Thirteen. March, 2012.
Niall can’t sleep.
It’s three o’clock in the morning and he’s fucking exhausted and he’s in New York and he can’t sleep. The day’s been long: an early wakeup call, a never ending album signing at a mall somewhere in New Jersey, a long drive back to the hotel. He spent a few hours fucking around with Louis afterward, playing FIFA, eating pizza, just generally chatting shit and he’d felt fine, mostly, just tired, until now.
For the most part, the homesickness thing hasn’t really gotten to Niall over the past two years—at least not the way it gets to Louis and Zayn and even Harry sometimes. He doesn’t spend hours curled up in his bunk on the bus on the phone to home, doesn’t feel like he needs things like Barry’s Tea or Club chocolate bars to Tayto crisps to remind him of what he left behind. He loves Ireland, of course he does, but he loves adventure, too—he loves the wide, open roads of American highways, the constant hum of New York City outside his window, the unmatchable energy of screaming fans everywhere he goes. It feels like he’s made a good trade off, if he’s honest—he had to lose to gain, but, most of the time, he doesn’t feel like he’s lost all that much.
But today was St. Patrick’s Day. All day he’d fielded questions about Ireland: about what he misses, what his favorite slang words are, what he wants to do whenever he goes back next, as if he even knows when he’ll be able to go home again. By the middle of the day it felt like someone was banging him over the head with a hammer, shouting at him to miss Ireland, think about Ireland, call home to Ireland.
And then there was a girl. She was one of the last ones in line for the signing and couldn’t have been older than six, long blonde hair, a shy look on her face. She clung to her mom’s leg and looked up at the five of them with wide eyes, like she couldn’t quite believe they were real, and when Louis asked for her name she whispered ‘Isla,’ standing up on her tippy toes to watch Louis scribble it onto her copy of the album.
Bang, Niall felt, hammer over his head again. Bang, bang, fucking bang.
And now he can’t sleep. And he can’t stop thinking about it. And St. Patrick’s Day is technically over but he feels weird, antsy, a little clammy. He wants to take a walk but not through the city, his only option right now—he’s thinking about backroads in Mullingar, overgrown fields and muddy ground along the canal. He needs to move: to jump, to run, to do something that isn’t laying on his back in a hotel bed and staring at the ceiling.
He needs to talk to Isla.
They’re not talking anymore. It was an on purpose decision, one they made together a few weeks after the breakup, when he’d called her in the middle of the night to tell her about a movie he’d just watched and she told him this had to stop, told him it was too painful to keep talking the way they used to, told him they had to take this break up seriously, if that’s what he really wanted.
They’d drawn a hard line in the sand then: no talking except for birthdays, holidays, and emergencies, and all conversation had to be strictly platonic. Isla’d offered to write up an official contract for them both to sign, Niall’d told her it wouldn’t be binding until she actually got accepted into law school. She’d laughed and hung up on him, and that had been the end of it, really. He hadn’t even had time to see her over Christmas, because he was only home for three full days.
And so, when Niall does crack at 3:47 in the morning New York time, he shouldn't be surprised that Isla answers the phone with simply, ‘are you okay?’
‘Hello to you too,’ he says, warmth immediately pooling in his stomach. ‘I’m fine.’
‘Why are you calling me, then?’ Isla sounds a little tired and Niall does some quick math: 8:47 am in Ireland, on a Sunday. ‘This is a breach of the contract.’ There’s a smile in her voice, one Niall matches instantly.
‘Is not. St. Patrick’s Day is a holiday.’
‘That was yesterday,’ Isla says, feigning annoyance even though Niall can hear her laughing. The sound of it melts over him like a duvet, warm and familiar. Safe. ‘And it doesn’t count.’
‘Why the fuck doesn’t it count? It’s our country’s national holiday, it should count the most.’
‘You don’t live here anymore,’ a rustling sound, a chirping bird. Isla’s outside. ‘It doesn’t count for you.’
‘I respectfully disagree, barrister,’ Niall settles down a little more comfortably in bed, imagines Isla’s smile. ‘As a citizen of the great nation of Ireland and a budding national treasure I retain all my rights to—’
‘Shut up,’ she laughs. ‘What do you want?’
‘Nothing, really,’ Niall admits, shrugging his shoulders even though Isla can’t see. ‘Couldn’t sleep, thought you might be able to bore me to death.’
‘Time’s it for you?’ Niall hears a gust of wind down Isla’s end of the phone, bites back the sudden urge to ask if she’s wearing a jacket.
‘Uh, nearly four in the morning. I’m in New York.’
‘Sick. Have you eaten one of those massive hot dogs?’
‘Yeh, first day we got here,’ Niall laughs. It had been one of the first things he and Liam did. ‘They’re so good.’
‘You there for a few more days? Hasn’t your mam got cousins in New York? You should call round.’
‘I did, saw them the other day. The kids are super cute,’ he ignores the stirring in his stomach, the way it gives him butterflies to know that Isla remembers these kinds of things. This is strictly platonic. He carries on, ‘don’t want to talk about me, though. What are you up to? Sounds like you’re outside.’
‘Observational,’ Isla laughs, and Niall imagines her giggling in the early morning sunlight, March frost curling in the air. ‘I stayed over at Emilia’s last night, just came out in the garden to take your call since she’s still asleep.’
‘Oh, did ya? Girls’ night?’
‘No, bit of a party, actually,’ Isla says, and Niall hates how it clangs in his stomach, hates how he still feels left out knowing that his friends are having fun without him, that life carries on when he’s away. His life now is more exciting than he ever could have imagined—yet somehow the thought of his mates drinking cans in Mully’s basement without him makes him jealous, makes him forget about just how much he dreamt of what he has now. ‘Everyone was here.’
‘Ah, what was the occasion?’ Niall tries to keep his voice light, not like he’s digging. ‘Paddy’s Day, or?’
‘Yeah, Paddy’s Day. And celebrating, too.’
‘Celebrating what?’ Niall feels suddenly like he’s missed something.
‘Uh, me,’ says Isla, sounding a little embarrassed, and a little confused. ‘I, erm. I got into King’s College last week. The law program.’
It feels like he’s been in a car, going 75 miles on the freeway, and had to slam on the breaks. It feels like whiplash, like falling on his face, like that hammer from earlier, bang, bang, fucking bang, life goes on without him. ‘Isla,’ he manages to say, deep breath in, deep breath out, ‘what the fuck?’
‘Sorry?’ she asks, confused. ‘What do you mean what the fuck?’
‘You didn’t tell me?’ He tries not to sound angry, accusatory, but there’s a feeling he doesn’t recognize bubbling over in his stomach. The fact that something like this could happen in Isla’s life and he didn’t get to be a part of it makes him feel like someone else.
