Something I've been thinking about this week :

S17 has had such LIMITED locations and it's probably because of how many people they added to the cast for this season.

Even when we finally saw Emily out of the office, she was at Garcia's instead of her own house.

Will and the boys haven't been in this season because JJ has never been at home.

In two seasons, we still have yet to get a single scene of Luke outside of work (again, not at Garcia's).

Tara and Rebecca too. They apparently lived together last season... But we never saw that.

In the lead up to S16, all the interviews were like 'You're going to get to really see these characters outside of the job. You will get so much more personal with them' - - but that translated to Will being in every episode and Rossi.... Well, being The Main Character.

In S17, instead of following through on the aforementioned promise, they spent the budget on promoting (Voit) to main cast, while keeping Tyler around all season too.

WE DIDN'T NEED MORE CHARACTERS.

We already had an ensemble cast!! I felt like Tara barely had any screen time this season because that time went to Voit, Tyler, Jill, Damien and Jade, etc.

I would take some personal character growth (unrelated to the case!!!) of the profilers, over Elias Voit being a main character any day. I would much rather have complex character development of the six BAU members and less side characters, than having 12 completely underdeveloped characters vying for screen time.

CRIMINAL MINDS: EVOLUTION

S17 SPOILERS.

It has been confirmed by my lovely friend @foxy-eva that the English Subtitles in the Criminal Minds: Evolution Season 16 Finale, as posted by Amazon Prime in Germany, reveal the person who opens the door.

The subtitles indicate that it is, in fact, Spencer Reid. The exact line is:

“Dr. Reid. Well, wasn’t expecting you.”

It’s very possible that this was just a possible line, which Elias’ actor was recorded saying for one of many optional reveals. But, the claim about the subtitles is true. They are there.

i rewatched criminal minds: evolution for the first time and goddamn i love the way they’ve rebooted cm so much. i love that it feels more serialized than the other seasons (tho obviously not completely serialized because they still have a monster of the week), i love that there was more gore, i LOVE that they got to swear, i love that the episodes are longer and we get more room to breathe with emotional moments, i love that reid is not there (sorry to reid fanboys i just don’t care about him that much) and i really really fucking love that paget got to have her natural hair color and not that awful wig. i also really love the cinematography? bc i swear to god it’s different from previous seasons and it’s a nice change from the way procedurals are normally shot (not that the cinematography is award-winning but i feel like there is definitely a difference between earlier seasons and evolution. though maybe it’s just the different aspect ratio idk maybe i’m insane). anyway i’m not gonna say that evolution is groundbreaking or that it’s the best tv i’ve ever watched but god i think this rewatch has made it my favorite season of cm

if Matt is involved in Gold Star, I'm just imaging how he's trying to keep it a secret not just cause it's a part of his job but he doesn't want the BAU to be in danger especially as he knows that the team won't stop till they get the answers they want and the AG is willing to do whatever it takes to keep Gold Star confidential. He's willing to put himself at risk to protect the team and not let them end up like Bailey

It’s gonna be so angsty seeing that if that happens. This would be such a perfect storyline for Matt and it’s so him to put himself at risk and protect them, not wanting the team to end up like Bailey.
