🚨 MOVIE ALERT: 🚨
Satoshi Kon's Paprika and Tokyo Godfathers are both free to watch legally on YouTube right now!
Tumblr media
Paprika is a surrealist action film about dreams that inspired Inception. It is absolutely excellent (although I strongly recommend you check the content and rating to make sure it's something you're comfortable with; they rated this R for a reason).
Tokyo Godfathers i haven't seen yet, but it's about this group of homeless people who find an abandoned baby on Christmas Eve. It is apparently very sweet and I'm looking forward to watching it!
Kon's other films include Millennium Actress and Perfect Blue.
Millennium Actress is phenomenal as well (and is available to watch on Crunchyroll right now) - it's a very cool surreal retelling of a fictional famous actress' life, and a meditation on how love drives us. (A few more thoughts on it on a different alt here.)
Perfect Blue I haven't seen yet, but I've heard it's amazing and also horrifying; and I've heard that like with Paprika:Inception it directly inspired one or two popular live action Western movies. As far as I can see, right now you'd have to rent it to watch it.
Anyway, go forth and jump into some great anime!

Edit: someone reminded me I can just put a link, so here you go. I'm not deleting the how-to stuff, because I'm lazy, lmao.
Anyway, link is here
I have found a place where I (an American) can legally watch Doctor Who classic for free! Thought I'd share it!
I don't know if it has the missing episodes that have been redone, but it has all of the of her episodes as well as the movies.
Edit: It has an unaired pilot and bonus videos of different things. Will edit more as I find out more.
There's a website, Internet Archive, and I've found where the BBC has released them by season!
For those who need it, under the cut is just how to get to it!
You need an account on Internet Archive, but they're free.
Once you're logged in, you can get to all the seasons if you first search up "Doctor Who Classic Season 1," which should being up the first season,of course.. Then you click that.
Tumblr media
Then scroll down a little and click the "British Broadcasting Corporation" hyperlink below the video.
Tumblr media
Then you'll be brought to all the stuff they've put out.
Go to the left of the screen to the filters and go to the "media type" filter and click "movies" (which really means video).
Tumblr media
It'll reload with that filter applied and once it's done that, go back to filters and filter by "subject" and click the "doctor who" filter.
Tumblr media
And then you'll have them! The seasons are out of order, but they're all there.
I don't know if missing episodes that have been recreated are on there. But the rest definitely is.
So, it should look like this!
Tumblr media
And then just find the season you want, pick the episode you want, and watch the show!

Are many of the animes here on crunchyroll? Or netflix? I know a bunch are but I also wonder if it's a good suggestion list ^^
Considering the numerous times I had to find alternate trailers because a lot of Crunchroll’s YouTube videos are blocked in my country… yes, a lot of the shows are on Crunchyroll. A few are on Netflix, and some are on Funimation.
As for donghua (Chinese anime), most can only be watched legally through Iqiyi or Bilibili. For the latter, it might be hard to access when you don’t understand Chinese. But fret not, these two also have official YouTube channels, so you can try checking there too.
While I’m at this, I might as well just list the sites where you can watch certain donghua...
Are You Ok - Iqiyi
Beryl and Saphire - Bilibili
God Troubles Me - Bilibili. I think some seasons are also on the official Bilibili YouTube channel
Legend of Luo Xiaohei - There are no official subs, but there are numerous fansubs on YouTube. The Legend of Hei prequel movie is on Crunchyroll, though. (Please watch the movie in Chinese… They literally translated the characters’ names to English in the dub, and it’s so cringe 😭)
Link Click - Funimation (S1 only), and Crunchyroll and Bilibili (both seasons). Link Click S1 official subs were awful, though, so I suggest looking into fansubbed versions. I think there are 2-3 different fansubs for it.
No Doubt in Us - Bilibili, Netflix
White Cat Legend - Bilibili, and I think YouTube too. @whitecatlegend also made some good fansubs for S2
Wo Jia Dashixiong Naozi You Keng - Bilibili
This is not a comprehensive list, btw. Just listing what I know off the top of my head.
As for aeni (Korean anime)… I’m not as familiar. There doesn’t seem to be any legal way to watch Mignon at the moment because of issues the creator had with Vimeo, but I could be wrong… Another aeni is Flowering Heart, and a quick search says it’s officially available on YouTube.
Trese, the lone Filipino anime on the list, is available on Netflix.

How the heck do I get caught up with this without watching 150 hours of random livestreams across 5 different websites? I'm really intrigued, I just dunno where to start
I recommend watching the videos on YouTube to start; Luxintrus, doctor4t, Winsweep & TalonMC all have videos on CSMP! From there, if you want more, check out the VOD channels/archives of our streaming members; the ones mentioned above + SillviaTV & KodaConstellation
Hope this helps! - The Intern

Honestly I WANT to watch Dreaming of a Freaking Fairy Tale but it’s not on my streaming services in the US! So if anyone has a way, please advise. And thank you for your efforts.
I'm here to help anon!
You can watch it illegally on dramacool or dramanice (dot) la (that's where I watch it! I recommend installing a free pop up blocker AND ad blocker (I use chrome so i just searched for those in the extensions). I know it's annoying to do that, but it will make watching your favorite dramas so so easy and enjoyable!
My brain has been stuck here since yesterday:

where are you watching Walker I need to get on this and Amazon primes charging me like £15 a season ... please
hi @samss-lost-shoe
I am re-running Walker on Popcorn time (not sure how legit this is, please don't come at me) but you could check it out. It has all 4 seasons.
Before this, I watched the entire show on JioCinema premium subscription. Not sure if this is available in your country though. Again, worth checking.
This is the only place i could still find it. It used to be on Amazon Prime but it's no longer available in my country.
Hope this helps! :) Thanks for the ask!

There are finally official subtitles for Holding Achilles! Available if you rent it on the QPAC digital stage site.
(Apologies for the blurry photos, we're watching on the tv so I can't screenshot.)

I have a question:
Can anyone tell me where I can watch Big mood if I don't live in the UK ? I live in Germany.
I‘m a big fan of Nicola Coughlan and I’ve been wanting to watch Big Mood for a while but can’t find anything online on where to watch it.
I would be very grateful if someone could help me. :)

Can anybody tell me where I can find the anime "Wolf Children" ?
I saw a preview for it once when I was a kid on one of my DVDs and was just memorized by the art style and the idea of a human mother deliberately trying to wrangle up her seemingly human children all while they turn into wolves and run laps around her.
I remember one scene in the preview very vividly. One of the kids was climbing on a dresser for some reason or another and it just collapsed on top of them and while the mother dove to save them, they were already bolting out the door in their wolf form having the time of their lives
I really would love to watch it in full since I've already watched Howl's Moving Castle(though admittedly through separate parts on TikTok) and now I'm just wondering on if this anime can be found anywhere or if it was just an indie film bound to be cast away to the wind(I hope not. Because it looked EXTREMELY entertaining and I would love to continue to find animes like this and Ponyo and all the classics in order to fuel my inner child)
Thank you!