‘Niall, we agreed—’
‘This counts as an emergency,’ he insists, sitting up in bed. He feels cold all of a sudden, like he wants a blanket, or her body, on top of him. ‘Isla, holy shit. I’m so fucking happy for you. I mean, I knew you’d get in but still, fuck, I can’t believe this is happening.’ It’s not a lie, the fact that he’s happy for her. But, he thinks, a rank feeling he doesn’t like still curdling away in his stomach, it’s not the whole truth. He should’ve been there with her when she got in. He hates himself for not.
‘Thanks,’ Isla’s smiling, birds singing in the distance. Niall imagines her with her face turned toward the sun, her eyes closed, her arms wrapped around her body. He imagines her in his Derby jumper, the one he’d left in Mullingar for her to keep. ‘It’s a crazy feeling, isn’t it? I guess both our dreams have come true in the end.’
‘Yeah,’ Niall says, a tight cramp forming in his stomach, a lump pressing against his throat. ‘I guess they have.’
He can think of at least one dream of his own that hasn’t.

NFL Football Team Cocktails - Drinks For Every Roster
Tumblr media
Game Day Drinks And Cocktails For All 32 NFL Football Teams
Football season means great tailgate parties away at the stadium for home games and at your in home bar for away games when your team is on road. These NFL football team inspired cocktails* will give you lots of game day party ideas for themed drinks for all 32 NFL teams out on the gridiron.
The cocktails were chosen based on a number of factors including team names, colors, mascots, player and squad nicknames as well as city, regional and state monikers, landmarks, festivals and more. A few were created as signature drinks for specific football teams, but most were added to the roster because they were a good fit for that club.
Whether its pre-season scrimmages, regular season games or the playoffs; Wild Card, Divisional, Conference and the Superbowl, there's a drink listed here that's perfect for your pigskin party. Some of the squads have several symbolic sips which lets you substitute your drink line-up based on the schedule.
So, with one hand waving your favorite team's foam finger shouting you're #1 and the other hand free for a refreshment, the only question is:
Are You Ready For Some NFL Football Team Cocktails?
American Football Conference Team Themed Drinks
Tumblr media
AFC East
Buffalo Bills:
Buffalo Bill - equal parts apple cider or juice and bourbon or rye whiskey.
Niagara Falls - a fancy drink named after the natural attraction nearby the city along the Canadian border.
Miami Dolphins:
Mojito - the national drink of Cuba is a favorite in Little Havana as well as one of the most popular cocktails in Florida and throughout the rest of the states.
New England Patriots:
New England Highball - when it comes to cocktails, what's better than a highball while watching football?
Red, White and Blue - a pousse-cafe drink layered in patriotic colors.
New York Jets:
Manhattan - along with Brooklyn has the highest concentration of fans according to a 2013 Facebook study.
Bronx - followed by Queens borough, the former home of Shea stadium, also love the J-E-T-S. This drink is basically an Income Tax cocktail minus the bitters.
Tumblr media
AFC North
Baltimore Ravens:
Purple Hooter - black raspberry liqueur colors these tailgate party potations plum perfect.
Cincinnati Bengals:
Bengal Tiger - the namesake is a tawny, red brandy drink while an original recipe adds black licorice stripes to an orange vodka cocktail that could be a spooky sip on Halloween too.
Cincinnati Cocktail - fill your favorite beer glass half full with a bold brew and top off with soda water.
Cleveland Browns:
Brown Cocktail - equal parts gin, light or dark rum and dry vermouth.
Brown Derby Drink - legendary football coach Paul Brown who the NFL team is named after was known for wearing his iconic hat on the gridiron sidelines. It was a fedora, but the (brown) derby is de rigueur.
Brown University Cocktail - their namesake college football team drink would love to be drafted by pros for game day. The “Brunonian” is equal parts bourbon and dry vermouth with a couple dashes of orange bitters.
Pittsburgh Steelers:
Black & Gold - refining iron ore put this steel town on the grid. Their NFL football team inspired gridiron drink adds a precious metal to the mix. Combine black vodka with gold flaked cinnamon schnapps two to one.
Monongahela Cobbler - named for one of the waterways which flows past Heinz Field (formerly Three Rivers Stadium) that's known for its rye whiskey.
Tumblr media
AFC South
Houston Texans:
Black Gold - a nod to the city's former franchise, the Houston Oilers.
Longhorn - another college sports team themed cocktail that would like to be drafted by the NFL, especially from the same great state and mascot. The burnt orange color of the University of Texas at Austin inspired this recipe with lemon rum, orange rum, vodka, orange vodka, orange soda, ice and oranges.
Indianapolis Colts:
Horse's Neck - this drink is named after its garnish.
Jacksonville Jaguars:
Jaguar - a Barina Craft original drink recipe that is spotted with southern sipping favorites.
Tennessee Titans:
Lynchburg Lemonade - Tennessee whiskey, sweet & sour mix, orange liqueur and lemon-lime soda makes a southern sip worth suing the distillery over.
Tennessee Tea - same as above, just substitute cola for lemon-lime soda.
Tumblr media
AFC West
Denver Broncos:
Orange Crush - this NFL football team inspired drink celebrates the nickname given to Denver's opponent crushing 3-4 defense and the Broncos bright colored home uniform jerseys in the 1970s.
Kansas City Chiefs:
Arrowhead Cocktails - the Chiefs' logo is carved in stone and one of these drinks is cherry.
Kansas City Ice Water - flows thru the fountains at Arrowhead stadium and in the veins of the players and fans who as of this writing boast the loudest sports crowd roar.
Las Vegas Raiders:
Casino Cocktails - now that the team is located in the Entertainment Capital of the World, famous for gambling and other activities throughout all the city's mega casino-hotels, these drinks are a sure bet for Raiders fans.
Oakland Raider Cocktail - a black rum and cola mixed with a shot of silver tequila over ice. This silver and black drink symbolizes Raider Nation whether they're playing in Oakland, Los Angeles or Las Vegas.
Los Angeles Chargers:
Charger Cocktail - toast the team's moniker to 'charge' when the bugle call sounds with this cherry brandy and rum sour.
San Diego Seabreeze - this legacy drink preserves team history. 1 oz vodka, ½ oz each blackberry brandy and blueberry & raspberry schnapps, plus 2 oz each orange and pineapple juice in a tall collins glass over ice.
National Football Conference Team Themed Drinks
Tumblr media
NFC East
Dallas Cowboys:
Cowboy Cocktail - throw the cream away and drink the shot of whiskey straight up.
Fedora Cocktail - in honor of their legendary head coach Tom Landry who wore his heralded headgear on the sidelines for 29 seasons.
Thanksgiving Cocktails - dubbed America's team, they always play football on this holiday.
New York Giants:
The New York Cocktail - the entire state loves the NY Football Giants, except for parts of the city per Facebook 2013. This is an interesting whiskey sour style drink with rye, lime juice, grenadine and an old fashioned sugar cube.
