Raphael Has Been Worried Sick About Katarina

When Katarina returns to the Ministry, Raphael pounces on her right away.

Since Katarina told him something unsetting before leaving, Raphael had been worried the whole time. And when she contacted him afterward and told him she had faced Sarah among others, he became even more worried.

In truth, Raphael wanted to go with her as support but couldn't because of work. He was eagerly waiting for her to return while doing his work. 

Raphael: I told you to be careful but you put yourself in danger again! Are you injured? Is anything wrong with your body?

Katarina apologizes to Raphael since she can tell he has been worried sick about her. She also tells him she is okay and has no injury. Raphael feels relieved.

Katarina's Questioning - Magic Going Out of Control

Katarina will be questioned by Larna, who knows about dark magic, and Cyrus, who is in charge of containing Larna's enthusiasm.

Katarina tells Larna and Cyrus she lost control of her magic during the incident. She lost control as "she used dark magic in a way unrelated to her will".

Back then, Katarina felt like a blizzard was blowing out of her body. Larna and Cyrus recognize in this description the sensation felt when someone loses control of their magic.

Katarina has never experienced losing control of her magic until now because she only has a small amount of magic power. But it happened to Keith around the time he arrived in the Claes house since he still couldn't control his magic well then. After the incident, Katarina felt guilty and did some research about magic going out of control. She feels like what she has experienced herself is different from what she learned from her research.

Katarina wonders if the fact she lost control of her magic means that she actually has high dark magic power. Larna can't verify it since they can't comprehend what high dark magic power is, but she agrees it is possible. Katarina remembers that they don't know much about dark magic because it has been hidden by royals for a long time until one of them disclosed it during the previous succession struggle.

Cyrus adds that magic going out of control is not only caused by high magic power. It can also be caused by emotional disarray. Katarina remembers that she heard before that emotional disarray could cause magic disarray. It didn't cross her mind because back then she didn't understand what it meant and figured it didn't concern her since she had weak magic.

Larna thinks Katarina lost control of her magic because she experienced strong anger just before. After all, they know dark magic feeds on negative emotions. It makes sense to Katarina but she can't readily agree since she can't distinctly remember what happened.

Katarina asks if it can possibly happen again. She is scared of experiencing it again because at that time she felt like she had become someone else. Cyrus thinks it is possible.

Katarina asks what she can do so that it won't happen. Larna thinks it will be difficult to contain her feelings since Katarina gets angry for the sake of her loved ones. Katarina agrees. She doesn't really get angry for herself but she usually can't contain her anger when the people precious to her are suffering. 

Larna suggests to Katarina that whenever she feels overwhelmed with anger and feels like she might lose control, she should tell herself that she might hurt her loved ones. By doing so, she might be able to control her anger and calm down. Katarina thinks it could indeed work and will try next time.

Katarina and Larna are happy to have found a solution, but Cyrus reminds them that there is no guarantee it will work. He suggests setting up a list of measures to make sure she won't lose control of her magic again.

Katarina thinks Cyrus is right.

Cyrus comes up with the following measures:

Katarina should try not to be emotional. She should especially not accumulate negative emotions

Katarina should be extra careful when using dark magic

Katarina should not do anything dangerous so that she won't get involved with the organization

Cyrus will let her know if he thinks of something else.

Katarina's Questioning - How She Came to Her Senses

Larna: And so, when the situation turned like this, how did you come to your senses? Please go into details about this.

...Larna asked, looking deeply interested.

That was right. I didn't explain in detail how I came to my senses. As a noble lady, it somehow felt a bit embarrassing to tell people. 

But in front of Larna and her sparkling eyes, and Cyrus and his serious face urging me for an answer, I had no choice but to confess.

Katarina: Umm... Prince Cezar sensed that there was something strange with me, so he startled me to make me come to my senses. And then I was able to come to my senses.

I said this while leaving out the details.

Cyrus: Startling someone who forgot themselves, and the moment their thoughts are taken away they come to their senses, huh? The Prince Ethenell is quite good!

Cyrus was impressed, but Larna...

Larna: I see. And so, what kind of things did he do to startle you? Did he shout in your ears or something?

She precisely asked the question I didn't want her to ask.

Aaah~ As I thought, I couldn't hide it from them.

