“Esmee! Have you seen my bag? I swear I put it next to you.”
The Dutch woman looked at you, eyes wide in panic - poor girl was even more scared than you to make the starting eleven for the first time.
“Nej. I don’t know where it went.”
But then you could already hear two particular people giggling behind you, before a hand hastily pulled you back to the seat just on the other side of the aisle, letting you still sit next to your quite new friend.
“Pina wanted to sit next to you, Cari!”
Just as you had suspected. The culprit had been Patri, her hands still on your shoulders as she squeezed them teasingly. Her neighboring seat was still empty, usually occupied by the short forward beside you.
But it didn’t stay that way for too long, as an unsuspecting Ona was promptly pulled down next to Patri as she tried to walk past the chaotic best Friends, a short yelp leaving her as she toppled over. “Actually, I wanted to sit with -”
“Tu amor. We know.” Claudia and Patri cackled, finding themselves to be the funniest people on the bus as they turned around to see a certain British defender, sulking further back. “Ai Lucia! We’re stealing your girlfriend! You don’t mind - right?”
The Midfielder didn’t wait for an answer as she turned back around, nudging Ona back down, who had tried to escape while she wasn’t looking. “Nuh-uh. You stay, spend enough time with her as is.”
Ona’s eyes all of a sudden had a certain sparkle back in her eyes. “Awhh, is little Patri jealous that she’s all aloneeee?” The Mallorcan scoffed, clearly offended by the brunette's statement. “I’ll never be jealous of you… Dating that fossil over there.”
You could have sworn to hear an “Oi!” from further back, but it was drowned out by Pina’s and your loud laughter as Ona was speechless, mouth open in shock before she gathered herself. “At least I am in a relationship - while fans speculate if you and Pinita here are dating!”
The pure disgust on their faces made you laugh even harder while both of them grumbled something under their breath, while Ona looked very pleased with herself. She was glad to help you with your nerves, knowing that Mapi wasn’t here and that it threw you off.
Esmee had now been kidnapped as well, sitting next to Salma a few rows in front of the chaotic four. Ingrid sat alone in front of her, a reminder that Mapi was not there, while she tried to keep an eye on you and the young dutchie.
“Cari, do you have your boots?” Apparently dating a fossil made Ona worry more than she usually did.
“Yes Oni, I have my boots. And a change of clothes. And socks. And my wash-bag.” The brunette gave Ingrid a quick thumbs up, who had been the sole reason she wanted to know. You had already given the Norwegian your bag to look through once you arrived at the training facility, and she had asked again when you entered the bus.
Upon receiving her answer Ingrid turned back around, ready to read on her way to the stadium. Usually, you would sit with her and Mapi, but with her girlfriend being out of order, and you being nervous, she couldn’t help herself but worry.
Seeing Patri, Ona, and Pina making you laugh, keeping your mind busy was all she needed to see for calm travels - but not before snapping a cute picture of all four of you laughing, sending it to her favorite defender, with the caption “She’ll be just fine.”

How Could You Do This Part 1
Claudia Pina x reader
warnings: angst
Summary: You find out your girlfriend is cheating on you
Not proof read so let me know if you see any mistakes.
~~~
You were scrolling through TikTok on your girlfriend's phone, patiently waiting for her to finish her Cupra interview. Since your phone had died, Claudia had kindly lent you hers to stave off boredom during the wait.
Halfway through watching a hilarious dog video, a text from Patri popped up, catching your attention before you could swipe it away. It read, "just tell her before she finds out." Confusion washed over you as you tried to decipher whom or what Patri was referring to. Another text appeared, stating, "Y/n will be so mad once she finds out. Hopefully she doesn't break up with you. At the very least, you might be sleeping on your new couch for a week."
What could Patri possibly be talking about? It seemed clear that Claudia was keeping something from you, something she knew she shouldn't. Your mind immediately jumped to the conclusion that Claudia was cheating on you. You and your girlfriend had always prided yourselves on honesty, promising never to keep secrets from each other. Thus, you couldn't fathom what else she could be hiding.
Though hesitant, you couldn't resist the urge to snoop. Clicking on Patri's message, you hoped to uncover the mystery. Initially, the conversation consisted of random memes and funny videos they'd exchanged, but you stumbled upon a series of texts from two days ago that piqued your interest.
Patri: Did you meet up with the girl today?
Pina: Yeah, she was awesome. I can't wait to see her again.
Patri: That's great! I'm glad you found someone better.
Pina: Yeah, me too. Y/n is going to murder me when she finds out though. I need to tell her soon.
Patri: Take her to a nice dinner and then try to break the news.
Pina: I might. I keep trying, but every time I go to mention it, I chicken out. I don't want her to be upset.
Recalling the fancy dinner Claudia had taken you out to the previous night, her nervous demeanor suddenly made sense. You had assumed it was related to her upcoming interview, as she never enjoyed media engagements. It was unfathomable to think that she had started seeing someone else, especially with Patri's encouragement. A whirlwind of thoughts flooded your mind. Your girlfriend of over three years was cheating on you. Feeling overwhelmed, you dropped the phone onto the chair and rushed out of the room. Claudia remained engrossed in her interview, oblivious to your sudden departure.
You raced down the training ground hallway until you found a bathroom, locking yourself in the first stall, overcome by sobs. How could Claudia betray your trust like this? You believed you had the perfect relationship, and just that morning, she had seemed so deeply in love with you. She had made you breakfast and cuddled with you on the couch until the last possible moment before you had to leave. She had always been affectionate, constantly holding and kissing you. You were at a loss, unable to comprehend what you had done wrong.
"Y/n, is that you in there? What's wrong? What happened? Do you want me to get Claudia?" It was Alexia's voice. You hadn't heard her enter the bathroom.
"No, no, don't get Claudia," you called out desperately.
"Why? What happened? Did she do something? Let me in." Alexia was very confused at this point because whenever you were sad or hurt or upset, you immediately asked for Claudia, and Claudia always immediately came to your side no matter what she was doing.
You silently unlocked the door as Alexia squatted down in front of you. When she saw your tear-stained face but no visible injury, she decided to try and help you up, knowing you were physically fine. "Oh, bebita, what happened?"
Alexia now had you standing and hugged you tightly as she tried to get you to calm down enough to explain what had made you so upset.
"Clau... Clau..."
"It's okay, it will be okay. Take some deep breaths for me." You did as Alexia told you, trying to take a few deep breaths as your sobs turned into sniffles.
"Clau... she cheated... she told Patri... that she... found a better girl... she said she met up with her," you choked out as Alexia started to look furious. She loved Claudia, but if this was true, then she wouldn't hesitate to confront her.
"Did she tell you this? Did Patri?"
"No... I saw their text messages... I was just TikToking while she had her interview."
"God, I am going to kill them both. You are coming to stay at my place tonight. I will text Olga to make up the spare room. I am going to have a talk with Claudia tomorrow and then Patri. I will bring Mapi too." Alexia was basically talking to herself at this point as she led you to the locker room to quickly grab her things.
Just as she was about to lead you towards the door to leave, Claudia burst through.
"There you are, amor, what happened? I couldn't find you anywhere. Are you ready..."
"Get out," Alexia said in her loud, stern voice.
"What... what happened? Is y/n okay..."
"Get out now," Alexia said again. "Don't ever come near y/n again, I swear, Claudia."
Neither you nor Claudia had ever seen your captain look so angry and so disappointed. Claudia was stunned; she had no idea how to react. She turned and ran out the door, not knowing where she was going. What did she do wrong? She didn't think she had done anything wrong, but you had clearly been crying, and Alexia looked furious, so she must have done something.
~~~
Claudia ran out onto the pitch and grabbed a bag of balls laying off to the side. Everyone had already left, but she didn't want to leave until she figured out what she did wrong.
She took penalty after penalty until her leg could barely kick the ball into the net. She finally decided to go to her best friend for help, maybe Patri could help her figure out what she had done wrong.
It was well past the sun going down as she pulled into the parking lot of Patri's apartment complex. Patri was shocked at hearing the knock and opening the door to reveal the most sad she thinks she had ever seen Claudia.
"Hey Claudia, what happened, aren't you supposed to be at the movies with y/n tonight. She's been waiting for it to come out for months." Patri said as she moved to let Claudia into her apartment, but before Claudia could fully enter she broke down.
"I messed up, I don't know what I did. We were fine this morning, but after I got done with my interview she was gone and... and... and... then I went to go find her and she was crying in Alexia's arms. Alexia told me to get out. I have never seen her that angry before and y/n wouldn't even look at me. I don't know what I did wrong. I don't know what to do. Y/n and Alexia won't answer my calls or texts and..." Claudia ranted so fast that Patri could barely keep up.
"Hey, hey, hey slow down, everything will be ok. You and y/n love each other ok. recount your steps, there is nothing that you could have done to upset her?" Patri asked as they sat down on the couch, Claudia with her head in her hands.
~~~
Thirty minutes later Claudia stood nervously outside of Alexia's door with flowers and your favorite chocolate. She wanted to come talk to you knowing that you were most likely here. She wanted to figure out what she did wrong and how she could make it up to you.
Alexia opened the door thinking it was the food she ordered for takeout. "Hello thank ... oh Claudia." Alexia's voice immediately changed from nice and friendly to annoyance and verging on rude.
"Please leave you are not welcome her. Y/n does not want to hear from you or see you again outside of practice."
"But... but what did I do. I didn't do anything wrong. I love her please Alexia just let me talk to her," Claudia begging while trying to remain calm and not let her tears fall in front of her captain.
"Go. Now. Before I call the cops." Alexia slammed the door in the face of the girl she once thought of as a little sister. Claudia didn't know what to do so she just called Patri as she got back in her car.
"I lost her. I lost her," Pina says as she sobs on the phone.
Always Will
Tumblr media
After a bad game, Claudia takes her frustration out on you. You realize it runs deeper than just one game, and Claudia realizes that she can’t push you away very easily.
Shorter than normal, and probs all you’ll get for a couple more days, but I hope you guys like it anyway ☺️☺️
——-
Claudia sat in the front seat, glaring out the window. Her anger was palpable from where you sat in the drivers seat. You were tempted to break the silence, assure her that she didn't really have that bad of a game, but you knew better. Your drive continued in silence, and you wanted more than anything to reach over to her, and grab her hand, but knew she wouldn't accept the comfort. You'd allow her time to cool down, and then you'd talk to her about it.
What you hadn't considered, though, was that Pina wasn't just frustrated with herself- she was frustrated with you. This was made clear when she bolted out of the car as soon as you pulled in, and slammed the front door shut behind her before you could reach it. You walked in after her, slightly bewildered, as you couldn't think of what you'd done to make her upset.
"Babe? What's wrong?" you ask calmly, watching as the striker practically throws her bag down, stomping into the kitchen.
"What's wrong? Are you being serious?" She asked, whirling around to glare at you.
"Calm down, Clau, and tell me what's bothering you." You work hard to keep your voice even, despite feeling yourself getting annoyed with the other girls' behavior.
"You!" she shouts, and you step back, startled. "It isn't enough that I have the worst fucking game of my life, miss every shot I take, but you have to hover over me afterwards like I'm incapable of handling myself. It was humiliating, y/n, you treated me like a child."
You assume she's referring to when you tried to comfort her after the game. Her frustration had been evident, and you'd just wanted to make sure she was okay. She'd ignored you though, until you pulled her aside in the locker room, and she'd told you she was fine, which you didn't believe. To be honest, what you'd done didn't really warrant this reaction, and you knew that she was just taking her frustration out on you.
"That wasn't my intention. I just wanted to make sure you were okay," you tell her, inching closer when you notice the tears in her eyes.
"Well, I didn't need you to. I'm fine. Now leave me alone, yeah?" she snaps, before marching off into the bedroom, yet again slamming the door behind her.
You sigh, running a hand over your face. Claudia got like this after she didn't play well, but you'd never seen her this upset before. Deciding to give her some space, you head into the kitchen, grabbing a snack, before settling on the couch and flicking on the TV. You'd showered in the locker room, and Claudia had not, so you expect her to do so now.
You tried to lose yourself in the show on, but your thigh ached from where you'd been stepped on. It wasn't a big injury, just a couple cuts and what was sure to be a huge bruise. You're sure Claudia didn't even see it, having gone right into the locker room when she'd been pulled off in the 80th minute. It had happened a couple minutes later, and the physios had thrown a bandage on it before sending you back in. That same bandage was wrapped around your leg now, under your sweats, and you elected to ignore it for the time being.
Claudia hadn't come out of the bedroom, and it had been almost an hour, which you judged to be long enough for her to have cooled down. Standing, you walked to the door and knocked lightly, before pushing it open.
Claudia was sat on the floor, chin resting on her knees. She hadn't showered, and she looked to be completely lost in her thoughts.
"Clau?" you murmur, trying to get her attention. Her head turns towards you, and your lips tug into a frown when you see her flushed cheeks and watery eyes. Deciding to give her a few more minutes of quiet, you walk over to her wordlessly, and hold your hand out. After a second, she grabs it, and you lead her into the bathroom, turning the shower on. You're about to reach out, and pull her top off, but her hands stop you, and she does it herself. Claudia seems intent on showering by herself, but you don't feel particularly like leaving her alone in this state, so you perch on the bathroom counter and pull your phone out as she gets into the shower.
She finishes quickly, sniffling every so often, and you pretend to be engrossed in your phone, when really you're watching her every move. It's unlike your girlfriend to be so quiet, and paired with her earlier behavior, it worries you. She remains silent as she dries off and you follow her out of the bathroom.
This time, though, when she tries to head to the dresser and get clothes out herself, you stop her, and nudge her in the direction of the bed. She frowns but does as you direct, sitting on the edge of the bed in just her towel. You grab comfy clothes from your side of the dresser, walking back over to her. You take your time, gently pulling the shirt and hoodie over her head, as well as a pair of shorts onto her legs.
“Stay here, alright?” You tell the brunette, heading back into the bathroom with her damp towel and return with her hairbrush. She’s right where you left her, staring at the ground. You’re trying to get a good read on her emotions, but her face is blank. The only thing that tells you she’s upset is her shoulders, a slight slump in her usually perfect posture.
You brush through the knots in her hair, and you’re almost done when she reaches out to grab your wrist, bringing your motions to a halt.
“Why are you being so nice to me?” She asks quietly. You realize the emotion playing across her face is one of guilt.
“Why wouldn’t I be nice to you?” You reply, setting the hairbrush down and stepping in closer to rest your hands on her cheeks. She shakes you off though, standing and walking a short distance away from you.
You allow her the space, but turn towards her, waiting for her to explain.
“I was so awful to you, and you’re acting like I haven’t done anything,” she chokes out, and you soften.
“Claudia, don’t worry about it, I’m not mad,” you tell her, because you’re not. She can apologize later, but now, she’s so upset, you don’t care about anything other than making her smile.