Philadelphia Eagles:
Eagle Cocktail - Philly is the perfect roosting place for this classic drink.
Eagle's Dream - sugar and egg whites substitute for maraschino liqueur in this variation of the Aviation drink recipe.
Washington Commanders:
Cherry Blossom - this national flowering festival held locally is closely associated with the area as is a rumored story of a namesake founding father chopping down a certain tree.
Gin Rickey - “air conditioning in a glass” is the unofficial official drink of D.C.
Political Cocktails - any number of these drinks could be served at a game day party in this city if you want to mix politics with religion, er, football that is.
Tumblr media
NFC North (Black and Blue Division)
Chicago Bears:
The Chicago Cocktail - pretty fancy for football but it is the city's namesake drink.
Detroit Lions:
Lion's Tail - Detroit is one of two NFL teams along with Dallas to always play a game on Thanksgiving to start the Xmas holidays so the use of an allspice liqueur, dubbed “Christmas in a glass” by Murray Stenson, in combination with the drink's name make this cocktail a perfect match. 2 oz bourbon, ½ oz each pimento dram and lime juice, ½ tsp simple syrup and 1 dash aromatic bitters.
Green Bay Packers:
Blood and Sand - Johnny ‘Blood’ McNally, who took his nickname from the movie and loved to sing Galway Bay while standing up on bar table tops, was a star player for four championship Packer teams in Green Bay and one of the original members inducted into the Pro Football Hall Of Fame.
Brandy Old Fashioned - to wet your whistle in Wisconsin, just replace the bourbon or rye you normally use in the recipe.
Minnesota Vikings:
Purple People Eater Elixir - raise your Viking drinking horn and toast possibly the best defensive line of any football team in NFL history.
Scandinavian Glogg - this Nordic mulled wine really packs a punch.
Tumblr media
NFC South
Atlanta Falcons:
Georgia Peach Cocktails - did you know some suggested the Falcons be christened after the official state fruit?
Scarlett O'Hara & Rhett Butler - these two drinks are both named after characters in Gone With The Wind which was set in and around Atlanta.
Carolina Panthers:
Carolina Iced Tea - spiced rum, vodka and both peach liqueur & schnapps along with some southern style sweet tea in a tall glass or mason jar.
New Orleans Saints:
Sazerac - the official drink of New Orleans often referred to as America's oldest cocktail.
Vieux Carré - the signature drink of the French Quarter named after the “old square” at the center of the Crescent City.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers:
Bumbo - a pirate's poison.
Filibuster - although its more closely associated with politics these days, the word originally derives from the Dutch term vrijbuiter for pirate, which means "to plunder," where vrij means "free" and buiter means "booty."
Tumblr media
NFC West
Arizona Cardinals:
Cardinal Cocktail - a Kir drink variation also known as Communard which substitutes red wine for white.
Los Angeles Rams:
Greatest Show On Turf - a nickname for the team's record breaking offense during the 1999 through 2001 National Football League seasons when they were the Saint Louis Rams.
Ram Cocktail - seems appropriate that the helmet battering Rams namesake drink is a variation of a Harvey Wallbanger.
San Francisco 49ers:
Barbary Coast Cocktails - a pair of pigskin party picks named after the city's seedy, crime ridden, red-light district during the California gold rush and beyond. One drink has equal parts gin, scotch whisky, white chocolate creme de cacao and light cream or half and half. The other is mixed with dry gin, cherry brandy, lemon juice and grenadine.
Frisco Sour - the tasteless moniker given to this gold drink garnished with a red cherry which matches the football team colors.
Seattle Seahawks:
Emerald City - a signature drink for this city with the blue green nickname whose major league football, baseball and soccer teams all sport these colors.

Good Things From My 2017
I met my niece! (She snuck in at the tail end of 2016 but I didn’t meet her until February.) And I got to celebrate her first birthday with her.
My little baby cousin was born in January and I was able to spend a lot of time with her and her brother this year. Also, I went to her christening in November and it ended up being a really fun, good day.
My cousin threw a Kentucky Derby party including themed food and costumes.
I got hired for my first ever PAID FILM JOB! I’m a professional filmmaker! Ten years after graduation and my high school is still giving me excellent things.
I went to judge senior film projects there, which I always enjoy because I like keeping up with what’s going on there; I’m like a mythical being because I graduated way back in ‘08; I feel like a professional; I love seeing how hard the students work and how very often their films are really excellent; and they give us lunch. This year it was authentic Mexican food by a presenter’s grandparents who were the subject of her movie about them and how they immigrated to America and started their restaurant, which while not objectively the best film I saw that day it was easily my favorite. I also ran into High School Boy’s brother, of all people, who I haven’t seen since 2010. Not only do I believe this was A Message but he was kind of my friend so it was cool to see him in and of itself.
Incidentally, High School Boy interacted with me via Facebook for the first time in years. I’d like to take this opportunity to put it out there that I would like this to keep happening.
I won my Social Security claim. Not only is having the money a huge relief but so is having the hearing over and done with. I want the Universe and my lawyer and my doctors and the medical expert and the judge to know how exceedingly grateful I am that this worked out in my favor. Thank you all!
I went into Boston on the fourth of July, wandered around, ate really good Indian food, had dinner served by a Bulgarian waiter (which included trying a sardine for the first time, they’re really good!), and had cannollis for dessert before watching the fireworks from our hotel room. I relish having spent a relatively international Independence Day in a diverse city as an act of patriotism in a shitty political climate.
I went to my first ever clambake and ate my first ever whole lobster and smoked (two puffs of) a cigar and saw my first firefly and it was one of the most fun days of the summer. Summer also brought my twenty-seventh birthday and my little cousin’s third birthday and our respective celebrations.
I went to see a live performance of Les Mis for the first time and thought it was fantastic! Other theatre highlights from this year include The Lion King, Chicago, my friend’s production of Marat/Sade, and a Forever Plaid that I saw not two nights ago and was super impressed by despite not having high expectations.
I went to New Hampshire for a long weekend with my cousin’s family and it ended up being the most fun vacation I’ve had since Disney World in 2008. We went shopping, spent a day at Trading Post, went to the Fryberg Fair (which kind of sucked but I got to see draft horses and sheep and goats and a pig with piglets and cows and long horns and eat a fried dough and a really good wrap and drink hot apple cider), and rode a gondola up to the summit of Mount where I had the best hot chocolate I’ve had in recent memory.
Two new Fratellis’ songs were released, and there’s a new album and a concert to look forward to in 2018!
I had so much fun buying Christmas/birthday presents for everyone this year, especially the family babies, as I actually had money to work with.
The world was gifted with another Star Wars movie. I went to see it on premiere night, when the energy is electric, and I enjoyed it very much. I think this trilogy is doing really cool things in regards to how stories are important to human lives and actions, and how the way we mythologize people and their stories can ignite change, and if not change, at least hope. And rebellions are built on hope.
