YEP! THE CREEL MURDERS HAPPENED ON SUNDAY MARCH 22nd/THE NIGHT OF SATURDAY MARCH 21ST! Just like i talked about in this post.
How do i know this? Well.
Tumblr media
“Local family man, Victor Creel, murdered his wife and two small children Saturday night.”
And now look at the date on this paper- Thursday, March 26th. Making that previous Saturday having been March 21st, and the bodies were discovered on Sunday, march 22nd.
Tumblr media
The same March 22nd as Will’s birthday. This explains why Henry would want to erase that day- it was the day where shit hit the fan in his life.
EDIT FROM FUTURE ME: this is in the Edward timeline (this post was made before I figured out the Edward stuff, so where it says "henry," in this post, add "edward" . I also don't think that Henry or Edward wants to erase that day, that was just my first half awake guess at the time of posting this)

Warning: The First Shadow Spoilers Ahead!
In the First Shadow play we got to see the real perspective of the dinner scene where the Creels are massacred.
We see two versions of Henry. The real good one trapped in his mind by the Mindflayer, and the one controlled by the Mindflayer in the real world. We also see the Mindflayer hovering above the room as it is controlling everything that happened.

Me when Mike ends up actually having some kind of innate powers, and that’s how they reveal that Karen is the alternate timeline Creel sister (Virginia). Mike, being her son, would then technically be Henry/Edward’s nephew.
Me when it’s also revealed that El is Henry/Edward’s daughter via the lab, given that Terry was “unaware she was pregnant”…Which would make her technically Karen’s niece.
Me when…El with the wavy blonde hair…being Mike’s cousin…

Hey guys! Remember that movie where the detective gets multiple first-hand accounts about a crime scene including one FROM the perpetrator who is only able to be completely honest, this getting backstory at the same time?
Remember how the twist ended up being that the person holding herself responsible ended up being WRONG about that fact, thus revealing the real story? Haha that was a cool one I wonder if the ST wri-

Ok so there's a theme with bad mothers in stranger things being blonde: Chrissy's mom, Billy's mom, Virginia, and Karen. If there are any other blonde mothers that I've forgotten lemme know, these are just the ones I remember.
Chrissy's mom and Billy's mom are minor characters, so they're simple in their being bad mothers. Chrissy's mom gave her an eating disorder, calling her fat and things. In general, very very concerned about appearances.
Billy's mom abandoned him as a child, running away from her abusive husband and leaving Billy behind. While I can sympathize with her, leaving a child alone with a man you know is abusive to him is unjustifiable. So, concerned about herself, and not her child.
Virginia and Karen require more picking at to see what they are. I highly rec some of @aemiron-main's analyses on those two and their treatment of Henry and Mike respectively, but for the purposes of this post I'll give a concise summary.
Virginia thought her son was "broken", and tried to fix him. Her seeing spiders in a bathtub as her reflection is interesting, especially in the context of Henry calling spiders predators. Virginia saw a predator in the bathtub as a reflection of her crimes? That's a rather heavy-handed metaphor for sexually abusing Henry. This ties into his queer coding, so it was very possibly due to him being gay and her trying to fix him. Sexual abuse has always been a major part of conversion therapy after all. Thus, "fixing" Henry by violating him.
Karen is emotionally neglectful of Mike. She nitpicks his food and his interests, and doesn't go to him to comfort him when he's upset, and then says he can come to her when he needs her? She's rather concerned about appearances, about being a good nuclear family. Although she does care about her children, she tends to care more about what others might say.
So, we have emotional abuse from Chrissy's mom, emotional neglect from Karen, physical abuse from Virginia, and physical neglect from Billy's mom. Makes a bit of a set.
But, on Karen for a bit. She isn't actually a natural blonde. Rather, she died her hair blonde, likely so she would be "better" in society's eyes. Just like how her parenting style isn't out of lack of care for her children, but because she actually thinks she's helping them. This is a contrast to the other moms, who are natural blondes, and put themselves over their children. So, if she does become better in show, I wouldn't be surprised if she let her hair go back to brunette.

