New Riso color chart featuring the 8 inks I have access to now! This is the next edition of the ‘My Faves Riso Flavors’ print where I’m layering 4 different opacities of each ink with interesting different ink combinations! So a 75% pink + a 50% yellow + a 25% blue makes a nice warm tone brown on the Riso. This is a little guide of some of my favorite color combo possibilities, and some combos I haven’t tried yet and are curious about! Also new size so it’s more portable for anyone going into a Riso studio and needing to reference it quickly. It’s in my shop if you’d like to pick one up and headed out to my October Patrons (patrons who paid on October 1st!) now. There are still a few days left to sign up for November’s Riso Subscription print on Patreon- link in bio if you’re interested in getting fantasy Riso prints in the mail every month 💫 #riso #risograph #risocolorchart #colortheory https://www.instagram.com/p/CkOui26SXX1/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

I ran images of cozmez through PaletteGenerator. Depending on the lighting; cozmez's color palette goes from bright to muted. (winter -> summer) I don't know what their REAL color season is anymore but I assumed they were WINTERS at first sight but in most lighting they likely fall in the Summer season. Especially in neutral lighting, summer is the most plausible. (shown in the anime) Nevertheless, them being cool-toned is the most obvious part about them.
Tumblr media
True summer - cool and muted shades can be seen in neutral(?) lighting
Tumblr media
Soft summer - window light, more shadows in this scene so colors are darker but still muted. Ashy/grey tones.
Tumblr media
Default character designs likely shows Winter tones (cool + bright) Some colors fall into Spring too like mint green and the purple below it (warm and bright) The colors here are far more saturated. Even their overall hair color looks brighter (see purple tips)
Tumblr media
Summer tones shown on Desire cover.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
These palettes are generated after running images of their default character art and Desire cover illust. You can see the difference in value and chroma.
(This is not an art/drawing post just an observation/analysis because I'm bored lol.)

Exploring the Art of Designing
Introduction: Designing is more than just a profession; it's a form of artistic expression that shapes the world around us. From the sleek lines of modern architecture to the vibrant colors of fashion trends, design influences every aspect of our lives. In this blog, we'll delve into the fascinating world of designing, exploring its various forms, techniques, and the impact it has on our society.
The Essence of Design: At its core, design is about problem-solving and creativity. Whether it's creating a user-friendly interface for a website or designing a breathtaking piece of artwork, designers blend functionality with aesthetic appeal. They consider elements such as color, shape, texture, and space to craft visually engaging and meaningful experiences.
Designing Across Industries: Designing is not limited to one field; it permeates multiple industries. Graphic designers craft compelling visuals for branding and marketing, while interior designers transform spaces into inviting environments. Fashion designers push boundaries with innovative clothing designs, and architects conceptualize and build structures that define cityscapes.
The Creative Process: Behind every stunning design is a meticulous creative process. Designers start with research and brainstorming, gathering inspiration from nature, art, and current trends. They then sketch and prototype their ideas, refining them based on feedback and iteration. Finally, they bring their vision to life through digital tools, traditional craftsmanship, or a combination of both.
The Role of Technology: Technology has revolutionized the field of designing, offering new tools and possibilities. Software like Adobe Creative Suite empowers designers to manipulate images, create animations, and design intricate layouts with ease. 3D printing technology has opened up new avenues for product designers, allowing them to prototype and manufacture complex designs quickly.
Designing for Impact: Designers have the power to influence behavior, evoke emotions, and drive change. Sustainable design practices promote environmental consciousness, while inclusive design ensures accessibility for all individuals. Design thinking methodologies encourage collaboration and empathy, leading to innovative solutions to complex problems.
Conclusion: Designing is an art form that blends creativity, functionality, and purpose. It shapes our world in profound ways, from the products we use daily to the spaces we inhabit. By understanding and appreciating the diverse aspects of designing, we can harness its potential to create a more beautiful, functional, and inclusive world for everyone Read more

Gold on Gold: 1910 Gown for Mary Stull Studebaker of South Bend, IN
This full-length gown was a throwback in 1910. Mary Stull Studebaker, who was in her 70s and celebrating her 50th wedding anniversary, opted for a style that was more like a late 19th century look. Not so much in the bodice which was more relaxed than the “wallpaper on the wall” look which was common in the late 19th century. But the high neckline brought lower only through the use of lace and the breadth at the shoulders with tight sleeves are reminiscent of an earlier era when the silhouette was an exaggerated hour glass.
There is no information on the maker of this gown which is a pity. As you can see, it combined gold satin and gold lace with hand-embroidered netting in a combination of geometric and floral motifs, and chiffon softened and overlaid the long satin skirt and also the sleeves which had gathering lines running along their length. A truly remarkable creation which shows how magnificent single-color harmonies can be.
Interestingly, the gown may have been more of a success than the marriage. The South Bend History Museum curators tell us that Mrs. Studebaker spent her anniversary evening out on her own as she was tired of Mr. J.M. Studebaker spending nights at the office or out without her. And she refused to tell him where she went!
Unveiled: Wedding Traditions runs through January 8th at the South Bend History Museum: https://www.historymuseumsb.org/see-do/exhibits-2/

The color wheel is a circular diagram of colors arranged by their chromatic relationship. It is often used to understand color relationships and combinations.
The basic color wheel consists of primary, secondary, and tertiary colors.
Primary Colors:
These are the foundation of every other color.
In traditional color theory, there are three primary colors: red, blue, and yellow.
All other colors are created by mixing these primary colors together.
Secondary Colors:
These colors result from mixing two primary colors.
The three secondary colors are green (blue + yellow), orange (red + yellow), and purple (red + blue).
Tertiary Colors:
These are created by mixing a primary color with a neighboring secondary color.
The six tertiary colors include red-orange, yellow-orange, yellow-green, blue-green, blue-purple, and red-purple.

Today we're returning Brisk, Brash, and Tank to their true RGB states to reflect the color theory game we are making ❤️💚💙
Early on we got critique that the chamelegoons were "too colorful". That enemies that were supposed to be sneaky should be redesigned darker to be more "ninja-like". It felt like coloring our game pastel was radical, even shocking to some, particularly our male dev peers. So, we toned it down but it never felt right 😮‍💨
In rebuilding Squirrely Roo Rabbit, we're unapologetically making the game we want to make 💪 Our game will be pastel, the Chamelegoons will be RGB, and the bosses will be CMYK. Yes, a magenta boss battle is coming your way 💕 To color everywhere! 🥂
