Gracie came to me after I saw her on a Rescue Site. It wasn’t until we were boarding her for the first time, that I truly read through her vet records that cane with her, when I adopted her. October 13, 2018 Gracie was 1.5 years old. Her vet records indicated that she was on powerful pain meds for 3 of her paws/legs. Her “home life” was horrific for her. She was confined to a kennel where she lived in feces & urine😓🦊 Her paws & legs were so severely damaged, the Doctor didn’t know if she’d have use of her 2 back legs😓❤️🦊 The Doctor indicated that he would continue to monitor her results & hoped that she would bit need another round of the pain meds. Miss Maddie is spending some time warming her soul in the sun. Our sweet sunshine is on hospice care currently. Her liver failure has progressed too far and her collapsed trachea is worsening. She is receving injectable cerenia to keep her from vomiting and it is helping her to function. Maddie has been a foxy little ball of sunshine and now it is our turn to take care of her in her last days. Maddie has been showing signs of her liver failure resuming. She has had severao wonderful months of rejuvenatiom but we know that it is a matter of time. She still is on all her medications but at a certain point you can not stop the disease progression. Although we would if we could. What we can do is keep her comfortable and loved on. Maddie is slowing down, eating less, and sleeping more. She still is her sweet, happy little self. She twirls in circles and has a cute little run. We know Maddie will tell us when it is time, we never allow suffering.
