘real ale’ or ‘ale from the hand-pump’, is mostly certainly now in the upper reaches of that adorable list. You see, my taste buds have strayed from the mainstream lagers in the last few years, and cask ale is now known as my ‘new love’ that I seemingly can’t go anywhere without!
Tumblr media
Especially on celebratory events like Valentine’s Day. Days full of laughter and fun and days to cherish and remember. Valentine’s Day 2020 was therefore spent trying to please, and spend valuable time with, the people and things that matter the most! OK, I’m not Superman, and didn’t manage to fit everyone / everything in, but I’d say that attending a Beer Festival with more than 60 ales to choose from was the perfect setting for Valentine’s Eve💖!
Tumblr media
Of course, I didn’t go on this quest alone. If I had to guess some of Poppy’s ‘priority list’, I’d go for: exploration, visiting new places, sightseeing, culture, food, wine, socialising, travelling, shopping, talking, and Pickled Onion Monster Munch 👾. Hopefully I’d be somewhere in there too!
Tumblr media
Norwich was the chosen location for our Valentine’s getaway. Norwich. Home of Colman’s Mustard. Home of The Cathedral. Home of The Canaries: Norwich City FC 🟡🟢. The Canaries. Oh how Ipswich used to beat them regularly and proudly perch as the ‘pride of East Anglia’. But such dreams are now a distant memory for many increasingly-poignant Ipswich fans like myself, and come to think of it, I don’t know if I’ll ever get the chance to cheer on the Tractor Boys 🚜 in another ‘Old Farm Derby’ again! Such is the current demise and perilous position of the boys in blue and white 🔵⚪.
But, “forget the football for once,” I told Poppy. It was time to explore a beautiful, cultural, vibrant and historic city blessed with an array of fantastic shops, market stalls, and of course pubs and breweries. Our getaway was planned at the very last minute – and Norwich was perfect for our plans and interests. I think the conversation in the car on the way to work on the Monday went something like ‘Shall we do something for Valentine’s Day this year?’ Four days later and we’re living our best life. After all, they often say: ‘Live in the moment’, ‘life is for laughing’, ‘treat yourself’ etc.
Talking of treats. Naturally, a treat = beer. The airport beer. The shower beer. The hotel balcony beer. The kitchen beer while she’s getting ready. The straight to the pub from work beer. The Sunday afternoon beer garden beer. The Friday before Christmas beer. There are so many great beers everywhere. Especially, in Norwich where a plethora of tasty, excellent beers are produced by Norfolk breweries and then sold in great numbers at various watering holes across the city.
One of which, the Georgian Townhouse, was where we were lucky enough to stay. With an excellent choice of boutique bedrooms and luxury apartments, the Georgian Townhouse offers a truly unique retreat in a glorious setting in the heart of the city – and I’d highly recommend it. Boasting a Roberts Revival digital radio 📻, a Smeg fridge and a Nespresso machine ☕ , we were in some kind of hotel heaven when we unpacked our bags. Blimey! Heaven turned into paradise when we saw the size of the humongous bath in the en-suite🛀. I thought about going swimming at one stage 🏊 !
Tumblr media
But that’s not it. The fantastic Georgian Townhouse staff even presented us with two local beers from St Andrews Brewhouse – Wensum Ale, a best bitter, and Grocers Ghost Pale Ale (more on those later) – to sample on arrival. And with a small bottle of champagne, and a bunch of freshly picked, roaring red roses that definitely were not bought from Tesco (how did they even get there!?), the scene was set for a cracking couple of days!
Tumblr media
And a cracking couple of days were had. Starting with dinner in the restaurant: Delicious roast chicken served with coleslaw, chips and salad. Just what the doctor ordered.
Tumblr media
The service was also very good – and after scanning my QR code to record my visit on the CaskFinder App – significant interest in the App generated as some members of staff wanted to become ‘beer experts’ by vowing to learn all of the tasting-notes for the 10,000 beers on show! I opted to wash dinner down with two lovely pints of Woodforde’s Wherry. A beer that has grown on me in recent times, with its delicious citrus aftertaste going down very well indeed.