It literally 5am and it could just be because I haven't watched S4 in a while but are we 100% sure that the Creels died in 1959?
Like what I mean is that Victor says that it's been 14 years since war when they moved to Hawkins.
The war ended in 1945.
1945 + 14 = 1959.
But the newspaper @aemiron-main analyzed suggest or straight out say that the creels have been living in Hawkins for 2 years.
1959 + 2 = 1961.
Meaning that the murders happened later than we originally thought. I tried to read the year on the newspaper regarding the creel murders but no chance.
Am I just missing something/forgetting something that proofs that the murders happened in 1959 and not 1961?
Because that changes a lot.
Will was born 10 years after the murders and not 12.
The massacre happened 18 years and 6 month later.
Season 1 happened 22 years later.
Season 4 exactly 25 years later

It's Will's birthday today! 3/22!!🎉
Let's go over all the weird details regarding this special day.
First of all what do the numbers of his birthday add up to? 3 + 2 + 2 = 7. The number seven is where it all started. We know from season one that Will rolled a seven while playing DnD, but chose not to tell the whole party that his character lost against the demogorgan. But, he did choose to tell Mike after Lucas and Dustin leave, clueing the audience in from the beginning that these two have a significant bond.
Tumblr media
From the Wiki we know that Mike and Will met on the swings in 1976, but it doesn't mention the day. I've been wondering about this for a while, but recently i saw this super interesting post. Definitely check it out! They go into much more detail on this specific part and the meaning than I will here.
In season two when Mike tells Will "It was the first day of Kindergarten. I had no friends and I just felt so alone and scared..." American schools usually started after labor day up until the late 90s, so with that in mind the only day that could've been their first day of school was Tuesday, 9/7/1976. They met on the seventh.
The fact that the numbers of Will's birthday add up to equal seven really nails in how significant and important the number seven is and shows us more proof of byler endgame. They've been planning this from the beginning!
Now let's take a look at his playlist:
Tumblr media
3 hours and 22 minutes?? Clearly the writers didn't forget it was his birthday at Rink O' Mania if it keeps popping up everywhere.
Also at Rink O' Mania, the video camera used to film El shows that the date is March 22nd.
Tumblr media
They didn't have to add in that detail, they could've had the camera show any other date. There didn't even have to be a shot through the camera. Unless... Will's birthday, and everyone forgetting it is important to the plot? What a weird idea! Who would've guessed!
So why did everyone forget his birthday? Even his own mom!!?
This next part is loosely based on this post here.
Take a look at this newspaper:
Tumblr media
This paper was published on March 26th, 1959 which was a Thursday.
Tumblr media
The Creels were killed the week of the 22nd, Will's birthday. I couldn't find a picture sadly but in the "Bulletin" section of this newspaper it says “Local family man, Victor Creel, murdered his wife and two small children Saturday night.” Saturday was the 21st.
If Henry's family (excluding Victor Creel) were killed the night of the 21st, then he was probably taken to the lab sometime between then and dawn of the 22nd. So, it's an understatement to say that March 22nd, 1959 was a pretty shitty day for Henry. It was the day when everything terrible started to happen to him and his entire life tipped on it's head.
So it would make sense that Vecna would want to... erase this day, right? It's definitely possible that he tried to re-shape time for himself and remove this day from existence. Maybe, if Vecna altered with the 22nd it also messed up Will and his birthday, and his perception of time. This could be affecting or almost spreading to those around him also, everyone forgot his birthday and no one seems to have their perception of how much time has passed exactly right. Mike and Will argue over how "it's been a year" since the Byers moved but really, if they left in October of 1985 and Mike is visiting for spring break in March of 1986, it's only been 6 months. Not even a full school year.
Then we see Henry's villain arc come full circle in s4, with Henry/Vecna brutality murdering people. When do these murders start? The night of March 21st. Chrissy was killed that night in Eddie's trailer and her body was found the morning of the 22nd by Wayne Munson and the Hawkins Police Department.
Sound familiar? Chrissy's death follows an eerily similar storyline to the deaths of the Creels. She died on March 21st, in a violently grotesque way. Then, Eddie, the person who had witness her death is charged with murder and outcasted. Pretty similarly to Victor Creel and the death of Virginia & Alice if you ask me.
So what does all this mean?
If I had an direct answer I would tell you, but I don't know what all of this means yet either. The importance of March 21st/22nd here is pulling my brain into a pretzel lol. It's also strange that both of these numbers indirectly have something to do with seven. 3 + 2 + 2 = 7 and 21 is a multiple of seven. (Byler boyfriends destroy the upside down and save everyone confirmed?)
I also used an online calculator to find the distance in days, weeks, months, and years between 3/22/59, the day Henry was sent to the lab and Will's birthday, 3/22/71. but I didn't notice anything that suspicious.
Tumblr media
Plus I did not look into it that much yet, I'm tired and I had to leave for work :,)
Anyway, if you read this far into my brain dump I applaud you. 👏
And I'm definitely going to be examining more dates and numbers in this show because it is what I do for fun now I guess, so apologies in advance haha (oh my god a tv show is turning me into a math nerd HELP)

