Historical and fantasy dresses for Maxis body shapes, CU to EU. (Edit: find them for fat body shapes here.)

All ages share the same extensive swatch; recolors can be either standalone or repo'd to AF. Everyone has a fat morph, teens and adults have preg morphs. All required meshes are in the archive, including a default replacement mesh for afbodydressmedieval that adds the preg morph (see details under the cut). Polycounts are low, ranging from 2,214 to 2,276.

The meshes

The swatch

Everyone gets the same recolors but the children don't have necklaces. For non-AF recolors, don't forget to choose either standalone or repo'd.

I included all files even the ones made by the creators credited (mainly for AF) because I edited them in the following ways: • disabled EF on the AF recolors (since EF now have their own mesh and recolors), enabled them for YF when needed, • fixed shoe sounds when needed, • fixed small texture flaws when needed, • edited file names for clarity and consistency, • changed sortindex numbers so that all sets appear tidily one after the other in CAS, • all recolors are now categorized as everyday & formal and 10 of them are also enabled as outerwear (I'll specify which ones as we get to them).

1. Maxis

For all age groups, these 3 recolors will appear in the Nightlife section of the CAS catalog, as if they had shipped with the game (no cc star).

As long as you have the Nightlife expansion, you already have these 3 for AF. However, you'll see I still included 3 Maxis files in the AF folder: they're optional and their function is to disable the Maxis recolors for elders so that they're only available for Y-AF, and to make the red dress (#3) available in CAS (it's hidden by default).

Still in the AF folder, you'll find 2 optional texture default replacements for the red dress: "NoShadow" removes the inter-boob shadow (that shadow doesn't exist on the other 2 recolors), while "NoShadowNoNecklace" is if you want no shadow and also no necklace.

Choose one of the two files at most, and note that if you pick "NoShadowNoNecklace" the necklace will also disappear from recolors 1 & 2.

2. Wawa

Stunning textures by Wawa. There are no recolors #41-94 (I'm not even sure that I want to know if Wawa got around to doing them, these were already so much work 😅 So pretty though).

Sunni texture is from MTS, @rockethorse textures are from here, Nikki textures are from TSR, Alexasrosa texture is from MTS.

The Alexasrosa recolor is enabled for outerwear.

7. Parsimonious + 8. All About Style

Textures made by Arthelope, ChibiSylphe, HappyMoonBelly and Welkin found on Parsimonious (I made small fixes on the ChibiSylphe ones). Textures by All About Style found here.

Arthelope 1-2, ChibiSylphe 1-2-4, Welkin 1-2 and AAS 1-2 are enabled for outerwear.

9. Slig

Textures by Slig.

Since CU don't have necklaces, they really only get 3 recolors. In the CU "Slig - repo'd to AF" folder, keep either 1-2-3 or 4-5-6 depending on which AF version you choose (if you keep all 6 for AF, you should still only keep 3 for CU or you'll have duplicates).

This is a new mesh distinct from the one I made for the MartaXL swimwear & underwear set. It has no alternative feet options since that wouldn't work with the socks, so feel free to delete the sockless recolors (2 & 14) if you have a 'no blockfeet' policy for your game.

Medieval and fantasy dresses for TF, AF and EF. Each age group gets one mesh and the same 233 recolors. The TF and EF recolors can be either standalone or repo'd to AF. This is the foundation of a multi-part project: subsequent parts will give you body shape conversions of these dresses, with all recolors either standalone or repo'd to AF.

The AF mesh is my edited version of iamliz13's alpha-editable gown. The TF and EF meshes are my conversions of that edited mesh, both on new files. AF and TF have fat and preg morphs, EF has a fat morph. Polycount: 3,260.

All textures were initially made by the very talented people credited below. None of this is reuploading other people's work however, as I edited almost all textures and all recolor files properties. I did make those edits on the AF recolor files of the original creators whenever I could, so that you can replace my edited recolors with the originals if you prefer and still benefit from the repositorization.

The meshes

The AF mesh

Iamliz13's AF alpha-editable gown mesh has already been edited by others (I know Dicreasy made a preg morph edit) but if I was going to convert it for 10+ body shapes, I had to get very familiar with it and make sure it was to my exacty liking. So I made my own edit. If you already use Dicreasy or anyone else's version and you want to stick with it, that's no problem since I used the same file. Just make sure you delete my AF mesh.

What I edited: • there was a row of vertices at upper lap level that didn't have the smoothest bone assignment, that's been fixed • the hips were narrower than the standard Maxis AF shape, I widened them to match • remade fat and preg morphs, in line with the Maxis AF shape.

Here's the result, on a recolor that makes use of the alpha part around the abdomen and then on one that doesn't (click to enlarge):

The recolors

Edits I made: • many recolors had some skirt texture bleeding on the left thumb → that's fixed • almost all recolors had issues with the shoe sole and/or underskirt texture not matching the mapping quite right → that's been fixed (you can't tell the difference on a standing or sitting sim but it shows when they're relaxing on a bed or a lounge chair) • most recolors had their shoe sounds set to barefoot → changed all of them to normal shoe instead • many recolors had blank bump maps unnecessarily inflating file sizes → that's been cleaned up • some AF recolors were also enabled for EF → they are now YA-AF only since I made proper EF conversions • changed sortindex numbers so that sets appear one after the other in an order that made sense to me.

All recolors are compressed and tooltipped (not mfBSOK'd, sorry if that's what you prefer). Swatches are included.

If you're not a fan of the clothing categories I chose, you can change clothing categories in bulk using the Outfit Organizer or the BSOK editor. The latter will also let you mfBSOK everything, if you want.