Tumblr media
From here, we took the mutual decision to move onto The Trafford Arms for the Valentine Beer Festival! With Storm Ciara beginning her windy, wet warm up, and the choice of 60+ beers to look forward to, it’s fair to say that Poppy was not the most enthused on the chilly walk through the housing estates en route to The Trafford. In fact, I’d say she was uncharacteristically quiet. Which really is a rarity! But that soon changed as we entered the pub’s welcoming doors. Bingo! Their Cask Marque certificate greeted us at the door. After registering the visit on the CaskFinder App, it soon became apparent that we were to make this public house our home for the next few hours.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Of course, I’d done my research, and found that the Valentine Beer Festival was a popular annual, week-long event. With a huge variety of beers ranging in appearance and ABV%, as well as live music, what’s not to love about it really? So as Poppy sipped on her fruit-filled gin n’ tonic, I tested my taste buds. All while listening to the dulcet tones of The Rum Dogs, who, in their own words, perform ‘funky, folk music with humour and passion’.
Tumblr media
If I had to pick a ‘beer of the night’, I’d go for Ampersand’s ‘On the wing’, a hop forward pale session ale brewed with oats and heaps of late Amarillo, Citra, Ekuanot & El Dorado hops. But I wasn’t alone in trying new beers. The pub had a very friendly, absorbing vibe about it, and it was great to see it packed full of drinkers – young, old, male and female – all testing their taste buds and indulging in some beautiful cask ales.
We were sad to leave The Trafford, armed with our packets of Salt & Vinegar crisps to detract our attention away from a strengthening Ciara, but will certainly aim to visit again. I believe the Beer Festival continued to be a hit – and, whisper it quietly, I think beers were being served at £2 a pint towards the end! We’ll definitely be back if that’s the case!
After a well-deserved sleep (this drinking business can be tiring), we went down to breakfast – the most important meal of the day. Apparently! We were not left disappointed. There was plenty of choice: from cereal and fruits to pastries and yoghurts to cooked meals, the menu was expansive – and partnered with excellent customer service. Personally, I opted for a few slices of cantaloupe melon – after demolishing a freshly-cooked Full English that smelt as good as it looked!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This set us up perfectly for the day’s activities, and, as avid believers of living life on the edge, we just immersed ourselves in the beautiful, windy Norwich lanes, streets, and marketplace. We bought a few birthday gifts (happy 23rd to my sister Ellie), and enjoyed our time stumbling across many a hidden gem – including Chef Ron’s Kitchen and Roman’s Juice Bar, who really sold us their appetising pizza slices🍕 and tasty smoothies🥤.
Tumblr media
After eyeing up quirky rugs, lampshades, and other home essentials, we then fell upon FREE ping pong and table football inside Castle Quarter. Which was an absolute game-changer! Unfortunately, the table tennis was so popular that we didn’t have the patience to wait, so Poppy’s interest and undenied passion for ‘the beautiful game’ intensified even further when she challenged me to an encounter of table football. And, after a comically entertaining match, which saw the Ipswich Town Blues defeat a Norwich team, playing in their red away kit, 10-5, I fully expect our game to be shown first on Match of the Day this weekend. Shefki Kuqi top scored (there’s only one f in Shefki) with eight of Ipswich’s 10 goals. If only these dreams became a reality…
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In all seriousness, both facilities are well-maintained and are cracking ideas. In a world being domineered by iPhones and other such technological advances, they offer a great opportunity for family members and friends to enjoy one another’s company – and with a competitive element thrown in too. Hey, I won lunch! Wake me up, I’m dreaming again… Talking of lunch, once our match, which included full-match commentary, much to the amusement of several passers-by, reached its conclusion, the quest for good food and drink was on. In my book, the clock striking 1pm means only one thing: beer time! As we all know, shopping can be tiring and can work up an appetite so it was imperative we found a place that could satisfy our bodies and minds.
Tumblr media
Step forward, St Andrews Brewhouse! It’s easy to see why this brewery-turned-pub is regarded as one of the best food and drink establishments in Norwich. Home to their very own microbrewery, which produce some amazing beers, St Andrews Brewhouse is a real favourite among Norwich folk with their popular restaurant, bar area, and functions room nearly always fully populated.
See it for yourself here:
youtube
In my opinion, one of the best things about pubs is the range of people they attract. People-watching is also a proven, favourite past-time of the human race! The guy sitting by the window at St Andrews Brewhouse with just a book and a beer for company looked like he was having a great time. As did the three suitcase-carrying friends hungry for a good meal after landing from their holidays. Of course, Poppy and I were probably seen by others as ‘the Valentines’ – enjoying one another’s company, alongside the superb Macaroni Cheese and two pints of lovely Wensum Ale – a best bitter with a sweet, malty and fruity finish. Spot on.
Tumblr media
And, as we made our way out, hand-in-hand, looking for the next stop in our exciting jaunt, Poppy declared that ‘the St Andrews Brewhouse is one of the best pubs I’ve been in; I loved it’. And I’d have to agree. Good food. Good beer. Good times. It’s simply a must-visit! Add it to your Norwich bucket list!
