National Brain Research Centre Admissions 2021 call has been announced. NBRC PhD & MSc Neuroscience Admission 2021 Notification is below, all of the eligibility criteria, application procedure, important dates, and more information has been given below:
NBRC conducts cutting-edge research in diverse areas of the interdisciplinary field of neuroscience. Visit faculty research pages on the NBRC website to get a flavour of ongoing work. If you are enthusiastic about a career in brain research, do consider joining our Ph.D. or M.Sc. (Neuroscience) programme.
NBRC PhD Admission 2021
Ph.D. (Neuroscience)
Given the fact that modern-day neuroscience is highly interdisciplinary in nature and relies on a spectrum of techniques spanning different disciplines, students from diverse academic backgrounds are encouraged to join NBRC and excel in neuroscience research. Ph.D. students come from vastly different backgrounds such as Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Engineering and Medical Sciences.
To gain an all-round perspective of neuroscience, you will undergo one year of coursework, where you will learn from molecular to computational neuroscience and everything in -between. You will also get an opportunity to rotate in various labs to get a closer look at the research work, and zero-in on what excites you the most.
All admitted candidates receive a Junior Research Fellowship of INR 31,000 per month + HRA (in lieu of hostel accommodation) for the first two years. After two years, you will be eligible for a Senior Research Fellowship of ₹ 35,000 per month + HRA (in lieu of hostel accommodation).
If you fulfill the minimum eligibility criteria, you can appear for one of the many different examinations to qualify for the Ph.D. admission interview. Click here to learn about the entrance examinations.

NBRC PhD Eligibility Criteria
A candidate seeking admission to the course of study leading to the award of Doctor of Philosophy should meet the following criteria :
Master’s degree or equivalent in any branch of Science such as Life Sciences / Physics / Chemistry / Mathematics / Statistics / Computer applications / Pharmacy / Veterinary Science / Psychology from a recognized Institute / University.
You are also eligible if you have completed a minimum of a four-year course leading to Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering / Technology / Medicine from a recognized Institute / University.
Candidates appearing for the final year of the qualifying examination are also eligible to apply.
At least 55% (50% for SC / ST / PH candidates) marks or an equivalent grade or grade point average from the secondary (10th) examination onwards is required.
Candidates should calculate their percentage up to two decimal points to determine their eligibility.
Recognized Entrance Exams for NBRC PhD Admission
Joint Graduate Entrance Examination for Biology and Interdisciplinary Life Sciences 2021 (JGEEBILS 2021) (To be held in March, 2021).
Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE- 2020/GATE-2021) in Physics / Chemistry / Mathematics / Electrical Engineering / Electronics and Communications Engineering / Computer Science and Information Technology / Instrumentation Engineering.
Joint Entrance Screening Test (JEST) (2021) (for Physics).
CSIR / UGC / DBT / ICMR examination for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) in Biology / Physics / Chemistry / Mathematics. Validity of the fellowship should be such that it can be activated on 31st August, 2021 or later.
UGC-NET Lectureship / JRF qualified on / after Dec 2018.
Based on their performance in any of the above qualifying examinations, candidates will be short-listed for interviews to be held at NBRC.
NBRC MSc Admission 2021
M.Sc. (Neuroscience)
This is a two-year programme. During the first year, Masters’s students at NBRC have to go through intensive course-work which provides them a firm grounding in molecular, systems, computational and cognitive neuroscience. Practical courses are also included for a hands-on experience with various techniques that are used in modern neuroscience research. In their second year, students select a lab to do a full-time research project. You might be eligible to switch to the Integrated M.Sc.-Ph.D. programme of NBRC after successfully completing the requirements for the M.Sc. programme. Click here for more information.
All the students are provided a fellowship of ₹ 12,000 per month.
If you fulfill the minimum eligibility criteria for admission to our M.Sc. programme, you need to appear for Joint Graduate Entrance Examination for Biology and Interdisciplinary Life Sciences 2021 (JGEEBILS 2021) (To be held in March 2021). Selected candidates will be called for an interview.