“You should be. I was horrible to you in front of the team, and—“
“— and nothing. You were frustrated and embarrassed and I wasn’t helping. You can tell me sorry later, love, but please let me hug you.” You insist, walking towards her. She shakes her head at your words, but you pull her into your arms anyway.
“I’m sorry.” She mumbles into your chest. “I don’t know why I acted like that.”
“It’s okay, baby.”
Claudia settles against you, relaxing slightly in your embrace.
“Why were you so upset today? I mean I don’t think you played that bad, Clau.” She scoffs in response. “Seriously, love, everyone has off days.”
“I feel like I only have off days. I haven’t scored in games, amor, I’m letting everyone down,” the striker responds, tears beginning to fall steadily down her cheeks. You realize that this goes deeper than just one bad game, and you curse yourself for not noticing earlier.
“Oh, baby. You’re not letting anyone down. It’s just a slump, you’ll come out of it.” You tell her, placing a kiss onto her head. She just shakes her head in response, though, and you sigh, before pulling her over to the bed. She sits on the edge, and you stand between your legs, guiding her chin up to look at you.
Her eyes are wide, eyelashes wet, as she gazes up at you. You can’t resist kissing the tip of her nose gently. It scrunches adorably and you smile, before you speak.
“You haven’t let anyone down, Claudia. Not me, and not anyone on the team. You have to be patient with yourself. You aren’t going to be perfect all the time, and no one expects you to.”
She looks only slightly reassured. “I just get so into my head. I don’t know what to do, I’m so stressed all the time,” she admits, and you frown down at her.
“Why haven’t you brought this up before?” You ask, because although you knew she was struggling slightly, you didn’t realize she was having an entire crisis of confidence. It explained her moodiness recently, and her outburst today.
“You’re stressed too, amor, I didn’t want to add to that,” Claudia dismisses.
“No, baby what stresses me out is not knowing why you’re so upset. Please, tell me when you’re feeling like this. You’re supposed to lean on me, Claudia, just like I lean on you.”
“Okay,” she mumbles. It isn’t much, but you can see a determination in her eyes that wasn’t there before, a spark. You know she’ll try to open up to you more, even if it’s a slow process.
She leans in, resting her head on your stomach, reaching her arms around you. In the process, her elbow clips your thigh, right over your wound. You let out a hiss, involuntarily jerking back.
“What? What is it?” Claudia asks, eyebrows knitting together as she scans your fully clothed body for injury.
“It’s nothing,” you say, leaning back into the hug. Claudia is insistent though, putting her hands on your legs to stop you. Again, you wince.
“You’re hurt.” She accuses. There’s an unspoken rule between the two of you that you always tell the other when one of you is hurt, which Claudia clearly feels you have broken.
“I’m fine,” you dismiss, but Claudia is already standing, pulling your joggers down your legs, and carefully pulling the bandage off, then dramatically gasping at the sight of your injury. It’s really not that bad, but Claudia is looking at you like you’ve been hiding a gunshot wound.
“Claudia,” you begin.
“No! Now I’m mad!” She says, lips twisting slightly into a smile, and you know she’s only joking. She turns, heading to the closet where you keep the first aid kit.
“I didn’t hide it!” You call after her and she sends you a glare over her shoulder.
“What would you call not telling me you were hurt?”
“Well, if you hadn’t stormed into the locker room before the game ended, or shouted at me when we got home…” you say casually, dodging the box of bandaids she throws at your head, laughing.
“I thought you weren’t mad,” she says, beginning to treat the cuts on your leg. You don’t tell her they’ve already been cleaned, enjoying the gentle way she’s pressing a light kiss to each cut before running the alcohol wipe over it.
“I love you,” you say suddenly. The way her attention has completely flipped, from her own horrible day, to your slight inconvenience, laser focus on making sure you’re okay, makes your heart flutter.
Your girlfriend looks up at you, a small grin on her face. “I love you too, amor.”
Claudia wraps a new bandage around your leg, before heading off to get some ice for it. When she returns, she finds you tucked under the covers already. She puts the ice pack on your leg, before settling into your side.
“Thanks for making me feel better, even when I wasn’t very nice.”
“Always, love. Always.”
She presses a chaste kiss to your cheek, before resting her face in the crook of your neck. You hold her tight, like you always will.
Lord I hate writing on my phone. Also I think this ending sucks. But! Hope you enjoy anyway :)
home for christmas || claudia pina x reader ||
Tumblr media
you bring claudia home with you to norway for christmas.
claudia would never admit it, but you could tell from the grip she had on her hand that she was. the two of you had spent a season and a half in spain together, and this holiday break, you were excited to finally be going back home for christmas. the vacations spent partying at various resorts were nice, but you wanted something a little quieter and more wholesome.
"tu bien?" your spanish had never been good, and so, for the most part you refused to use it. now, though, you knew that claudia needed what little you had. she glanced over at you, obviously a little thrown off by the spanish. claudia's norweigan was nonexistent, so you had gotten your family to agree to english for the weekend you'd be staying with them.
"just nervous," claudia answered. her english was getting much better thanks to now fully living with you. your ability to speak spanish was atrocious, despite being able to keep up with what most people were saying. there were always exceptions, especially whenever someone threw in the a catalonian phrase. aitana and alexia were the worst about it, ona only really doing it to get on your nerves.
"you'll be fine, my parents will love you more than me by the end of the weekend," you told her. claudia doubted it, but she liked knowing that she had your vote of confidence. it didn't matter that claudia felt like she'd mess things up if she knew that she had your vote of confidence.
"right. i am a good girlfriend to you. we love each other very much, and even if they don't like me, they'll see that," claudia reasoned. you were glad to see her thinking rationally. it was amazing sometimes how sound of mind your girlfriend could be whenever she was away from the rest of her chaotic friend group.
meeting your parents had gone over extremely well for claudia. she knew that she was nothing like your exes, and that seemed to work well in her favor. your parents approved of the relationship a lot more than they had of your ones in the past. your father had openly told claudia this, and she had been almost insufferable for the rest of the night.
"are you sure that you don't want to stay a couple more days here? i mean, your parents did make up that room for us. it seems a bit like a waste," claudia said. you pinched the bridge of your nose as you got in the car with her. she shifted uncomfortably in the passenger's seat, thrown from her element since you weren't letting her drive you around.
"claudia, i love my parents, but i'd like to, at some point, have some privacy. they were well behaved because you were around, but once they get comfortable, it's all over," you warned her. claudia frowned a little, but understood.
family was very important to the both of you, and claudia had genuinely just wanted to spend some more time with yours. you were all for family time, but a lot of the things you wanted to do on this trip were just for you and claudia. you knew that she had been to a few ski resorts, but she hadn't gotten a good, proper, christmas experience in your books.
the drive to your little rental isn't too far from your parents' place. it's already decorated for christmas, and while it is nice, it feels less like home than where you had just come from. it's very organized, like how claudia had decorated her apartment as a compromise to you the year before.
"this is nice," claudia said as she walked around the little living room. the small house was nice, reminding you of the one you had went to look at in spain. your contract was up soon, and you were hoping to resign with barcelona. claudia was staying, promising you that she had absolutely no intentions of going anywhere else, and that she'd love for the two of you to get a place together whenever you resigned.
"i have a present for you," you said as you wrapped your arms around claudia's waist. she leaned into your embrace, allowing for you to kiss the side of her face several times. reluctantly, you pulled away to get the bag with the coat that you had asked your father to pick up whenever all of you had gone out to the big market.
"it's not christmas yet." claudia looked a little skeptical at the gift bag. you knew exactly what she wanted to be in the bag, and it definitely wasn't it. however, you weren't going to let your girlfriend run around looking like a tourist, nor would you let her stand there freezing because she wasn't properly bundled up.
"well, this is just to make our day trips easier on you," you told her. claudia cracked a small smile at the way you just constantly thought of her like that. you were definitely the caretaker in the relationship, always trying to make sure that claudia was safe, comfortable, and happy. "it looks thin, but i promise that it will keep you warm."
"you got me a coat in blaugrana?" claudia gripped the coat tightly in her hands as she held it up in front of her. you may have ordered the coat early, long before claudia had actually agreed to come with you. claudia smiled as she looked over the coat to take in the little details. you had gotten her number on the side, a little touch that you knew meant the world to her.
"it was supposed to come before we got here, but you have it now," you said nervously. you were twiddling your thumbs behind your back when claudia launched herself into your arms. you caught her, smiling and laughing as she tackled you back onto the couch. the two of you rolled onto the floor, lips connected in a deep kiss.
"i love it."
claudia couldn't believe that for the first time, she could go outside without being cold. the two of you had been out at the christmas market for nearly an hour already. you wanted to buy some things, but there were things to do first. claudia smiled as the two of you walked around, not complaining once as you continuously got distracted by different booths.
"thank god there's no line," you sighed in relief as you saw the rink. claudia's eyes followed yours, a slightly nervous look on her face as you tugged her toward the ice rink. "come on, we should take advantage of this, it won't be this empty for long."
"are you sure it's a good idea? i can't skate, and if i get injured, the others would probably kill you," claudia said.
"don't worry, i'll be right here the whole time holding your hand. i won't let you fall," you promised her. claudia hated that her trust in you dissolved any of the protests that had been building up inside of her.
once you both had your skates on, claudia took your hand and led you onto the ice. you moved slowly, allowing claudia to get a feel for it. she didn't really ever get too comfortable, so you only had her do a couple of laps. she took her skates back and sat on the side, content to watch you do your thing.
it was a little known fact, but you hadn't started out playing soccer. that had always been a bit of a side thing, even as you had gotten your youth team callups for your country. your first love had been figure skating, but there had always been someone better than you. it had destroyed you to always feel like you were second best, and so, your parents had steered you towards soccer, which had boosted your confidence as you grew into your teenage years.
being on the ice again after so long felt freeing. you danced along to the music, unaware of the way claudia watched you. she hadn't gotten to see you so unapologetically invested in something ever. you were completely lost in yourself, and claudia felt like she was falling even further in love with you. it should have scared her, but she had been feeling this way throughout the entire trip.
it was nearly an hour later whenever you finally got off of the ice. you'd be feeling it later, but for the time being, you were still buzzing. claudia seemed a little bit more clingy than normal as the two of you did a bit of shopping, but you didn't mind it. you loved it whenever claudia would hold onto your hand and lean into your side, randomly pressing little kisses to your cheek or jaw.
"wait! we have to get hot chocolate!" claudia chuckled as she watched you run off towards another booth. the two of you had spent most of your day out and about in town, and now both of you were more than ready to go home. claudia knew that you hated being out of the house for so long like this, so she was a bit surprised when you ended up being the one to make constant stops on the way out.
"why did you only get one cup?" claudia asked as you returned. you opened up the little mouth spot on the top and took a sip of it.
"because we're sharing it," you told her. claudia took the offered drink, eyes widening a bit in surprise. this wasn't her first time having hot chocolate, but this tasted different. "i used to get it every single year from the same booth because it's simply the best i've ever had."
"i want my own," claudia told you.
"tomorrow, we'll come back, i promise." you pressed a kiss to the top of her head as you dragged her towards the car. the two of you made your way out, not stopping anywhere else. you took a couple more drinks from the hot chocolate before you just gave the rest to claudia, who sipped on it happily from the passenger's seat.
"any more plans for the day?" claudia asked you.
"the christmas programs start soon, so we'll probably watch those and drink some wine. i'll warm up the leftovers my mom gave us for dinner, and then i say that we call it a night," you told her. claudia liked the sound of that, humming in approval as she shifted in her seat slightly. "all of this running around has made me very cuddle deprived, so you'll have to fix that."
"are you deprived of anything else?" claudia asked as she placed her hand on your thigh. the two of you shared a knowing look, one that claudia assumed meant she'd be getting lucky as soon as the two of you got back to the rental. however, much to her dismay, you did make her sit through all of the christmas specials that played that night before you even let her have more than a couple of very quick kisses.
We don't talk anymore
Claudia x childhood bestfriend!reader - requested
Tumblr media
You were back in your apartment. After a usual day of training. You were watching a Barcelona game against Levante. You aways did watch them whenever you could.
It felt nice seeing your childhood best friend doing so good. You knew this was her dream. She had told you, herself.
"I'm going to play there someday. You too, your coming with me!" - she said as the two of you walked home from playing football with the boys.
"What if they don't want me?"
"Of course they will! Your the best defender I've ever met."
"Yeah but you're just 10 years old, and we've never played with anyone that wasn't from around here."
"They will want you, and I know it!"
Unfortunately they didn't.
At thirteen she left for Barcelona.
And you stayed back.
"It's temporary! We'll be together again in no time." - You reassured her. You knew that would most likely not be the case, but you wanted her to go. To follow her dreams.
At fourteen you could no longer play at the boys league. But you were lucky to be called up to follow your own dream.
It wasn't in Spain like you would've liked. But that was the only club that had shown an interest on you. And you couldn't throw away your chance.
So, like her, you left. But for somewhere way further than Barcelona.
You went to England instead.
It was hard, you were just becoming a teenager. You didn't speak the language, your family had stayed behind and you weren't able to keep contact with Clau.
And that's how it still was. Even though now you spoke english. As if you had been born there.
And you still played for Tottenham, but now, you could afford to fly your parents to come and visit you sometimes.
And still had no contact with Claudia. That was the only thing that hadn't changed.
You had lost contact, but never managed to reconnect. Truth was, you knew that, even if you messaged her, she most likely wouldn't remember who you were. That was so long ago, and you were both so young. Now she had a new life, with new friends.
You had settled for only seeing her through your TV. And that was enough for you.
Seeing her celebrate with her teammates their win, made a tear run down your face.
When you had Claudia with you, and your team would win, you'd sing all the way back home. Cheerful, the two of you.
You were so lucky and you didn't even know.
Now you were left only with your memories.
There, time couldn't touch your friendship.
And you two still walked home together, every afternoon.
Hi, I love your fics!! I was wondering if you could do another Pina fic she is so underrated. Maybe one where Pina and reader are always very affectionate and the team teases them like at team bonding or a beach day or something. A lot of fluff please!!
Tumblr media
warnings: none, pure fluff
a/n: sorry it’s late and she’s short y’all
------
it was team bonding day, and the entire group had decided on a beach day.
i was excited, i loved the beach and swimming and everything to do with the ocean. it was my favourite place to be when i wasn’t on the pitch. alexia had organised the whole thing, and was giving most of the team a lift. that included me, claudia, patri, salma and vicky.
mapi and ingrid brought the rest of the team plus food and drinks.
i was having a blast, in the ocean with mapi, while both our girlfriends watched on from the shore. finally we emerged from the surf to have a break.
i could feel claudia’s eyes, raking up and down my body as i walked over to her.
“hey mi amor.”