Tumblr media
It was then by complete accident, that after crossing the bridge on St Georges Street, that we found the Playhouse Bar! Again, Miss Brown wasn’t overly keen when I suggested that we gave it a look as ‘it’s different’. But, again, her opinion quickly changed when we set foot inside! The adjectives quirky, funky, and mesmerising are ones I’d used to describe a unique bar setting and atmosphere! Playhouse Bar’s ceiling is a colourful collection of artworks portraying a city scape.
Tumblr media
The project was started in 2011 by members of bar staff, many of whom are former art students. Art was probably my worst subject at school, but I had a serious case of ‘ceilingopolis’! We couldn’t help but stare at the ceiling – and managed to find The Olympic Stadium, an IKEA and Jurassic Park – to name but a few places of interest on top of us. It’s certainly very interesting and worth a visit. The sucker fish was entertaining too. I wonder what he’s seen – and forgotten – in his lifetime. In all honesty, we could’ve stayed people and ceiling-watching for hours…
Tumblr media
It was at the Ribs of Beef where our journey ended – obviously after taking some selfies and photo-bombing one another first.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I opted to try a trio of tasty local beers to round up – and was not left disappointed with some fruitful tasting beers from Lacons, Wolf and Moon Gazer Ales cleansing the palette perfectly. Norfolk is the home of these fine breweries – and it was fantastic to see each of the pubs I visited support local breweries.
Tumblr media
That’s the thing. Norwich really is a community of beers, breweries, and pubs. Partnerships between all will certainly heighten in May, when the 10th Norwich City of Ale Festival officially opens. An 11-day celebration of some of Norwich’s finest pubs, and the region’s excellent brewers, City of Ale 2020 promises to be packed with Ale Trails and fun events to keep consumers entertained. I really can’t wait for it to begin! Thursday, May 21 to Sunday, May 31. Save the dates! Plan the action! Come and see what Norwich has to offer.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
With a handful of the 45 pubs involved in City of Ale also being Cask Marque accredited, they appear on the CaskFinder App’s ‘World’s Biggest Ale Trail’. May 2020 seems the perfect time to tick off a few pubs yet to visit and a few beers yet to try! The never-ending, full-of-fun, beer adventure just keeps continuing…

Good Things From My 2017
I met my niece! (She snuck in at the tail end of 2016 but I didn’t meet her until February.) And I got to celebrate her first birthday with her.
My little baby cousin was born in January and I was able to spend a lot of time with her and her brother this year. Also, I went to her christening in November and it ended up being a really fun, good day.
My cousin threw a Kentucky Derby party including themed food and costumes.
I got hired for my first ever PAID FILM JOB! I’m a professional filmmaker! Ten years after graduation and my high school is still giving me excellent things.
I went to judge senior film projects there, which I always enjoy because I like keeping up with what’s going on there; I’m like a mythical being because I graduated way back in ‘08; I feel like a professional; I love seeing how hard the students work and how very often their films are really excellent; and they give us lunch. This year it was authentic Mexican food by a presenter’s grandparents who were the subject of her movie about them and how they immigrated to America and started their restaurant, which while not objectively the best film I saw that day it was easily my favorite. I also ran into High School Boy’s brother, of all people, who I haven’t seen since 2010. Not only do I believe this was A Message but he was kind of my friend so it was cool to see him in and of itself.
Incidentally, High School Boy interacted with me via Facebook for the first time in years. I’d like to take this opportunity to put it out there that I would like this to keep happening.
I won my Social Security claim. Not only is having the money a huge relief but so is having the hearing over and done with. I want the Universe and my lawyer and my doctors and the medical expert and the judge to know how exceedingly grateful I am that this worked out in my favor. Thank you all!
I went into Boston on the fourth of July, wandered around, ate really good Indian food, had dinner served by a Bulgarian waiter (which included trying a sardine for the first time, they’re really good!), and had cannollis for dessert before watching the fireworks from our hotel room. I relish having spent a relatively international Independence Day in a diverse city as an act of patriotism in a shitty political climate.
I went to my first ever clambake and ate my first ever whole lobster and smoked (two puffs of) a cigar and saw my first firefly and it was one of the most fun days of the summer. Summer also brought my twenty-seventh birthday and my little cousin’s third birthday and our respective celebrations.
I went to see a live performance of Les Mis for the first time and thought it was fantastic! Other theatre highlights from this year include The Lion King, Chicago, my friend’s production of Marat/Sade, and a Forever Plaid that I saw not two nights ago and was super impressed by despite not having high expectations.
