“what do you think the purpose of life is?”

she drew her eyes away from the clouds above to look at the curly haired boy laying next to her on the blanket, the remnants of their picnic scattered around him.

“the purpose of life?” she repeated, scrunching her eyebrows together.

“yeah, the purpose… or the meaning of life. however you want to phrase it.” he replied, propping up his elbow and shifting his weight to his side, his face turning towards hers.

she laid her head back down, focusing on the clouds once again. he didn’t move, drinking in her appearance in the golden evening sunlight. minutes passed, his eyes so focused on her he had almost forgotten the question he asked.

gaze never leaving the clouds, she parted her lips and said simply, “to live.”

flash forward to 2024 – i had 66k. tiktok was banned in the united states through a censorship law passed.

social media has become a form of protest in this country. i have deleted instagram, threads, facebook, and tiktok if it returns under new american ownership. billionaires run this country and this world and we keep letting them.

i currently have 20.6k followers on tiktok and yet my tumblr with my 141 followers has been and remains my favorite place to be since 2014.
