The Stranger

Hey, guys. Merry Christmas!! So for Christmas I thought that I would post a new story..........that has a bit of horror in it. So yeah it’s not Christmas related but I may post one later this week that’s more christmasy. So I hope you guys enjoy it!!

The Stranger

One day on a snowy Halloween night there was a Priest in a church on his knees at the altar praying. This priest was a devoted man, he believed in every word that was written in the bible and never had a doubt about God. Why would he have any doubts about it, I mean he was  married to a beautiful woman and a father to two kids, the best things that God can provide. His entire family was religious, they said grace at every meal and prayed before they went to bed every night. So as you can see, he was a true believer and tried his best to not sin and tried to see every day as wonderful and never thought otherwise. That was until a stranger walked in the church. 

      As soon as he walked in the room started to heat up a bit. The priest looked at the man who was now sitting in one of the aisles and reading the Bible. The priest took notice of the man’s clothing, for the man was wearing a Black suit. The stranger was tall, about 6’5, he was a decent looking man and his curly short hair was as black as the night sky. The priest finished his prayer and got up to walk over to the man. When the priest got to the man he asked “May I help you my son?”. 

The man sighed, closed the Bible in his hand, didn’t look up at the Priest and said “May I ask Father, who is Lucifer?”  

The Priest looked at the man and sat next to him and said, “ Well, Lucifer was an archangel, to be specific the right hand of God. He was a beautiful man, he had golden hair and they say that he was the most powerful out of all of them.” 

The Stranger smiled at this, while still not looking at him. The Priest noticed this and asked, 

“ Son why won’t you look at me with your eyes?”

The stranger sat there for a bit thinking over response and finally said, “ People seem to be in a daze when they look at my eyes, but I don’t wish to do that to you Father. So this Lucifer, he sounds amazing, yet why do people have such disregard for him?”

The Priest looked down at the ground and said, “ Well, they do that because he did the most horrid thing imaginable, he tried to overthrow God, and because of that Lucifer was cast down to the pits of hell, so that he would burn for all eternity.”

“ But Father after all of this time, do people still think that he’s evil?”

“ Yes they do, because he is evil. Whenever someone does an evil act we know that it’s the work of Satan.” 

To this the stranger winced and clutched his hands. The Priest noticed this and said, “ What is it my son, was it something I said?”

“ It’s everything you said, calling him evil for no reason or evidence.”

“ I just speak the truth, he is an evil man, who can not be trusted, for he is the source of all evil.”

The man quickly stands up and looks at the Priest for the first time, showing the Priest his eyes, which are the most beautiful thing that he has ever seen.They shined like the night sky. The man says angrily, “ I have never forced or even told anyone to do the evil things that they did! They chose to do those things, yet they tell everyone that ‘the devil made me do it.' None of it is true!” The Stranger’s voice getting louder and louder.

   The priest was taken aback. The man noticed this, so he walked to the door and opened it. The priest was still standing there when the man said, “ I’m sorry, father. I guess dad was right, I guess I do have a temper” 

  The man went through the door and closed it behind him. The sound of the door closing echoed throughout the church. The priest, realizing that he had been holding his breath, took a deep breath, and look towards the door. Without another thought he then started to move and went to the door. He walked out of the church and noticed on the ground that there were footprints burned into it. He followed and when he reached the end of the trail, he noticed that it had stopped snowing in that one part of the park where there was a big, scorched, crater in the ground.
