Around this time, last year, I was at @swingtacular - the Galactic Open. I just found some notes in my journal about what my Saturday at this event looked like, and thought it'd be fun to reminisce... ✨ 👽 • 12-1:30pm Teach private lesson • 1:30-2:15pm Quick run through of our routine • 2:30-3pm Quick nap 💤 • 3-3:45pm Prep for Jack & Jill competitions • 4-5:45pm Compete + wait for semi-finals to be announced • 6-7pm Find food to scarf down, then a quick power nap • 7-8:15pm Primp for Rising Star, put on costume 💄 💅 • 8:15pm Report to side ballroom to start warming up • 9pm ish PERFORM for all the lovely people! 💃🏽 • 9:45pm Pictures, wrap up, back upstairs to change clothes • 10pm Hurry back to the ballroom to watch the other amazing divisions 😲 • 11:30pm Drag myself back upstairs for a "quick nap," I tell myself... 😉 😒 • 11:45pm-2:30am "Nap" 💤 • 3pm Rally to go back to the ballroom to social dance 🤘 • 6:45-7:15am Shower + head to bed • 7:30am Set alarm for 12:15pm in order to pack and check out by 1pm Phew! While my current grandma-esque schedule doesn't mind being in bed before 11pm these days... I do miss the adrenaline rush of a solid performance day, as well. Until we can this again... Sorry, Jenna I want to apologize for accidentally deleting your post. I was trying to fix it so it would have the picture with the post instead of being separate above. 

This is Miss Jenna. Jenna dances at Expressenz Dance Center. Jenna has been dancing Expressenz since she was 2 years old. She later joined the company when she turned 6 years old. By the way this her 5th year competing this year. Her favorite style of dance is jazz/open. Let me tell ya, I love me some jazz and open too! Jenna says “It makes her feel like she can use her strengths to her best ability (Which is Leaps & Turns). Her favorite type of turn is called a A La Seconde. couldn’t even think about the idea of doing a la seconds when I was her age. I could barely get a clean double turn. But, her open leap has kinda become her trademark lately. Jenna says her favorite competition is Starpower. I’d also like to mention that she has also won Junior Miss Starpower, Junior Miss Starquest, and is a HOF All-Star. Her favorite costume would be her lyrical costume last year that was made by Jordan Grace Princesswear. The reason Jenna loves her studio is because the teachers always push to the best they can be. They also get to know them very personally and that what makes them work so hard. I’d also like to mention that a relationship between a dance teacher and a student is probably the best one you could have in the dance world. Also the relationships you makes at other studios and your own dance family. Because I know I sure love mine. Jenna’s main teacher has also been teaching her since she was 2 years old. She feels like she knows her very well and that they really care about her. I also want to say how much you have impacted my dance career. I maybe 17 years old but it’s never too late to learn new things. I just want to say you’ve helped me become more emotional when I dance. I want to thank you for that. <3