“hola bebé.”
i sat on the towel she had laid out, her arms holding my body against hers. lo
we spent a good while sat like that, cuddled into each other on the beach surrounded by our teammates. claudia had her hand on my thigh, rubbing it up and down slowly. i had a piece of watermelon that i was in the middle of eating when claudia looked down at me.
“you’re so pretty, mi amor.”
i looked up at my lovers’ eyes, they were like blue orbs of light.
“no prettier than you.”
claudia didn’t say anything, she simply leaned down and kissed me on the lips. i melted into her hold, letting her take control of the moment.
it was like we were in our own little bubble, nothing else but us existed. that was until the rest of the team butted in and teased us.
“get a room, piña!” patri
“lovebirds.” aitana
“can’t keep their hands off each other.” mapi
when we pulled apart, i had a blush stained on my cheeks, evident from the teasing of our teammates.
afterwards, i had managed to drag claudia off the sand and down to where the surf was crashing onto the shore. we spent ages mucking around, trying to push the other into the waves.
we back. | Alexia Putellas
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
category: fluff, baby fever major fluff.
summary: where you and Alexia return to football from two entirely different reasons.
word count: 5.1k.
Tumblr media
You were sat at home when you got the call regarding Alexia's knee injury. You were both set to guide Spain all the way through the euros yet neither of you participated.
Alexia was on the sidelines and out for the next 9 months whereas you were 'injured' for the next 9/10 months.
The truth is you were injured, just not to the same extent as Alexia's. You had picked up a slight ankle injury towards the end of the 21/22 season, only a sprain but you dragged it out. The real reason was that you were a month pregnant.
Alexia and you had decided that you had wanted a baby and you were willing to give up the euros in order to do so, Alexia was not so sure it was the right time but you reassured her promising her you'd be fine on your own and to update her.
The ankle injury was the best excuse to hide the pregnancy, pretending you were staying in Barcelona to do your 'rehab' while everyone was in England.
When Alexia's injury was announced it had brought great dread upon you, an ACL tear is a big deal and it would not be easy growing a child inside of you and looking after her at the same time.
Although you could see her struggling through the mental aspects as well as the physical, she was trying her best to look after you as well. The thought of her unborn baby inspired her through her rehab to get back in shape as quick as possible.
The black and white outline on the sonogram that was revealed to you both every appointment seemed to make Alexia's comeback near closer and closer.
Finding out you were having a little girl made Alexia even more excited, wanting to become an inspiration for your daughter even though you told her many times that she's not going to have a clue in the world Alexia was a top player for a while.
"When you grow up you are going to be one of the best footballers in the world." Alexia giggled as she felt the baby kick hard for the 4th time in a row.
"Just like her mama." You interrupted their conversation, while stroking her hair.
"Mamas, you mean?"
You just smiled as you turned back to reading your book, Alexia carrying on her conversation after finding out after tons of research that the more the baby hears your voice the more relaxed they'll be around you when they're born.
"Bebé, can you please stop talking about football the more you do it the more she kicks and it's getting uncomfortable."
"Sorry." She whispers against your stomach, pressing a light kiss before sitting up.
Whilst doing so you didn't fail to notice the wince on her face.
"Are you in pain? Want me to get you some painkillers?"
"No. i'm fine." Her face turns emotionless at the attention of her discomfort, getting up to hobble to the bathroom.
You got up after her to go and get her some meds as well as water to leave on her bedside table, opening the freezer and grabbing her an ice pack to rest on her knee.
Alexia had her surgery a couple of months back, though she was still struggling with the pain and it made your heart crack seeing her like this.
"I don't need that." Glaring at you as you walked in. Your rose your eyebrow, telling her to carry on.
"Do you really want to dismiss a pregnant women? You need it, it'll help." You scolded pulling the covers off her bottom half and placing the ice pack gently on her knee, herself hissing at the coldness, and gently lifting her leg to rest on a pillow.
"You've already got the motherly characteristics."
"Yep, i'm practicing on you." You gave her a humorous look as you pulled the covers back over her, "Now take." You practically forced her to take the pills with the stare you were giving her.
"See? What would you do without me? Pretty sure you'd be dead by now."
"Ha ha." You gave her a successful smile and turned back to walk towards your side of the bed.
Before you felt a sudden pain in your side, "ouch." You hissed as you bent over on the bed.
"¿Estas bien?" Alexia looked all over your face to check if your okay.
"Estoy bien, i think she kicked a bit too hard. Don't worry, it's okay." You reassured her as you got into bed and cuddled into her side.
"Have you thought of anymore names yet?" You ask to clear the air.
"No, it's too hard. We have to make sure that it's not the same as any of the girls we play with and that's literally every name!"
You giggle at the known fact that any of the girls name being used will end up with a fight or an argument about being the favourite.
"I've come up with a few. I really like Ada but it is the name of the best player in the team we will hate until death."
"Yeah, definitely not. I think something more Spanish traditional, you know? Like... Sofia or something."
"Mhm," You hummed before you yawned. "It'll come."
3 months later, you hit your late 8 month mark while Alexia was getting stronger and stronger, herself now training separately on the pitch beside the others. The team were wondering where you were though, Alexia having stayed quiet about you the whole time they've been back from being knocked out in the quarters.
All she has said, as well as the trainers, was that you were on a health break. You had both told Jonatan and the trainers the truth when Alexia started her rehab, they were all ecstatic and couldn't wait to have another baby in the team.
"Amor, where are you?" Alexia shouted throughout your house, expecting to find you right in front of her, instead just Nala bouncing at her feet.
"Nursery!"
She made her way towards the room with the ball of fluff trailing behind, to find you in the middle of a mess of baby clothes.
"Hola." You grinned up at her as she appeared in the door way.
"Ay dios mío. Do we need this much?" Alexia's shocked face looks around the room, bending over to pick up some tiny socks.
"I couldn't resist! I went out with Alba and tu mama and we couldn't stop fussing over all of it and how little it all is! Like look at the size of these shoes!!" You crawled over to pick the small converse up and shoved them in her face with a small pout.
"This is going to be one stylish baby. She's very lucky." She held her arms out to help you up, your bump now much bigger which limited your mobilisation.
"She is one lucky baby." You bit your lip as you stroked your stomach, "I'm so excited."
"Me too, Cariño."
"How was training? Venga, i'll start dinner." You took hold of her hand and dragged her into the kitchen, giving her a questioning look as she didn't reply.
"The usual, girls asking about you and how your doing and a lot of strengthening." Alexia plopped onto one of the stalls as she spoke, yourself going quiet as you got some ingredients out to make your favourite pasta.
"I feel really bad. Do you think we should have told them?" You whipped yourself around, hugging the bunch of ingredients in your arms as you lip wobbled.
Alexia's eyes widened, knowing how emotional you have been lately the hormones fluctuating drastically.
"Baby, baby, hey. It's our life, our choice. We wanted to experience this privately and so far it has been amazing, it feels normal. Besides, they all love kids and once they see our beautiful girls face all accusations will be thrown out the window. Prometo." Alexia was now in front of you slowly removing the ingredients from your arms before they are all chucked everywhere, anger was a big one of your hormonal moods.
"Okay."
"Bueno, do you want me to do dinner?" She felt you nod against her shoulder, herself lifting your head up with your cheeks squished and pressing kisses all over your face.
"Estoy cansada. I want baby out now."
"I know, i know, t'estimo tant. Go sit down, we'll have dinner in the living room."
She frowned as she watched you wobble off towards the destination.
"You're having the next one!"
The next day, Alexia was training anxiously. She had left you that morning with some minor pains in your abdomen, a clear sign of near labor. You had convinced her to go to her rehab to not cause any suspicion and promised her that you'll be fine as her mum was coming round after she leaves.
In the physio room, she didn't want to leave her phone behind, staring at it for a good 20 minutes before she had to go out.
"You can take it out with you." Alexia's one on one coach told her with a smile on his face. "It's getting close, it's probably best."
"Gracias."
"No hay problema, i remember when my wife gave birth... i was with her the whole time, might not have been the best time of her life but it was mine. Helping my boy come into the world, she made me so proud."
Alexia smiled at him as his thoughts drifted off, going to get a ball of the side of the pitch.
"Also, remember to not take anything they say to heart during labor. I had some pretty mean things thrown at me and the grip of the hand hold is hard, so try not to break your hand."
"Of course, i've already had some pretty stern telling offs. Pretty sure that after she's born i'd be mothered, still, more than her."
The feeling of the ball at her feet distracted Alexia from her worries, there being no update from her mum or you, her phone staying relatively quiet during her session.
It wasn't until she was heading in for lunch when she started to feel her anxiety creeping up again, not allowing her phone screen to go dark.
"Hola.." Mapi caught up with her, shoving her arm around her shoulders.
"Hola." Alexia smiled at her quickly before returning her gaze to her phone, Mapi following on.
"Are you okay? You never have your phone at training, you don't like distractions?" Mapi's hand travelled down to the small of her back, her head tilting in front of Alexia's.
"Sí, todo bien. Just waiting for an update from my doctor..." They continued on walking towards the cafeteria, Alexia then putting her phone in her pocket to grab some food.
Mapi immediately went to sit down next to Ingrid, stealing her apple.
"Hey!" Ingrid stole her apple back after Mapi took one bite, giving her a weird look.
"I think something is wrong with Y/N."
"What do you mean?" Frido now joined in the conversation, concerned over the state of one of her best friends.
"I'm not sure, but Alexia seems anxious... she keeps looking at her phone every two seconds and... just look at her!" They all turned their heads towards Alexia, Mapi's point being proved with Alexia resting her elbow on the table with her forehead being rubbed by her palm.
"I'm sure it's nothing too bad... right?" Claudia, having come over with Patri and a few other girls, tried to reassure herself, as well as the others, worried about her missing team mum.
"Hopefully... i just really wish that they'd say something. Like, Y/N has been gone for ages and hasn't spoken to us once. It's ruining us and our focus is not on football." Ingrid placed her hand on Mapi's back, rubbing it up and down soothingly in response.
Suddenly, a loud blaring of a ringtone erupted in the room. Mapi's head flew off of Ingrid's shoulder and found Alexia frantically getting up to answer it. With a determined look, she got up and slowly followed Alexia out the room.
"Mapi!" Ingrid scolded, knowing Alexia won't be pleased with the lack of privacy and respect Mapi is showing.
"Is she okay? Is she coming?" Alexia slowed in the hallway, placing her hand on top of her head.
"She is?? Okay.. Okay.. erm.. joder! i'll be there soon i just need to get my stuff, are you on the way to the hospital?"
"Hospital?" Mapi whispered to herself as she rested against the wall around the corner.
"Okay, give me 20 minutes. Tell her i'll be with her soon, and that i love her and she's so incredibly strong and she should be so proud of herself." She rambled through the phone, pacing the small width of the hallway. "Okay, right, see you in a bit."
Alexia tucked her phone back in her pocket, rushing round the corner to bump straight into Mapi.
"Maps? What are you doing?"
"Erm.."
"Were you spying on me?.. You know what forget it." Alexia interrogated before she continued her fast walk down the hallway towards the locker room, Mapi following close behind.
"What's wrong with Y/N?"
"Nothing she's fine."
"Alexia!" Mapi took a hold of her arm to stop her from going any further, "Dime, do you not think this is affecting the team? We're all so worried and it's hurting us thinking she's going through something terrible and we can't help her!"
"Mapi, i promise you she's fine." Alexia reassured, tugging her arm out of her hold wanting to get to her wife as soon as possible.
"I heard the phone call Alexia. Why is she going to the hospital?" She tugged her back towards her gaze.
"For fuck sake, Mapi. Let me go."
"Just tell me!"
"She's pregnant, okay!?"
Mapi slowly let her arm slide out of her hold, Alexia slamming the changing room door open and frantically packing her stuff away.
"You guys are having a baby?"
"Sí, yes we are. She's gone into labor her water broke, we wanted to keep it private. Happy?" Alexia shoved her shoulder into Mapi's and made her way out.
"Omg... Omg!"
"Don't tell anyone yet, Mapi!"
"¡Prometo!" Mapi squealed to herself, already excited to meet her bestest friends baby.
"So, did you find out anything?" Claudia eagerly whispered to Mapi after training, watching as she packed her stuff away.
"She's okay, trust me." Mapi smirked to herself, Claudia and Ingrid both giving her a weird look.
"Why has she been so distant then?"
"You'll see."
"Why not tell me?"
"Because it's not something for me to tell." Mapi patted Claudia on the shoulder, "I promise you, she's okay."
Claudia flopped onto the bench with a huff as she watched Mapi and Ingrid stride out of the changing room. Her mind in continuous thought about what may be the reason to why you had been gone so long, the knowledge that her football mums have gone this long without revealing anything to her made her feel unwanted. Though she couldn't feel like that, she was an adult after all.
Many hours later in the early morning of the next day, you were sleepily watching your loved one cradle your newborn to her chest. You smiled as you watched her bend her head down to rub her nose against hers, her eyes appearing glossy as she looked back at you.
"Oh, mi amor... she's perfect." Alexia bit her lip at the sight of her relaxed daughter.
"She has your eyes, and nose... practically all of you as she was your egg." You rolled your eyes jokingly as you shuffled in bed.
Alexia chuckled with a sniff, wiping some of the tears from her face.
"Elena." You whispered, you face displaying adoration for your little family.
"¿Que?"
"Her name. Elena? Elena Putellas Segura?"
You could see Alexia's smile widen, her face revelling in a small glow as she nodded.
"I love it." Alexia got up to pass the sleeping baby back to you, yourself moving over to allow her to join you. "I love you. I'm so proud".
"Oh and by the way, Mapi knows."
"Of course." You huffed at the lack of secret keeping between the two best friends. "She was going to find out sooner than later."
That whole night Alexia didn't sleep a wink, wanting to watch over the most precious thing she has. As well as you. She didn't allow her touch to leave hers, wanting Elena to feel she's wanted and protected. "I am never going to let anything bad happen to you, mi amor."
In response, she had gripped her finger so tightly, almost as if she remembers Alexia's voice. The whole night they stayed like that, no distractions just pure love.
The next few weeks were bliss, your daughter turned out perfect. You and Alexia had slept through most nights, Elena not kicking up no more than just one small fuss a night for a feed. The secret still going while Alexia trained, although with the continuous annoyance of Mapi pestering in her ear.
You had also started your rehab, though also in secret. You didn't want the interrogation yet and would rather do so with Alexia, your post natal emotions still not up to speed. You had been going into the Joan Gamper, the trainers helping you with avoiding any of your teammates, and training on a separate pitch.
After a few months, you both were back to standard fitness. The physios having cleared you to go back to training now after Alexia did a few weeks back. She was glad, you not so much.
"They've seen you! They know you're okay! I have been avoiding them for a straight year nearly!"
"Baby, it's okay. We'll explain everything." Alexia tried to calm you down as you were having a literal melt down in the kitchen after finding out the news.
