What is China New Virus?

China is again struck with a new, alarming virus that attacks the lungs and respiratory tract in children. The outbreak in the country has been going on since May, and now, the country's medical service faces thousands of patients daily.

The severe respiratory disease attacks respiratory organs, causing secondary symptoms associated with pneumonia. In addition to this, body pain and breathing difficulty are reported in children. Schools have been shut down, and people are requested to follow the WHO Guidelines. 

In this blog post, we will discuss what is the China New Virus and how you can take preventive precautions.

What is China New Virus?

China is currently facing a new virus causing respiratory abnormalities, including Pneumonia. However, you can rest assured that researchers have not reported any new pathogens related to the illness. Unlike COVID-19, which was caused by the coronavirus, the new respiratory infection results from pathogens such as influenza virus, adenoviruses, and RSV. 

Chinese healthcare professionals expected the outbreak long ago. This was mainly an estimation of the country’s first winter season without COVID restrictions. However, epidemiologists believe that the prevalence of pneumonia in China is highly unusual.  

What Does Chinese Health Care Say?

The National Health Commission of China reported the first “Pneumonia Outbreak” case on November 13, 2023. Since then, there has been a sudden hike in children's hospitalization cases. This week, the situation became even more intense and gained the attention of the World Health Organization. Concerning the large number of abnormal pneumonia cases in  China, the organisation asked for current reports. A Program for Monitoring Emerging Diseases (ProMED) statement on undiagnosed pneumonia cases in children is requested from the China Health Department.

According to the latest reports, the virus originated in northern China and then spread Nationwide. Most of the severe pneumonia cases are recorded in Beijing, the country’s capital, Beijing. However, the viral outbreak has reached northeastern Liaoning province and other areas in China. 

China New Virsus: Current Reports

This week, WHO issued a report, “According to China’s health department, known pathogens, such as influenza virus, adenoviruses, and RSV, cause the pneumonia outbreak”. It is associated with mild symptoms such as sneezing, wheezing, and coughing.

However, the most severe cases are associated with “Mycoplasma pneumoniae”, a bacterial virus causing lethal pneumonia. The bacterium infects the mucus lining of the lungs and causes difficulty breathing. Oftentimes, it is called ‘walking pneumonia’. The symptoms usually last for a few days and cause mild discomfort. 

Benjamin Cowling, an epidemiologist at the University of Hong Kong, said that the surge of illness was not“shocking”. “This is a typical ‘winter surge’ in acute respiratory infections,”. It is happening slightly earlier this year, perhaps because of increased population susceptibility to respiratory infections resulting from three years of COVID measures.” He added.

Symptoms Of The Virus

The Chinese healthcare professionals said that “Years of isolation have weakened the immune system”. Children in growth years and under-development are more prone to the virus. Though, it is causing only mild pneumonia-like symptoms, proper sanitation and preventive measures are necessary.

India’s Response To The New Virus

A fresh instance of the XBB 1.5 strain has apparently been found in Uttarakhand. Before three instances were found in Gujarat, one case each was found in Karnataka, Telangana, Chhattisgarh, and Rajasthan.

The XBB.1.5 strain is connected to the Omicron XBB variant, a recombinant of the Omicron BA.2.10.1 and BA.2.75 subvariants. Together, XBB and XBB.1.5 account for 44% of cases in the US.

The XBB 1.5 strain is responsible for the Covid-19 cases in the United States, but the INSACOG data has revealed that nine cases of the BF.7 strain, which is suspected to be responsible for the coronavirus outbreak in China, have been found.

कोविड-19 के दौर में कांग्रेस अब प्रदेश सरकार को घेरने के लिए बड़े स्तर पर आंदोलन छेड़ने की तैयारी में है। कांग्रेस प्रदेश अध्यक्ष प्रीतम सिंह ने पार्टी के प्रदेश उपाध्यक्षों और महामंत्रियों की अलग-अलग बैठक बुलाई है। इन बैठकों में कांग्रेस आंदोलनों की रणनीति पर मंथन करेगी।

कांग्रेस प्रदेश उपाध्यक्ष सूर्यकांत धस्माना के मुताबिक सात जुलाई को प्रदेश अध्यक्ष की बातचीत प्रदेश उपाध्यक्षों से होगी। इसके बाद आठ जुलाई को प्रदेश महामंत्रियों के साथ अलग से बैठक होगी। इन बैठकों में संगठन, आंदोलन आदि को लेकर बातचीत होगी।

पेट्रोल और डीजल के बढ़े दामों के खिलाफ कांग्रेस छह जुलाई से प्रदेश स्तर पर आंदोलन का एलान पहले ही कर चुकी है। छह जुलाई से प्रत्येक सोमवार को पेट्रोल पंपों पर कांग्रेसी एक घंटे का प्रदर्शन करेंगे। यह प्रदर्शन तेल की कीमत वापस न लेने तक किया जाएगा। माना जा रहा है कि इसी आंदोलन को कांग्रेस और अधिक विस्तार दे सकती है।

