These are the first ever figurines of two of the many draekons of Dimension 39-B Blacklite Lands, yes I AKNOLAGE that they are not my best work but please you have to understand that I am kinda a beginner clay sculpter, even though I played with oil based clay at age 7 in 2014 or 2015, I hope you like the sculptures I made if not then give any criticism you may, BUT NO NEGATIVE ENERGY PLEASE thank you. 🌈🌀💙

College AU

Hob was sitting in his Speech Class bouncing his leg. They were going to deliver their big speeches today on why they were artists. Hob didn’t like looking at the guy across from him directly, he just had a dark broody aura about him. The guy dressed head to toe in black, had eyeliner dripping down his cheeks and black messy hair. Hob never talked to him really all he knew was that his name was Dream. Hob hated listening to the speeches, then Dream is called up. He talks about how art should be dark and uncomfortable, how being comfortable all the time is stupid especially in art. The direct antithesis to Hob’s which was about how art can bring hope and light to a cruel world. Hob can feel Dream glaring at him when he gives his own speech.

After class Hob is suddenly shoved and pinned against the wall.

“How dare you!”

It’s dream, he’s tiny but his grip is strong.

“You undercut everything in my speech you stupid jock! How am I supposed to be taken seriously? Art shouldn’t be turned away from the world it should reflect it!”

“Can you let go of me?”

Dream lets him go. Hob brushes himself off.

“Art should reflect the world, the world is beautiful”

Dream looks incensed.

“How could you say such a thing?”

Hob motions for Dream to follow him.

Hob takes the long walk back to the dorm full of parks and natural beauty.

“This is my walk home everyday, isn’t it lovely?”

“It would be more efficient to take the bus,” dream grumbles.

“Sure, but I’d miss out on all of this,”

He motions to the luscious greenery around them.

“I had a dream like this once” Dream muses.

“I wanna show you art the way I see it, you wanna go back to my dorm and watch a tv show?”

Dream looked reluctant.

“I don’t want sex”

“Wasn’t on the table” Hob responses quickly.

Dream looked confused. “You really just want to watch tv?”

“I mean yeah?”

“My apologies I’m just so used to guys just wanting me for-“

Hob stops him. “No need to explain love, cmon”

Hob’s dorm is colorful. It’s mesmerizing, hob leads dream to the couch sitting a respectful distance away.

“I want to introduce you to something called Fraggle Rock”

Dream gives him a look.

“That is a children’s show,”

Hob does not pay attention to him and hits play.

By the end of it Dream is inconsolable.

“They are so silly… but they love each other, their world is beautiful and bright,”

Hob simply nodded, now Dream was getting it.

Soon Dream adds more color to his wardrobe (very dark purple and blue) and Hob sees the merit in disturbing art. They’ve become a bit like each other, a balancing out force for the better. And Dream’s end of the year speech talks about how both comfort and disturbance belong in art.

This is adorable. "Disturb the comforted and comfort the disturbed" is such a dreamling vibe. Both perspectives can be true and both experiences of the world are equally meaningful.

And I honestly don't think we talk enough about Hob as an artist!!!! Of course it makes sense for Dream to make art, but I truly believe that Hob would also make a wonderful artist. I can really see him as a sculpter or maybe working with ceramics - something that really gets his hands into the clay, probably making the biggest mess you can imagine. I figure he probably makes some pretty fucked up disturbing art (maybe Dream’s influence shows here), because after a long time trying to make everything positive and cheerful, he eventually sees that the truth of the world is kind of dark sometimes! And that's actually an okay thing for him to express in his work. He doesn't have to try and make everyone happy. He can just be himself!

Dream is a big fan of Hob’s dark periods and definitely ends up being one of his first customers. But he also has a soft spot for Hob’s radiant, gentle art. Hob’s art is definitely the only primary colour allowed into Dream’s house!!! Along with Hob himself, of course - he is always welcome, no matter how garish his outfits may be!

Randomized Tribe-swap Featuring... The Dragonets of Destiny!

I've had this idea for a little while, since i never saw any tribe-swaps despite swap aus being popular in most other fandoms I've been in. Btw if you think this idea is cool and wanna do it but feel like your "stealing an idea" or "its already been done so who cares"... NO DON'T LISTEN I WANNA SEE MORE TRIBE-SWAPS, I WANNA SEE YOUR IDEAS!!!!!!!!!!

alright first up...