I went to New Hampshire for a long weekend with my cousin’s family and it ended up being the most fun vacation I’ve had since Disney World in 2008. We went shopping, spent a day at Trading Post, went to the Fryberg Fair (which kind of sucked but I got to see draft horses and sheep and goats and a pig with piglets and cows and long horns and eat a fried dough and a really good wrap and drink hot apple cider), and rode a gondola up to the summit of Mount where I had the best hot chocolate I’ve had in recent memory.
Two new Fratellis’ songs were released, and there’s a new album and a concert to look forward to in 2018!
I had so much fun buying Christmas/birthday presents for everyone this year, especially the family babies, as I actually had money to work with.
The world was gifted with another Star Wars movie. I went to see it on premiere night, when the energy is electric, and I enjoyed it very much. I think this trilogy is doing really cool things in regards to how stories are important to human lives and actions, and how the way we mythologize people and their stories can ignite change, and if not change, at least hope. And rebellions are built on hope.
I rebelled this year. Most of us rebelled together, and I couldn’t be more proud.
Happy New Year, everyone! I wish you comfort, safety, love, and joy in 2018.

Huntington Hartford Theater is Where My Life Changed
I also spend some time with Mr. Burr before the show being presented (which meant most of the day). I had an incredible experience with Mr. Burr, but will not share it on this Blog. Over time we had many celebrities visiting us in the office. Helen Hays, Elizbeth Taylor, Rock Hudson and many more. This list doesn’t even mention some of the most famous producers in the industry. Joe Barbera and Bill Hanna who produced many of the cartoon series of the time were in attendance many times. They were credited with changing the methods of creating animation. The most famous was “The Flintstones”. So many successful producers attended shows at the Greek that I could go on forever.
My time at the Greek was an incredible learning experience but nothing compared to my experiences at the Huntington Hartford Theater. It was where I learned everything that changed my life. The Huntington Hartford only did plays and had an incredible season every year. First, the woman who was in charge of season ticket holders was Countess Florencia Falzone. She was an incredible woman, who had 6 children, probably from several different men (with the likely exception of the Count). She had many admirers and was always receiving gifts from them of incredible value. One of the largest diamond rings I ever saw was given to her as a friendship ring with no strings attached. I mention all this because she was considered royalty in Beverly Hills and managed to bring in many very prominent season ticket holders for the theatre. I got to know her quite well, I remember when I couldn’t afford to get a television. She told me she had a couple of large televisions in her garage and I was welcome to them. I thanked her and rushed to go get one which worked beautifully. Another thing she did for me was hiring my wife as her assistant in the Season Ticket Department at the theatre. Of course, this was with the blessings of Mr. Doolittle. The hiring of my wife helped us meet our living expenses. Our life at this point was making many massive changes for the good. It started when one of my fellow classmates at the Pasadena Playhouse, Sally Struthers, got a recurring role on the Smothers Brothers show and she ultimately started dating Tommy Smothers.
The reason this helped my wife and I was the fact that Tommy Smothers decided to produce the musical “Hair” at the Aquarius Theatre in Hollywood. I can’t remember what the deal was, but my wife got loaned to the theatre to work with their opening night and celebrity ticket sales. This was all possible because of my on-again / off-again relationship with Sally. Also, we got to meet Tommy Smothers several times, as well as Jim Rado & Gerome Ragni who wrote the music and the show. We also got to spend some time with the cast. My wife moved over to the theatre and worked directly with Harry Blackstone who was, at the time, the General Manager of the Aquarius. Harry, for those of you that know your magic, k was one of the most famous Magicians in the country. He got us into the Magic Castle in Beverly Hills many times. Back then you had to be a magician or be sponsored by one in advance to gain entrance. They have opened it up somewhat today, however. The reason I bring this all up is because of my wife and friendships, we got two great tickets to the opening as well as the after-show party. The after-show themed party was mind-blowing (just like the show). Mentioning the show, it was absolutely at the time like nothing ever produced. It was so different and exciting and one of the first musicals to have a nude scene.
But the thing I remember the most was the after-party, which we attended with Josie Pollack, the booking agent for the Greek Theatre. I got to know Josie quite well and we became fast friends. Josie knew everybody who was anybody in Hollywood and was close friends with them. I have many other stories of the time I spent in her company. The party was phenomenal!