"Oh hey, i'm back yes i've been gone ages, i've had a baby with Alexia and we decided not to tell you all, i know it's full on but we are happy and we don't care about what you think." You blabbered in the conversation, making out to her that this is a big deal.
"Why don't we take her with us, she's a bit bigger now." Alexia sighed rubbing her hand over her face.
"And what would we do? Who would look after her?"
"How about we meet them before?"
You stopped to think for a second, looking at the floor. Your trail interrupted as you heard a strangled cry coming from the bedroom, you and Alexia both snapping your heads towards it.
"I'll get her."
"No, i'll get her. I need to think." You rounded the kitchen island, placing your hand on her shoulder to push her back down gently in her seat.
Picking the chubby baby up from her crib, you rocked her on you hip to soothe her, pressing kisses on her head.
After she had let out a giggle from your silly faces, you laid her down to change her and grabbed her some clothes.
After you had done so, you pulled her up into a sitting position and she stared at you with a wide toothless smile.
"What am i going to do?" You ask her rhetorically, sweeping you hand through her messy dark baby hairs.
She just gurgled and slapped her hand onto your face, which she seemed to find funny. With a scrunched face, you removed her small fingers and picked her up once again taking her downstairs.
"ahh, bebé is awake." Alexia put down the snack she was eating on the counter and brushed her hands away of any crumbs before reaching out, Elena doing so too.
"Hola, pequeña." She had settled on her lap straight away, intrigued with what was on her plate, while Alexia pressed kisses to her cheek.
"I think i've figured out a plan..."
"Mhm, go on." She listened to you, swiping her hair behind her shoulders away from Elenas reach.
"I'll pick you up from training tomorrow. I'll be in the changing room waiting for you with her... but you got to be the first one in and you have to promise me that." You pointed your index finger at her with a serious face.
"That sounds like a perfect plan, cariño."
"Yeah... i just hope they aren't too mad." You exhaled as you turned to lean on the side.
"Hey..." She grabbed a hold of your hand and pulled you closer towards her. "Don't worry, even if they are mad they can't be for too long. Besides Mapi will fight anyone off."
You gave a small scoff of a laugh and allowed Alexia to bring you in for a small kiss. "A little hostility is nothing compared to what you've brought to the world."
Elena also agreeing with a loud squeal, making her presence known once again. You both jumping slightly at the high pitched noise, as well as Nala who was cosied at Alexia's feet.
It was near the end of Alexia's training the next day and you, to say, were shitting it. You and Elena were sat in the car park in your usual spot before time changed, your leg bouncing up and down as you stared at the sleeping baby in her car seat from the rear view mirror.
"Okay, vamos. Calm down, we'll be fine. Everything will be fine." You hyped yourself up as you came back to reality, reaching to unbuckle your seatbelt and get out the car before rounding the other side to carefully extract Elena with her car seat.
Being careful not to disturb her you slowly made your way towards the front entrance, your hands shaking was not helping to keep her steady and you didn't notice that she was stirring awake.
"Ay dios mío! It's so good to see you again!" One of the photographers you'd come to know quite well spotted you entering before her eyes trailed down to what was in your hands.
"No you did not."
"I did." You giggled as you turned the car seat towards her view.
"Y/N... she's perfect." She crouched down to Elenas view, tickling her finger across her cheek which elicited a cute giggle.
"You have kept this cutie a secret all this time?"
"Yep, now i'm going to surprise the team." You huffed with pursed lips, still not excited for their reaction.
"I'm sure they'll be fine." She got up from her position still eyeing your baby with a big smile on her face. "Anyway, i'll let you get going. See you later."
"See you."
You continued your way down the long hallway before the changing room sign entered your view, pushing the door open. The sight of the changing room brought back memories, it hadn't changed one bit. Your locker still had your name on it and was still next to Alexia's, you moved over to it to finally place the heavy carrier down and look around.
You sat down on the allocated bench seat in front of your locker and hastily undid Elenas seatbelt to pick her up, needing a bit of emotional support. You placed her in your lap, grabbing one of her toys from your bag to distract her with.
You saw the time on your phone and it was about 2 seconds until training finished, your heart racing as you leant your lips gently on her head.
Your trance was knocked away when the door opened, you snapping your head up to see Alexia making her way over to you.
"Hi baby, you alright?" She leant down to press a quick kiss to your lips before pressing one to Elena's head.
"No." You answered, biting you nails with the hand that was not keeping Elena steady.
"It's going to be fi..." Your wife started before the door flung open once again an overjoyed Mapi coming bounding over to you.
"You stupid bitch! How could you keep this beautiful little thing from me!" Mapi giggled as she pushed Alexia out of the way to be able to sit down next to you, Elena seeming to like her bubbly personality and wanting to climb over to her.
"Hola. You must be Elena, it is very nice to finally meet you." Mapi started a conversation with the babbling baby as she got settled on her lap, fisting her training top.
"Is it only you training or something? Where are the others?"
"They're coming.."
All of a sudden, a loud racket appeared into the room, but turned silent once they spotted you.
"Where have you been?" One of them asked before you answered by looking at the baby in Mapi's lap who was trying to twist her body around to see what was going on.
"No way."
"What the fuck."
"A BABY."
"Everyone, meet Elena our daughter." Alexia slowly introduced the few month old, grabbing her from Mapi who pouted at the loss of her presence.
Everyone clambered over to Alexia and your newest addition to the family, all but one. Claudia was shocked you could tell, diverting her gaze between Elena and yourself.
"Claudia." You attract her full attention and reach your hand out, as she got closer you could see her glossy eyes.
"Clau... hey, talk to me."
"I thought something really bad happened to you... ¿Que cojones?" A lone tear fell down her cheek, you hand immediately swiping it away before pulling her into a hug.
"I'm sorry Clau, i'm so sorry. I didn't mean to leave you all in the dark, i promise, but it was too late. It felt too late."
Claudia sniffled into your shoulder, relieved to finally be in your hold after all these months.
"Can i hold her?"
"Of course you can, cariño. She's practically your little sister." You rubbed her back as you let her go, making your way over to Aitana who was sitting with her on the floor.
"Times up with the play time." You clapped as Elena looked up at you, picking her up and placing her onto your hip. You were just about to turn around when you were engulfed in a massive group hug, them all obviously being careful to avoid suffocating the baby in your arms.
"Oh... guys." Your heart warmed at the gesture, still feeling the love you have always felt.
"We're all so happy for you Y/N, even though you kept this all from us and made us think you were dying... we're proud and we love you." Marta pressed a kiss to your cheek and made it clear to you that all your worries were wrong, your post natal emotions were still strong and you were fully in tears, letting out a wet laugh of relief before they all returned to their lockers.
You made your way over to Claudia and Alexia who were having a deep conversation as they sat on the bench.
"You still want to hold her?"
"Sí, por favor."
Once you had placed Elena into her arms, you had never seen her react more positively. She took a straight liking to Claudia, wanting to be as close to her as possible and placing both her chubby hands on her cheeks.
"Oh wow. She's chosen a favourite." Alexia and you looked at each other in surprise, as you heard them both giggling, Claudia having found a random toy from your locker.
"Sisterly love."
Coming back to training with your beloved team made you feel on top of the world, your life becoming more and more the better. Having a ball at your feet to having baby snuggles at night, you couldn't see it getting any better. Until your and Alexia's debut came.
Jonatan had decided that it would be the best moment to substitute you both on at the same time, making the comeback just that little bit more perfect for the fans. You both were ecstatic you could be involved in the game that could decide the title run, especially when your daughter was in the stands.
Once the substitutions were both announced by the 4th official, the crowd went wild, mostly for Alexia as they were chanting her name the most. You looked at her with admiration, you loved her and you loved that Elena had her as her mother.
"Te quiero."
Alexia turns her head towards you, reaching to grab your hand without gaining much attention.
"Yo también, te quiero mucho. Ets la millor mare que pot tenir l'Elena i estic molt agraït que ho siguis." (You are the best mother that Elena could ever have and i am so grateful that you are.)
"Para, em faràs plorar." (Stop, your going to make me cry.) You slightly wipe your eye before running onto the pitch with Alexia trailing behind, looking to where Alexia's mum said she'd be with Elena.
The game ended 3-0, which meant you won La liga F. Hugging every single teammate that came into view as you made your way to your wife.
"Welcome back, Mama."
"Back to you as well, amor." She wrapped her arms around your waist and picked you up, your legs wrapping round hers as you buried your face in her neck.
She released you to find tears flowing down your face, her own softening as she reached out to wipe them away.
"Shall we go find la pequeña?"
You nodded as you felt her guide you over to the stands with her hand placed securely on your back, only revealing your face once again when you heard the familiar squeal.
Alexia had taken her into her arms from her mother while you pulled yourself together, exchanging thank yous and congratulations with your families. You could hear fans around you speculating about who the child getting so much attention from you both was, you basically giving the hint when you kiss her cheeks.
You held her close as they were celebrating Alexia’s come back, you refusing to be lifted up in the air, especially as your insides have not been the same since. Elena’s face was a look of pure worry as you pointed out the action, until you started laughing and she started too, one of the media personnel getting it on camera.
You and Alexia didn’t mind the attention, wanting to be as truthful to the public from now on after hiding it for so long. So, when she did her speech, she announced the newest addition to the team and confessed to where you’d been, Elena clapping as she heard loud cheers for herself before fiddling with your medal.
“We did good, yeah?” Alexia asked you later that night when she climbed into bed after settling Elena down, you snuggling up to her.
“Yeah, we did good.”
Tell Them Your Truth  • Alexia Putellas & Claudia Pina
Tumblr media
Request: Love your writing! Could you maybe write another part to Soccer Moms? I know the Barca team has mentioned that Claudia gets sick a lot, so maybe something with Reader and Alexia having to care for her and she doesn't want to be a burden or them finding out she's not feeling well during practice but she tries to continue anyways. Also, if you want to, could you maybe add Aitana as a sister, I feel like she'd fit in well (but if you don't want to, you don't have to). Also, sorry this is so long!
Word count: 3,9k (starting to realize that I enjoy these just as much as you do:)
Claudia lifts a spare shirt to her mouth as she tries to quietly clear her throat. Her eyes are alert as she peeks over the material, looking around as subtly as possible to see if anyone had noticed her. When no one bats an eye at her actions, she lowers the shirt from her mouth and with the same movement she shoves it back into her backpack.
She leans back in her cubby as she listens to the girls goof around before practice, but for once she doesn’t join them. Far too out of it to even think about such things.
This has been going on for a couple of days now, her state only worsening to the point that she now felt tired even before starting warm ups.
“You coming, Pina?” her head shoots up at the sound of her name and she shoots Patri a questioning look. It’s only when she receives an equally confused look does she glance around the changing room, now noticing that most of the girls have headed out to the pitch.
“Uh yeah yeah” she nods, slowly coming to her senses. Patri eyes her with curiosity but the short girl dismisses her concern with a wave of her hand, opting to just follow behind her friend.
Claudia clears her throat again as her and Patri walk out. The sun seems too bright as it hits her right in the eye and she almost groans aloud, wanting nothing more than to go back home and curl up under her blanket.
Patri turns at the noise but finds Pina looking down at her boots and she shrugs at her friend’s behavior. Maybe she just wasn’t having the best of days.
With that thought Patri throws an arm around Claudia’s shoulders who’s taken aback by the sudden movement and she suddenly feels dizzy, not that she’d tell anyone.
“Partners like usual?” she merely nods at the question, too busy with trying to come back to life.
Even though her legs feel like bricks and she’s craving something hot to soothe her sore throat, the forward forces herself to act like she’s having the best time at practice.
She almost lets a tear slip in relief when the end of training is called. She lets herself sit on the grass and breathe a heavy breath through her congested nose. The brunette lifts her gaze back onto her teammates, but when she notices you looking her way she instantly turns her attention elsewhere.
Just as you start to walk towards her the girl quickly jumps up to her feet and clings onto Aitana’s arm who had been walking by. A muddled expression flashes across your face but you turn back to Alexia as she gives your hand a squeeze.
Aitana however, looks at Claudia in a mix of surprise and bewilderment.
“Are you okay?” she timidly asks, not sure why her friend has been so quick to stick to her side. Claudia rapidly nods her head at the question, guiding Aitana towards the locker room. The midfielder takes notice of the slight redness of her eyes but decides against commenting on it. The two continue their way towards their stuff as they exchange a few words but Aitana quickly gets the impression that her friend is a bit too tired to continue any means of communication.
By the time you and Alexia enter the changing room, having had to stay back for some coach-to-captains talk with Jonatan, most of your teammates have already left.
Only a few have hung back to bid their goodbyes and as you hug Mapi one last time, you notice another person still sitting by their locker. You motion to her when your girlfriend’s eyes connect with yours and Alexia approaches her.
“Pinita?” she calls her name out softly as she crouches in front of the girl and Claudia hums at her in question, resting her head against the wood.
“Is everything okay bebé?” the question makes her sit up straighter as if she just realized something and Claudia rubs her eyes as she slings the strap of her backpack over her shoulder.
“Sí, all good. I just didn’t sleep well last night so I’m a little tired.” she makes up the excuse on the spot and before either of you can open your mouths to interject, she presses a quick kiss to both of yours and Alexia’s cheek and she bolts out the door.
The two of you stare at the now closed door, wondering what had gotten into the young forward. Slowly turning to the brunette by your side you raise your eyebrows.
“That wasn’t weird at all.” your comment earns you a soft chuckle from Alexia.
“She’s just tired.” she wraps an arm around your waist as she pulls you into her body. “Speaking of tired, you wanna go home and cuddle up on the couch with Nala?” her voice is sweet and there’s a twinkle in her eyes as she gazes into yours that makes it impossible for you to not pull her down for a kiss.
“Sí mi amor, siempre.”
Meanwhile you and Alexia gather the last of your things in the changing room, Aitana is just about to get in her car when she hears someone sneeze. She stops halfway through opening the car door and she glances around her with her eyebrows furrowed. She had thought she was the only one here. Her eyes zero in on the ponytail sticking out above a car near her and she sneaks closer.
“Don’t tell me you’re sick again!” her voice startles Pina who lets out a loud shriek in return before she’s cut off by another sneeze. She taps at her pockets in search of something but Aitana hands her a tissue without a word.
“Thanks.” the forward sniffles and then blows her nose out, cutting off Aitana who was about to speak again. Aitana watches on as her friend fills the tissue, a repelled look on her face.
“Yeah, get it all out I suppose” she mutters, stuffing another tissue into Claudia’s pocket as she finally finishes.
“So?”
“So what?”
“Are you sick again?” Her silence speaks volumes and the ‘are you kidding me’ look on Aitana’s face isn’t helping her feel better.
“I swear it’s not my fault-”
“Claudia you were sick like two weeks ago too!” she throws her arms up in frustration, frustration which roots from her worry for the brunette.
