@ the anons I’ve accrued over this year who brought up Oscar not being embraced by the media team I’m still not going to post the asks bc there’s a lot of doom etc in there but like…

(and even tho it’s easy to find out who it is I’m not including who posted it bc do NOT want hate or anything in their comments and fandom issues =/= relevance to real life teams and their jobs)

and I get that to a media person the subjects are mostly valuable for how good they are on camera bc even Andrea only gets a passing mention in this post compared to a bromance and he’s the actual architect that Lando himself says is behind this win - but he’s also famously deer in the headlights when a camera is on him.

it does possibly explain why the quality and quantity of McLaren content took a sudden nosedive not long after Oscar joined. (side note that Joe also moved on from McLaren early this year who was on the media team and spent a lot of social time with Oscar and posted him more) it’s a lil sad bc if you watch any of Oscar’s Prema content where he feels comfortable and friendly with the people behind the cameras he’s hilarious and willing to “dance” and yap and be silly. even in Alpine he was actually known by broadcast teams for being funny and a sardonic yapper and meme guy. but I think the McLaren ppl mistook Oscar coming into the team in the worst possible way PR wise and clamming up as a result as that being his real personality. Nicole saying how she wanted more people to see his real personality and ironically Carlos himself warming so much to Oscar despite the on track rivalry and not rly hanging out like… I hope the media team maybe start this next season fresh and realize that people who aren’t naturals on camera are still worth putting in effort to help them relax and be themselves. and if one of the people who’s been there for so many years put in that effort then it would have a big ripple effect !!

again I am not gonna post those asks bc a)do NOT support any harassment (however well intentioned) of employees just doing their jobs and b)in the grand scheme of things socmed does not matter and c)Oscar thankfully is blissfully unaware and/or does NOT care. he brings up Carlos and Daniel and carland0 totally on his own and he is utterly free of ego about his perception or presence in McLaren media.

and while it definitely means less Oscar and therefore landoscar content per capita or whatever the phrase is, the whole landoscar dynamic is that it’s so completely not slick fun millennial YouTuber ready PR content and they’re funny and cute and have their own unique chemistry even in the under 2 minutes allowed them for each video. and ofc Oscar has his own social media to put his dry humor and chronically online references <3

but as I saw in comments on a different post, Oscar might take longer to win over the media people but the people who matter most like Andrea and the ppl in the garage and factory and crucially !! the women working directly with him all utterly utterly adore him. he’s quietly there just being a hard worker and proving himself <3

and ultimately ofc the people who don’t like that Lando said he’s decided to not joke or perform as much for media (and saying he picked up from Oscar to just be himself and relax more) can always go back to the old content! and since Carlos creates the same fun bromance atmosphere with all his teammates I mean we all know Team Torque is about to become one of the best parts of race week media. Williams media team is going to eat him UPPPP

anyway yea none of it is deep it just got me thinking about how Oscar post alpinegate withdrew so much and so many ppl haven’t looked up who he was before to realize what a fun silly chatty kitten he is and that ofc he must be bc Lando holds him in his hand lovingly for a reason - and I do think when the ppl who got used to the Carlos and Daniel school of media warm up to Oscar and learn him more we’ll get that high res DSLR filmed content again instead of portrait iPhone instagram <3

(side note the whole thing if Unboxed dropping bc of DTS got debunked. DTS hasn’t stopped any other teams content and if it were true then Lando wouldn’t be allowed to make Landologs. this was definitely a media team decision made midway thru 2023)

I have nothing else to yap so y'all are doomed to hear about my favorite dcst ships whether y'all like it or not. :)

XenoStan — Classic. Would be a shame not to start with them (half of my confessions are either XenoStan or something vaguely related to XenoStan alright okay good talk). They're so silly, so sillyy. Like. "Nerdy yapper who's on the run in 35 and pronounced dead in 10 states x a man (chronic smoker) who may or may not be a nuclear wast-eating genetically modified caterpillar in a human disguise" type of silly. There's so much of them I can talk about for hours but I came here to be annoying, not have deep dives in my OTPs. The meme potential of these two overshadows any possible drama anyway. Definitely married with a hundred pet cats that raid Xeno's lab three times daily.

