If anyone has wanted to 'peer' into the briefest glimpse of my 2-decade long artistic process, as a discipline of rigorously-refined technique, at the expense of great personal sacrifice, and diligent secrecy, I will share this 26-second exclusive clip, shot unbeknownst to me, from coursework earlier this year as I experiment with a protean form: a complicated scheme conceived by myself, yet against myself, as a diabolical game where two pieces of sandwich bread where intrinsically willed through my elusive internal logic to be, both at once, simultaneously dropped upon the ground, and yet, repetitively suspended, at the maximum distance - proximally and physiologically - capable, apart in the air. Click to witness: 'The Art of Creativity'...[Click For Non-Diegetic Accompaniment].

Salt Crystal Textured Portraits- I created these images using Epsom salts, water, a glass pane, and some dish soap. I wanted to create a crystallized glass effect over some portraits so I applied the mixture of hot water and Epsom salts to a slightly soapy glass pane (The soap allows for the liquid to distribute more evenly). I let the glass pane rest until dry.  Then I laid the glass pane over my laptop screen and shot through the glass. All images available for licensing through @arcangelimages

Repost from @themoonstorybook ・・・ So even though I didn’t do any illustrations for the #themoonstorybook yesterday, I did catalog and play with some watercolors in a #sketchbook . Sometimes when I’m in a bad mood or not feeling very inspired, I just play with paint effects and test out different art materials. It is an excellent #creativeexercise as well as a great #creativetool to be able to go back and see what color and texture different brands and mediums make. These #watercolors I received from @artsnacks (Which is an amazing #artsubscriptionbox . Highly recommend!) they are from one of my favorite companies @kuretakezig_usa @kuretakejapan I really love how pigmented the colors are. ( I also have several markers and pens from them that I 😻) so next time your feeling blah and uninspired, just play! You’ll feel better and may discover new #creativetechniques (p.s. this is not an endorsement. I just really enjoy both of these companies 😘) #playingwithwatercolor #sketchbookexperiments #illustrationtechniques #creativeblockcure #creativeblocks #arttherapyheals #watercolortherapy #artisttherapy #art_therapy #artsnackschallenge #artsnacks

{Bottles 2}🍶🍶 I usually sketch them with a Pilot Frixion and erase the lines at the end with a heat gun. Then for some finishing touches I draw lines with colored pencils and a white gel pen. . . . #creativetechniques #watercolorpainting #artisticexpression #artistsoninstagram #watercolor_gallery #inspirationdaily #watercolorlovers #artisticjourney #coloredpencils #createeveryday #watercolorart #weirdbottles #pilotfrixion #whitegelpen #artoftheday #sketchbook #artprocess #stilllife #artshare #heatgun #artgram #artlife

#think: put you brain to bed
Sleeping is healing. Do you sleep enough at night?
If your answer is less than seven hours, you are putting your brain and your general health into serious danger.
Tumblr media
Latest sleep research suggests that the shortest time needed for brain and body to recover from daily stress is seven hours, preferably eight. People who sleep five hours and less will sooner or later develop a serious health problem - guaranteed!
During sleep brain sends messages to body to produce all kinds of enzymes and hormones which serve to repair damaged cells, stop inflammation processes and bring body functions into right balance. Sleep also serves to calm down strong emotions and erase unnecessary information from the brain so to avoid data overload. Lack of sleep leads to increased aggression, suicidal thoughts and addiction disorders and is also connected to various mental illnesses.
During sleep, heart rate decreases and blood pressure stabilizes reducing the risk of heart attack or stroke. People in their 40s who sleep less than six hours a day are two times more likely to have a serious cardiovascular disease in their lifetime.
Sleep deprived cells in the brain are less responsive to insulin which puts a person in the risk of entering a prediabetic state. Lack of sleep can cause irregular production of hunger regulating hormones which can deceive body to feel stronger need for food.
During the last one hundred years there have been more and more people suffering from cancer and Alzheimer’s disease. Sleep research suggests that during a short sleep our cancer-fighting cells do not have enough time to do their work properly, so the risk of having a cancer decreases. Furthermore, brain cannot disintegrate all the toxic proteins that are generated there during the day so in time they accumulate and eventually start to kill healthy brain cells. As far as hundred years ago most people did not have electricity to keep them awake until late in the night. They did not have cable TV, night clubs or Internet to keep them entertained long past midnight. They did not have to work night shifts, or stay awake throughout the night to finish their daily tasks, in peace, after the children have gone to bed. They did not have to sacrifice their sleep to be able to manage their everyday life.
It is essential for your health that you try to develop a steady circadian rhythm by going to sleep in the evening and waking up in the morning at around same time, every day. Regular, uninterrupted eight hour sleep will allow your body to stay in balance and it will help you build strong immune system that will keep you fresh and healthy regardless of your age.
