"I'm... much older than the average human. Almost two centuries. Yet, somehow, I feel like it's a blip in your lifespan. I won't ask for details, mind you. But am I at least close to the truth there?" ~ CreatingLife-RejectedByDeath
@creatinglife-rejectedbydeath

"Two centuries...?" The witch echoed as she propped her chin in her hand, watching them with passive amusement. Mortem leaned lightly into their direction as a grin curled upon her lips.
"You're asking if your age is relevant to my own-- if our longevities are similar? Lovely, you are not even a fetus. You are the musing thought of having a child without any of the commitment to proceed. The what-if in the years that come before finding a partner to procreate with. That is how I'd compare our ages." She answered teasingly and yet there was honesty to be found in her gaze.

♞ — What does your muse believe happens after death? Do they believe in an afterlife and why/why not? If they do, what do they imagine this afterlife to be?
♛ — Does your muse believe in luck? What about fate? ~CreatingLife-RejectedByDeath

Grant doesn't put much thought into the aftermath, cynic that he is. As far as he's concerned, there's nothing after death--he's far more focused on the here and now. Multiple dinosaur-related near-death experiences have only cemented his opinions.
He also doesn't believe in fate, for similar reasons. For those who point out the crazy things he's survived, he's quick to point out that neither fate had nothing to do with that, just his own expertise and a little bit of a luck... something he somewhat reluctantly puts stock into.

"I don't know you, but thanks." ~ creatinglife-rejectedbydeath
“It’s no problem. I’m just glad I was able to help before anything happened,” the blonde murmured, glancing down the dark street where the two men from before had disappeared. Granted, he hadn’t done much, had only approached to ask what was going on ( which had, thankfully, been more than enough to deter the two from whatever they had planned on doing to the male before him ). It was a good thing, though, since Sousuke knew he’d be utterly useless had the two men decided to try to fight him.
“Still, it’s…” He hesitated, shooting the stranger an uncertain glance. “It’s quite dangerous, being out here this late. Would you like me to walk you home? J-just in case, I mean.”

"Do you always flirt with danger, or is this just for me?" ~ CreatingLife-RejectedByDeath (not meant to be exactly sexual. He's testing.)
@creatinglife-rejectedbydeath
"Aye, wouldn't it be a sweet thing for it to be just for you?" The witch mused as she silently clasped her hands behind her back. Her bare feet wandered over the soft grass as she ran her eyes over him, over the one who dared to speak so boldly. She knew it wasn't intended to be so forward of a statement. There was a critical look to his gaze that made her redirect her attention-- that gave her reason to stare at him and not merely through.
"I do not flirt with danger, lovely. I seduce it. Time and time again, I make it mine and lay entwined with danger itself. For if I am not the danger that is spoken of, then surely I am close by." Her ashen lips curled into a grin that met her eyes. Friendly to those that knew not the subtleties of beings that could be as cruel as she. There was something shameless to her candor, pride taken in knowing where she was in the food chain.
After-all, the witch had worked hard to get where she was. One did not build a reputation as infamous as hers without scarring the world to some degree.
One hand removed itself from behind her back as she gave a gentle flourish of her wrist, knees bending in a mocking curtsy-- a tip of her head that sent plum curls sweeping over her lithe shoulders. "A pleasure, let's hope, to make your acquaintance."
