York is a lovely city!!! It’s got a university so there are lots of young people but it’s also just this gorgeous place with Roman & medieval walls that you can climb up & walk around the city on. And it’s very walkable!! Cars don’t really get inside the old walls so pedestrians are everywhere and it’s great. I love York so much. This is relevant to your Spotify wrapped comment btw I’m not just randomly advertising English cities in your ask box

hehe i'd probably love it! it just seemed such a random city - especially when i listened to a lot of local bands while i was living in liverpool for ~1/2 the year.

Thoughts on the depths of the ocean!!!

a reflection of space ! fish among stars ! so vast and beautiful and maybe one of the only places that has spaces untouched by species that weren't born there ! the simplicity and joy of being a creature wrapped in darkness is unimaginable to me and i feel as though there is a world of meditations and unspoken societies within every single underwater trench . the agreement of mutual killings is filled with nothing but a caring for the self and pure neutrality and not even the most brutal thing is evil or malicious !! i wonder what it's like to stare at the waves from underneath for hours nd whether they look like stars at night and i often think about the fact that the heart of a blue whale is the biggest heart we know (181 kg) and if you ever feel unloved you must know the heart of the whale has space for your existence multiple times over !!

Do you have a favorite poem?

hi !! okay so i used to, they were love poems . and i was delaying answering this because i didn't know what my favourite poem was . i think the answer is that no, right now, i don't have a favourite poem, and i'm so happy about that !!!

the thing is, when i was in love, i used to love all these love poems to bits, and when i fell out of love, i took them down from the wall that's covered in poetry . i never put them back up . and then i felt grief, and loss, heartbreak, and then my favourite poems were about grief and loss and heartbreak . i put them up, and i took them down, and i never put them back up .

now i'm okay . now i finally said the last goodnight to the person i needed to say it to . now it feels like closure . i've been getting better, i've been getting angry and happy and sad, i've been stupid and clever and proud and i'm learning to be alright . i'm changing . i want new poems to put on my wall, because right now i'm changing and i'm learning and i'm so glad that is the case . i don't have a favourite poem, and i think someday i'll find one, but for now i'm going to stare at the empty space on this wall and finally love myself .