Clay

Clay, now renamed to Sculpter is a sandwing who grew up in the scorpion den, most young sandwings would be beaten and bruised with many scars but due to his ginormous size despite his age Sculptor was often feared and avoided by other sandwings. He used this to his advantage to protect other dragonets in the scorpion den. Most dragonets saved by him did not stick around because they didn't want to get into more scuffles, but Sculptor slowly accumulated a little group of misfits who stuck by him through thick and thin. Sculpter learned that he had family outside the scorpion den and decided to leave and go find them, with his found family coming with to help him.

Tsunami

Tsunami, now named Swarm is a hivewing who grew up relatively normal, but she started to notice all the injustices that both silkwings and hivewings faced and grew agitated with the system she lived in, but felt she couldn't do anything about it. That is until she found out that she was related to Queen Wasp. She then knew what she had to do, she had to kill Wasp and take the throne for herself so she could fix everything. This... wasn't the best OR easiest plan it turns out, but she soon found help from The Chrysalis and some Leafwings aswell as a mysterious and strange hivewing.

Glory

Glory, now renamed to Aconite is a hivewing who was hidden from her birth mother. She was taken by leafwings by mistake, who did not know the egg they had taken was a hivewing egg. Once the poisonwings figured out she was not a lost leafwing they started to treat her badly. She was treated like a mistake, a monster waiting to burst, telling her her tribe was awful and that they saved her from them. Her only friend was an outcast leafwing, she lost hope in proving the poisonwings wrong about both herself and her tribe. That was until she was sent on a mission to the hives and she met a strange hivewing asking for help to take down the current queen. She soon learned that she and the hivewing, Swarm, are related.

Starflight

Starflight, now renamed to Milkweed is a leafwing born to be a prodigy. He was apart of the effort to create stronger leafspeak but for some unknown reason he was born without it. He was outcasted and treated like the biggest failure next to the hivewing who he hung out with. Hes often bullied, but he is extraordinarily smart, and knows everything about history, herbs, dangerous flora and fauna and about anything else written in a book he can get his hands on. He would prove useful to the group trying to find a way to stop Wasp from her tyrannical rule, as he knew about the breath of evil and how it worked.

Sunny

Sunny now renamed to Beetle is a strange silkwing, shes very charismatic and often gets in trouble for being "too cozy" with hivewings. Shes very upset with how hivewings treat silkwings but she has hope that this will change one day, and this hope is fully ignated once she finds out her mother is apart of a secret group called The Chrysalis. She begs to join, and her mother reluctantly agrees, sending her on her first mission to help out a strange hivewing and some leafwings. On this journey she learns about her lineage and how shes actually part hivewing, and how her father is currently being held captive and frozen in time by wasp. Sunny wants to save her father, and the best way to do it is getting rid of wasps mind control.

AND DONE! I feel so bad that literally everyone BUT clay was made into pantalan dragons. I wasnt originally planning on connecting their stories but i got too many ideas and did it anyway XD

I have zero clue how to tie clay into the rest of this, but despite that i still drew a messy portrait of them all together :3

i might do this with other protagonists but this one took so long that im not really sure anymore...

85. What kind of magic or other fantasy powers would you like? 

Maybe teleportation, assuming there weren't any negative consequences.

86. What’s your ideal fantasy weapon?

Something that isn't too heavy but long enough to have decent range. Maybe a bow of sorts? I'd have to get the strength in my arms to use it, but I might be a decent shot with some practice. 

87. What kind of fantasy pet would you like? 

I don't really like the idea of having a pet. It'd be irresponsible, since I cannot even technically care for myself properly. So I'd want something that is self-sustaining.

88. If circumstances were different and money wasn’t a concern, what would be your dream job?

A sculpter, perhaps. Or I could sell small figures, like clay dolls. Both, maybe.

89. If you had your own country, what would it be called? What would the flag look like? 

This sounds like a chore. I'm horrible with names. Maybe a flag that is blue and white, with a circle in the middle. I'm certain there are many rules about how flags should look that I won't bother to research at the moment.

90. If you could turn any activity into an Olympic sport, what would you have a chance at winning a medal for?

Sculpting. I think I could build a good card tower in a decent amount of time. Perhaps not a gold medal, but some kind of medal.