“Okay but…” Aitana raises an eyebrow, waiting for whatever excuse the young player had for now.
“Nevermind, I don’t have anything.” Claudia shrugs nonchalantly before sniffing again. With the mother-like pose that Aitana is supporting with her hands on her hips and a disapproving look in her eyes, Pina knows what’s coming next. This time Aitana is cut off by her voice rather than her blowing her nose out.
“Please please don’t tell mi mamás, I don’t want to miss training and I don’t want to annoy them with this again. Pleasee!” her please catch Aitana off guard whose expression softens when Claudia reveals how she feels.
“You think you’d annoy Y/N/N and Ale?” her disbelieving tone makes Claudia huff out a breath through her nose.
“I don’t want to worry them. They smothered me with care last time and constantly came over to bring me soup and tuck me into bed and check my fever and-” she lets out a sigh. “You get it”
“So why not just tell them you don’t want that?” Aitana is utterly confused as to why the forward thought this was such a complicated situation.
“But I do want it!” Claudia all but whines, arms crossing over her chest in a defensive manner. Clearly her sickness had gotten her in a mood.
“Okay, I don’t get it”
“If they know about this then they’ll worry about me-”
“Is that not a good thing?” Pina gives Aitana a look for being cut off.
“No, because it means they will spend their time worrying about me instead of being at training and getting ready for our next game. I don’t want them to pause their lives to take care of me” she finally admits and this time Aitana pulls her into a comforting hug, now understanding why this was such a difficult and overwhelming situation for Claudia.
“Wait actually, you’ll get me sick too” she pulls away from her and Aitana smiles when Claudia snorts at her antics.
“But I understand now and I won’t tell them, even though they’re our captains and you probably should” she gives Pina one last look, waiting for her to change her mind but the brunette doesn’t budge. “Well, if that’s what you really want” she shrugs as she gives in to Claudia who thanks her profusely.
“Butttt, get some sleep today and take some coughing meds”
“Sí claro. Gracias Tana!” Pina shouts after her friend who waves her off as she finally gets in her car.
The next day at training begins similarly for the young forward and she tiredly trudges into the locker room before letting her bag fall onto the bench with a loud thump. This time, many of the girls eye her with curiosity but Pina pays them no mind, the throbbing in her head far too painful to care.
She’s just about finished getting ready and is tying her boots when someone sits next to her and leans down to her level with their hand situated on her back.
“If you don’t want the whole team to know before you could tell Ale and Y/N/N, then stop sniffling and blow your nose out.” Aitana whispers to her and she pushes a tissue into her hand.
Claudia glances up alarmed but when she notices that the two of you aren’t here yet, she calms herself down and excuses herself to the bathroom to blow her nose out. That way no one would hear just how congested she is and no one would tell on her.
When she re-enters the room she finds that the team’s captains have finally arrived, or more so just made their presences known because you’re both already dressed in your training kits and comfortably talking to Mapi and Ingrid.
Claudia watches the two of you from her seat across you and her eyes wander over your form before she spots your hand on Alexia’s thigh. She watches as you rub soothing circles into the skin of your girlfriend’s thigh and how in return, the midfielder scoots closer to you and leans her head on your shoulder.
She lets out a quiet sigh without knowing, wishing that she would also be receiving such comforting embraces, especially now that she feels under the weather.
For a second she genuinely considers walking over and plopping herself in between you and Alexia, but then she remembers that she’s trying to keep a secret from you.
Alexia feels the young girl staring and she squeezes the hand that’s on her thigh to gain your attention.
“Pinita is staring at us” she whispers to you so as to not alert anyone else. “And I’m not sure if I’m seeing right, but are her eyes red to you too?” upon hearing her concerned voice you instantly turn towards the young brunette and your eyes scan over her clearly tired expression. Pina’s eyes connect with yours and she lowers her head to turn back to tying her boots, only to find that they’re already tied.
“Maybe she had another bad night?” it’s a valid suggestion from your part since it is the excuse Claudia had made yesterday. Even though Alexia can hear the uncertainty in your voice and she’s just as unsure, she nods at your words.
“Yeah, maybe.”
Minutes later when the team finally start their way towards the pitch, Claudia is quick to run after Aitana and Patri before Alexia can greet her with a hug.
The bewilderment in her eyes as she joins you again, makes you knit your brows together.
“Is it just me or is she avoiding us?” Alexia voices her thoughts as she turns to you, a sad smile resting on her face.
“Thought I was imagining things.” you confirm with the same expression and you press a small kiss to her cheek hoping to calm her racing thoughts.
With the way Claudia has been behaving, Alexia keeps a close eye on the brunette the whole time during warm ups, so much so that you have to nudge her out of her staring contest with the back of Pina’s head.
The team is almost halfway through practice, doing running drills when you hear a small sneeze behind you. Beyond being confused at the sound you abruptly turn around only to find Patri, Aitana, and Pina all staring at you with wide eyes.
“Who was that?”
“Who was what?” Patri tries to outsmart you, having picked up on Pina’s state.
“The sneeze. Who sneezed?” you narrow your eyes at one of them in particular and Claudia lowers her slightly bloodshot eyes. She stays silent knowing that if she were to open her mouth you would hear her nasally voice.
“Me! Me, it was me.” Aitana’s words are accompanied by nods and she wipes at her nose for good measure, utilizing all of her acting skills in front of you.
You're not very convinced but you ignore your worry for the moment, choosing to instead focus on the drill when it is your turn. You don’t hear the breath of relief behind you, or Pina thanking Aitana for covering for her and you certainly don’t see the knowing look Patri gives her best friend.
Pina steers clear of you after that, and Alexia, and basically everyone in order to keep up her act.
When Jonatan calls for a scrimmage she knows practice is almost over and she relaxes a bit at the thought of not having to pretend for much longer.
She ends up on your team and while normally she would be hanging off your neck in happiness, she only trudges over to your side in silence.
Alexia watches from the other side of the pitch and by now she is beyond concerned for Claudia.
The scrimmage is going well with your team two goals ahead of Alexia’s, you make sure to rub it in her face, only playfully of course. And truly all is good when Pina sends another cross your way and you control the ball as you try to outsmart Cata.
Claudia’s feet come to a stop as she rapidly breathes in only to then hunch over and break out in a coughing fit. Her eyes prick with tears as her sore throat is abused by the loud coughs that rake through her body and she is barely able to get in a breath before she’s coughing again.
Aitana’s eyes are instantly on the forward and she quickly walks over to stand in front of her friend, still trying to cover for her.
The noise however catches everyone’s attention, except yours because you’re too busy scoring a goal and hearing your own heavy breathing to hear Pina way behind you.
Alexia’s mom mode is immediately activated and she runs over to Claudia without a second thought. She places a comforting hand on her back and pats her gently to help clear Pina’s throat. When Pina is finished, she inhales a sharp deep breath and straightens up, coming face to face with her captain.
“Sit down Claudia” Alexia orders firmly, but the worry shines through her voice. Pina follows her instructions though and when a bottle is pushed into her hands she eagerly chugs it down.
By now you have also turned around and when you see half the team standing near something, you furrow your brows. Deciding it’s best to see what was up you abandon celebrating your goal and instead run back to where you can see Alexia towering over the others.
“What happened?” you ask breathlessly, eyes searching your girlfriend’s for answers. She gestures to Claudia on the ground and you drop down to your knees next to the girl.
Your eyes rake over her form, searching for any injuries but when you don’t find any you glance back up at Alexia.
“She’s sick and has a coughing fit. And by the sounds of it she didn’t get sick last night.” Alexia places a gentle hand on Pina’s head and she carefully sweeps the baby hairs out of the girl’s eyes.
Your expression morphs into worry, confusion, and then a slightly hurt look as you turn to Claudia.
“Why didn’t you tell us?” you don’t receive a verbal answer, only a guilty look and you sigh, instead raising the bottle back to her mouth and urging her to drink more. With one last look at the girl you stand back up, giving Alexia’s shoulder a squeeze and then you stand by to explain the situation to Jonatan.
He agrees to call the end of practice a few minutes early and tells the rest of the girls to stretch and cool down, allowing the three of you to head inside to check out Pina.
You remain silent on the walk to the changing room and Pina glances up at you every now and then but she stays firmly tucked into Alexia’s side, allowing herself to soak up the affection she’s been missing out on.
“Go ahead and get changed, I’ll get the stuff from the medics.” you inform Alexia and she nods at you, pressing a quick kiss to your temple before letting you go. She guides the young forward into the changing room and sits her down in her cubby, draping one of your hoodies over the brunette.
“Pinita” Alexia sits next to her with a small sigh, pulling her to lean into her.
“When did all of this happen? You were sick just the other week”
“I know, I know. I left the air conditioning running after I got home from training and…I guess sitting under it while still hot and sweaty- it wasn’t the best idea.” she admits regretfully and her captain chuckles along.
“Well, at least you know now.” just as Claudia thinks she’s off the hook Alexia continues.
 “But it wasn’t smart of you to continue training while you were clearly sick. This could’ve ended way worse Pina, you could’ve caused yourself serious stuff” she seemingly can’t find the right words, her mind once again consumed with fret.
The forward nods into her shoulder, wearing a guilty expression. Alexia lifts a hand to her forehead and Claudia jerks back at the coldness of it.
“You even have a fever, Pina!” she shrinks back at the tone of her voice.
“Why didn’t you tell us, or someone?” the midfielder questions further.
“I told Aitana, well technically she found out. But I didn’t want to worry you.”
“Pinita bebé, we’re always going to worry about you, no matter what.” Alexia tells her softly, rubbing the girl's shoulder.
“Sí, but I knew you would abandon everything else to take care of me. You would’ve missed training then and then maybe even a game.” she explains her reasoning and Alexia sighs.
“I would’ve rather missed a game than have you rip your lungs open in a coughing fit.” your voice rings out and it startles Claudia who hasn’t been paying attention to the door.
Your hands are full with what she could only assume were coughing syrups and other tablets and medicine for her. Suddenly she feels even worse for lying - or well keeping this from the two of you.
“It wasn’t that serious-” she stops talking as you dump everything next to her and you move to take her temperature.
“It could’ve been.” you ignore the look you receive from your girlfriend but you do get the hint and with a deep breath in, you allow your softness to take over you.
“Querida, this isn’t something to joke about. You should’ve told Ale and I about how you were feeling, amor. We could’ve stopped it from getting worse.” you stroke her cheek as you look at the number on the machine, shaking your head when you see just how high her temperature is. Claudia melts into your touch and sinks even further into your girlfriend’s hold.
“I didn’t want to be a burden.” she mumbles out as her eyes gloss over. Your movements halt at the hearing of her statement and you glance up at Alexia almost as if waiting for confirmation that you’ve really heard what you heard.
The midfielder tightens her hold on Pina.
“You’re far from being a burden Pinita, so far from it.” she mutters into Claudia’s hair. You crouch down in front of her and take her hands into your own, your thumbs running over her knuckles in a soothing manner.
“Worrying about you, taking care of you isn’t a chore, mi vida. We do it because we love you. Don’t ever think of it differently.” you tell her sincerely, your voice soft and comforting. Claudia nods at the two of you and she lets a tear fall before she physically lets herself fall into your arms, pulling Alexia with her.
The three of you stay in a tight embrace kneeling slightly uncomfortably on the floor of the locker room, but you and Alexia wouldn’t have it any other way if it meant Claudia felt safe.
“Thank you” she whispers as her grip on your shirts loosen. Alexia smiles at her and kisses her head in a motherly manner while you slightly pull back from the two.
“Okay, enough of this now, I can’t go another second knowing you’re sick and not do anything about it.” the laughs you receive instantly lightens the atmosphere and you offer a hand to each of your girls and pull them up to their feet.
“Drink some of this and then we can go home and cuddle up” you push the coughing syrup into Pina’s hand who pulls a face at it but quickly nods at your words, her mind already wandering to what movie the three of you could watch.
“I’ll make soup for you, bebé.” Alexia states and you smile at your girlfriend's enthusiasm to take care of your sick teammate.
Your arms wrap themselves around her as Claudia gathers her things and you press a lingering kiss to the underside of her jaw. Alexia’s eyes shine with adoration as she gazes down at you and just as she’s about to kiss you, you’re interrupted by Pina clearing her throat.
She gives the two of you a sheepish look.
“Can Aitana join us?” she fiddles with the strap of her backpack and your heart melts at her cuteness.
“Sure, go get her.” Alexia smiles at Pina without moving from your embrace and you watch as the forward skips out of the changing room.
Later that evening, the three of you are all mushed together on the couch of the living room, Aitana and Patri squished onto the sofa chair as they share a bowl of popcorn, eyes intently watching the movie playing in front of you all.
As Claudia glances around, she relishes in the comfort and warmth that she feels, her throat feels a lot better thanks to the amount of syrup you had forced her to take, plus Alexia’s soup. Just before her eyes slip closed, she thinks that perhaps next time it wouldn’t be a bad idea to tell the two of you about her being sick, especially if it resulted in such movie nights.
Claudia is bored due to her injury, you struggle to keep her entertained
Tumblr media
It had now been a week since Claudia’s injury. Things had definitely started to improve since your talk a few days ago. Your girlfriend was clearly still feeling down but now it was in a way that was more expected given her injury. The focal point of her frustration was now her boredom. Unable to navigate without crutches and still advised to be resting, she was yet to leave the apartment.
Claudia was getting more and more restless by the minute. All of her favorite things involved movement- football, working out, partying with her friends, exploring with you. Your girlfriend wasn’t exactly known for being still. That’s part of what had originally drawn you to Claudia- how she was always bouncing around and full of energy. The new limitations on her were providing both a new challenge.
The second you walked in from training you were greeted by your girlfriend groaning dramatically on the couch. “Amooorrrrr,” you chuckled lightly as you made your way over to sit by her. As soon as you sat down, she laid her head across your lap, continuing her dramatics. “I’m boooorrrreeedd. Please tell me you brought me something to do,” Claudia pleaded with you even though it was clear you had come home empty handed.
“Sorry to disappoint, my love,” you ran your hand through her hair as you spoke, “just me today.” You noticed Claudia’s face change into a suggestive smirk. All you could do was blush and give her a playful eye roll, knowing that what she was hoping for wouldn’t be possible with her current lack of mobility.
“Mmm, I like seeing you blush because of me, baby,” she mumbled into your skin as she pressed a lingering kiss into your hip.
“Clau, that’s not gonna happen today and you know it.” Your girlfriend gave you another groan, this time accompanied by a major pout. All you could do was smile at your girlfriend, seeing her dimples poking through even though she was pouting at you. “But we can do anything else you want? We could watch a movie?”
“Nooo, I’ve been doing that all day,” this time she had punctuated her sentence with an equally dramatic sigh.
You tried offering your girlfriend some more suggestions, “what about a game of FIFA?” This got her attention as rarely played video games. After a few seconds of contemplation, Claudia took you up on your offer. You got it all set up and got each of you a controller as she got better settled into the couch.