I rebelled this year. Most of us rebelled together, and I couldn’t be more proud.
Happy New Year, everyone! I wish you comfort, safety, love, and joy in 2018.

Men’s fashion guide for event wear: Find the right shirt for every occasion
A man and his shirt share a story like none other. Shirts become a quintessential part of the men’s wardrobe from a very young age. Be it school, college, or work, wearing a shirt has become the norm. Even the festive and party wear for men consists of a variety of shirts paired with pants. Shirts are this versatile because of the wide range of style and fabric options available. And today, we plan on sharing some dressing ideas for different occasions and finding the right shirt to meet your requirements.
Different types of men’s shirts and outfit ideas for every occasion
Casual shirts & outfits
Going for the laidback look? Well, you can always swap your t-shirt with a nice plaid or gingham checked shirt with rolled-up sleeves and open buttons. Yes, that’s the casual look that you should be an option for especially if you are into smart casuals that work for every occasion.
Some more casual dressing combinations include denim jeans paired with polo shirts, chinos paired with casual shirts, and hoodies worn with khaki or cargo pants. Casuals work best when you pick something from the comfort zone of your wardrobe.
Office shirts
The office culture has been changing rapidly over the years. Once the office attire was dominated by suits and ties with crisp shirts and polished shoes. But now you can spot your colleagues wearing linen, flannel, Oxford, and other types of checked button-down shirts. Pair these with jeans or chinos and you are good to go with or without a tie.
Formal shirts
Consider twill, jacquard, and herringbone shirts for all the formal events in the office. These shirts work well with 3 piece suits and jackets. Buy the right shirt with the perfect collar type and complete the look with a professional tie. Colors like white, blue, and light cream are must-have when it comes to formal dress shirts. A spread collar, tied knot, and French cuffs add a benevolent flair to your boardroom outfit.
Travel shirts
These are the sturdy shirts that you can wear without washing for quite some time especially if you are on the road. Army and khaki prints look good and so does the denim variety. Travel shirts are specifically designed keeping in mind the comfort, flexibility, and multiple requirements that arise while you are on the road. Button-down shirts in solid colors work like a charm.
Pair a shirt jacket with a t-shirt or an undershirt and get going. While layering your travel outfit keep the weather in mind so that you don’t end up feeling hot or cold.
Party shirts
All your printed, branded and aesthetic looking shirts come under this category. Planning to look cool effortlessly? Well, pair a shirt in darker colors than your usual office shirts with a festive tie or better yet denim jeans with a fashionable jacket, these looks are here to stay. A lightweight jacket paired with a graphic tee that captures the vibes of the party is a great alternative too.
Lounge wear
These shirts call for added attention to detail be it the fabric, design, or collar type. These are comfortable shirts worn at home or even your hotel lobby while on a tour. Lounge wear is all about comfort culture and pleasing looks that do not stress you to dress up. Wear your comfiest shirt and look your best. Cargo and Bermuda shorts paired with some nice shirt looks great especially while you are sightseeing or on tours.
Vacation shirts & Beachwear
A classic Hawaiian shirt with a beach print is what you should be looking for. Beachwear consists of half sleeve shirts paired with shorts and some good flip flops. You plan on relaxing and so a good cotton shirt that soaks the sweat and keeps you cool is worth investing in lighter fabrics and cool prints and patterns set the mood right.
Carry a nice pair of shades and hat/cap to complete your vacation attire. Dress as per the weather and make the most of your tours and trips.
Festive shirts
Be it Christmas, New Year, or Diwali you can find a shirt that captures every vibe. Right from patterns to print and designs, you can find the desired festive look at spanishonelook.com. Find special discounts and offers on-site and add the latest apparel pieces to your wardrobe.
Want to look sharp whatever be the occasion? Well, follow these styling tips to help you dress well for events and parties.
Select the right accessories: Pair your formal shirts with cufflinks and wristwatches to dress up the entire attire. Wear the right type of tie with your collared shirts and also look into different tie knots like Windsor, Cape, and Four in Hand, etc. and select one that goes with the occasion.
You can also wear bracelets and accessorize your outfit. Some quirky socks and matching belts that go with your shoes must be looked into.
Try to keep your outfit simple. Especially when experimenting with a new style you must do so within your comfort zone.
Select the right type of footwear as per the occasion be it an Oxford, Derby, Loafer, Lace-up, or Slip-on shoes, finding the right shoes is important. Branded sneakers and stylish crocs can also be worn occasionally.
There are other outfits options beyond shirts that include kurtas, traditional dhoti, and sherwani among other options. It is important to stay in touch with your cultural roots and try outfits that reflect your true vibes. Pair these clothes with mojari shoes and juttis for men that stand apart from your casual footwear and shoes. Also, like a modern twist to your shirts, you can pair it with a pagadi and create a wholesome vibe all by itself.
Be it a kurta, sherwani, shirt or a 3-piece suit find your perfect outfit, and wear it with all your macho swag! Here’s to dressing up in style and maintaining the fashion quotient.

England’s new meal deal won’t deliver… but Jamie Vardy’s having a barbie at £2.5m mansion
English football players may have been delighted last week when the FA announced a multi-year sponsorship agreement with food delivery app Deliveroo .
The prospect of a sneaky Nando & # 39; s or KFC being delivered directly to their hotel rooms in St George & # 39; s Park will undoubtedly have been a celebration of celebration under Gareth Southgate
However, their hopes would soon have been swept away when they went to their first order because the English headquarters, given the remote location in the Staffordshire countryside, is not on the list of places that Deliveroo serves.
England may have signed a deal with Deliveroo, but they don't & # 39; t deliver to St George & # 39; s Park
VARDY HAS A BARBIE!
Leicester City Striker Jamie Vardy has won a bid to build an outdoor kitchen and dining area in his £ 2.5 million country house.
Vardy & # 39; s eight-bedroom luxury path already has an indoor swimming pool, sauna, cinema, bar, tennis court and gym.
Now he wants to add a rear extension, including a new garden room and an external covered dining area to entertain his guests. The hospitable Vardy famously threw a party in his former home to celebrate Leicester being crowned Premier League champions in 2016 when Chelsea held Tottenham to a draw.
And he will be well prepared for his new country house in the Leicestershire countryside to throw a huge barbecue bash as the foxes repeat the trick.
Jamie Vardy has won a bid to build an outdoor kitchen and dining area in his £ 2.5m townhouse
SNOOKER & BREAKING SLOWLY PLAYING
Snail-paced potters have long been the scourge of snooker, but slow play seems to be on the way.
In 2017, the sport decided to name and shame those who sat at the table for too long. And the latest figures show that the trick has had the desired effect.
