New Act - new vertical thumbnail! This is the image that'll appear if Rose Tide Rising is ever lucky enough to be promoted in Webtoons "Canvas" tab! The above is the "Normal" version, and below 2 are versions with manipulated colour to make the protagonists pop more. Which do you think I should use?

#I don't love that the overlay lightened their skin tones... esp roha who looks super pale #but as one of my patrons did note. the colour pop looks more webtoonsy #and i'm inclined to agreee #darker overlays made the character details harder to see ;_;#if i was a better artist i'd have a better solution lol #the more cartoonish i think the more likely it will be to get clicked on #not that it will even get seen if the algorithm doesn't promote it haha #but alas bc the pirate ship is full of browns and beiges it meant the characters dont stand out and im conscious that the image will be very #small on the webtoons canvas page if it does get promoted #so i want the subjects to be clear and distinct #thoughts? comments? observations?#let me know!#rose tide rising #rtr comic #my art #mine

I have returned to digital art! And honestly I'm surprised at the massive jump in quality, considering this is my first official time drawing Blinky lol.

But seriously though, Jim needs all the hugs after everything he's been through.

I rlly like doing detail work w pen and its looks #super cool but if ur doing color it has to be done before the pen. i thought bc watercolor is transparent u would be able to see but #i think it toned down the detail and texture a lot #also i need to work on backgrounds and like atmosphere i think i wasnt sure what to do w that and its hurting the composition a bit #overall i'm proud of this and had a lot of fun making it:)#i think i will do more wizards. i have done like. a couple before lol but this is my favorite so far #my art

ALSO YES #other things i found strange: zoe having 0 scenes 😐 and nakia finding out ms marvel so early??? 😲#that last thing especially is what made it click for me. and sure enough i google and it says 6 episodes.#what i realized was: this is NOT a 'show that adapts the comic' it is a mini-series that covers the ENTIRE FIRST TWO RUNS #as an origin story for mcu kamala.#so the chances we see any of the characters except like... her parents? ever again are. extremely low. 🤡#i guess i'll just have to stan it as a standalone adaptation once complete...... unless they do something unforgivable with aisha backstory.#ms marvel spoilers /#i guess? it's just details of it as an adaptation lol #(ps this episode was definitely weaker in general but i'm intrigued by Good Boy Kamran. i'd let him join the squad perhaps)

i guess what i really hate about the duolingo update is that if i want to study a particular topic, like future tense or whatever, i can’t do that. the new units are literally just the entire course in one single thing and it’s a different selection every time. which is good because you get a more complete experience with the language (instead of having One unit on One grammatical structure and then moving right along) but like i said. sometimes i like to go back and review a specific topic i can’t do that

#i can click anywhere on this stupid path thing and it will be an amalgamation of like bare basics and highly advanced #i can click on the same thing multiple times and it will be entirely different every time #so i cant even get a linear idea of how its laid out. it seems like it’s literally just whatever #which again good because obviously when youre speaking a language with people its all gonna be different stuff #but still. couldnt they have made like both. i still need to go back and review a lot of courses and now i cant #its like it’s trying to be an effective substitute for a conversation but they cant #youre not RESPONDING to anything youre just translating words/sentences so its better as a learning resource not an interactive one yknow #which is why it makes more sense to have the old defined units #<- also I Know they have premade conversation thingies etc but!! those are not available in many or even most programs #like when i did french on here all the features were lovely #every prompt had audio and there was stories and podcasts and conversations and more #but girl. i main irish. there is rarely even a prompt with audio we do NOT have the conversation feature #duolingo #not to talk about this Again but i didnt actually say what i wanted to in my other post i just said i disliked it but not why i do #also seeing as i have a 700+ day streak. you can understand why this is kind of a large part of my life at this point.#im invested in all the details of this site

#these are within the last 6 months? jfc #the previous ones were all within 6 months of when I first started watching JoJo #I’m not saying you should start watching JJBA of you want to be a better artist but I’m also not NOT saying that #my art #I will say that there are also other things that contributed to my improvement #like having making more time to work on art which allowed me to work on more detailed pieces #and I forced myself to do things that were out of my comfort zone #but even my sketches and speed paints have improved #the very first one in this post and the bottom left are both speed paints and you can see a drastic difference in quality between them #JoJo made something click in my brain in a way I haven't experienced since discovering Alphonse Mucha's work 10 years ago

Okay when did Tumblr app updated so that when you click on the image you can't zoom it and automatically if you swip downwards it will start showing other posts that are similar to the pic you're seeing?