The pair of you happily settled into the game. For a while she had settled on trying to help you improve your playing. You definitely couldn’t complain about how your girlfriend would hold your hands in her’s, teaching you all the little tricks to the game that came naturally to her. When she got tired of helping you, the two of you switched to playing against each other. Despite her help, you still were no match for Claudia. It didn’t take long before she started getting bored of how easily she was beating you. After three times, she returned back to her whining at you, “amorrrr, this isn’t fun anymore.”
You felt terrible for her. It was clear how much she was struggling with being stuck at home, but it’s also what the doctor had recommended. Especially given that it had only been a week, you didn’t feel comfortable going against that yet. “I’m sorry, Clau. I wish I knew how to help you,” you let out a heavy sigh, looking to her in hopes she’d give you any sort of lead on what could help her.
“The girls are going out tonight…” she looked at you hesitantly, already knowing what you were gonna say. “What if we just went for a little bit? It wouldn’t have to be long! And I wouldn’t drink or anything! I just need something other than this stupid couch.” You felt terrible, watching as your girlfriend pleaded with you. It broke your heart knowing that going out tonight was a terrible idea. You had already heard the girls planning their night and you knew that the club they were going to was going to be crazy. It was well known for being packed with people, an environment that would be nearly impossible for your girlfriend to navigate on her crutches.
“Clau,” you sighed, stroking her face gently with your hand. “Do you know where it is they’re going tonight?” the brunette shook her head tentatively, knowing this couldn’t be going in the direction she was hoping for. “Well I do. And it’s really not a good idea. I’m sorry, mi amor. I wish I had another answer for you.”
Her face fell even though you knew she understood. She nodded as she collapsed against you, falling into your arms. As much as it hurt you to see the one you loved in so much pain, you appreciated her newfound ability to express her emotions more openly with you. All you could do right now was hold her tightly and reassure her that this wouldn’t last much longer. After it had been a while of Claudia laying with you, you realized she was sleeping lightly in your arms. It seemed like a good idea to let her sleep. At the very least, it would pass the time while you came up with some ideas to make your girlfriend feel better..
After lots of thinking and texts with the girls, you had landed on the perfect plan. You had decided that if you couldn’t bring your girlfriend to the party, you’d bring the party to her. Between Mapi, Patri, and Alexia, you had arranged jobs for everyone in order to essentially arrange a surprise party for someone who wouldn’t be leaving your house.
Claudia had woken up late in the afternoon, hungry of course. Your latest job was to convince her to put off supper, knowing that the girls would be arriving with food soon. “Amor, maybe you’d feel better if you changed clothes?” You knew that she’d be much more appreciative of everyone coming over if she looked more like herself.
“Whyyyy?” she got back to her slightly whiny and pouty mood, reminded of how little she could do. “It’s so late in the day I don’t see why I should get dressed now? I just want to eat, mi amor.” Your girlfriend looked at you longingly, giving you puppy-dog eyes to get you on her side.
“I’ll get you food soon I promise. Just please trust me, Clau? I really think you’ll feel better,” now you were giving her the same puppy dog eyes, trying the same tactic back on her. It seemed to work as she gave in, letting you pick her up in your arms, carrying her to the bedroom. You set your girlfriend gently on the bed, while you went to pick out a fresh set of clothes.
With Claudia’s guidance, you had grabbed her a plain black t-shirt and a pair of black cargo pants. You knew she needed to be comfortable but would also appreciate looking a little better than she had the past week. She moved to sit on the edge of your bed so you were able to help her get changed. You pulled her t-shirt over her head gently, watching as a smirk grew on her face. It put your mind at ease, knowing that your girlfriend's typical suggestive attitude hadn’t yet disappeared. “Don’t even think about it, mi amor,” you warned her jokingly, making sure she didn’t get her hopes up. All you got in return was a light glare as you pulled the clean shirt on for her. The situation repeated as you carefully changed her pants, working gently past her boot. Changing clothes did seem to put her in a slightly better mood, looking and feeling a little more herself. She pulled out her messy ponytail and handed it to you, silently asking you to redo it for her, which you happily complied with.
Now that she was looking and feeling better, you picked her your girlfriend once again and carried her into the kitchen, setting her on a chair at your kitchen table. Right on time, you heard a knock at the door before Mapi let herself in, Ingrid in tow. In her hands was a bag of takeout from Claudia’s favorite restaurant. You had arranged for some of your closest friends to come eat with you before more of the girls came over to hang out later.
Confusion was clear on your girlfriend's face as she saw who had arrived, “Mapi? Ingrid? What are you guys doing here?” She looked between the two of them for answers before landing on you as well.
Finally, Ingrid decided to be the one to answer her, “we heard you could use some company, so we brought dinner.” You, Ingrid, and Mapi were all smirking, happy that the first part of your surprise had worked. Claudia looked over to you, knowing you were behind this. Her face was full of appreciation for how you had arranged this.
Just as Mapi started getting the food out, Patri and Alexia arrived together. Patri walked in greeting everyone loudly, knowing that it was exactly what her injured friend would want. “Hola, mi amigas!” Claudia’s face lit up upon seeing her two best friends walking through the door, seemingly understanding what was now happening. Patri went straight to her best friend, giving her a tight squeeze and a kiss on the top of her head.
Alexia went to you, her arms carrying bags full of a variety of alcohol. Her job was to bring things for the party later tonight and she seemed to have taken that job quite seriously. You put it all away, thanking her quietly while Patri caught up with your girlfriend. “Pina must be doing better now, si?” the Catalan questioned you while the others were distracted in conversation.
You nodded in response, “much better, just getting tired of not being able to do much.”
Alexia nodded understandingly, having recently spent plenty of time injured as well. “This will help,” she assured you. “You know her well, this will be perfect for her,” she gave you a small hug before the two of you began unboxing the food for everyone. While the six of you ate, you happily remained somewhat quiet, taking in the conversations among the rest of the group. Everyone was catching up with Claudia who was the most talkative you’d seen her all week. Watching her was a glimpse of her normal, energetic self and you just wanted to appreciate it while you could.
You let your girlfriend continue to get lost in conversation with Patri and Mapi while the rest of you started cleaning up the dishes. More of the girls would start arriving soon and you wanted to be ready. Ingrid went to your living room, cleaning up any of the remnants of the last week that Claudia had spent on the couch. Alexia started making some drinks so the party could start as soon as the others arrived. The captain had given everyone strict orders that they couldn’t stay over too late as Claudia would need the rest. She made sure everyone would be ready to start the night early, as soon as they arrived, to accommodate Claudia’s earlier than usual bedtime. As much as she knew she wouldn’t be drinking, she didn’t mind being the one in charge of the drinks. The captain liked being able to watch over everyone and make sure everyone was being safe, not like she had to worry much being in your shared apartment rather than a rowdy nightclub.
As expected, more teammates started to arrive soon after dinner. First it was Lucy and Ona, followed closely by Aitana, Kiera, and Mariona. Every time another teammate walked it, Claudia looked just as surprised as she had the last time. She would always follow the surprise by confusion, and then immediately look to you in thanks. It had not been long before most of the team had arrived, turning your apartment into a mini-nightclub. There were strobe lights going in your living room, drinks were flowing, and music was blasting (all from a playlist of Claudia’s favorites, of course).
It was clear how much your girlfriend was enjoying this when you walked into your living room and saw her on Lucy’s back, as the older girl jumped around with her. Again, you let her have her space, enjoying watching how she was having the most fun she’d had all week. Her energy was back, and she was enjoying one of her favorite ways to let loose and relax. Both of you had had a couple drinks but were far from drunk. You each needed to relax a bit while still being somewhat careful of your broken girlfriend. Everytime you spotted Claudia, she seemed to be on someone else’s back, yelling directions in their ear on where she wanted them to take her.
Eventually, you had been distracted, dancing with Kiera and Aitana, enjoying some time with your own friends, when Patri made her way to you. Claudia was on her back of course, very giggly, and reaching out for you. “(Y/n/n)! Will you hold me? I haven’t seen you all night!” She fake pouted at you while Patri carefully switched her to your back. “I missed you!!” she peppered the side of your face with kisses as she basically yelled to be heard.
“Come find me if your back needs a break from her! I’ll be in the kitchen!” you nodded to Patri appreciatively, thankful for how she was supporting you as well as her best friend.
Claudia wrapped her arms around your neck tightly, giving you a tight hug from her spot on your back. “Thank you, mi amor. I think I really needed this.”
You only responded by turning your head, giving her lips a quick kiss, “Anything for you, Claudia. Always.”
 The two of you continued to dance, as well as you could with her on your back, until Alexia started to send people home. As much as everyone could’ve gone longer, Claudia could not. Normally she’d be the first to be out all night, but after being on the couch all week, this small amount of action really exhausted her. The two of you thanked everyone for coming as the small crowd slowly dissipated. Eventually you were left with the group of six of you that had eaten dinner together. The group cleaned up the place, returning it from being ‘nightclub’ to being your home again. Neither you nor Claudia could thank them enough. They had been lifesavers for you. Helping arrange this entire thing just to help make your girlfriend feel better. It was exactly what Claudia needed too. She thrived on socialization and valued her friends more than anything. This was her way of relaxing and she was finally able to do it.
Once everything had left, it was just the two of you, and a peaceful silence. You carried her into your bedroom, bridal style, and laid her gently on your bed, similar to how you had done it earlier in the day. You changed both of you into something more comfortable to sleep in, a big t-shirt with just underwear on the bottom. It was clear she was tired when there were no suggestive comments at you changing her clothes. You both got ready for bed, exhausted from the excitement. Immediately Claudia curled into your side, like she often did now. “Bebita,  I don’t deserve you,” she spoke quietly, tired yet still awake.
“Yes you do, I promise,” it was all you could respond because it was true. You knew that if the roles were reversed, she would do the exact same thing.
“I don’t know how you can put up with me after I shut you out a few days ago. I can’t believe you did all this for me after I acted like that.”
Your heart broke once again, hearing how the love of your life didn’t think she deserved you. “Claudia, I love you. Always. Even if you try to push me away. It doesn’t change how I feel about you. I’m still gonna do whatever I can to help you and right now, that means throwing you a party.”
“Mi amor, I truly cannot thank you enough. You made today a lot less depressing. I love you.” She somehow managed to snuggle into you even deeper than before, although you didn’t mind one bit. You appreciated the closeness and affection she was unable to show you earlier in the week.
“I love you, Claudia. Always.” you gave her a tight squeeze in return, trying to force her to feel you love.
As tired as you both were, Claudia couldn’t quite suppress the energy she had gotten from being with her friends all night. You knew her well enough to know she’d be talking about it some as you both drifted off to sleep. “Did you hear about how Mapi wants a motorcycle?” she giggled to herself, knowing you were already half asleep. “I think Ingrid actually would kill her. She looked like she might just from talking about it today.” Your girlfriend continued to chat, mostly to herself, “I could see that though and…” She drifted into sleep shortly after you, her bubbly words turning to incoherent mumbling before coming to a stop as the two of you slept deeply in each other's arms. You both were filled with more love for each other than ever before, knowing you would go to the ends of the earth to make each other happy.
clàudia pina x reader fluff (670 words)
summary: clàudia is frustrated that you arent spending time with her while you are busy with work.
Note: this was a request! Sorry its kinda short, still cute tho (i think) and i hope u like itt ❤️
--
you chewed on the end of your pen. one hand in your hair and the other harshly gripping the plastic. you stared at your laptop screen, reading through the never-ending notes you had taken earlier of your last match. in the book below you, you wrote new plays, techniques or formations that could be used in the next barca game. specifically you wrote, in full detail, about all the areas you could improve on.
you stretched backwards in your chair before turning around to glance at your apartment door, which was now being opened. hearing clàudias voice you relaxed and looked back to your screen.
"im home, cariñooo!!"
"hey." you replied flatly, now focused on scribbling words into your notebook. clàudia's lips pressed together in dissapointment. you had been on your own ass about studying games recently and left no time for you to relax, not even with her! your girlfriend!!
"baby, you're still studying? i thought you were done with this game yesterday?" she asked, putting her bag down and walking towards you to wrap her arms around your neck.
you yawned, resting your head back onto her shoulder.
"yea i thought i was, but theres some stuff i missed."
"okay cariño, pero..." you hummed in response and she kissed your cheek a few times before sitting down in the chair next to you. she took the front leg of your chair and span you around to face her, then placing her hand on your thigh, a glimmer of hope and excitement in her eyes.
"mapi invited us out today, for drinks! i reallllyyy want you to come baby. we haven't been out together in so long." you bit your cheek at her words, trying to remember the last time you went out with her, but you couldn't. you hesitated to speak, rubbing your head with guilt. "i know, clàu. im sorry, i just really want the next game to be perfect." you didn't look at her, feeling her frustrated eyes on you as you finished your sentence. she removed her hand from your thigh and stood up, letting out a long, exhasperated sigh.
she looked at you "i understand." and started walking towards your bedroom, "clàu im sor-" you were interrupted, clàudia shutting the bedroom door behind her. your head dropped to the floor, feeling guilt build up inside of you after hearing her voice clearly saddened. you heard the shower turn on and spun your chair back to your computer, continuing to write your notes.
when clàudia came out of the shower, basic shirt and boxers on and a towel wrapped around her neck, you were still working. you looked up and offered a smile which she returned in a bored manner. the guilt was really eating you up now, so you started to pack away your things, noticing clàudia glance at you from the kitchen as she filled a glass of water. you put your stuff away and started to walk up to her, but she picked up her phone and faced her back towards you. what a baby. you grabbed her waist from behind and perched your head on her shoulder.
"clàu?" you said, no response.
"babyy please." again no response.
an idea entered your mind, and your hands went up her shirt to trace her abs. you teasingly started to kiss her neck, and when you felt her smile you brought your hands together around her.
you spoke again, "im sorry that i haven't been spending time with you baby. ive been busy with this shit, i just want things to be perfect." she didn't respond, but put her phone down to continue listening.
"let's go out today, amor. i'm done with this studying, i realized how much i missed being with you." you said, taking your arms out of her shirt and turning her body to face you. she beamed at you with her smile, asking "really!?" and draping her arms around your neck to kiss you when you nodded yes.
when she pulled away she spoke again, "finally, cariño. i've missed you too."
angst, fluff, injury / injury recovery. claudia pina x reader.
R suffers and injury during a game, and struggles in the aftermath to accept help from Claudia.
You knew it was bad the moment you went down; if the pain wasn't enough of an indicator, the crack you heard definitely was. The game had been going well; a champions league group stage game against Benfica at home in Barcelona, that your team was leading by several goals. You might have been about to score again, having just nutmegged a defender. You had one defender left to beat, streaking towards the goal, when she decided to foul you. Instead of just tripping you up, though, she threw a foot out, stomping down on the inside of your ankle, sending it bending the complete wrong way.
