Preparing for birth is natural during pregnancy but I don’t know that you can really prepare for birthing the mother within you. No matter how much you read about the emotional and spiritual journey into motherhood, there just is no comparison to experiencing it. ⠀⠀ For myself it did help to read books like The Continuum Concept which helped me connect meaning to the ancestral needs and desires I felt as a mother. ⠀⠀ It helped me understand why I craved being taken care of. It helped me see how important it is to be physically close to my baby during those first few months and that I wasn’t being overprotective.