Katarina: Umm... My nose...

Larna: Your nose?

Katarina: He bit it.

For a moment, silence fell into the room as if time had stopped. 

After a little while, time elapsed again and Cyrus asked...

Cyrus: So... In order to startle you, the Prince of  Ethenell bit your nose, is that right?

Because he asked me this again with a serious face, I also took on a serious expression and said...

Katarina: Yes, that's right.

...I answered.

Silence fell into the room again for a while. Then...

Larna: Ahahahahaha!

Larna's roar of laughter resounded in the room.

Larna: Ahahahaha! So he bit your nose to startle you? What the hell is that? He couldn't do anything else? Ahaha!

After hearing Larna's big roar of laughter, I also started wondering why he bit my nose. At that time, I was more affected by how he startled me by suddenly biting my nose and that it was thanks to this that I was saved. I never asked myself why he bit my nose.

Cyrus: ...What's this? Could it be the Ethenellian way to startle someone?

Because Cyrus was wondering this with a serious face, Larna's laughter didn't calm down.

Somehow, a chaotic mood fell inside the room.

Still, I was glad that they didn't tell me it was indecent for a noble lady to be bitten on the nose.

Before long, Larna had stopped laughing, and...

Larna: Well then, let me create a record of this, okay?

...she said, which took me by surprise.

Katarina: Eh?! You will create a record of this? Including how I got my nose bitten?!

Larna: Yes, this part is especially important. It might become needed if, later on, you get into the same state.

Katarina: N-No way! So I would get my nose bitten each time?!

Larna: I don't think it would come to this. After all, we have come up with measures earlier.

Katarina: Ah, that's right. ...But if this record is read by lots of people...

…then they may say things about me, and about Cezar too.

People saying things about me was one thing, but if people said things about Cezar, who had saved me, I would feel sorry for him.

Larna: Ah, yes. I will only show the points that might impact you and the Prince of Ethenell to the truly necessary persons, so you can relax.

After Larna's words, I breathed a sigh of relief.

End of Katarina's Questioning

After that, Larna asked Katarina how she had sensed Maria's impending crisis. 

Larna accepted Katarina explaining it as "her intuition" since it had also been the case in Raphael's incident. She seemed intrigued by Katarina and her "very keen intuition".

Then, Katarina went into detail about the mysterious man and Sarah.

The inquiry was over around sunset.

Katarina heard that Maria and her mother were thoroughly examined at the hospital and would stay in a facility inside the Ministry with Maria's father (who had been contacted after the incident)

Katarina heard that the undercover guards were all right.

Cezar's questioning is still going on. Katarina is exhausted, so she decides to properly thank him tomorrow and returns home ahead.

Katarina Thinks Back About Today's Events

Katarina is riding the Claes carriage home and is thinking back about today's events.

The men who attacked Maria's home were hired thugs who mostly didn't know anything.

The mysterious man only retrieved Sarah and left the men there because they were "sacrificial pawns". OG!Katarina was arrested at the end of Cezar's route, which means she was also considered a "sacrificial pawn".

The organization used OG!Katarina desire for revenge, tempted her into acquiring dark magic, and threw her away once she made a mistake. Katarina feels sorry for her despite only thinking of her as a "baddie" until now.

Even so, Katarina feels relieved to have overcome the jail doom end of Cezar's route. Katarina knows the game is still not over, she doesn't know who the second capture target is, and she doesn't know what will happen with the other capture targets. Even so, she has overcome her doom today and feels satisfying tiredness as a result.

When she reaches home, Katarina is so exhausted she falls asleep.

Keith's Lecture

First thing in the morning, Keith barges into Katarina's room, asks her various questions about the incident and lectures her. This time, Katarina is fully aware that she put herself in danger, so she apologizes.

Katarina Receives Cezar's Visit

Today is her day off, so Katarina is thinking of visiting Cezar and properly thanking him.

A servant notifies Katarina that she has a visitor. Katarina is surprised. She usually doesn't get notified of the arrival of a visitor since her childhood friends usually hang out in the Claes house as if it were their second home.

Katarina gets ready and goes to meet the visitor. To her surprise, it is Cezar.

Katarina asks Cezar what he is doing here. Cezar replies that he came because she left ahead yesterday and he couldn't help worrying about her physical condition.