NBRC MSC Eligibility Criteria
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in any branch of Science such as Life Sciences / Physics / Chemistry / Mathematics / Statistics / Computer applications / Pharmacy / Veterinary Science / Psychology / Engineering / Technology / Medicine from a recognized Institute / University.
Candidates appearing for the final year of the qualifying examination are also eligible to apply

Joint Graduate Entrance Examination for Biology and Interdisciplinary Life Sciences 2021 (JGEEBILS 2021) (To be held in March 2021).
M.Sc. programme candidates will be screened through JGEEBILS only.
Candidates will be short-listed for a two-tier interview based on their performance in the JGEEBILS examination.

Payment Procedure
For those applying online:
The online applicants should submit the application fee through ‘SB Collect’ of State Bank of India, the weblink for which will be available in the last step of the online application process.
For those applying offline (by post/courier):
The application fee should be submitted by a Demand Draft drawn in favour of Director, National Brain Research Centre payable at Gurgaon or Manesar.
Please write your name and programme applied for on the back of the Demand Draft. Also mention your Reference Code / Registration No. / Roll No. for the qualifying JGEEBILS / JEST / GATE / UGC-NET LS or the JRF (CSIR / UGC / DBT / ICMR) examination.
GATE and JRF / LS candidates should also mention the year of the examination on the back of the demand draft.
Send the completed application along with the demand draft to the Registrar, National Brain Research Centre, Manesar-122052 Dist. Gurgaon (Haryana).
Note:
No application fee will be applicable for such JRF / LS candidates who have applied/are applying through JGEEBILS / JEST / GATE channels. However, they need to fill in a separate application form to be considered in both channels.

How to Apply
The Candidates can apply for admission to Ph.D. or M.Sc. (Neuroscience) programmes at National Brain Research Centre (NBRC) either Online or Offline.
The last Date of application from all channels, both Online and Offline, must receive at NBRC by 31st March 2021.
For Applying Online
For the Online application form click the ‘Apply Online Tab’ and select the channel.
Online applicants should pay the application fee through ‘SB-Collect’. Click the pdf icon to know how to make payment through SB Collect.
By Post / Courier (Offline)
NBRC prefers online applications. However, if you do not have reliable access to internet or for any other reason wish to send an application by post / courier, NBRC will accept your application.
You must obtain application form from NBRC by sending a self-addressed A-4 size envelope to the Registrar, National Brain Research Centre, Manesar-122052 Dist. Gurgaon (Haryana) with a cover note mentioning the following:
The programme to which you wish to apply.
The channel JGEEBILS/JEST/GATE/JRF (CSIR/UGC/DBT/ICMR)/UGC-NET LS through which you wish to apply if you are applying for Ph.D. programme.
The last date for receipt of requests for the offline application form from NBRC is 1st March 2021.
Offline applicants can submit the application fee by a Demand Draft drawn in favour of Director, National brain Research Centre payable at Gurgaon or Manesar. Send the Demand Draft and complete application form to the Registrar, National Brain Research Centre, Manesar-122052 Dist. Gurgaon (Haryana). M.Phil: A candidate will be eligible to supplicate for M.Phil. degree only if he has undergone regular course work prescribed by the University.
A candidate seeking admission to M.Phil. Course must satisfy the following academic criteria and shall apply on a prescribed form to the Head of the Department concerned on the dates to be notied by the University.
Pre-requisite for admission to M. Phil.: Master’s degree in the concerned/allied subjects (as determined by the Departmental Research Board).

