got the beat (literally so good i love their entire discography) class:y (also great, listen to tick tick boom and target THEYRE SO CATCHY AAA) tri.be (witch is their best song imo, theyre so talented and their choreography is really good)

Purple kiss (any song tbh but their cabin fever ep is iconic and all the songs are great)

2023 Music Recap (Top 100 Tracks Only)

As requested, this is my summary of K-pop songs that appealed to me this past year! I could only include 100 songs due to the URL limit set by Tumblr & also sorted by order of release date, but I had to condense the post (hence "Keep Reading"). This post also took me longer than expected because of ITZY's surprise comeback announcement. @_@

Special mention goes to Naver's new music show, NPOP! What's visually different about NPOP is that the on-screen lyrics (& group members' names) are center-aligned, whereas all the other shows have lyrics on the bottom left. (SHAME ON INKIGAYO for removing on-screen lyrics altogether!!!) Look at this gorgeous camerawork capturing Eunha during VIVIZ's "Untie" stage (preset timestamp):

Stray Kids “The Sound”

Stray Kids’ new Japanese single has a strong hip-hop beat and the rap line gets to shine. The rappers are definitely the best thing about SKZ, but they don’t sound very good in Japanese. Overall, “The Sound” sounds like a b-side. NCT Dream also have a new J-single out, and it’s the complete opposite of what SKZ released with a mid-tempo groovy disco/edm instrumental.

VIVIZ “Pull Up”

The track has a nice sax riff but the verses and the chorus fall flat, the vocals are also too nasal. It’s kinda funny how Umji is now the prettiest G-Friend member though.

BooSeokSoon “Fighting”

I should like this since I am a BSS fan, but this is too damn cheerful. I don’t like it when happiness seems so forced and exaggerated. The chorus is catchy though.

CLASS:y “TARGET”

This is CLASS:y’s second J-single and this time they went with a mix of pop and big band music, this is so unique for a k-pop group! The girls are also styled a bit more mature than usual. I just wish the song had better mixing, this is really good.

Klasi covers Blackpink's 'How You Like That' wearing Hanbok…

Group CLASS:y challenged themselves to cover Blackpink's 'How You Like That' for the Lunar New Year holiday.

Classy (Hyungseo·Chaewon·Hyeju·Liwon·Jimin·Boeun·Sunyu) released a cover video of BLACKPINK's "How You Like That" on their official YouTube channel on the 22nd.

In the released video, Klasi catches the eye from the beginning with an intense LED background and a fusion hanbok with a combination of black, pink, and purple. In particular, the members captivate the eyes, ears, and hearts of fans at once with their unrivaled performance skills and various facial expressions with a dance line that shows off dynamic control.

Meanwhile, the Clacie version of BLACKPINK’s ‘How You Like That’ can be viewed on the Klasi official YouTube channel. Klasi is about to release the Japanese original single “TARGET” in February.