You fell hard onto the ground, immediately rolling up into a little ball on your side, grasping at your ankle. You let out a cry of pain that could be heard across the field, and much to your dismay, you could feel tears pricking your eyelids. You kept your face pressed into the grass, it poking harshly against your skin, even as you felt a hand on your back, trying to roll you over.
"Come on chica, let me see," Patri spoke softly, her hand patting your back lightly to prompt you to move. Fighting back a sob, you shook your head into the grass, a few tears escaping.
You'd never felt pain like this before. You played a professional sport, and you were a pretty aggressive player too, not a stranger to injuries. The pain radiating from your ankle was mind numbing, sharp and hot, throbbing under where your hands wrapped tight around it.
A new voice spoke, firmer than Patri's: "Si, y/n, vamos," and Mapi's hands pulled your shoulder, forcing you onto your back. Your eyes were still squeezed shut, and you let out another whimper of pain at the slight movement . Your senses were slowly returning to you as you got used to the pain, and you could hear loud voices arguing with the ref. Cracking your eyes open, you saw Mapi and Patri leaning over you, both looking concerned.
"What hurts? Do you need the physios?" Mapi questioned, and you could only nod your head, looking up at her through tear-blurred vision. Taking a deep breath, you answered her first question.
"Ankle. It's bad," was all you could get out before you clenched your jaw back together, another wave of pain washing over you. Mapi motioned to the sidelines, calling for the physios, before she turned her attention back to you, grabbing one of your hands and holding tightly.
"How bad?" she asked. You opened your mouth to try to speak, but a sob came out before you could stop it, and suddenly you were crying. "Okay, okay, you're alright, everything is gonna be fine." Mapi's voice was soft, and you could hear worry bleeding into her tone. You never cried, and you never stayed down long after a tackle, even if it hurt. For you to still be on the ground, openly crying, and asking for the physios, it was clear that your injury was bad.
You brought a hand up to cover your eyes, trying to maintain some semblance of dignity. You tried to control your tears as the physios arrived, taking Mapi's place by your side, forcing you to answer their questions. When they called for the heinous orange stretcher, you felt yourself dissolve into another wave of emotion; not being able to walk off the field meant that this was as bad as it felt, as bad as you thought it would be. As they moved you onto the stretcher, every worst case scenario was flashing across your brain; crutches, months away from the game, surgery, each thought worse than the last.
The medical team lifted you into the air, and you tried to muster a smile to your teammates as they patted your arms while you were walked by them. The stretcher came to a halt, though, before you reached the sidelines, and Alexia's face came into view, her brow furrowed with worry. She must have been able to tell what you were thinking, because she pressed a gentle kiss to your forehead, and paired it with a "don't spiral; whatever it is, we've got you." The words of your captain did not really do much to make you feel better, but you appreciated the effort.
You were walked back into the facility, a flurry of activity following you. You felt your mind shut down as the medics worked around you, manipulating your ankle and asking questions. The feelings bubbling up inside of you were too much, so you pushed them down, instead focusing on the pain in your ankle. You were whisked off for an x-ray, which would be the real test as to how bad it was.
-----
You lay with your eyes shut on the exam table, the room empty. 2 and a half months. Maybe 3. The words the doctor had spoken were rattling around inside your brain, and you willed yourself to feel nothing, to be strong. You heard the door open, and someone slip in, and you knew who it would be before you opened your eyes; the one person guaranteed to ruin your perfectly crafted mask of stability, and at the same time, the person whose presence you craved more than anything.
A hand came to lightly cup your cheek, and you opened your eyes to see your favorite striker looking down at you, her usual dimples absent from her face, replaced with a frown of concern.
"Hi, hermosa. How are you feeling?" Claudia questioned, voice dripping with care.
"Hurts." Your response came out choked, and you felt a tear slip down your cheek. Claudia carefully wiped it away, still looking into your eyes, as if she could take your pain away if she only knew the extent of it.
"I'm sorry, amor. Let's get you home, yeah?" You nodded, and allowed her to help you sit up. She helped you strap the boot onto your foot, and she chuckled lightly when you glared at the crutches, instead of taking them from her outstretched hands.
"You want me to ask Ingrid if she'll carry you?" Claudia teased, knowing you would rather crawl to the car than ask someone to carry you. You sighed, taking the crutches from her and standing, already hating the feeling of being so off balance. Claudia pressed a light kiss to your lips, before grabbing both of your bags, which you hadn't noticed her come in with. You headed to the car, and you quietly thanked her for grabbing your stuff, appreciating that she knew you wouldn't want to face the team right now.
You moved slowly, the standing position forcing blood to rush into your foot, and you winced in pain at every movement. Claudia patiently kept pace with you, opening the car door and helping you slide in. She put the crutches in the back, and made sure you were comfortable before climbing into the drivers seat. It was a fairly practiced routine; Claudia had spent a lot of time in a boot and on crutches last season, and now the roles were reversed.
As she drove, she reached over, grabbing one of your hands in hers, and brought it to her lips, pressing a kiss to the back of it. You smiled weakly at her, and she squeezed your hand, keeping a hold of it in her lap. You settled in for the drive, focusing on taking deep breaths. You stared out the window at the pink-orange sunset, and actively worked to shove every single feeling you had down, locking your emotions into a little box. By the time you arrived home with Claudia, you felt numb, completely shut off from your feelings. You knew she could tell, and you knew she was actively trying to think of ways to bring you out of this shell, get you to be vulnerable.
You'd always struggled with showing your emotions, and allowing yourself to properly feel them. It had taken months before you allowed yourself to admit you liked Claudia, and several more months before you let her see you in any state that wasn't happy. Whenever something bad happened, she was forced to watch you retreat back into yourself, your first instinct to hide away any weakness. She hated it, but she knew you were just trying to protect yourself, and she had promised herself a long time ago to never let you push her away.
-----
It had been two weeks, and Claudia was practically bouncing off the walls in frustration. Two weeks of you resisting her help, of answering all her questions with one word answers. Two weeks since she'd since anything but a blank, straight face on you. She knew you were hurting; just like any player, you hated being injured and being forced to sit out. More than that, though, you really struggled with feeling useless. You couldn't DO anything, your broken ankle putting you on crutches for weeks. It was impossible to get around, to do most tasks without help, and you hated, hated, that Claudia had to take care of you. Of course, she didn't care, but her efforts to convince you of this had failed, and she could tell that you spent every waking moment trying to figure out how to be as little trouble as possible.
Claudia noticed the way you leaned into her every touch, even when you told her you could do something by yourself, and the way your hand would reach out to grab hers almost desperately in your sleep, as if afraid she would disappear . The only time Claudia had seen you consciously act like yourself, though, was when she had a nightmare, waking you up with her squirming. You had woken her up, pulling her into your arms and cradling her gently, wiping away her tears and soothing her back to sleep. The next morning, you had asked her if she was okay, and when she said that she was, you had gone back to acting like an emotionless robot.
She'd talked to some of your older teammates, and they'd stopped by, trying to get you to open up. All of them had failed; Lucy and Mapi with jokes, almost doing a standup routine in your living room, before blindsiding you with questions of how you were feeling, really. Ingrid with her sweet, comforting words, trying to melt your frosty exterior with kindess. Even Alexia and Irene's joint tough love approach hadn't worked. They'd all given up and left, but not before making you promise to reach out to them, day or night, if you needed anything.
Claudia was at a loss- she'd truly never seen you like this before, and she was going crazy worrying about you. You should have known, really, that it would only be a matter of time before she snapped.
-----
You were trying to get up off the couch, and get a snack from the kitchen when the tension between the two of you came to a head.
"What do you need? I can grab it for you." Her voice came from the doorway, having heard your clumsy movements.
"I got it," you replied, just as your crutch caught on the edge of the carpet, almost sending you tumbling forward. You caught yourself just in time, as Claudia lurched across the room to help steady you.
"Bebe, just tell me what you need, I'll grab it," she was almost begging at this point, and she could see you getting annoyed.
"I said I got it, Claudia," your tone was harsh, and Claudia felt all sense of restraint leave her body.
"Well, excuse me for trying to help, it seemed like you just almost face planted onto our carpet."
"Jesus, I don't need you hovering over me all the time, I'm FINE." You were almost shouting now, glaring at Claudia. You knew you were being unreasonable, but suddenly you were filled to the brim with anger and annoyance, and it had to go somewhere. Unfortunately, your sweet girlfriend seemed like the only option.
She shouted back. "Fine? You're fine? Fine is completely shutting down and refusing to talk about what you're going through? Fine is pushing yourself so hard on your physical therapy exercises that they had to tell you to take a break before you did more damage? Fine is treating me like you hate me any time I try to help you? Y/n, you are clearly not fine, and I am losing my mind trying to get you to admit it, it's infuriating."
Your reaction to her words was as if she'd hit you, and she realized her mistake a second too late. Your biggest fear was being a burden to her, and she'd just made it sound like you were exactly that. She took in your appearance, your messy ponytail, baggy sweatshirt and sweatpants, and the dark circles under your eyes. Your expression made her heart hurt, one of fear and hurt. She was still angry, though, and she knew if she didn't stop this fight right here, you would lash out at her, and she would do the same.
"Alright, I need some air. I'm gonna go for a drive, maybe stop by Patri's for a bit, and we can talk when I get back," she turned away from you, grabbing her keys, and walking to the door before pausing, and facing you again. You were standing stock still, supported by your crutches, staring at the ground. "Please stay downstairs, and if you need something or something happens, call me. Please." You nodded, in response, avoiding eye contact, and she left the house, closing the door tightly behind her.
You stood in the same spot for a couple minutes, mind racing through the past couple weeks. You hadn't meant to be so distant and cold; you felt so guilty for needing her help with everything, you didn't want to make her deal with you emotions too. More than that, you didn't want to deal with how upset you were; you worried that if you let yourself feel it, it would swallow you whole.
Claudia was the most important thing to you though; more than football, more than anything. You'd give it all up for her, without a second thought. So, you promised yourself you'd try to do better, try to let her in more.
You still wanted a snack, so you headed into the kitchen. You went to open the fridge, but you'd positioned your crutches in the wrong spot, and the fridge door swung open, knocking one of the crutches out from under you. Off balance, you grabbed for the counter, but missed, your other crutch shooting out from it's spot next to you, and you tipped sideways, landing hard on your boot, before ending up sprawled on your back.
You groaned in pain, pounding your fist on the floor in frustration after a minute. Sitting up, you tried to take stock of your injury- it ached, but not to the extent that you were worried you'd made the break worse. You scooted back against the cabinets, and reached for your crutches, before realizing one of them had snapped during the fall. You hand't even know that was possible. You looked around for anything else to help you get off the cold hardwood floors, and found nothing. The counters were too high, one crutch wasn't enough. You were stuck.
Your foot hurt, you were hungry, you couldn't get up, and you just wanted Claudia. Tears welled up in your eyes again, and you didn't know if it was from pain, frustration, or if everything was finally just catching up to you. Taking a deep breath and forcing yourself to think logically, you tried to decide who to call. You knew Claudia had told you to call her, but you couldn't help but think that she deserved a break, and she'd much rather hang out with Patri than come pick you up off the floor.
You were left to decide between Ingrid and Mapi, and Alexia; you knew any of them would drop everything to come help. Although Alexia was fully capable of helping you, and she lived closer than the other girls, you knew she'd call Claudia, and probably drag you off to a doctor to get your ankle checked again. So, with a shaky hand, and the thought that you were incredibly glad you'd had your phone in your pocket, you dialed Mapi's number.
"Hola nena, what's up?" You noted a hint of concern already present in her voice, and you knew it was because you calling her on the phone was not a normal occurrence. You'd text, or facetime, but never call.
"Um... are you and Ingrid around?" You tried to keep your voice steady, but you don't think it worked.
"Si, we're just at home. Why, what's wrong?"
"I um. Fell in the kitchen. And one of my crutches broke, and I can't get up. And Claudia is out and I don't want to bother her. Could you guys come and help me?" You felt your insides twist in embarrassment ; you hated this, hated it more than anything.
"Shit, of course. Are you okay?" She sounded frantic suddenly, and you hated that you'd worried her.
"Yeah, my ankle hurts a bit from how I landed, but I'm fine."
"Good. We're on our way, just hang tight until we get there, vale?" Mapi sounded reassuring, and you let her words wash over you, trying to relax.
"Si, thank you Mapi." Your voice was thick, and you felt yourself losing your tight grip on your mask of stability. You willed yourself to hold it together for a little longer, just until Claudia got home.
Your friends must have broken several traffic laws because they were at your house within 10 minutes when it normally takes 20. They came bursting through the door, rushing into the kitchen. They came to a stop at the sight of you, taking in your dejected form sitting on the ground. Your crutches lay next to you, one broken, and you looked up at them pathetically, eyes glossy.
"Oh, honey," Ingrid cooed, before walking forward and gathering you into her arms. They'd never really seen you like this before; it was clear you were growing more and more emotional with every passing second. This was emphasized by the way you curled into Ingrid as she carried you to the couch. She set you down, and you buried your face in your hands, trying to take slow, deep breaths, and stave off the breakdown you felt coming.
Ingrid sat next to you, rubbing circles onto your back, as Mapi crouched in front of you, taking off your boot gently, and inspecting your ankle.
"It looks okay. If it feels worse or different tomorrow, you should go in, but I think you're fine for now," she stated confidently .
You wanted to make a joke and ask her where she got her medical license from, but when you opened your mouth to speak, the only thing that came out was a choked sound, before you dissolved into loud, pained sobs. The couple looked alarmed at the strength of your cries, but not really surprised at the appearance of them. Their immediate instinct was to let you cry it out, but it quickly became clear that you were only growing more and more upset, your cries becoming louder, and your breaths falling shorter and faster.
They tried to calm you down, but nothing seemed to work. Ingrid wrapped her arms around you, holding you tightly against her, while Mapi gently stroked her thumb up and down where her hands sat on your knees. They took turns talking to you, trying to guide your breaths, and get you to relax, but none of it seemed to help. You brought your hands to your chest, really hyperventilating now, trying in vain to slow your breathing down. You didn't know what was wrong with you; you were filled with anxiety and anguish and you couldn't, for the life of you, pull yourself together and stop crying.
"Cariño, what can we do," Mapi asked rather desperately.
You wracked your brain for something that would make you feel better, and your mind could only come up with one thing.
"Claudia. Please," you managed to gasp out, and Mapi was whipping her phone out, speaking rapidly to Claudia on the other end. You were only getting more and more panicked, resting your head against the Norwegians chest, trying to focus on her heartbeat. You closed your eyes tightly, only opening them when you felt yourself being pulled out of Ingrid's arms and into another set.