91. Invent a new sport. What’s it called, how do you play it, and what are the rules?

I don't like most sports. Especially physical contact sports. Can I make a sport that involves making toys? Chess is considered a sport, so surely something like that could potentially qualify. There'd have to be some regulations, of course.

92. What would be your idle animation if you were a video game character? 

Hm. I am told I stim by curling and playing with my hair a lot, so perhaps that. Or simply playing with a toy, that feels in-character.

93. A magical fairy gifts you something. What is it? 

I assume that I get to choose, rather than trying to guess what it is. In some myths, fairy dust has odd affects on items when it is sprinkled around. Floating dice, maybe? That could be equally fun and irritating.

94. What TV channel doesn’t exist, but it really should?

I don't watch much Television, but they should have a channel dedicated primarily to the Transformers franchise.

95. If you had unlimited funds to build a house, what would it look like? What’s your floor plan?

Something small, but large enough to house more people than just myself. I'd like to be able to get around without too much hassle or assistance. I'd prefer a bedroom that is large enough to fit my toys and a bed, although I should probably keep the majority of my toys in a separate, larger room, which would be quite tall as well in order to fit towers I build. There should be a bathroom close to both of these locations, since I'll be spending quite a lot of time in those rooms.

96. If you had unlimited money for a vacation, where would you go and what’s in the itinerary? 

I'd like to simply go to France. I would visit my hometown and Paris, I think. Perhaps I'd travel around a bit more beyond that, as well.

97. What fictional place would you like to go to? 

I would say Cybertron but that feels like quite a dangerous pick. I'll say it anyway, though. It'd be quite fascinating.

98. If you could change your date of birth, what would you like for it to be?

I don't have much issue with my date of birth, actually. Although perhaps I would make it a little later into the month, or even early September. My birthday often falls on a day of the year isn't cold and still fairly warm, but not so warm as to cause too much discomfort. Though it can actually be rather humid, depending on the year and place I spent it in.

99. If you opened a restaurant or bakery, what would it be called, and what’s on the menu? What’s the vibe of the place like? How is it decorated? 

Oh, I would like to open a bakery. It was actually one of my mother's dreams. I'm not good at cooking or baking, though. But I'd have some traditional French pastries and such not he menu, at least. Something cozy and small, most likely.

Annnnndddddd last question! What are your thoughts on this list?

It was fine. There were plenty of questions that were slightly uncomfortable, but since I believed I actually managed to answer all of them without feeling the need to skip any, I think the list was quite good.

ILSE FISCHER has gotten intermittent work as a governess since she emigrated. With the new children expected and growing in Alicel, the Laces but up an advertisement for a teacher. Taking her chance to move out of the city and live somewhere a little less full (that didn't make her break out in coughs whenever she left her house) Ilse has taken up the challenge. She knows it will take some time to prepare before she can beginning working, the children at the Laces are still babies and there is no schoolhouse built yet, but she is happy to read and take advantage of the natural clay in the area.

Reason I picked him is he has lots of unique designs for his original monsters that he makes as well as some of the original characters that you makes and the character characters that he makes as well are very visually interesting

Research [Clay Sculpt: Snail and Skull]

Today I'll be looking into this video because I like the skull. It looks cool. And considering this is clay, I want to see how they made it so well.

Since they started with the skull, my questions has already been answered. I really like the detail of the front of the skull, especially around the eyes and nose area. Even if it's a small skull, it looks really good so far.

I liked seeing the very meticulous process of making a giant dent in the skull and also like how realistic the teeth look even if they are tiny.

The cracks also look really realistic and make it look very aged. I also like the detail of some of the teeth being gone.

The detailing process of the helmet looks tedious but I like how they used a sanding machine? to make the edges smooth as it makes it look really good.

Can never go wrong with some tin foil in the shape you want.

While snails don't look very detailed from afar, this sculpter has put in the effort to make it look very detail and I commend that. The variety in the...scaling? look really good and I like how the edges are shaped differently.

Seeing the both of them together is cool, both of them have simalar levels of detail so neither look out of place and I like the way the skull rests on the snail.

I can't tell what kind of paint it is, but it's interesting that this sculpter made a white base layer before intricately painting over it, instead of the 'dark then go lighter' method we use at college. Super Sculpy isn't polymer clay though, so I can imagine there's differences between them.

When making the snail shiny it looks like they use a mixture of gravity and some kind of varnish, which definitely makes the effect look good.

