You know you're cooked when you're counting on Vijay Shankar to hit the boundaries🤓
Why is csk being so lazy like they don't want to play someone's forcing them to😐
My dad literally said: ‘These guys are dropping Vijay Shankar so much because they know if he is on the crease DC will will easily”
it is high time for the top order to start hitting, otherwise the entire season for CSK won’t look good. Maybe Rutu and Conway should open? They are the IPL winning openers, and I think Rachin may manage at number 3 I guess. But CSK needs to sort out their top order fiasco and quick.

Do you think it's really Dhoni's last match today?
What I think is that we should stop speculating and just enjoy the game and him playing this game. He would retire when he wants and he himself has said it countless times, if he is denying all the rumours then why are we believing everyone but him? And answering your question, no, I don't think so, he's somehow still performing better than half our batsmen (though today's performance was disappointing), wicketkeeping for 20 overs (quite brilliantly so), and his leadership and field awareness is priceless. So rn I'm more worried about csk's performance rather than Mahi's retirement.

Yeah, I couldn't agree more. Only that they were hoping to pay to keep his fame when they didn't really want to use him? I don't get it at all honestly.
^^ Just saw you answer asks about the Yash vs Royals situation going on in the IPL, and came here to say actually RR were wicked smart with the timing of their snub to Yash. It does seem like Yash would want to leave after he was promised captaincy then denied it, but trust me, he won't. At least not this year. I'll explain why.
Okay, first of all, yes you're right that Yash is currently RR's only big-name player and going forward, he'd be their best crowd-puller and money-maker, so RR can't afford to offend him much. I don't think RR will tread on his toes any further either, the captaincy drama has upset him enough. But the timing of the snub is such that Yash can't really do much but grind his teeth and tolerate it at this point.
So the IPL works in the way that there's a mega auction every 3 years, during which every team is allowed to retain only a limited amount of players, the rest of the squad is dismantled and rebuilt through the players you buy in the auction. In the next three years, you're supposed to persist with the majority of your squad, there's a limit on the amount of players you can release. Mini auctions, which occur annually for 3 years after the mega auction, thus have smaller player pools, franchises have smaller purses, and overall less players are bought compared to the mega auction.
If Yashasvi left RR and went under the hammer during the 2025 mega auction, I have no doubt he would've won big there. But I'm not so sure about the mini auction. Sure, Yash is a great batsman, but he's an opener. Almost all the IPL teams have their opening combinations set. RCB just won the IPL, they're not going to change their batting order anytime soon, especially not when one of their openers is Kohli. GT struck gold with their opening trio of Sai, Shubman and Jos. The only teams who struggled with their opening combinations were KKR and CSK, so the most Yash can hope for is getting picked up by one of them in the upcoming mini auction.
There are a few teams whose number 3s did not perform great and they might be looking for replacements in the mini-auction, but I can't see Yash agreeing to bat at a position that's not his first choice.
But even if KKR and CSK express interest in buying him, he'd likely have to settle for lesser money than he is receiving at RR. Generally, players earn more when they put their names for the mega auction, because teams have bigger purses and more spots open then. During mini auctions, less teams are likely to be interested, and they don't have as big of a purse they had in the mega auction. So Yash would likely have to resign himself to a pay cut if he enters himself for the mini auction.
On top of that, Yash has captaincy ambitions, and for most franchises that is a dealbreaker because they're pretty set with their captains. Especially since Yash has no previous captaincy experience, at youth, domestic or franchise levels, an IPL team is very unlikely to offer him the captaincy. RCB won't sack their captain just after winning the IPL. Shub just led GT to the playoffs. PBKS and MI also reached the qualifiers under their respective captains. LSG aren't going to let Rishabh go despite his poor season, not after they paid millions for him. SRH would be silly to sack Cummins, an international captain. CSK have Ruturaj, DC just appointed a new captain in Axar, they won't sack him after just one season. KKR had a horrible season, but likely they'll persist with their captain, Rahane, since he was in good personal touch. Plus, Rahane and Jaiswal have beef, so even if KKR are in need of an opener, these two might not want to play alongside each other, especially under each other's captaincy.
Plus, Yash seems like he wants to be the sole star of whatever franchise he's in, so that narrows his prospects terribly, since almost all franchises already have their select star players around whom their marketing campaigns revolve. Yash would have to content himself with being in their shadow if he moves from RR. At least at RR, he's the face of the brand, which he might not get if he goes elsewhere.
So there you have it: If Yash really wants to leave RR and enter himself for the mini auction, he would either have to compromise on his pay, his opening position, or his captaincy. Honestly, I think he'll have to compromise on the captaincy irrespective of whether he goes or stays bc as I mentioned, most franchises are already firm on who their captains are. And well, if he's leaving for the captaincy and there's no guarantee he'll get it elsewhere, he'd be smart enough to stay where he is.
So RR have technically got Yash right where they want him. As of now, they're giving him a great pay, his favoured opening position, and most importantly, they're making him the centre of their marketing and ad campaign, which no other franchise will probably offer him. If he wants all that, his best bet is to stay at RR. Rejecting him the captaincy was never as big of an insult as it was painted, because even if Yash left RR, the way team combinations are as of now, it doesn't seem likely he'll get the captaincy at any other franchise either.
And actually, the deal between Yash and RR was about the vice-captaincy. The thing with Riyan getting the captaincy cropped up only because Samson, the original captain got injured. Otherwise, Samson would've captained throughout the IPL, and neither Yash nor Riyan would've gotten a whiff of the captaincy.
So what RR will do is try and pacify Yash with the vice-captaincy, since that was the deal agreed upon. He was never getting the captaincy ahead of Samson. And then they keep their fingers crossed that Samson manages to remain fit for the whole season. It's not great for Yash, but he'll take it, because if he goes to another franchise, he might have to compromise upon one of batting position, money, or stardom. At least at RR he's only having to compromise upon captaincy, which he's not sure of getting anywhere else either. 3/4 is a better deal than 2/4.
Maybe 3 years down the line, when the next mega auction approaches, Yash will leave RR because by that time, he would have greater stats than now, more experience, plus he'd probably wield more clout as he becomes a mainstay in all the international teams. Then RR as well as other franchises might be willing to give him the captaincy. But for the short-term, his best option looks like staying at RR.

