on night 21, all of the islanders gather around the fire pit with bash and jenny standing by the bench first, as they’re definitely safe. but that’s all anyone can really count on tonight.

bash’s text tone goes off first. bash had dates with both callie and nana when he came in, but everything stayed pretty surface level. it’s anyone’s call.

“okay, so, i’m choosing this person because we had a great date, and i think we could really bond over the fact that we’re both actors,” he says. “so, the person i’d like to couple up with is nana.”

nana goes over to sit with bash, giving him a hug.

next, jenny surveys the crowd, prepared to make her choice. jenny made waves in the villa by making out with josh, but also seemed to have a heavy flirtationship with maddox, who made his interest clear when she came in the villa.

“so… i’d like to couple up with this boy because ultimately, he’s the first person in the villa i really felt completely myself around. we had a connection right away, the chemistry is effortless, and even though he’s cracking on with someone else, i just have to follow my gut,” jenny says. there’s a long pause, probably a cut to commercial break.

“i’m so sorry for stepping on any toes, but in the end, the choice kind of makes itself. who would you rather share a bed with, the guy who ate pussy for so long he should’ve evolved gills or the,” she holds up air quotes, “‘mid-size dick.’ I’m so sorry mimi, but I have to go with maddox.”

maddox goes to join jenny at the fire pit.

with the suspense out of the bombshell’s choices, callie is called up next. callie has been coupled with liam, but has been pretty cozy with kenny the past few days.

“i'd like to couple up with this girl because i've had a bit of a crush on her since she first came into the villa, and i don't think i'd forgive myself if i didn't try to get to know her better now,” callie says. “last time she made a little bit of waves with who she picked, but i think this time around she deserves to be the one to get picked. the person i’d like to couple up with is kenny.”

kenny joins callie by the fire pit.

romi is called up next. she spent the last week coupled up with kenny while marcus slept on the day beds despite being chosen by nana, but there wasn’t any spark. romi kissed dylan, but in the end, she and marcus decided to be all in on each other.

“i think it’s no secret marcus and i want to be with each other. i know others might see it as a bad move to only spend time with the person i’ve been coupled up with since the beginning but there’s nothing i’m more sure of right now than choosing marcus.”

marcus goes to join romi, and they kiss before sitting down together. power couple vibes.

dylan’s’ phone goes off next, and he surveys the crowd, ready to make his choice. dylan was on the receiving end of drama when he split mimi and luke, only to couple with mimi’s ex, rhys. that connection has since been on the rocks as rhys struggled with having his ex in the villa while he tried to get to know someone.

“i'd like to couple up with this person because it's hard not to smile when they do. they crack the lamest jokes, but you'll find me laughing. it's easy to talk to them and confide in them and i don't think i'd ever get bored of talking to them. they're open and understanding and honest. i know things have been pretty tough for us lately, but i think we deserve the time to figure things out properly before we jump into any decisions. so, the the person i'd like to couple up with is... rhys.”

rhys joins dylan, and josh is called up next. josh wanted to get to know jenny, but after kissing her, he told everyone that he wanted to get serious with naomi instead.

“i would like to couple up with this girl because, despite the crazy few days it’s been for us both, there is no doubt in my mind that she’s the only person i want to get to know here from this point forward,” josh says. “i know i’ve made a lot of mistakes this past week, but i look forward to getting the opportunity to prove to her how much i really do care about her, and how i’m beginning to fall for her. the girl i’d like to couple up with is naomi.”

the last person’s phone to ring is sebastien, who is known to be a bit of a wild card, but has been seen talking about his interest in liam to anyone who asks. he and mimi have formed a friendship, leaving sebastien with the decision between his romantic interest and a good friend.

“i would like to couple with this person because whenever we talk, i do not want to stop. i am not good with words, this would be much easier to say in french, but i can say that i like them very much and this decision is not easy to make, not as easy as i would have liked it to be,” seb says, looking solemn.

“but it is called love island, so i think that makes my decision for me. i am very sorry, mimi, i choose liam.”

liam goes to stand with sebastien, leaving mimi standing alone at the fire pit.

SMS ⏩ MIMI: with all of the islanders coupled up, you are left single and will now be dumped from the island. say your goodbyes and meet the car out front.

the islanders in their couples may feel safe after this turn of events, but the viewers at home know better. as the episode ends, they’ll be asked to vote on their favorite out of all of the new couples . . .
