“Happy birthday to me 🧚♀️ 🦷 This is the last year of my 20's and I plan to make it count.
Currently creating a beautiful show that encapsulates the last ten years of hard work and dedication to my creative vision. I am not the same person I was when I first started this story and thank the goddess for that growth. As a Taurean I've mastered the art of pivoting when needed to still get an idea across without compromising my artistic integrity, l've learned how to let things roll off my shoulders in a way that nourishes my peaceful spirit and l've become super in tune with my body & souls needs & desires. Grateful to continue creating art that reflects the world and for all the love / support you've shown me”
"Better of dead than stuck in a maze the center may seem like a gift, once you arrive I'll strip you of your life, and you'll wish that you never... did.."
Favourite "PORTALS" visual:
"SPIDER WEB" is my favourite "PORTALS" visual, ever since i heard the snippet of the song i knew this song was going to be my favourite song from all the songs in the album. I relate to the meaning of "SPIDER WEB" beucase Melanie said it's about being addicted to your phone. I honestly am addicted to my phone since it's the only way i can escape reality, if you get what i mean, but still "SPIDER WEB" has a special place in my heart, i just love it so much, the instrumental, the lyrics, everything. 🕷️🕸️🕯️🖤
this woman is so talented, smart, and brave. she decided to share her gift of song writing and singing to the world and actually use it for good. she sings about real would topics. she talks about racism, sexism, homophobia, and any type of political ideology that’s wrong with the world.
one of her most important and impactful words was the song mrs potato head. melanie makes the strangest music videos but her songs have actual messages.
here's some of the lyrics.
“don't be dramatic it's only some plastic, no one will love you if you're unattractive.”
“oh mrs. potato head tell me, is true that pain is beauty? does a new face come with the warrantee?”
“will a pretty face make it better?”
“oh mr. potato head tell me, how did you afford her surgery? do you swear you'll stay forever even if her face don't stay together?”
the point of this one song is to point out to little girls that mrs. potato head ( the so called "wife") is changing herself with plastic surgery so that her "husband" will love her. because he doesn’t love her for who she is so she obviously needs surgery to look like his ideal match, right?
well the surgery goes horribly wrong he doesn't stay with her and he gets a new "wife" or a woman to manipulate.
the point is you shouldn't have to change who you are or how you look to be loved by others or to love yourself melanie shows this in a kinda graphic way in the music video.
she always presents her music videos in weird ways but the songs themselves are beautiful and true to the message.
like the song mad hatter.
it teaches kids that being your self is okay, so what if you’re crazy the best people are. be yourself she tells people that she sees them, she head them.
“so what if i’m crazy the best people are.”
it’s just crazy to me she gets so much hate when she’s such a beautiful person inside and out. she cares and you know she cares.
she deserves so much more recognition it’s insane.