i know why will’s birthday is important to henry: birthdaygate analysis
One of the big questions i see with birthdaygate is WHY. WHY would henry do this? I think I know why. So, why is will’s birthday important to Henry? Well, because it’s the same date as the Creel murders/Henry going to the lab. Look at the newspaper below- It’s dated March 26th, 1959, and this was reported AFTER the murders occurred and Victor was at trial, so the murders occurred prior to the 26th, but not very long prior- likely four days/the night of the 21st and then news broke the 22nd.
Tumblr media
Why would henry want to erase that day? Because that was the night that resulted in him going to the lab, that was his first night at the lab, that was the day where the most horrible things in his life started to happen- he’s trying to bend time, change it, reshape the world. It’s the EXACT sort of day he’d want to erase out of existence.
And when did the murders in Hawkins start in S4? March 21st. The night of March 21st. I think that the night of March 21st was the Creel murders, and that the next day (Will’s birthday) was Henry’s first day at the lab. Hence why Henry would want to erase the night of the 21st/Will’s birthday- midnight on the 21st going into the 22nd would’ve been the Creel murders and the EXACT timing of when Henry was taken to the lab. It would have been the 22nd when he was at the lab.  Of course he wants to erase this day. And this may very well tie into WHY he went after Will in S1, I’m not sure how it ties together yet, but there’s something rattling in my brain.
EDIT FROM FUTURE ME: this is in the Edward timeline (this post was made before I figured out the Edward stuff, so where it says "henry," in this post, add "edward")

i’m kind of intrigued at how the creel family and the wheeler family mirror each other
henry wanted to show his parents who they really were. he wanted to pull back that curtain and show what was really behind it. henry’s parents wanted to be that perfect family that lived in a suburban house with their two kids as if they’re the ones who did life right. henry despised the lies. he despised the conformity. he found an unconventional bond with spiders, a creature many are fearful of. this new relationship allowed him to fully accept he was tired of pretending. hiding. lying. as he let go of trying to fit the mold his parents shaped for him, his father was naive and believed a demon had taken over their house. it revealed a reflection of who his father really was: a man pretending. a man who could never see what was in front of him because it was all just a show. but his mother? his mother knew it was him wreaking havoc in the house. how could she not? a mother is not able to pretend in the same way as the father as mothers are the ones expected to take on the full emotional brunt of their children. this led to doctors and his mother wanting to lock henry away to fix him as they believed he was broken. he didn’t allow them to though. he fought against their last attempted act of conformity.
mike’s home life to the outsiders looks like an achievement. they’re the model family that everyone looks at and wants what they have. because it looks good, doesn’t it? the nice suburban home, a long marriage, three kids, shopping at the nice stores. but, when you look behind that curtain, you see who the wheeler family really is. karen and ted have a lifeless marriage. karen, the forced representative of how the perfect wife should be, clings on to an inappropriate fantasy of being with the teenage pool boy. ted is a man who takes on the titles of “husband” and father”, but never actually partaking in those roles. the wheeler couple are just another husband and wife pretending. nancy secretly dreads the lineage of conformity because she witnesses it with her parents. she doesn’t want to be living in the suburban house at the end of the cul-de-sac letting societies expectations puppeteer her life. she breaks away from the identity projected on to her by being a bad-ass who is able to shoot a gun, write the story she wants to write, and be with the boy she’s in love with. jonathan is not the boy society expected her to be with. he’s an unconventional choice in the eyes of many. nancy’s breakthrough of her molded identity of who she should be became more of a struggle as sexism was trying to force her back in. karen saw how this upset nancy and was able to get nancy to open up to her. once again, a mother always knows. this shows the kids find comfort in karen at an arms length distance as she isn’t in the know about everything, but she knows her children better than ted. ted lacks the ability of seeing who his children really are because why would they be anything else other than what’s normal? mike is trying hard to be as normal as possible. but he’s growing tired of pretending. hiding. lying. mike lives by “friends don’t lie” and he’s known to get upset if he discovers a lie according to will. the fatigue of pretending to be someone else caught up to mike. his grasp with the hand of conformity is loosening as the days go on, especially since he joined hellfire club. he’s wearing the clothes he wants. he’s hanging around the people he wants. hanging around eddie— someone who is categorized as a satanic freak— was the stepping stone towards mike’s acceptance of who he really is. eddie’s entire being is a “fuck you” to conformity. unfortunately mike isn’t able to reveal all of who he is. he even tries to take a step back into his previous identity when he arrives to california. argyle calls him out for wearing a knock-off. it’s another item that’s been adopted into this game of pretend. it’s another glimpse of someone else who sees him for who he is. karen sees mike. she wants him to know he can tell her anything as she thinks maybe he has feelings for will and the suppression of it needs to be released. society’s homophobia keeps it locked in. society will make mike feel like he’s wrong. he’s broken. he needs to be fixed for being gay. luckily for mike he will able to fight the last battle of conformity with will by his side.
knowing all of this it does seem as if eddie was right when he said forced conformity is the real monster.