The producers had put up a massive tent in what was originally the parking lot. It was what I saw that night that gave me a sense of what a themed event could be, and the memory of the event set me up for what I wanted to do later in my life. Everybody who was anybody in Hollywood was there. The list of celebrities was endless. I remember the night to this day. The food and beverages were first class, the seafood, the specialty food stations were numerous, caviar, fillets and just about everything you could want. It also had at least 12 open bars and a staff of 24 minimum passing hors d’ oeuvres. They must also have poured 1000 bottles of champagne.
That night, my wife and I within the company of Josie Pollack, met many stars and producers. The one I remember the most was Liberace. I spent most of the time being chased around the event by him and no matter how much I tried to explain that was not into that kind of behavior, he just wouldn’t give up. He finally did, however, give up. Other than that, he was really quite nice to my wife and I. I later found out that he went to Josie Pollack and got my wife and I’s birthdays, Anniversary and address. With this information, he would always send my wife and I a present on our birthdays, anniversaries and at Christmas time. He also would send me five first row tickets to his performances in Las Vegas. We got these presents every year until he passed away. I was told that he literally did this for almost 1000 people he had met over the years.
Once we had attended the show and went back to the Greek and Huntington Hartford my wife did stay on, however, in the ticket department at the Aquarius as the Countess left the theatre and hired a new woman to run the Season Sales Department. She turned out to be great, and we got to know her and her husband quite well. As I mentioned before, my wife would suffer from depression and the new woman was a Christian Scientist and did her best to convert her to the faith, which seemed to help her a lot. It didn’t necessarily help me, as I never endorsed the faith, but we didn’t have any children so I didn’t object to her involvement.
Things really started happening for me at the Greek & Hartford (mostly the Hartford). I was getting some incredible opportunities there. First, I had the opportunity to meet Gregory Peck and his wife and one night at the theatre he invited me to join him and his wife for dinner across the street at the Brown Derby. There was another couple invited as well but I don’t remember their names. I do remember them as being quite nice. The evening was as memorable as I was star struck and he was one of my favorite actors of all time. Also, back then if my wife drank wine it would be fortified and cost a couple of dollars a gallon, This night, however, will remain in my mind forever as Mr. Peck ordered two bottles of wine that cost almost $1,500.00 a bottle. They had a Sommelier come to the table and decant the wine and serve it to us. I must admit I absolutely hated it, it tasted moldy to me. Of course, we just had no pallet for the wine of that vintage and quality. It took years for me to develop a taste for good vintages and, for that matter, spend more than $10.00 for a bottle of wine. Today, however, it’s a bit different. But I will always remember that evening,
Another evening I will never forget was when Josie Pollack decided to go out for a couple of drinks after a show and ended up at Daisies (which was a bar that a lot of celebrities went to after they did their live shows). We came into the place and got a high top table and settled in as Josie went off to say hello to some of her friends. At some point, she came back and we were just sitting there talking when Sammy Davis Jr. Came to the table to say hello to Josie and took a seat. I have to say he was a lot shorter than I could imagine. Josie introduced me and we all engaged in conversation. We had been talking for about 15 minutes when all of a sudden, up comes Johnny Carson to say hello to Josie and Sammy Davis. We sat around talking about our day when Johnny Carson asked if anybody was hungry. We all agreed that we could have a bite, so Johnny he could get a limo from the studio and we could head over to Chasen’s (famous for its Chili) for dinner. The limo arrived and off we went to the restaurant. When we got there, we were refused admission as we did not have a coat and tie. I couldn’t believe it, it was Johnny Carson and Sammy Davis Jr. and they wouldn’t admit us without a coat and tie. We started to leave when Johnny Carson held back and he said let’s all get back in the limo. He had a suite at the Sheraton so we all went to his suite and he then distributed ties, and sports jackets to me and Sammy Davis which was hilarious. When he got into one of Johnny’s jackets (wasn’t all that bad as Johnny was a very short man as well). I, however, looked ridiculous. Johnny removed his shirt as the restaurant hadn’t said anything about having to have a shirt. Back we went and the restaurant had to let us in as we were wearing coats and ties. That was a hoot.
Had another interesting evening of fun when my wife and I went to the Beverly Wilshure Hotel for dinner and were sitting in the lobby waiting for some friends to join us. A Frairs Club Dinner was going on in one of the ballrooms at the time. At some point, Don Rickles and Redd Fox came out of the ballroom and into the lobby and Rickles started doing his act with all of us in the lobby. Fortunately for us, Sydney Poitier came into the lobby and Rickles started in on him. It was hilarious. Sydney could not stop laughing. Rickles told him that if he hadn’t become an actor he would have ended up as a naked druggist from the Bronx. You had to be there. It was an evening that no one in that lobby will ever forget.