Iamliz13's dress has been recolored so many times, I could have added even more but I had to draw a line for the sake of my sanity. To be honest I'm already pushing it lol. 1. The Dress

This one was a technical challenge but it is now bug-free thanks to the help of much more knowledgeable simmers than I am. Shoutout in particular to @latmosims, who fixed the issue for me 😌

It's for Lifa's trans AM-EM (aemTr). It has a fat morph but no preg morph. Polycount: 11,197.

The recolors are BSOK'd. They can be either standalone or repo'd to Nonsensical-pixels' AF.

1. Default replacement meshes

I did not touch EF, only TF and AF. Polycount is unchanged at 2,146.

The original TF mesh looked like they just downsized the AF mesh without making further adjustments to match the TF proportions seen on the TF naked mesh and other outfits. This must have been one of the first outfits they made back in the day so the inconsistency isn't too surprising.

On TF I also made the shoes less pointy, more rounded.

2. Maxis unhiders & completers

Picture says everything (and is included in the archive), but in a few words ~

For some reason, Maxis decided that TF would have this outfit in all three colors, AF & EF would only have the blue one, and all recolors would be hidden in CAS. Yes, I do blame Maxis for the complexity of this download. Therefore, in the folder called "Maxis unhiders & completers" you'll find files that un-hide the existing recolors in CAS, and files that give the missing green and pink recolors to AF & EF (choose either standalone or repo'd to TF). I categorized all of them as everyday & formal.

Be aware that for some reason they won't show up neatly together in CAS. The blue recolors will be at the very end of the catalog while the other two will be further up.

I hate it too, I could not fix it, let me know if you know how.

3. LiliLiliLili recolors

Categorized as everyday & outerwear. All three ages get the same recolors, TF & EF can be either standalone or repo'd to AF.

Textures by LiliLiliLili. The AF files in the archive are theirs, I'm including them for convenience, hopefully that's ok. I edited the file names to match the numbered swatch.

Going into this I fully expected to have to remake the LiliLiliLili recolors on a fresh mesh to avoid a conflict for people using a different default replacement for ufbodydressabovekneesuit. But somehow it doesn't seem to conflict. Like I tried having the LiliLiliLili recolors in my downloads folder at the same time as these defaults, and then these, and it caused no issue: the BG outfits were getting replaced as intended and the LiliLiliLili outfits showed up fine. Even more confusing, everything was still fine when I added my mesh default replacements into the mix. Somehow the game knew to use my default replacement meshes for the LiliLiliLili outfits and the other default replacement meshes for the BG outfits. I tried changing the load order and still no issue 🤔 So I mean that's great. But if I messed up my testing and you're experiencing a mesh conflict, please let me know.

A big set of tops and bottoms for TF-AF-EF and Lifa's TM-AM. I used textures by Xandher from their 'Soliloquy tops', 'Bixie tops', 'Solo stockings', 'Chorus leggings' and 'Lillith leggings'.

The originals for AF were on meshes by Simal10 (top, bottom). I tweaked them & added morphs before converting for the other body shapes. The shoe-less stockings bottoms are on new meshes.

All body shapes get the same recolors. The non-AF recolors can be either standalone or repo'd to AF. The Lifa trans M recolors are BSOK'd. You will need Lazy Duchess's Separates4all mod to be able to select separates for non-everyday clothing categories.

All meshes have fat morphs, adults also have preg morphs. Everything is on new files, including the AF stuff, because of the mesh edits I made.

About the meshes

The original top mesh had neither cap nor backface so the inside was invisible. To mitigate that, it was made very narrow, which caused clipping with pretty much all bottoms except ones using the original bottom mesh, which was very slim. I enlarged both meshes to better match the Maxis AF shape and added a backface to the top.

Here see the top mesh comparison, shown in both pics with my bottom mesh that matches the standard AF shape:

For both the tops and the bottom with wedges, I deleted mesh parts that the textures didn't make use of to reduce polycounts (and adapted the Chorus leggings to not make use of that part I deemed unnecessary). Also added morphs to everything.

Why no emTr?

You can enable the amTr separates for elders if you want but they won't mix and match smoothly with standard EM-size clothing because the EM waist is in a different place. There is no Lifa trans EM body shape for me to convert to, we usually just enable the AM stuff for EM, but I personally only do that for full-body outfits where waist-matching isn't an issue.

A set expanding Xandher's Vision Holiday outfit. I added morphs to the AF mesh and converted for TF, EF, Melodie9 fat TF-AF-EF and MartaXL edit AF-EF.

An underwhelming titlecard for a pretty big set of tops and bottoms converted for Lifa / @withlovefromsimtown's trans AM body shape. All have fat and preg morphs, the recolors are BSOK'd.

The swatches below are purposefully widely shot to show examples of combinations with other pieces from the set. While the meshes are based on Lifa's trans AM full-body mesh, everything can also be combined with regular AM separates without waist seam issues.

Some of these pieces are enabled as athleticwear or formalwear. To be able to select separates for clothing categories other than everyday, please use Lazy Duchess's Separate4all mod.

Preg previews

Yes, the fat + preg morph combo looks ridiculous as always. Since I wanted everything to be combinable with other AM pieces, I had to comply with the standard placement of the waist seam vertices. Maxis is 100% to blame for giving AM such shitty morphs.

As my obsession with old TSR cc continues to devour my brain, here's a set expanding Xandher's Monarchy Dress. I reshaped the AF mesh, added a preg morph to it and converted for EF, Momma Lisa AF-EF & Trans Momma Lisa AM-EM.

Polycount: 2,450. All have fat morphs, adults have preg morphs. Categorized as everyday & formal. The Momma Lisa and Trans Momma Lisa recolors are BSOK'd.