The number of players that have fallen on average for more than 30 seconds from 12 to four in the past two seasons. No surprise, however, to see Peter Ebdon as one of the quartets, with an average recording time of 30.04 seconds. A notoriously considered competitor, the Londoner – whose final defeat of 2006 by Graeme Dott ended in 2006 at 12.52 pm – has often had the mickey removed from him by competition chairman Barry Hearn.
When he heard that Ebdon swam a mile a day to prepare for the big tournament, Hearn commented: & # 39; Well – with a bit of luck, this means he will be 365 miles away next year & # 39;
Did the ONE hear about ENGLISH BATSMEN?
Australia has used a secret weapon in their successful quest to preserve the urn in the form of a joke of the day.
Before every day starts, the players gather in a jumble on the outer field, where cameraman and editor Andre Mauger from Cricket Australia tells them a gag.
Whether England & # 39; s wobbly batting line-up has ever been the punchline is unknown.
Australia players celebrate after taking a wicket on the last day of the fourth Ashes test
AMAZON DOES DOUBLE ERROR
that it gets a grip on their technical gremlins before showing the Christmas Premier League matches
Last week, the broadcasting service went under for two hours to those who tried to log in to the US Open tennis, giving viewers the quarter finals of the gentlemen could not see. Amazon has & # 39; temporary issues & # 39; blamed it.
Fortunately for Amazon, PR screening in London was not affected by blackout because those who signed up from the start of the game were not affected – causing them to be pretty embarrassed. Some viewers complained about further problems on Friday and Saturday nights, during the men's semi-final and women's final.
Although the problems seem to have largely gone under the radar, repeating in the middle of a round of boxing Day football matches can cause massacre.
WIGAN KEEP IT LOCAL
Their new mascot can be a giant cake, but Wigan is really athletic – at least when it comes to international holidays.
Some clubs used the gap between competitions to go to a sunnier climate, but sober officials on the Lancashire side took a different approach. Not for them to drink champagne for a week in Marbella.
Instead, Paul Cook and his championship cartoons were sent north to the Lake District for a training camp. And if that wasn't enough reason for a moan, who was waiting for them when they got there? The special boat service.
Wigan Athletic & # 39; s championship side new contest day mascot looks like a walking cake
CONTRAST OF MANCHESTER CLUBS CLEAR IN DERBY
It was interesting to follow the different approaches of the Manchester clubs on Twitter after the Women & # 39; s Super League derby, which attracted more than 31,000 visitors to Etihad Stadium.
Each has accounts for their ladies' teams, but that didn't stop City's main feed tweeting more than a dozen times over the 1-0 win, while United didn't mention that once.
And they were not the only ones who did not want to talk, wit h United manager Casey Stoney fails to fulfill her media duties. United says that the blunt unintended and a & # 39; malfunction in communication & # 39; used to be.
Casey Stoney (right) was unable to fulfill her media duties due to a & # 39; communication breakdown & # 39;
FUTURE OF SKI REGULATION IN DOUBT
The future of Gian Franco Kasper, president of skiing in the FIS governing body, seen as one of the last dinosaurs there is much debate in the sports administration.
Sources Have Told Sports Diary The controversial 75-year-old Swiss, who has been in office since 1998, apologized earlier this year after referring to & # 39; so-called climate change & # 39; and claimed that dictators were good event hosts.
Now he has told senior colleagues & # 39; s privately that he wants to resign next year. The FIS deny that this is the case. One to keep an eye on in the coming months.

Huntington Hartford Theater is Where My Life Changed
I also spend some time with Mr. Burr before the show being presented (which meant most of the day). I had an incredible experience with Mr. Burr, but will not share it on this Blog. Over time we had many celebrities visiting us in the office. Helen Hays, Elizbeth Taylor, Rock Hudson and many more. This list doesn’t even mention some of the most famous producers in the industry. Joe Barbera and Bill Hanna who produced many of the cartoon series of the time were in attendance many times. They were credited with changing the methods of creating animation. The most famous was “The Flintstones”. So many successful producers attended shows at the Greek that I could go on forever.
My time at the Greek was an incredible learning experience but nothing compared to my experiences at the Huntington Hartford Theater. It was where I learned everything that changed my life. The Huntington Hartford only did plays and had an incredible season every year. First, the woman who was in charge of season ticket holders was Countess Florencia Falzone. She was an incredible woman, who had 6 children, probably from several different men (with the likely exception of the Count). She had many admirers and was always receiving gifts from them of incredible value. One of the largest diamond rings I ever saw was given to her as a friendship ring with no strings attached. I mention all this because she was considered royalty in Beverly Hills and managed to bring in many very prominent season ticket holders for the theatre. I got to know her quite well, I remember when I couldn’t afford to get a television. She told me she had a couple of large televisions in her garage and I was welcome to them. I thanked her and rushed to go get one which worked beautifully. Another thing she did for me was hiring my wife as her assistant in the Season Ticket Department at the theatre. Of course, this was with the blessings of Mr. Doolittle. The hiring of my wife helped us meet our living expenses. Our life at this point was making many massive changes for the good. It started when one of my fellow classmates at the Pasadena Playhouse, Sally Struthers, got a recurring role on the Smothers Brothers show and she ultimately started dating Tommy Smothers.
The reason this helped my wife and I was the fact that Tommy Smothers decided to produce the musical “Hair” at the Aquarius Theatre in Hollywood. I can’t remember what the deal was, but my wife got loaned to the theatre to work with their opening night and celebrity ticket sales. This was all possible because of my on-again / off-again relationship with Sally. Also, we got to meet Tommy Smothers several times, as well as Jim Rado & Gerome Ragni who wrote the music and the show. We also got to spend some time with the cast. My wife moved over to the theatre and worked directly with Harry Blackstone who was, at the time, the General Manager of the Aquarius. Harry, for those of you that know your magic, k was one of the most famous Magicians in the country. He got us into the Magic Castle in Beverly Hills many times. Back then you had to be a magician or be sponsored by one in advance to gain entrance. They have opened it up somewhat today, however. The reason I bring this all up is because of my wife and friendships, we got two great tickets to the opening as well as the after-show party. The after-show themed party was mind-blowing (just like the show). Mentioning the show, it was absolutely at the time like nothing ever produced. It was so different and exciting and one of the first musicals to have a nude scene.
But the thing I remember the most was the after-party, which we attended with Josie Pollack, the booking agent for the Greek Theatre. I got to know Josie quite well and we became fast friends. Josie knew everybody who was anybody in Hollywood and was close friends with them. I have many other stories of the time I spent in her company. The party was phenomenal!
The producers had put up a massive tent in what was originally the parking lot. It was what I saw that night that gave me a sense of what a themed event could be, and the memory of the event set me up for what I wanted to do later in my life. Everybody who was anybody in Hollywood was there. The list of celebrities was endless. I remember the night to this day. The food and beverages were first class, the seafood, the specialty food stations were numerous, caviar, fillets and just about everything you could want. It also had at least 12 open bars and a staff of 24 minimum passing hors d’ oeuvres. They must also have poured 1000 bottles of champagne.
