A very sketchy Curaga piece from March, based on a request for a sleepy Sephiroth. Like sleepy Vincent before him, the vibe is…different than originally intended. Happy with it, though.

I've been too busy to post anything because of zine stuff, but I can post August's Curaga requests now so here we are!

Lantern festival Strifesodos (actually implied valenstrifesodos, muahaha); everything on this one was really fun, from designing the lanterns to the reflected color in the lighting to sneaking Vincent in at a the last minute. Super happy with this one.

Realizing that I ship Genesis with a pretty broad selection of very different characters. I wouldn't call him my fandom bicycle, because I do have two specific ships that I vastly prefer for his endgame, but I do respect the fact that he reads like the kind of character who has a lot of game and isn't afraid to use it.

(Also really pleased that you can literally see my progress in utilization of contrast in monochrome work through these pieces, since they wound up placed in reverse chronological order. I get pretty down on my work, but it is nice to be able to see that I've improved.)

Another June Curaga piece—there were a lot of Genesis requests in June, for obvious reasons. Genesis and Sephiroth have a Stardew Valley farm!

Genesis was canonically raised in an agricultural area—friendly reminder that his greatest achievement was developing a product that would allow his region's main crop to be internationally exported! He's secretly a farm boy and always has been, so he's obviously fine with this.

Sephiroth, however, was raised in the largest city on the planet and has never seen a live chicken in his life, much less touched one, and thus he has…issues.

A Curaga request from April—fun and silly ValenStrifesodos. "Vincent in a pair of Genesis' tracksuit pants; the result is offscreen Cloud and Genesis going ZOOM EYES while Vincent just stands there going '????' (he's freeballin'.)"

I had to get the offscreen bit onto the screen somehow, even if the result was very silly.

Curaga request from June. Sephiroth and Genesis Rhapsodos on deployment, sometime in the late 90s. Soft and sleepy and in love (thank you very much). Also my current favorite piece of Sephesis art that I've ever drawn, so I'm pretty thrilled to finally be able to share it.

A Curaga piece from May, I'm posting this at a time appropriate to the time zone of the person it was drawn for, partially so they'll see it right away and partially because I have been vibrating with the urge to share this with the world since I finished it a month ago.

Another Curaga request from June—even more Genesis! Postcanon, catching up with Tseng, not flirting at all. Really. They're both spoken for, why would anyone be flirting? It's fine. It's fine. (Had a good time sneaking in background Tseeve and…whatever Vincent/Genesis is called. VinGen? Valensodos? Vinesis. It's called Vinesis.)

This one was super fun all around because it gives a really different sense of scale than usual for these two. Genesis usually looks on the smaller side because of who he hangs out with; conversely, Tseng usually looks like he's on the larger side because of the company he keeps, when he keeps any at all. But Genesis is at least 6' tall and built like a SOLDIER. Tseng is…not either of those things. Next to each other, the framing is really different!

Last Curaga piece from May! Vincent Valentine and Veld, gardening. (Please appreciate Vincent's ridiculous sunhat, he is trying his best. It’s just too bright out!)

VinVeld has been my favorite ship of all time since around 2006—even if I haven't shown it recently, that hasn't changed.

Another Curaga piece from May, this time featuring a sleepy Vincent and moody lighting. Had a lot of fun with this one, and although it's off from the request (which was for a cute sleepy Vincent, this is not at all cute and I'm terribly sorry) I'm still happy with it as a piece.

Curaga request from July! Strifentine in a very specific "present day" flavor referred to affectionately as The Combini AU. Cloud works at a convenience store (hence, combini) and Vincent is picking him up after work because they have a date.

The AU in question and this request are the brainchild of one of my best friends, whose birthday is today! (Well, it was yesterday in their time zone, but it's today in mine!) This seemed like the right time to post it publicly, considering.
