CREATIVITY AT IT'S BEST

Danish artist Thomas Dambo creates larger than life sculptures hidden around his hometown of Copenhagen.

His sculptures require secret poems and clues in order to locate them.

I love these sculpture so much and I adore anyone who has an idea, which at concept must seem completely crazy if said out loud BUT you go ahead and pursue the idea anyway!

I consider coding an art. My husband laughs. I think he still thinks of computers as giant calculators but they are in fact more like a note pad and crayons where you can make almost anything possible.  I see these sculptures and it just reminds me how people can create anything they want if they just believe in their creativity and are persistent in following the idea to it's conclusion.

So many ideas I had as a child about how the future would look involved technology. I was always a bit of a geek and lots are now standard bits of kit used in homes today.  Take the ipad or the iphone it would have been simply mind blowing 15 years ago.

Technology can really change how we live our lives in the future and there are no limits to the crazy ideas you can have.  

Children can start their journey experimenting with code far earlier than you may have imagined.  Apps like scratch junior open the door to coding as young as 3.  They give another dimension to creativity and teach children persistency to follow a project to its end.  Traits which are valuable to anyone even if they don't choose not to follow a career in programming.

Meet Yuma Soerianto, the young 10-year-old app developer from Australia flown to San Francisco to learn about apps at Apple's Worldwide Developer's Conference.  He started coding at 6 using online platforms. 

You can read more about him.  What an inspiration.  It really shows you can be any age to start your coding journey.

CREATING A MONSTER

My 8 year old daughter is so excited that we have launched Fuzzy Codes.  I can't seem to stop the questions coming, she wants to know which project we will deliver first.  Shall we show them how to add their own pictures to projects? Shall we start with jokes or nursery rhyme? It is quite wearing but I am so delighted that my daughter can see how our screen time can help other people in a positive way. 

If we consider how coding clubs in Wales can help produce potentially hundreds or thousands of little coders like Lily it is quite mind blowing.