That night, my wife and I within the company of Josie Pollack, met many stars and producers. The one I remember the most was Liberace. I spent most of the time being chased around the event by him and no matter how much I tried to explain that was not into that kind of behavior, he just wouldn’t give up. He finally did, however, give up. Other than that, he was really quite nice to my wife and I. I later found out that he went to Josie Pollack and got my wife and I’s birthdays, Anniversary and address. With this information, he would always send my wife and I a present on our birthdays, anniversaries and at Christmas time. He also would send me five first row tickets to his performances in Las Vegas. We got these presents every year until he passed away. I was told that he literally did this for almost 1000 people he had met over the years.
Once we had attended the show and went back to the Greek and Huntington Hartford my wife did stay on, however, in the ticket department at the Aquarius as the Countess left the theatre and hired a new woman to run the Season Sales Department. She turned out to be great, and we got to know her and her husband quite well. As I mentioned before, my wife would suffer from depression and the new woman was a Christian Scientist and did her best to convert her to the faith, which seemed to help her a lot. It didn’t necessarily help me, as I never endorsed the faith, but we didn’t have any children so I didn’t object to her involvement.
Things really started happening for me at the Greek & Hartford (mostly the Hartford). I was getting some incredible opportunities there. First, I had the opportunity to meet Gregory Peck and his wife and one night at the theatre he invited me to join him and his wife for dinner across the street at the Brown Derby. There was another couple invited as well but I don’t remember their names. I do remember them as being quite nice. The evening was as memorable as I was star struck and he was one of my favorite actors of all time. Also, back then if my wife drank wine it would be fortified and cost a couple of dollars a gallon, This night, however, will remain in my mind forever as Mr. Peck ordered two bottles of wine that cost almost $1,500.00 a bottle. They had a Sommelier come to the table and decant the wine and serve it to us. I must admit I absolutely hated it, it tasted moldy to me. Of course, we just had no pallet for the wine of that vintage and quality. It took years for me to develop a taste for good vintages and, for that matter, spend more than $10.00 for a bottle of wine. Today, however, it’s a bit different. But I will always remember that evening,
Another evening I will never forget was when Josie Pollack decided to go out for a couple of drinks after a show and ended up at Daisies (which was a bar that a lot of celebrities went to after they did their live shows). We came into the place and got a high top table and settled in as Josie went off to say hello to some of her friends. At some point, she came back and we were just sitting there talking when Sammy Davis Jr. Came to the table to say hello to Josie and took a seat. I have to say he was a lot shorter than I could imagine. Josie introduced me and we all engaged in conversation. We had been talking for about 15 minutes when all of a sudden, up comes Johnny Carson to say hello to Josie and Sammy Davis. We sat around talking about our day when Johnny Carson asked if anybody was hungry. We all agreed that we could have a bite, so Johnny he could get a limo from the studio and we could head over to Chasen’s (famous for its Chili) for dinner. The limo arrived and off we went to the restaurant. When we got there, we were refused admission as we did not have a coat and tie. I couldn’t believe it, it was Johnny Carson and Sammy Davis Jr. and they wouldn’t admit us without a coat and tie. We started to leave when Johnny Carson held back and he said let’s all get back in the limo. He had a suite at the Sheraton so we all went to his suite and he then distributed ties, and sports jackets to me and Sammy Davis which was hilarious. When he got into one of Johnny’s jackets (wasn’t all that bad as Johnny was a very short man as well). I, however, looked ridiculous. Johnny removed his shirt as the restaurant hadn’t said anything about having to have a shirt. Back we went and the restaurant had to let us in as we were wearing coats and ties. That was a hoot.
Had another interesting evening of fun when my wife and I went to the Beverly Wilshure Hotel for dinner and were sitting in the lobby waiting for some friends to join us. A Frairs Club Dinner was going on in one of the ballrooms at the time. At some point, Don Rickles and Redd Fox came out of the ballroom and into the lobby and Rickles started doing his act with all of us in the lobby. Fortunately for us, Sydney Poitier came into the lobby and Rickles started in on him. It was hilarious. Sydney could not stop laughing. Rickles told him that if he hadn’t become an actor he would have ended up as a naked druggist from the Bronx. You had to be there. It was an evening that no one in that lobby will ever forget.

Europa Park Germany - A Friends & Family Fun Place
Tumblr media
Visiting the historic locations and spectacular scenery in Germany is fun and intriguing, but after many days of sightseeing you may prefer to head to a themed fun park instead. The best fun park should have entertainment for the entire family, with plenty of opportunities to sit down and enjoy a good meal. Europa Park Friends & Family Fun Place in Germany is exactly what your family needs after a hectic travel schedule. Best of all, it’s also located next to France, so you can get two countries into your vacation schedule.

  What is Europa Fun Park?
Europa Fun Park is the largest theme park in Germany, and is the second most popular theme park in Europe, not quite being able to beat Disneyland, Paris in popularity. The Park is located in Rust, which is a town in the southwestern part of the country between Freiburg and Strasbourg, France. It’s owned by the Europa-Park company.

The Fun Park was initially built in 1975, and features quaint European village settings. It gets over 6 million visitors per year from around the world.
If you love rides, this park has over 103 rides, with 13 roller coasters. Rides can vary from fun for young children, to extremely scary for mature teens or adults.
The park is split into over twenty different themed regions. Most of them are related to countries—Austria, England, Greece, Italy, Russia, Spain, etc., but there is also Adventureland, Arthur, and Grimm’s Enchanted Forest.
Besides the theme parks there are specific shows that run temporarily or permanently throughout the year. There are also seasonal events during the year, such as for Halloween or Christmas. Don’t worry if you’re not big on rides, as you can choose the tamer ones, or simply watch the kids, or enjoy one of the many other attractions around the park.
When you visit the fun park expect to spend at least two or three days exploring everything it has to offer. There are also five resort hotels on site, or you can stay at one of the smaller motels in town.
The Park also has gift shops located around the park, with some of their own special characters. You can purchase stuffies of Edda Euromausi or Ed Euromaus. There are also many CDs and DVDs available so you can rewatch your theme park experiences when you return home.
How Can We Get Around the Park?
You can simply walk around all the themed areas, or you can hop on the Monorail system to get between areas. In 1990, this monorail system was built, and is called the EP Express. It was also extended in 2016.
The park is disability-accessible, though you may not be able to go on all the attractions or shows. Some of the rides also have age or height and weight restrictions. You may also rent a wheelchair for minimal cost. You can email or call in advance to ensure that they have one available during your stay. Many shows have reserved seating for wheelchairs.
Parents may use strollers for their children, but you may have to set them aside before entering certain attractions or rides.