Opening your eyes, you saw Claudia looking down at you, anxiety written clearly across her face. More time must have passed than you thought, and if you hadn't still been so panicked, you would have wondered if you'd passed out. You collapsed against her in relief, and she pulled you to lay against her chest, propping herself up against the arm of the couch. You rested between her legs, ear pressed over her chest, as she wrapped her arms around you, bring one up to tug your ponytail out and lightly run her fingers through your hair.
It took a while, but the sound of her heartbeat, the comforting motions of her hands, and the smell of her laundry detergent and perfume, invading your senses from where your nose pressed against her sweatshirt, all managed to calm you down. Your tears came to a slow stop, save for the occasional sniffle, and your breathing returned to normal. You realized Claudia was talking quietly to you then, and you tried to focus on her words.
"-got you. I'm right here, you're gonna be okay. I love you. So much. You're gonna be just fine." Her voice was soothing, and you felt the last of the tension leave your body. You were content to just lay there, surrounded by Claudia, but after a couple more minutes, she nudged you and sat up, keeping both of her hands on you, not willing to let you go.
"How are you feeling, amor? That was pretty intense." She spoke quietly, and you appreciated it.
Clearing your throat, you responded, allowing yourself to be honest for the first time in a while. There was no reason to pretend to be fine anymore- it was abundantly clear that you weren't.
"Tired. Better, I think though? Especially now that you're here." Your response was shaky, and she leaned in closer to you, pressing her side up against yours. It was only then that you noticed that Ingrid and Mapi were gone. You made a mental note to thank them, profusely, later.
"Good. I'm glad you feel better," she paused. "I'm sorry I yelled earlier. It's just really hard for me to see you like this, completely shut off from everything."
"I know, I'm sorry I yelled in the first place. I haven't been handling this very well," she scoffed at that, and you managed a smile. "I know that how I've been handling it isn't healthy, and I'm gonna try to do better." You made eye contact with her as you spoke, and you could tell she was hopeful that you were being genuine.
"I love you. You aren't ever a bother, or a burden. Taking care of you is something I am happy to do, always." She sounded so earnest, so eager for you to believe her, that you didn't really have any other choice. "I know it's really hard for you to accept help, but I'm not going anywhere, so you're gonna have to get used to it." You smiled then, a real smile, pulled her into a hug.
"Thank you, I love you. Te quiero mucho." She pressed several kisses to the side of your head in response before pulling back.
"Nap?" She asked, taking in the way your eyelids drooped, and the way you sagged against her.
"Si, por favor," you responded, and without another word, she pulled you back into her arms, nestled against her chest. She tugged the blanket folded over the back of the couch down on top of the both of you, and you snuggled into her, letting out a sigh of contentment. You were already falling asleep, and Claudia was finally relaxed, truly believing that you were going to be better about letting her in.
Can I request prompt number 4 with Claudia Pina! ❤️ love your work!!
Oblivious to Flirting
Pina x reader
warnings: kiss
summary: you go on a date with Claudia without realizing it was a date.
~~~
You had a terrible track record with love. At 21 you hah had three serious relationships and all of them had failed horribly. The most recent one you got cheated on by someone who will not be named on your previous team, Arsenal. After this happened you decided to change teams and Barcelona jumped at the opportunity to have you.
Spain was a huge adjustment for year learning a new language, new customs and culture and having all new teammates. You got along really well with all of them, although Mapi was your favorite. She took you under her wing and helped you adjust to your new life as best as she could. One thing that was very new for you was all the affection you received.
Back in England your teammates hugged you and once in a while you would cuddle into Leah’s side during a movie night, but not here. Your teammates hugged you constantly, you were always getting kissed on the cheek, someone was always pulling you to sit on their lap, and so on. You weren’t opposed to the affection it was all just very new to you and your teammates loved how awkward you were when you received, especially Pina who was always teasing you.
Pina had always shown you slightly more affection than the other Spaniards, but you didn’t think anything of it. You were close in age and had similar joking personalities, so you figured she was just being a good friend to you. What you didn’t know was the Claudia was constantly trying to show you that she liked you. She would leave more lingering kisses, hug you for longer and always have a hand on your back or arm. She continued giving you more and more affection and more and more compliments, but you were not getting the hint. Especially after your last ex, you didn’t think anybody could really love you and want to be with you, especially someone as perfect as Claudia.
Today was a hot spring day and you had arrived to the training grounds at the same time as a couple of your teammates.
“Hola amor, did you sleep good last night?” Claudia asked while coming over and wrapping an arm around your shoulder and kissing your check for far longer than what was friendly. You didn’t see Alexia smirking at the interaction behind you.
“Good thank you. How about you?” You asked her back blushing slightly at her question to you.
“Good but I’m a lot better now that I’m with you cariño.” You continued to blush loving both the nickname and her adorable accent when she spoke English to you.
You both continued to walk into the training facility, her arm guiding your lower back now.
~~~
During a water break from a drill Pina jogged over to you handing you a bottle of your favorite sports drink. You thanked her before chugging it.
"That was an amazing cross cariño, we make an amazing pair. I'm really glad we get to play on the same team." You blushed at the compliment.
"Thanks, your header was really good too, Paños didn't stand a chance." Before Pina could keep flirting with you though, Ale called them all together for the next drill.
~~~
"You played amazing out there cariño." Pina said as she slipped into her cubby right next to yours.
"You did great too." You said as you beamed at her.
"Do you want to go out with me later. There is a new sushi place Patri and her girlfriend went to that they said was amazing." Pina thought that it was clear that she was asking you out on a date, but you had no idea thinking she just wanted to try the new sushi place and wanted to hang out with you.
"Sure that sounds amazing I have been craving sushi all day."
"Ok, I'll pick you up at 8 cariño."
"What should I wear?"
"Whatever you like, you look beautiful in anything, but I think the place is more casual," she responded.
"Ok, I'll be ready." You replied.
~~~
Claudia picked you up right at 8 and opened the car door for you.
"I'm so excited for tonight I can't wait to spend time with just you," Claudia said as she pulled away from your apartment.
The car ride was filled with comfortable small talk. Claudia had been complimenting you all night, but you just thought she was in a nice mood and excited for the sushi.
When you got to the restaurant, Pina opened the door again for you. Inside the restaurant you sat at a nice secluded table towards the back.
As you settled into your seats at the secluded table, the soft ambiance of the restaurant enveloped you, adding to the air of anticipation already swirling between you and Claudia. The flickering candlelight cast a warm glow over the intimate setting, enhancing the sense of intimacy between you.
"Wow, this place is amazing," you remarked, taking in the elegant decor with a sense of appreciation.
Claudia smiled warmly, her gaze lingering on you as she reached across the table to gently brush her fingers against yours. "I'm glad you like it. But honestly, it doesn't compare to how amazing you look tonight."
Blushing at her compliment, you couldn't help but feel a flutter of excitement in your chest. Claudia's affectionate gestures were not lost on you, but you still struggled to interpret them as anything more than friendly gestures.
Throughout the evening, the conversation flowed effortlessly between you, punctuated by shared laughter and lingering glances.
As Claudia was taking her last bit of sushi she said to you with a bright smile on her face, "this was an amazing date, hopefully you will let me take you out on a second one."
You were shocked to say the least. "This was a date?" you asked not knowing what else to say.
Claudia misinterrpreted this as you not wanting to be a date and not liking her. "Uh... it was supposed to be. I asked you out and you said yes. I'm really sorry if I took this the wrong way and if you don't like me like that."
"No no no, I am really happy that this was a date, I just didn't realize you had asked me out. I thought you were just being friendly and wanted some company to try this restaurant since Patri was busy tonight. I do like you a lot Claudia."
Claudia's eyes widened in surprise, a mixture of relief and disbelief washing over her features. "You do?"
You nodded earnestly, a warmth spreading through your chest as you met her gaze. "Yeah, I do. I mean, I've always enjoyed spending time with you, but I guess I never realized... I never realized you felt the same way."
A radiant smile lit up Claudia's face, her eyes sparkling with newfound hope and happiness. "I've been trying to show you for so long, but I guess I wasn't being as obvious as I thought."
You chuckled sheepishly, feeling a wave of regret for your obliviousness. "Yeah, I guess I'm not the most perceptive when it comes to these things."
"Well, I'm just glad we cleared that up," Claudia said, reaching across the table to take your hand in hers. "And for the record, I really do like you. A lot."
You returned her smile, squeezing her hand affectionately. "I'm glad too. And for what it's worth, I think this has been the best date I've been on in a long time."
"Really?" Claudia's eyes sparkled with delight. "Well, in that case, I'll have to make sure the second date is even better."
As the evening wore on, you found yourself lost in conversation with Claudia, each moment filled with laughter, shared stories, and newfound affection. With every smile and every touch, you felt your connection with her deepening, blossoming into something beautiful and promising.
And as you leaned in to steal a soft, lingering kiss, the rest of the world faded away, leaving only the warmth of Claudia's lips against yours and the promise of a future filled with love and possibility.
Don't get sad, get even.
Part 2/? - previous - next
Patri x reader, Claudia x reader.
Tumblr media
And then monday came. You were all getting ready to go out for training, when Patri came into the locker room. You had never seen her so pissed. You and Clau only shared a look and moved outside.
It was weird. For everyone. This had never happened before. The team divided into two groups to play against each other, after doing gym work and solo drills.
You and Piña were in one team and Patri on another.
Everyone was so confused, but no one dared to ask about it.
Mainly because you and Clau seemed totally fine. But Patri was a different story. She looked like a bull ready to charge at her target.
And she did.
She was competitive, the whole team knew. But that wasn't what she was going in for today.
She didn't care about winning.
She cared about letting out her anger.
The first 10 minutes were fine. Until Patri got a chance to foul Claudia. Pushing her to the ground.
"What the hell, Guijarro" - Said Alexia, who was captain of your group. - "You're a midfielder not a defender. There was no need for that! Chill out."
You looked over at Piña to make sure she was okay, as she nodded at you.
But you couldn't make past another 20 minutes before she did it again. But this time she went in hard. She didn't even aim for the ball, she went straight for Clau's legs.
And she let out a hiss in pain.
You were boiling at this point.
"Are you fucking serious right now?" - you screamed running to check on your friend.
"Oh look who it is!" - You could feel the venom in her words. But before you could say anything Claudia was quick on her feet.
"Shut up!" - She yelled as she pushed Patri's chest - "You've been acting like a baby throwing a tantrum all day!"
"Hey! Hey, cut it out both of you!" - Paredes said raising her voice to try and separate them.
By then coach was already coming in to intervene.
"You two, my office. Now." - Patri followed Piña in with an incredulous face.
"What's going on with the three of you? And don't lie!"
"Ale can we please talk about this later? Please?"
"Fine. But your not running from me."
But you kind of did. Once the game was over, you ran straight to Giráldez's office.
They weren't there so you guessed the scolding was over.
But when you walked in the locker room, there was the two of them, being scolded by Ale, Irene and Mario.
Since they were too busy to notice you, you went straight to shower.
When you came out, they were all doing their own thing.
"Y/N!"
You slowly turned on your heels. Like a child who was caught doing something they shouldn't.
"Can I at least put on my clothes?" - wearing nothing but the towel.
"Not this time."
"We just had a fight. Just best friends' things."
"I don't believe you. I've never seen them go at each other like that!"
"Ale, we just had a disagreement and Patri was angry Piña sided with me."
"I still don't believe you. But you three better sort this out quick." - Leaving to go to shower.
You changed quickly and went to talk to Clau.
"So?"
"We're suspended for the next game."
"Unbelievable."
You guys definitely needed to have a talk.
Tumblr media
I know most of you want a Piña happy ending. But what would that look like for you guys? I'd love to know. I'm still deciding where to go with this one.
Note
The world needs more Claudia Pina content so I’m requesting literally anything for her. Maybe like she gets hurt in a game or something and ends up super pissy about not being able to go out and do stuff and see everyone at trainings and stuff so reader realizes that and has to comfort her.
warnings: grumpy claudia, injury
------
the moment claudia went down i was the first one there.
it just happened to be the el clásico, the biggest women’s game in the spanish league. barcelona were winning 4-1 in the 80th minute, but not even five minutes later, everything went crashing down.
it was a corner conceded by real madrid, which mapi stepped up to take. we were all huddled around the net, some pushing and shoving to fight for the ball. when mapi kicked it, it curved perfectly, almost going straight into the net. it just needed the tiniest touch to send it in.
claudia was the one who made that header and scored the goal, but just as her head had made contact with the ball, someone else had crashed into her, causing her to fall sideways. her left knee was the one that copped the brunt of the fall, being whacked against the goal post and the hard ground at the same time.
her scream was enough to stop everything, and i whipped around to see her on the floor clutching her leg.
she was sobbing, tears flowing freely down her face, which was not a normal thing for claudia. the medics instantly rushing onto the field, barley waiting for the referee to call them. they rolled her over gently, careful not to jostle her leg too much. i was kneeling by her head, refusing to leave until i knew what was wrong.
the medics did a quick assessment to see whether she needed to come off, but it was a no-brainer at that point. she could barley move her left leg, let alone walk off the field, so the medics brought on a stretcher and placed her on it gently. she was escorted off the field and disappeared down the tunnel.
it hurt to see her go like that but i had to see out the game, for her.
the second that final whistle was blown, i was gone. running off the field and through the tunnel to find where they’d taken claudia. it didn’t take me long, there was only one medics room.
i opened the door and poked my head inside to see claudia on the bed, a brace on her knee.
“oh, mi bebe.” (my baby.) i walked into the room to stand beside claudia. she was clearly very upset at being injured yet again, after having just come back into the starting squad.
claudia didn’t say anything but i knew what she was thinking, what was going on inside her head. it was a terrible way to go down, and in el clásico of all matches.
three weeks after that match, and claudia was already up and walking around. it was more of a hobbling really, but if claudia heard you say that you wouldn’t live to see another day.
the first week or two was spent with claudia on bed rest, and by the third week i had given up on trying to get her to stay there.
“claudia!
please come and sit down!”
there was a grumble and some sounds of movement from the apartment before claudia hobbled into the living room and plopped down on the couch.
“you have to rest, claud. otherwise you won’t heal.”
“i don’t want to rest!
i’m stuck here, just waiting for you to come back from wherever you go. training, team bondings, hanging out. i’m stuck here, on bed rest, until you come home to help me with everything.
i’m getting lonely.”
there was a silence that hung in the room after claudia’s admission, it was almost a guilty silence. i felt bad for not noticing sooner, for doing something sooner.
“i’m so sorry claudia, i didn’t know. i promise i didn’t try to exclude you on purpose, i just had no idea that this was what you were feeling.”
i gave the girl a hug, claudia melting into my embrace almost immediately.
we sat there for a while, just enjoying each other’s company. i rubbed my hand up and down claudia’s back, attempting to soothe her.
“i promise i won’t leave you out again, mi bebe.” (my baby.)