कांग्रेस की राष्ट्रीय महासचिव प्रियंका गांधी से सरकारी आवास खाली कराने को प्रीतम सिंह ने बदले की भावना करार दिया। अध्यक्ष के मुताबिक यह आवास उन्हें पूर्ववर्ती सरकार ने सुरक्षा के लिहाज से उपलब्ध कराया था। प्रियंका की सक्रियता से भाजपा असहज है और यही वजह है कि बाजार दर पर किराया देने के बाद भी उनसे आवास खाली करवाया जा रहा है। 

सामान्य दिनों की तरह बाजार और होटल खुलवाए सरकार : हरीश रावत

पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री और कांग्रेस के राष्ट्रीय महासचिव हरीश रावत ने कहा कि सरकार को पहले की सामान्य स्थिति की तरह बाजार खोलने की अनुमति देनी चाहिए। पूर्व सीएम के मुताबिक कोविड के कारण बाजारों और होटलों में पसरा सन्नाटा टूटना चाहिए। लोगों को नियमों का पालन कर बाजार, होटल आदि जाना चाहिए। रावत के मुताबिक अर्थव्यवस्था को गतिमान बनाने के लिए यह जरूरी है।

डॉक्टरों को धरती पर भगवान का रूप यूं ही नहीं कहा जाता, अपने सेवा भाव से उन्होंने इन पंक्तियों को चरितार्थ किया है। कोरोना काल में जब लोग पीड़ितों को देखकर उनसे दूर भाग रहे हैं, तब यही डॉक्टर प्रेम और सेवा भाव से उनका उपचार कर रहे हैं।

इसी का नतीजा है कि आज हम कोरोना से सुरक्षित राज्य की तरफ कदम बढ़ा रहे हैं। कोरोना के संकट काल में डॉक्टरों की भूमिका और ज्यादा महत्वपूर्ण साबित हुई है। कोरोना की शुरूआत के साथ ही इसको लेकर डर और दहशत का माहौल भी बन रहा था। नया वायरस होने के चलते इसके बारे में बहुत ज्यादा जानकारी नहीं थी।

ऐसे में मरीज के संपर्क में आना खासा खतरनाक भी साबित हो सकता था, लेकिन डॉक्टरों ने अपनी जान की परवाह किए बिना न सिर्फ मरीजों का इलाज किया, बल्कि उन्हें घर से लाने और छोड़ने का काम भी कर रहे हैं।

डॉक्टर 18-18 घंटे ड्यूटी कर रहे हैं। कई डॉक्टर तो अपने परिवार को संक्रमण से बचाने के लिए घर तक नहीं जा रहे हैं। यह उनके प्रयासों का ही नतीजा है कि उतराखंड में कोरोना से मरने वालों की संख्या बेहद कम है। 

दून अस्पताल के डिप्टी एमएस और कोरोना के स्टेट कोऑर्डिनेटर डॉ. एनएस खत्री लगातार मरीजों की सेवा में जुटे हैं। पहला कोरोना मरीज मिलने से लेकर आज तक उनके सेवा भाव में कोई कमी नहीं आई है। मरीजों के उपचार की व्यवस्था बनाना, सभी मामलों पर नजर रखना, अधिकारियों को रिपोर्ट करना, वह हर तरह की जिम्मेदारी को ईमानदारी से निभा रहे हैं।

हर मरीज से जुड़े रहे डॉ. अनुराग

कोरोना के नोडल अफसर डॉ. अनुराग अग्रवाल प्रत्येक मरीज से पूरी तरह जुड़े रहे। मरीज को भर्ती करने से लेकर उसके उपचार और अन्य सभी व्यवस्थाओं की जिम्मे��ारी डॉ. अनुराग के पास ही है। मरीजों की सेवा में किसी तरह की दिक्कत न हो इसलिए उन्होंने अपने बच्चों को ननिहाल भेज दिया। उनकी डॉ. पत्नी भी उनके काम में पूरी मदद करती हैं। 

एक-एक चीज पर रही डॉ. सयाना की नजर   

दून मेडिकल कॉलेज के प्राचार्य डॉ. आशुतोष सयाना कोरोना संकट के दौरान हीरो बनकर उभरे। उन्होंने 30 आईसीयू वेंटीलेटर युक्त तैयार करवाए और 50 बेड का नया आईसीयू तैयार करवा रहे हैं। उसकी बिल्डिंग तैयार होने के तुरंत बाद आईसीयू का काम किया जाएगा। शुरुआत में जब मरीजों ने खाने को लेकर शिकायत की तो उन्होंने ही भरपूर डाइट देने की व्यवस्था की। 