You can also pick up a free park map upon entry into the park so you can plan your attack. It’s best to visit the country attractions in order, rather than bouncing back and forth and wasting your time.

Voletarium—The Newest Attraction for 2017
The Fun Place is constantly maintaining and expanding. For 2017, the latest attraction is Voletarium. This is a flying theatre, and is one of the biggest in Europe. It consists of films and a moving simulator, and takes about five minutes to fly through. This ride has been one of the most expensive ride investments to date.
On the Voletarium you can to sit in antique-style seating, which lifts you up into the air and makes you feel like you’re soaring through the skies. If you’ve ever dreamed of flying like a bird, this is going to be your best experience. During your ride, you’ll be able to see the natural parts of Europe at its best. Soar above waterfalls or canyons. This is a trip that is for the entire family.
After you have gotten off your ride, you can shop for gifts in the gift shop, use the toilet facilities, and get a bite to eat at the snack shops.
Themed Area Highlights of Europa Park
There are many different themed areas throughout the park. Some suit young kids, some teenagers, and some adults. In Adventureland, the African Queen will take you on a boat ride around the lake. There is a water playground for the kids. In Arthur, there are slides, a rollercoaster, and a carousel. Austria has the Vienna Wave Swing ride. In England, there is the London Bus—a magic carpet ride, the Crazy Taxis—a demolition derby, and the British Carousel. France has the scary Hypercoaster, which is the third tallest and the fifth fastest roller coaster in the world.
Besides the Voletarium in Germany, there is the Elf Ride, which is a boat ride, and the Panorama Train Station. Greece has the Atlantis Adventure and Flight of Icarus balloon ride. In Grimm’s Enchanted Forest you’ll get to see Cinderella, Dwarf City, and Little Red Riding Hood.
Iceland has a scary inverted roller coaster, Litill Island, and Timburcoater. Ireland is Children’s World with small rides for the kids. Italy has Ghost Castle which is a lot like the Haunted Mansion in Disneyland. Russia has the Panorama train station. Spain has the Adventure Playground.
As you can see, there are a ton of things to do, and much more that can’t simply be listed here.
Food and Drink in Europa Fun Park
There’s no need to leave the park when you get hungry or thirsty. In fact, you won’t want to lose any time by leaving the park, simply to save a few dollars. It’s highly recommended that you stay in the park for the duration of your daily stay, so you can get your full money’s worth. The resort hotels also have several restaurants with a wide range of cultural offerings.
There are many cafes, restaurants and bars that you can choose. Many also support dietary restrictions, so even the fussy eater won’t go hungry.
The African Food Festival is being held this summer. Check the website to find out who the participating restaurants are.
Hosted Complementary Festivals
There are many festivals that are held each year in the Europa Park. The Euro Dance Festival is one of the most popular. It’s been held here since 2007. It offers a wide range of music and dancing styles, including hip hop, swing dance, breakdance, and ballroom dance.
There is also the Midsummer Party with fireworks every evening. If you’re planning on a visit, check in advance to see if there are any complementary events to make the most of your trip.
Future Developments for Europa Fun Place
Many families plan their trips a year or two, in advance. If you can wait for the 2018 or 2019 season, Europa-Park is building a huge water park. It’s about one kilometre away from the current theme park, but still close enough to fit in a visit easily.
There will also be a new resort hotel built on site. The company is investing over 140 million Euro dollars into this new venture. They have yet to give us any hints or tips as to what we can expect beyond this news. It’s also expected that the Monorail will eventually travel to this part of the park too.
Planning Your Trip to Europa Park
The park opens at 9:00 am in the morning and closes at 6:00 pm on most summer days, except in the event of special evening events. The winter season it is open 11:00 am to 7:00 pm. Check their website for updated information.
The park does open in the winter, which is exciting news for all travellers who can’t make it to Germany solely in the summer time. It’s believed the park may eventually be open year-round, and not just summer, or for Halloween or winter events. Note that certain rides may not run in the winter or in inclement weather conditions. During off-season many rides are also serviced. If you have your heart set on one, be sure that it will be running before you buy your plane or train tickets.
The website is located here: http://www.europapark.de/en/park/attractions-shows/voletarium. You can find information about nearly every aspect of your stay. If not, you can contact customer service for further information.
If you’re tired of Disneyland or Disneyworld, book your trip to Europa Park Friends & Family Fun Park in Germany. It’ll be a refreshing change from what you normally expect, and your entire family will have memorable experiences to last a lifetime.

Aubrey Plaza - June 19, 2017
Recent Conan appearances:
March 15, 2017 -
Her role as Lenny Busker on Legion (link)
The role of Lenny was originally meant to be played by a middle-aged man.
At the time she met with Legion writer, Noah Hawley, she had just recently torn her ACL and was on crutches, which potentially contributed to Hawley’s perception that she could play an angry male character.
When Legion first premiered, she had just finished a day of filming and went to a bar to watch the episode, but no one around her recognized she was in the show.
Red Hair (link)
For her film Ingrid Goes West, she had to die her hair red, which then prompted her to learn various facts about redheads, including the fact that redheads turn into vampires after they die.
Playing a Page (link)
Plaza played an NBC page on the show “30 Rock.”
Her role on the show was to introduce a tour group to the set of Late Night with Conan O’Brien.
Plaza was a page in real life for SNL and NBC, so for her 30 Rock appearance she wore the same uniform.
June 27, 2016
Her Birthday (June 26) (link)
Plaza hates her birthday because it makes her feel depressed about what she has not and will never get to do.
During her 2016 birthday, she watched one episode of Game of Thrones without watching any more from the series.
When she was on Anna Faris is Unqualified, there was a Parks and Rec reunion and she got birthday cupcakes.
Singing and Dancing (link)
She was forced to do a closing musical number for Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates.
She hates singing and dancing.
During her dance training, she remembered that when she was young, she competed in Irish River Dancing.
She attributes her awkwardness to the fact that she was trained in a dance that requires a straight face and minimal arm movement.
Mike and Dave Pranks (link)
When Mike and Dave was being shot, there were still real guests staying at the hotel at which the film was shot.
Plaza’s co-star, Sugar Lyn Beard, thought it would be entertaining to scare guests with gruesome makeup, which led to the production team being warned that cast members cannot harass hotel guests.
April 3, 2015
Audrey’s Mom + Airbnb (link)
Plaza’s mom booked an Airbnb, but the owner of the apartment failed to mention that he would be sleeping on the couch.
Her mom still wanted to stay there because the owner offered to take her bungee jumping.
Religious Upbringing (link)
Plaza grew up very Catholic.
She has a memory of seeing a seven-foot tall Easter Bunny placing Easter presents in her home.
Hormonal and Spiritual Unrest (link)
Plaza had recently been finding lots of bug bites all over her body.