Candidates who have passed C.A./I.C.W.A./Company Secretary Examinations are eligible for getting registered for Ph.D. Degree.
Note: For doing Ph.D. in the Science Departments the candidate should have passed regular M. Sc. degree from U.G.C. recognised University. Candidates with M.Sc. through Distance Education will not be eligible for admission to Ph.D. degree in the Science Departments.
Admission Procedure for Punjabi University MPhil Phd Admission 2019
Candidates who have qualified UGC-CSIR NET (JRF)/SLET (Punjab State)/GATE/GPAT examinations. The Holders of teacher fellowships. Direct Awardees of Fellowships from Govt. Agencies like DBT/DST/ICMR/ ICAR/INSPIRE/RGNF/MANF fellowships. (Students appointed in the project sponsored by above agencies are not exempted from Entrance Test)
The admission to M.Phil. and Ph.D. Program during the academic session 2018-2019 will be made on the basis of common Entrance Test conducted by Punjabi University, Patiala.
The Qualifying marks in the Entrance Test will be 50% for the M.Phil and Ph.D. Program. A relaxation of 5% marks would be given to SC/ST/Physically handicapped candidates.
Entrance Test Scheme
The question paper for the entrance test will consist of two sections.
The section A will consist of 50 objective/multiple choice questions of Research Methodology and Section B will consist of 50 objective/multiple choice questions from the syllabus of the particular subject.
Each question will carry one mark.
There is no negative marking

Application Procedure
Application-cum-Admission-Forms for admission to various courses offered by Punjabi University Patiala (Patiala Campus and its Regional and Neighbourhood Campuses) for the year 2019-20 will be processed through the Online system portal
Step-1. Registration Procedure
Open www.pupadmissions.ac.in
Select the Course Category in which you seek admission
Fill the Registration Form Online – kindly fill your particulars as Name, Father’s Name, Date of Birth, Category (SC/ST or General and all others), Mobile No., e-mail address, etc.
Make payment using one of the following mode:
1. Online Debit/Credit Card/ Net Banking
2. Pay-in-slip of State Bank of India
3. Punjabi University Cashier Receipt (Only at Patiala Campus Cash counter)
NOTE: In case of b and c take a printout of the Pay-in-slip and deposit the amount in any branch of the concerned bank/ University Cashier. You will be issued User Id and Password (through SMS) only after confirmation of your payment by Centralized Admission Cell. No need to send the Pay in-Slip to Centralized Admission Cell, but in case User Id and Password are not received within 48 hours, send the scanned copy of Pay-in-slip (in case c)/University Cash Receipt along with Payment Receipt (in case d) through email at [email protected].
Note down your User id for future use. This completes your registration process subject to payment confirmation. To fill your application form please refers to step 2.
Step-2 Fill Online Application Form
Open www.pupadmissions.ac.in and open the Application Form by logging on Apply button in the concerned course category using your User Id generated at the end of successful registration or Proceed from Registration Step.
Fill the Application Form Online and provide information regarding your academic record, reservation category, etc.
After completion of the Application Form click on SAVE button.
Step-3 Edit Your Application Form
The registered candidates can edit information filled by them in the Application Form for limited period using User id and password issued to them.
Once the Application Fee payment status is confirmed you will be issued User Id and Password. The intimation about this will be made through SMS/e-mail alerts.
Candidates making payment using Online Net Banking option or Credit/ Debit Card options will be issued User Id and Password immediately after confirmation of the payment by the gateway.
Candidates making payment using Pay-in-slip for SBI or Punjabi University Patiala Cashier Fee Receipt will be issued User Id and Passwords only after confirmation of their payment by Centralized Admission Cell. In case no password is received within 48 hours, contact Centralized Admission Cell.
Step-4 Print the Form
Registered candidates whose payment has been confirmed and who have successfully completed step 2, can print their application forms for their personal record, using User Id and Password.

National Agri-Food Biotechnology Institute (NABI) is an autonomous Institute under the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India. Essential qualification: Ph.D./MD/MS/MDS or equivalent degree in Life Sciences or having 3 years of research, teaching and design and development experience after MVSc/ M.Pharm/ME/M.Tech with at least one research paper in Science Citation Index (SCI) journal. (Eligibility criteria as DST OM No.SR/S9/Z-08/2018 dated 30.01.2019.
Desired Experience: Experience in plant or agricultural biotechnology, plant tissue culture, rice or any other crop plant transformation, genome editing, genomics/bioinformatics.