Top 10 Greatest IPL Matches of All Time That Fans Will Never Forget
The Indian Premier League (IPL) is more than just a cricket tournament—it's a spectacle where emotions, drama, and raw talent collide. Over the years, the league has delivered countless thrilling moments that have kept fans glued to their screens. Among those, a few matches have gone down in history as unforgettable classics. Here's a look at the top 10 greatest IPL matches of all time that fans will always remember.
1. MI vs RR, 2014 – The Impossible Chase
In a match that had everything, Mumbai Indians needed to chase down 190 in 14.3 overs to qualify for the playoffs. Corey Anderson unleashed one of the most brutal innings ever, scoring 95 off 44 balls. But the real twist came when Aditya Tare smashed a six on the final ball to clinch qualification. It was chaos, joy, heartbreak, and drama packed into one game.
2. CSK vs RCB, 2012 – The 45-Ball Mayhem
When RCB posted a mammoth 205 thanks to Chris Gayle’s fireworks, the match seemed sealed. But what followed was an MS Dhoni masterclass in belief and a whirlwind 45-ball 83 by Albie Morkel that turned the tide. CSK chased it down in the last over, proving why they were one of the most feared sides.
3. RR vs KKR, 2014 – A Super Over Drama
One of the rare matches where the drama extended beyond 40 overs. Both teams ended with 152, forcing a Super Over. The game went down to the wire again, and Rajasthan Royals held their nerve better, clinching a last-ball win. It was cricket at its nail-biting best.
4. CSK vs KXIP, 2010 Semi-Final – The Comeback Kings
With CSK on the brink of elimination, needing to beat KXIP convincingly, the team delivered a stunning performance. Chasing a strong total, Dhoni’s thunderous 54 off 29 balls sealed the win with two balls to spare. His roaring celebration still gives fans goosebumps.
5. RCB vs LSG, 2023 – Stoinis and Pooran’s Madness
RCB’s 212 looked massive. But Marcus Stoinis and Nicholas Pooran had other plans. Pooran’s 19-ball fifty set the tone for a thrilling chase, and after a flurry of wickets, LSG sneaked a one-wicket win on the final ball. Pure IPL drama.

6. MI vs CSK, 2019 Final – The One-Run Thriller
Arguably the most gripping final ever. With just 150 to defend, MI’s bowlers kept chipping away, and Lasith Malinga’s ice-cold last over sealed a one-run win. CSK needed two off the final ball—Malinga bowled a perfect slower delivery. It was heartbreak for one side and jubilation for the other.
7. SRH vs RCB, 2016 Final – The Underdog Triumph
Sunrisers Hyderabad stunned the heavyweights RCB with a complete team performance. David Warner led from the front, and despite a fiery Gayle-Kohli opening stand, SRH held their nerve. It was a final that showcased the unpredictable beauty of cricket.
8. KKR vs CSK, 2018 – Russell’s Power Show
Andre Russell turned a middling chase into a cakewalk with sheer muscle. Coming in with KKR in trouble, he bludgeoned 88* off just 36 balls. It was a match that defined brute strength and momentum swings.
9. RCB vs PBKS, 2016 – ABD & Kohli Show
The duo of Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers unleashed chaos on the Chinnaswamy crowd, both smashing centuries in a partnership of 229 runs. It was dominance, elegance, and friendship on display—a match that fans still talk about with awe.
10. DC vs CSK, 2021 – Pant vs Dhoni
This one was a master vs apprentice battle. Rishabh Pant led DC with flair, but MS Dhoni, in typical fashion, sealed the chase in the last over with vintage finishing. It was a symbolic passing of the torch, even as Dhoni reminded everyone of his legacy.
These matches are more than stats and scorecards—they’re emotional roller coasters that live rent-free in fans’ memories. Every season, the IPL promises magic, but these ten games are etched in history as truly unforgettable.