Polygenerals — The utter chaos. It's like. Indescribable. Senku's mc rizz turned 180 degrees against him and he pulled four hot dudes instead (lives to regret it but loves them much anyway). You wouldn't be judged if you'll think their polycule is actually some satanic sect (they worship science and not the devil). In modern AU, they'd would have a group chat and if it could burn there would be FIRE. Chrome and Ryusui are a walking catastrophes, Gen and Senku are unhinged in their own unique, special way, and Ukyo is the only relatively sane one (but only by comparison, doesn't mean he does not partake in the weird shenanigans). There are a whole lot of other dudes who can be count as members of Senku's unhinged harem but the other four wise generals are the only 'canon members'.

RyuSai — Their backgroud makes me sad it's just so tragic af. I like the sheer hater energy that awakens inside Sai whenever Ryusui is around. Ryusui is sad because Sai starts acting passive agressive but doesn't show it and Sai feels horrible because he was passive agressive towards Ryusui. And then Sai made the worst decision in his life and left to tutor in the indian uni without telling Ryusui beforehand (lives to regret it BAD even tho Ryu already forgave him. Sai u prick.). They're cool now as far as the manga goes but still 10/10 angst potential. They should kiss idc I fw this ship hard.

SenXeno — "twin..... where have u been......"-aah. I actually can't say I, like. Actually ship them. Mostly I always talk about SenXeno in a context of Xeno cheating on his fiance with some japanese genius shota he met on the internet but if you dig deep enough this ship's kinda dope. I'd say they have a vibe similar to that of Chrome x Senku, birds of a feather type of stuff. Destiny brought them together but Xeno chose a big titty goth bf and Senku has four feral men to hold on leash anyway, R.I.P SenXeno y'all would've loved Spore. P.S. They have more of a father-son/uncle-nephew bond to me tbh. Ppl are blind the XenoStan son is obviously Senku not Gen bruh. Still should kiss tho.

LunaLotte — I think I started shipping them for kicks at first but this ship quickly grew onto me. They'd be so sweet tbh. Luna deserves an action girlfriend who'll carry her in her arms and Charlotte just so happen to fall under the princey type. I kinda hc they'd get along because of their shared love for sweets but overall I think they'd be pretty awkward. Enemies to lovers if you squint hard enough because I like to think they didn't like each other at first. Luna: U HAVE ZERO PERSONALITY. ALL U DO IS SEND PIXTURES OF STANLEY. Charlotte: *Insert a picture of Stanley here*

WeinLee — ByakuLilli is ass and I also have unexplainable hatred for Shamil, next question. The softness, the cuteness.... I kinda like whole ascended fangirl trope going on with this ship. They also seemed to be good friends after the landing. I just like how Lillian and Connie look together, it can't be explained okay.-

TaiKasa — Actually got hooked on them recently suprisingly. I can't imagine Taiju crushing on someone other than Yuzuriha (TaiYuzu is also very peak), so it's mostly innocent crush on Tsukasa's side and is overall more platonic than other ships in this list. Their relationships took a toll after Tsukasa 'killed' Senku but overall they're cool now lol. Alexa play "Invisible" by Anna Clendening.

TsuHyo — Used to be a huge fan of their whole lovers to enemies to friends to lovers dynamic when I just got into the burning mess that Dr. Stone is and my love grew even bigger after Hyoga's betrayal (Juicy angst yuummm). And then they put Tsukasa in cryostasis and he wasn't present until the very end of season three part two. Hyoga also got reduced to a secondary character after. At least they got to die next to each other idk (Probably will bawl my eyes out when this gets animated lmao).

MozKin — Literally how the fuck did I get here. Moz is cringe and Kinro is suffering, and that's about it. Enemies to enemies to enemies to enemies to enemies to unwilling training partners to somewhat on amicable terms to friends with benefits to friends without benefits to lovers 2 millions words slowburn fic type of ship.

ByakuSen — the appeal is dadson incest, next question.
