Many of us have proudly shared our original work over Instagram, yielding shares amongst the 1 billion users without being properly credited. While this exposure is what most artists strive for, the lack of recognition and proper credit may equate to missed career opportunities or brand building within their own industry space. As social media trends change, the app has evolved into a platform where resharing other people’s content has become just as common as posting one’s own work. Now nearly 11 years old and growing into one of the most widely used social platforms, this is an Instagram app update that is long overdue. Let’s work together to make Instagram add an option for creators to be tagged and credited for their work.