Attributes bug bites to a “spiritual problem” and to the fact that she’s been “really hormonal lately”
Another way she’s noticed her hormones acting up is that she found herself repeatedly singing the words “kill” and “die.”
August 14, 2014
Summer (link)
Aubrey was the maid of honor for a wedding and was tasked with buying all the party supplies.
She purchased exclusively penis paraphernalia, including a cake that was so graphic, the show couldn’t air it.
Her mom opened up the box of penis paraphernalia and “loved it.”
For the party, two random strangers from the street were hired to be strippers.
Abdominal Injury (link)
While she was shooting, Plaza had to carry an oven on her back, which caused her to rip her abdominal wall.
She got her injury treated in London while she was shooting Parks and Rec by an “old-timey” English doctor.
Photobomb (link)
Photo recently emerged of Aubrey photobombing Katy Perry and Hillary Clinton.
Plaza joked that after the photobomb, Hillary confided in her that she was running for president.
February 12, 2014
Hugging (link)
Conan addressed a paparazzi photo of Aubrey and Amy Poehler hugging with Aubrey’s legs wrapped around Amy’s.
Plaza explaiined that she has a tendency to wrap her legs around people when she hugs them, which led to her grandpa calling her “Monkey” and giving her a monkey toy every year for Christmas.
Chris Bosh (link)
Plaza frequently tweets about her obsession with Miami Heat player Chris Bosh.
When he had a cameo on Parks and Rec, she hid in his trailer in hopes of meeting him.
She thought it would be funny to disguise herself as his hair dresser, but he didn’t recognize her, so she actually styled his hair.
Posted a photo of her and Bosh on her Twitter hoping he would reply.
Apocalypse Preparation (link)
Plaza recently shot a zombie movie, which prompted Conan to ask if she had plans in the event of a zombie apocalypse.
Plaza admitted she is always prepared for an apocalypse because she sleeps with a dagger on her bedside table.
Plaza conducts a weekly shanking drill in the event her home is invaded by a zombie or a murderer.
She likes to surround herself with people who have skills that would be useful in an apocalypse, so she gifted her boyfriend helicopter lessons for his birthday.
Conan offered to take flying lessons for her.
Other talk show appearances (sorted in chronological order)
Late Night with Seth Meyers (March 1, 2017)
Legion (link)
She had to wear a harness when her character died.
Inspired by her superhero show, Plaza said her superpower would be that when she ate something extremely spicy, her head would explode.
Legion is part of X-men universe.
One of her inspirations for her character, Lenny, was David Bowie.
The middle name of her character is Cornflakes, so she jokes that Lenny Cornflakes Busker sounds like the name of a stripper.
The creator of Legion also created the FX show Fargo.

Researched for her role as a nun in The Little Hours by reading a Bible that she stole from her hotel room.

Plaza has two rescue dogs named Stevie and Frankie, and she joked that she likes Frankie more.
Plaza attended Catholic school from Kindergarten through twelfth grade.
Her role as a nun in The Little Hours was especially fun for her because she “loves uniforms” ever since she wore one at Catholic school.
Plaza was a member of 4-H, which is a program for kids that encourages knowledge of agricultural skills.
Despite growing up in Wilmington, Delaware, which is a city, Aubrey has had farm experiences, such as sheering a sheep.
Plaza was about to receive Alumni Medallion award for her participation in 4-H.

In the movie Dirty Grandpa, Plaza was initially asked to play the love interest of Zac Efron, but she was hellbent on securing the part of DeNiro’s love interest.
For her Dirty Grandpa audition, Plaza threw out the script, said a bunch of dirty things into the camera, and then flashed her butt.
Although Dirty Grandpa is the story of a romance between a 70 year old man and a 20 year old woman, Plaza sees the movie as a love story where DeNiro has “met his match.”
Before the movie started, DeNiro gave the entire cast a bottle of wine and a encouraging note. In order to repay him for this gift, Plaza gave him a book of Zen Buddhism with a raunchy picture of her inside.
When Plaza and DeNiro shot their love scene, her bra had been rigged to pop off for a scene that was scrapped last minute, so as soon as DeNiro made a move towards her breasts, her bra flung off.

ACL and Wine Tasting (link)
Plaza tore her ACL playing basketball and initially had to be in a wheelchair.
For her gay best friend’s bachelor party, she went to a wine tasting in a wheelchair, and her friend was wearing a Santa suit, so the other wine tasting guests were afraid of their party.
Robert DeNiro’s Nipples (note from author: That is the first time I’ve ever gotten to use that as the title for a bullet point. It’s a big day.) (link)
The day she filmed her sex scene with Robert DeNiro lasted nine hours.
The director of Dirty Grandpa instructed her to suck on DeNiro’s nipples, but as soon as she tried it, DeNiro’s agent informed the director did not like his “nipple region” toyed with.
One of her proudest moments of shooting was when DeNiro complimented her acting after she was instructed to throw up and try to kiss him.
The Late Late Show with James Corden (March 31, 2015) (link)
Plaza studied abroad during college in Ghana at a documentary film program.
Her roommate in Ghana was a legitimate pirate named Jenny who was “straight off a boat from the Caribbean” and was always looking for treasure.
Miscellaneous interviews and clips
Gold Derby (June 14, 2017) (link)
Plaza was skeptical of the show Legion at first because she did not know where her character would end up.
Plaza was unfamiliar with the comic book Legion was based on before she started filming the show.
Plaza wanted to play the “villain that you love or that you like to hate.”
Plaza admits that sometimes playing Lenny Busker felt like playing completely different characters on totally different shows.
The Wrap (May 16, 2017) (link)
Before she was famous, Plaza performed improv at Upright Citizens Brigade Theater (UCB) in New York.
Some of the people she met at UCB included Aziz Ansari, Nick Kroll, Bobby Moinyhan, Donald Glover, Ben Schwartz, Kate McKinnon, Jenny Sate, Matt Walsh, Abby Jacobson, Zach Woods, Ellie Kemper, and T.J. Miller.
Off Camera with Sam Jones (August 12, 2016) (link)
Aubrey thinks she is the “worst talk show guest ever.”
She gets very uncomfortable going from a pre-interview to pretending that she’s having the conversation for the very first time.
She “can’t tell” when she’s making people uncomfortable.
Another unsettling part of talk shows for her is the fact that she has to be herself and she cannot perform as a character or a persona.
Her work in Dirty Grandpa was especially challenging because she had to make sure their unconventional relationship didn’t come across as “disgusting.”
Robert DeNiro was initially scared of her because of her character’s makeup, but as soon as he saw her not in character, he warmed up to her.
Teen Hag Trailer (February 10, 2008) (link)
Spoof of Teen Wolf trailer, where Plaza plays a high school girl, who transforms into a hag.
Despite her gruesome appearance, the hag earns praise and popularity from her high school peers.
John Milhiser also stars in the trailer.
