Professional Development Plan
For this week's post, I am going to outline my professional development plan for the future.
My first goal is to take a 300 level University Statistics Course. This is a goal of mine because it is a prerequisite to applying for my Masters In Nursing Education.
I am going to ask fellow nursing educators which courses they took and at which institution as well as research some on my own.
I would like to have this course completed by February 2026 because the submission deadline for Masters applications are at this time.
My second goal is to complete another PIDP course.
I am going to look at what courses are available and which ones I would like to do next.
I would like to have this course completed by Jan 2025.
My third goal is to become more proficient in using Microsoft Excel as this will help me to achieve my first goal of taking a statistics course.
I will look for online tutorials available to me and then utilize any resources that I can find at the college where I work.
I would like to complete this goal by the time I am enrolled in a statistics course so that I may use my newfound knowledge during the course.
My fourth goal is to obtain a continuing position as a faculty member in the nursing program where I am currently working as a term instructor.
I will monitor job postings for any new listings for continuing positions. I will also express my interest to the leadership team at the college. I will practice interview questions and techniques in preparation for any interviews that come up.
