I thought: "If they're speaking different languages, why should the player have to see text dialogue between them? Let them talk in symbols!".

Я подумала: "Раз они разговаривают на разных языках, то почему игрок должен видеть текстовый диалог между ними? Пусть они говорят символами!".

So I wrote to grok an algorithm for implementing this idea, and he wrote to me how to implement it in code. Since I'm not going to put this alpha/demo (what's the right name?) game out to the public, I'm learning how to program using AI chat. For example, I learnt today that there are signals! It will be convenient and flexible to use them to realise such tasks as shown in the video.

my favorite scene in all of literature is when Neil Josten wakes up in Columbia after being drugged, hurls an alarm clock at Aaron, dumps his water on the floor and throws the cup at Aaron, stuff his clothes down the toilet and squeezes out through the window, has the foresight to call Matt from a pay phone to protect his shit, hitch hikes back to campus, eyes back to brown?? shows up on Wymack’s door like 😜 and reveals he could speak German the whole time?? CHARACTER OF ALL TIME, that is a protagonist who knows how MOVE THE MFING PLOT ALONG

#My dad always told me one of the most important things about writing #Is that your protagonist needs to be the one driving the plot lol #like Neil really mfing does that #He gets the plot moving and when it does it HAULS ASS #One of the most beautiful things about tfc #Is that Nora creates the most insane world and as a reader your like??😂 wtf #But then she writes a character who is perfectly suited to deal with that insane world #it’s so endlessly satisfying to read. All the characters speak other languages perfectly for some reason? No worries.#so does Neil. They like fight with knives and love to slam each other into walls? NO WORRIES #so does Neil #Bitch and he’s 5’3???? My favorite part of The Pitt is every single doctor desperately vying for Robby’s attention and approval and then there’s Whitaker who looks like he wants to scurry off into the walls or crumple into a puddle and disintegrate every time Robby so much as glances his way and so of course that’s who Robby decides to be like “that’s him. that’s my new favorite white boy” with

Ten years ago, Dong Nguyen killed a chart-topping game. After realizing it had become "an addiction" for players, his guilt became so bad that he couldn't sleep. Today, Gametech Holdings, LLC has revived this game but with *more* dark patterns, loot boxes, and predatory design. This is cool.

"But why would Nguyen sell the Flappy Bird Trademark??" "Hope he got his bag!"

Looks like he *didn't*. It seems like it's been long enough that the trademark was considered abandoned, so Gametech Holdings LLC filed against him, and just. Grabbed it for free.