कमर पर पट्टा बांध काम करते रहे डॉ. टम्टा   अस्पताल के सीएमएस डॉ. केके टम्टा कमर पर पट्टा बांधकर मरीजों की सेवा में जुटे रहे। कमर में दिक्कत के कारण कोरोना फैलने से कुछ समय पहले उन्हें पट्टा बांधना पड़ा और डॉक्टर ने आराम की सलाह दी, लेकिन वह बहुत ज्यादा समय बेड पर लेटे नहीं रहे और मरीजों की सेवा में जुट गए। उनके ही प्रयासों का नतीजा रहा कि स्टाफ को समय पर तनख्वाह उपलब्ध कराई। उन्होंने न केवल अस्पताल की तमाम व्यवस्थाओं को संभाला, बल्कि स्टाफ को भी किसी तरह की परेशानी नहीं होने दी।

इसी का नतीजा है कि आज हम कोरोना से सुरक्षित राज्य की तरफ कदम बढ़ा रहे हैं। कोरोना के संकट काल में डॉक्टरों की भूमिका और ज्यादा महत्वपूर्ण साबित हुई है। कोरोना की शुरूआत के साथ ही इसको लेकर डर और दहशत का माहौल भी बन रहा था। नया वायरस होने के चलते इसके बारे में बहुत ज्यादा जानकारी नहीं थी। ऐसे में मरीज के संपर्क में आना खासा खतरनाक भी साबित हो सकता था, लेकिन डॉक्टरों ने अपनी जान की परवाह किए बिना न सिर्फ मरीजों का इलाज किया, बल्कि उन्हें घर से लाने और छोड़ने का काम भी कर रहे हैं।

डॉक्टर 18-18 घंटे ड्यूटी कर रहे हैं। कई डॉक्टर तो अपने परिवार को संक्रमण से बचाने के लिए घर तक नहीं जा रहे हैं। यह उनके प्रयासों का ही नतीजा है कि उतराखंड में कोरोना से मरने वालों की संख्या बेहद कम है। 

दिन-रात सेवा में जुटे डॉक्टर

दून अस्पताल के डिप्टी एमएस और कोरोना के स्टेट कोऑर्डिनेटर डॉ. एनएस खत्री लगातार मरीजों की सेवा में जुटे हैं। पहला कोरोना मरीज मिलने से लेकर आज तक उनके सेवा भाव में कोई कमी नहीं आई है। मरीजों के उपचार की व्यवस्था बनाना, सभी मामलों पर नजर रखना, अधिकारियों को रिपोर्ट करना, वह हर तरह की जिम्मेदारी को ईमानदारी से निभा रहे हैं।

हर मरीज से जुड़े रहे डॉ. अनुराग

कोरोना के नोडल अफसर डॉ. अनुराग अग्रवाल प्रत्येक मरीज से पूरी तरह जुड़े रहे। मरीज को भर्ती करने से लेकर उसके उपचार और अन्य सभी व्यवस्थाओं की जिम्मेदारी डॉ. अनुराग के पास ही है। मरीजों की सेवा में किसी तरह की दिक्कत न हो इसलिए उन्होंने अपने बच्चों को ननिहाल भेज दिया। उनकी डॉ. पत्नी भी उनके काम में पूरी मदद करती हैं। 

एक-एक चीज पर रही डॉ. सयाना की नजर   

दून मेडिकल कॉलेज के प्राचार्य डॉ. आशुतोष सयाना कोरोना संकट के दौरान हीरो बनकर उभरे। उन्होंने 30 आईसीयू वेंटीलेटर युक्त तैयार करवाए और 50 बेड का नया आईसीयू तैयार करवा रहे हैं। उसकी बिल्डिंग तैयार होने के तुरंत बाद आईसीयू का काम किया जाएगा। शुरुआत में जब मरीजों ने खाने को लेकर शिकायत की तो उन्होंने ही भरपूर डाइट देने की व्यवस्था की। 

कमर पर पट्टा बांध काम करते रहे डॉ. टम्टा   अस्पताल के सीएमएस डॉ. केके टम्टा कमर पर पट्टा बांधकर मरीजों की सेवा में जुटे रहे। कमर में दिक्कत के कारण कोरोना फैलने से कुछ समय पहले उन्हें पट्टा बांधना पड़ा और डॉक्टर ने आराम की सलाह दी, लेकिन वह बहुत ज्यादा समय बेड पर लेटे नहीं रहे और मरीजों की सेवा में जुट गए। उनके ही प्रयासों का नतीजा रहा कि स्टाफ को समय पर तनख्वाह उपलब्ध कराई। उन्होंने न केवल अस्पताल की तमाम व्यवस्थाओं को संभाला, बल्कि स्टाफ को भी किसी तरह की परेशानी नहीं होने दी।
