have you seen secret restoration? it's a show about fixing up old items to surprise the people who own them. it's not all about animatronics obviously, but episode three has a coin operated fortune teller that i think is pretty neat, and there's a shot of what looks like a cyberamic bot in the intro! (as far as i can tell it hasn't actually been featured in any of the episodes they've aired so far, but presumably it will be in the future, so im really curious to see it when it is!)

So they actually turned the band into a set of horses, to my surprise!

Gonna be honest, the zebra creeps me out a bit (the face just looks weird?), but these are still neat! I know their show was programmed by Jared of The King Robot channel; I'm unsure if he worked on anything else since the episode is locked behind a subscription online. :( Here's their showtape being performed by The King!

New world record set for the cheesiest day of all time!

In case anyone was curious, the locations shown are:

1 Stage: Milwaukee, WI

Studio C Alpha: Crystal Lake, IL

Studio C Beta: Gurnee, IL

Milwaukee and Gurnee are both due to be 2.0ed by the end of the month so go ASAP if you can! As you can probably tell, the 16m bot at the Gurnee location is non-operational (and none of the lights on the Studio C setup are functioning, but they still have avenger era exterior signage and nothing but 2000s wall art inside, including the token! Milwaukee has early Rockstar art, but of course the big draw is the band!!! Fun fact about this Jasper in particular: when I was planning the trip, I saw online that he was missing his hat, but when I got there, he had received Rockford Jasper's hat, i.e. the last rocker stage!! Learned this from the manager of this location who was super nice and definitely knew his CEC history stuff, so if you go, maybe give him a hello!

As for Crystal Lake, their 32m bot is not programmed ofc but he is moving! (Genuinely was so mesmerized by him that I barely noticed the art, but I want to say it was rockstar/2.0-esque?) As of 2ish weeks ago, they didn't know when their 2.0 remodel would be, and it's only a 20 minute drive from the Volo Museum if you happen to be headed there soon! (Which we also went to, the pictures just aren't as fun cause I didn't cosplay lol)

Here's a cool find from animatronics_clay_guy on instagram! It seems to be an earlier version of the standard cyberamic. I put a pic of a standard bot for reference. This photo was taken in the Sacramento store, the 4th PTT to open and the 2nd one to open with cyberamics. It's interesting to see a unique version of something that was supposed to standardize the animatronics' look.

From what I can tell, his nose is more pointy and longer. It's more akin to the shape of the earlier latex portrait bots. His vest is also more in line with early portrait bots with the white and red design opposed to the later brown and red color. Weirdly he has no tooth and it's a little hard to tell if his irises have color or are just black dots. His jaw also seems to be attached by fabric to the rest of his mouth. I don't really know how to explain it, he just looks like a muppet. I think he has a cigar but it's really hard to tell. Hopefully more photos are found of this guy. Maybe some early promo material or who knows? Maybe it could be seen in one of the lost commercials!

My Cryptidverse oc and au species

1.Sal is a massive felt muppet that strongly resembles a dark green and mild yellow semi-scaly dragon with snake like attributes, some of his behaviors are even reminiscent of comodo dragons and has a nasty rasp of a voice to go with it. He’s also friends with grumble gruff, a dark blue furred and yellow horned goat with multiple sewn patches on his body especially around his face, the little impish goat also had a horrible rasp in his voice too as well as a strong biker jacket and motif to go with it.

Sad news about Rocky and the Railroad Ramblers

I can't remember if we've featured these guys on our blog before, but I can't help but think we probably have. They're one of the most well-known cyberamic retrofits of all time, due in no small part to the man who's been the show's tech for the past decade, Andrew.

I'm not going to go into detail about the show or its past here, but I am going to announce to those of you who don't know that Gillian's Wonderland Pier is going to be closing after their 2024 season, i.e. this October. This means that Rocky and the Railroad Ramblers will be ramblin' on to new pastures, as their home since 1992 is shutting its doors for good.

It's a real shame that Gillian's Wonderland Pier is closing. It's been on the boardwalk in Ocean City, NJ since 1929, which is 95 years to you and me. It's a huge part of the community there, and residents are dismayed that the park is going the way of the dodo.

As for the Ramblers, well, Andrew is allegedly trying to secure a new home for them. At least, that's the rumor that's been going around. The owner of the park is Ocean City Mayor Jay Gillian, so needless to say, he's got HUGE ties with the community. I think that Andrew has a fair shot of being sold the show if he's able to find a place for them to go (either in storage or somewhere to display them).

It's a bummer that the show seems to not be at its best in its final hours at the park. Hank (the dalmatian) in particular appears to be in pretty rough shape. Hopefully Andrew will have time to give them a spit shine so their final performance at Gillian's Wonderland Pier can be one to remember!

my first brush was when i was a kid just slightly "too old" for chuck e cheese, but i still really liked it so i pored over the cec section of showbizpizza.com instead of physically going in. (im not sure if it was a special interest yet, but it was converging on being one). i didn't really care about rockafire explosion at the time for whatever reason, but The Seeds Were Planted.

then when i was 14 fnaf came out and everyone was comparing the rockafire explosion to the freddy's gang, so i circled back and went heyyyy those guys! i remember them! they actually do seem pretty cool? maybe i should watch some videos. and it all snowballed from there

Genuine question for you all.

What was the thing that first got you into the rae fandom? I'll go first. Mine was finding an animated video of Heartaches on youtube years ago when I was a little kid.