Note
I think they made a mistake by not playing Nathan Ellis this game. It was a afternoon game and the wicket was on a slower side. I think his bowling would have done wonders on this wicket.
I have watched a lot of Ellis in the Big Bash and he is a proper T20 bowler with lots of variations. CSK needs to find a way to fit him in the line-up. Atleast at Chepauk once the wicket deteriorates a bit in the later part of the season.
See I personally think that our playing XI was pretty decent, one of the best we could get but we didn't have that rhythm or intent clear. As for Ellis, I do agree that he would be very helpful for our squad especially with his variations (though I wpuld confess that I have not watched much of him, I only started pating attention after the auction as I don't watch BBL) but the question is who should we substitue?? I reckon impact player rule could be of use but we really do need to go back to the drawing board and assess the situation because if someone like Nathan Ellis is on the bench while the team is falling apart especially in such favourable conditions, it's a huge concern over squad selection and management.

Most Valuable Player (MVP) Contenders in IPL 2025
1. Virat Kohli – Royal Challengers Bengaluru
Kohli has returned to vintage form this season. Anchoring the innings with poise and aggression, he's been the heartbeat of RCB’s top order. His ability to pace a chase or accelerate when needed has been critical, and his fitness allows him to convert ones into twos regularly, contributing even when not hitting boundaries. What makes him a strong MVP contender isn’t just the runs, but the leadership and intent he brings in every match.
2. Jasprit Bumrah – Mumbai Indians
Bumrah is redefining death bowling yet again. His control, accuracy, and ability to pick wickets at crucial moments have made him nearly unplayable. He’s kept opposition batters guessing with slower balls, yorkers, and sharp bouncers. In a season where bowlers have had to work hard on flat pitches, Bumrah’s economy and strike rate stand out. He’s a match-winner with the ball, and Mumbai leans on him heavily in pressure situations.
Read More: Rajasthan Royals IPL 2025 Schedule
3. Ruturaj Gaikwad – Chennai Super Kings
Quietly consistent and stylish at the top of the order, Ruturaj has blossomed into a dependable opener. His timing and composure have helped CSK build solid starts, and he’s played a few match-defining innings under pressure. Not only is he scoring runs, but he’s also doing it with a maturity that stands out. As he grows into a leadership role within CSK, his all-round contribution makes him a dark horse in the MVP race.
4. Sunil Narine – Kolkata Knight Riders
Narine is having one of those seasons where everything clicks. Back as an opener and still effective with the ball, he’s delivering value in both departments. With the bat, he’s explosive in the powerplay, giving KKR quick starts. With the ball, his mystery spin continues to bamboozle even the best. Add a few sharp catches and run-outs to the mix, and Narine is easily among the top MVP contenders.
5. KL Rahul – Lucknow Super Giants
Rahul’s been in sublime touch this season. He’s been scoring consistently while also playing the anchor role to perfection. His ability to shift gears, depending on the match situation, gives LSG flexibility in their batting approach. Add to that his sharp captaincy and safe pair of gloves behind the stumps, and Rahul’s value to his team becomes obvious. If LSG makes the playoffs, Rahul’s all-around contribution will be a big reason why.
6. Andre Russell – Kolkata Knight Riders
Russell, when fit and firing, is always in the MVP conversation. This season, he’s found a balance between brute force and measured aggression. With the ball, he’s chipped in with crucial breakthroughs, often in the middle overs or death. His six-hitting ability remains unmatched, and no game feels truly over when Russell is at the crease. KKR’s late flourish owes much to his explosive finishing.
7. Rashid Khan – Gujarat Titans
Even when batters try to play him out safely, Rashid finds a way to make an impact. His control, economy, and knack for picking up wickets at vital moments keep him relevant in every match. Add his useful cameos with the bat and electric fielding, and it’s clear why he remains one of the most complete players in the league.
Final Word
The MVP award isn’t just about statistics—it’s about presence, influence, and moments that define games. With a packed schedule ahead, consistency and clutch performances will determine who claims the title. As the tournament nears its climax, these contenders are not just chasing personal glory, but pushing their teams toward greatness. The race is on, and it's wide open.

📅 IPL 2025 Schedule – What’s Hot?
1. More Weekend Double-Headers
Fans are loving the weekend matchups. With double-headers almost every Saturday and Sunday, there’s non-stop action. This also means double the fantasy opportunities. Smart fantasy users are using these days to enter more contests and pick explosive players.
2. High-Voltage Clashes
The ipl match schedule features all the fan-favorite rivalries:

😕 What’s Not So Hot in the IPL 2025 Full Schedule?
1. Tight Travel for Some Teams
Fans of teams like Punjab Kings and Rajasthan Royals feel their team has been handed a tough draw, with quick travel between matches. This could lead to player fatigue and rest days—something fantasy users must watch out for.
2. Some Matches Start Too Early
A few weekday matches start as early as 3:30 PM. Fans at work or college may miss them live. But fantasy users know that match previews like this one help you plan ahead: 👉 Delhi vs Gujarat IPL 2025 Match Prediction & Fantasy Tips

When to Expect a Fast Century?
Small grounds (like Chinnaswamy or Wankhede)
Flat pitches with no dew
Weak bowling lineups
Power-hitters like Buttler, Gill, or Ruturaj in form
