Festival Way Kambas merupakan agenda wisata tahunan yang digelar Pemerintah Kabupaten Lampung Timur.Festival ini dilaksanakan pertama kali pada 2016 dan diadakan setiap bulan November dipusatkan di Taman Nasional Way Kambas.Festival ini selalu melibatkan satwa Gajah baik sebagai bagian dari atraksi/sirkus Gajah atau Gajah tunggangan.Berdasarkan hasil dokumentasi milik Movement to End Animal Circus pada festival tahun 2017 dan 2018,nampak Gajah tersebut melakukan atraksi yang bukan merupakan perilaku alaminya.Juga bisa dilihat kondisi kepala Gajah yang mengalami luka-luka sebagai akibat bersinggungan dengan benda tajam.Animal Stories Indonesia tidak menentang Festival Way Kambas, namun kami menghimbau kepada pihak terkait untuk tidak menyajikan atraksi yang mengandung unsur eksploitasi dan penyiksaan terhadap satwa Gajah.Mungkin atraksi tersebut bisa diganti dengan melihat atau mengamati perilaku Gajah di habitatnya mengingat Taman Nasional Way Kambas ini memiliki cakupan wilayah yang luas dan masih banyak satwa Gajah yang hidup di habitatnya. Mari kita selenggarakan Festival Way Kambas 2019 ini dengan konten yang bersifat edukatif yang jauh dari unsur exploitasi & penyiksaan satwa,sehingga festival ini dapat meningkatkan kecintaan dan kepedulian masyarakat tentang satwa Gajah yang populasinya kian menurun. Colorado joins New Jersey, Hawaii, and California with bans. Our thanks to the bill sponsors, Senators Ginal and Zenzinger, and Representatives Duran and Froelich, ADI local supporters, Colorado Voters for Animals, and Animal-Free Circus Colorado in getting this legislation passed. Disappointingly, a late amendment which ADI opposed, exempts county fairs. We will be asking supporters to write to county fair boards to ask them not to book animal circuses. The only way to end the suffering of wild animals in circuses in every state, and avoid potential loopholes is the federal bill the Traveling Exotic Animal and Public Safety Protection Act (TEAPSPA). MEET MAX!!! He is one of the Guatemala circus tigers ADI worked to rescue. He is currently at ADI's temporary camp in Guatemala but as soon as the government paperwork is completed he is one of the three tigers coming here to Big Cat Rescue.

For the past seven months @icarus_inc along with some of the nation's top #animalwelfare agencies , academic institutions and #sanctuaries have worked as a united front to bring back to the United States six forgotten #Lions ; left wasting away in cages in #Colombia. The reason for the urgency of this rescue is not just because the animals have languished there for more than a year since the poorly orchestrated #circusban , but also because we were alerted to the fact that these six lions had been slated to go to #BlackJaguarWhiteTiger ( one of the most egregiously abusive #pseudosanctuaries in the world ). #BJWT is no sanctuary to big cats , but a place of #breeding , #exploitation, #exoticsales and #death. What makes it so "special" is it is backed ferociously by millions of #Instagram followers based on cute and fluffy #cubphotos . BJWT is loved by #celebrities and civilians alike and has amassed millions of dollars in funds , YET still solicited funds during two #GoFundMe #fundraisers to bring these lions to the barren ranch #Serio claims is a #refuge . Unfortunately #corruption within the Colombian government prevented us from bringing the six lions to a better facility , and to better life , at the world-renowned #TheWildAnimalSanctuary in #Colorado A generous offer from Pat Craig to pay the entirety of the fee of the transfer ( the flight, crates and all costs) to hundreds of #protected acres in the Colorado mountains went ignored all for the sake of celebrity and, we are sure, the exchange of funds. Even though things did not turn out in the best interest of the lions ,and we are extremely angered by the actions of the #CRA , we would like to thank the few individuals/organizations who stepped forward to contribute their letters of opposition and we hope that in the future others will voice their disapproval and help bring an end to the #suffering of hundreds of big cats in #Mexico. Only through a collaborative effort will we ever see the gates of #BJWT close forever.