Overall it's a very cool model, reminds me of a hermit crab in a way. Maybe the snail just wanted a shell and didn't realise there was already part of an occupant inside. I like the shininess of the snail and the detail on the skull but the painting of the helmet looks really good too. Just a very well done model.

I will be looking through all of the 6 videos, give my thoughts on each of them, then have my overall thoughts on all of them.

Kurt Schwitters

Kurt had a fascination with his usage of collage, utilizing it as an extension of his paintings. His whole life was to be very experimental with his art, constantly changing from poet to graphic designer, performer, etc. It is very interesting that he strives to touch into the various types of arts just because he mostly wanted to.

Joseph Cornell

I really appreciate Joseph's work, where some of his pieces would be miniature versions of various objects that we see in our life, or it can resemble an actual box containing lots of stuff. I love his fascination with birds as well as it gives of a more lively expression. I could appreciate the attention to detail he made throughout all his art works.

Louise Nevelson

I love how one box in each of her art can contain lots of pieces that have a connection to each other. What's fascinating about these assemblings is how they are all craved from wood. Although her coloring consists of either black or white, it's pleasant to observe to when you look close enough.

Relief Sculpter Explanation

It's interesting to know how a sculpture can be created with a certain amount of relief that can be pressured into it.

Clay Explanation

I have definitely delve into this back then, and it is hard to smooth out clay as a beginner, in which there may be some imperfections. Even so, I definitely did enjoyed trying to form various things using clay.

Tile Preparation

Using this as an example can help me better understand of what I may be getting into this class. I will make sure to note this as preparation whenever we get started.

I can get a clear idea of how 3d art is implemented in various types of media. Makes me feel like these artists gets motivated with these types of art because it gives a big opportunity on endless possibilities on what can be created.

Many of the artist collect their work in various ways. Example include Louise Nevelson collects wood to scrape into, Kurt Schwitters utilizing collages as an extention for his art, and Joseph Cornell collecting boxes to create a purpose upon it.

SCULPTERS WIP

Though the material itself differs from what I've used in the past, methods such as foil inside and the shaping of it is similar enough to processes I've done. This person is far more talented with the precision of the shapes they're able to make as well as two sides of something being identical as intended, which is impressive and something I'd like to work towards.

While not something that'd personally interest me, this person uses a noticeably different process and is well-practiced at what they do given how they differentiate smaller pieces from larger ones for convenience; filling the hollow vinyl with clay if small, foam if big. Their experience shows well in their crafts.

This person's work is disturbing and eye-catching at the same time. They've mastered how skin folds and sags as well as the layering and shine of gore, which I find really cool.

BJD - Michael - PART 2 HEAD

When the body is done it's off to make the head and I just have to tell myself one thing for that: trust the process. Because it will be bad until it's not. I also look at my sketch size wise and for a reference for the profil but I gave up trying to actually make the face look like I drew it simply because I'm not a good sculpter, I have very bad 3 dimensional view and I don't study faces enough to add subtle differences, I just try to make something that looks good and at least for this one it came out so so much better then the old one, mostly thanks to @michaelgecko who pointed out some stuff that was ugly that I didn't see.

First an aluminium face to make it hollow. I also prepared the eyes as round balls from baked clay, that was way easier then making removable ones that I did for Gabriel.

And then I started to add clay, and yes this is bad.

Just some rough passes to get a general shape and to get the eyes in place and then I just worked on that so I have some steps, don't ask me what exactly I did I don't know either, I just kept checking with my sketch.

This was after my first day of working on it for several hours. I wasn't happy with it but I didn't know why it just looked like an alien. But talking with my friend they pointed out that the nose was totally off and gave me some 3D heads as reference, I also blended the eyelids better since apparently face sculpts look better with less details and more smooth in general, and one of the most important things was adding a forehead to this poor guy, it was small fixed but it really bumped it into looking good territory.

These were some small changes but it turned it so good, I still wanted to change some stuff.

Here I changed the nose to be more realistic, added better nostrils and made them as width as the inner corners of the eyes as well as a more prominent nose bridge. Also helped tremendously.

As a last step I just made his lips bigger because they looked a bit off and lost as well as shortening the gap between the end of the nose and the upper lip, after a final smoothing and making the ears look good too it was done. I don't know how many hours I needed for this and I'm probably happier not knowing but this is the best head I ever made. Well it's the second one but idk if I can do this again.

After baking I only marked where I had to cut as well and was done.