Katarina guesses Cezar must have been worried about her because she was trembling after her magic went out of control and after the man's words. Cezar seems to be very kind.

Katarina tells Cezar that she has completely recovered after a good night's sleep. She thinks to herself that she only needs a good meal and a good night's sleep to be full of energy the next day. It is her special skill. Cezar feels relieved. 

Cezar asks Katarina how her questioning went yesterday. Katarina replies that her superior asked her for lots of details during it.

Katarina remembers that she told Larna and Cyrus about Cezar biting her nose to make her come to her senses. She feels like she needs to let Cezar know since it might impact his image. While embarrassed, Katarina tells Cezar that she had no choice but to tell her superiors about the way he made her come back to her senses. Cezar doesn't mind since he expected they would ask. Cezar apologizes for doing such a thing to her. Katarina flusteredly tells him he doesn't need to apologize since he saved her. Rather she should be the one thanking him. Cezar is relieved.

Katarina tells Cezar she was surprised when he approached his face at that time. She was wondering what he would do. Cezar grins and asks if she thought he would kiss her. Katarina gets flustered. Cezar chuckles and demonstrates by moving his face close to Katarina's. Katarina freezes over the shock. Cezar's up-close face is alluring and beautiful. Then Cezar drops the mischievous smile and takes on a serious expression.

Cezar: Katarina, I...

At that moment, the door vigorously opens.

Geordo vs. Cezar

Geordo appears, quickly walks to Katarina, holds her shoulders, and pulls her towards him.

Geordo: Prince Cezar, could you not approach my fiancée so familiarly?

Geordo has such a stern tone that Katarina would have apologized immediately if he were speaking to her. Even so, Cezar elegantly greets Geordo.

Katarina feels like Geordo is not conducting himself properly in front of a royal. This is not something Geordo would usually do.

Geordo asks Cezar what he is doing in Katarina's house. Cezar explains that he just wanted to check up on Katarina after the incident yesterday. Geordo thanks him for his concern but he doesn't need to worry about Katarina.

Katarina can tell Geordo is showing bare hostility at Cezar. Even so, Cezar is not upset by it in the slightest.

Geordo understands that Cezar has been worried about Katarina since they fought together and that he wants to offer his apologies to her. Cezar looks at Katarina as if saying "Right?" Katarina figures Cezar is referring to him biting her nose, so she hurriedly tells him that it is really fine and he doesn't need to apologize. She has called Cezar "Mister Cezar" as if they were alone.

Geordo reacts badly to Katarina calling Cezar "Mister Cezar". Katarina is afraid Geordo might be mad at her for showing disrespect to a foreign royal. Cezar tells Geordo that he has asked Katarina to treat him intimately. Upon hearing this, Geordo's hold on Katarina's shoulders gets stronger. When she looks up at him, Geordo is making a very severe face, completely different from his usual princely smile that doesn't reveal his emotions. She can't believe he would show that face to another person, especially another royal.

Geordo asks Cezar if it is because they were intimate that he did such a thing to startle her. Geordo's voice is chilly. Katarina is surprised that Geordo knows about the nose bite incident. Geordo tells her he heard the gist of it from his brother. Katarina guesses that Larna told Jeffrey about it. She feels embarrassed that even Geordo knows about it now.

Cezar tells Geordo it is because of this incident that he has wanted to apologize to Katarina. He also apologizes to him for doing such a thing to his fiancée. Katarina also emphasizes to Geordo that Cezar saved her with this act.

Geordo: … I know. I do understand that it is thanks to Prince Cezar’s action that you were saved. But I just can’t stand someone else, someone who isn’t me touching you. Katarina, you are my fiancée.

All while saying this, for some reason Geordo approached his face.

Because I had no idea why, I froze with my eyes wide.

The moment I felt dazed because Geordo's face was too close, something soft touched my lips.

Eh?! I knew that sensation.

This is Geordo's lips? Which means this is a k-kiss?! W-Why suddenly? Why?!

There was confusion and great panic in my head but my body remained unmoving. Wait, this was long. The times before, his lips had moved away right after, but now his lips wouldn't move away. On top of this, I felt like something soft had entered my mouth!   

What in the world could it be? No way... Could it be that thing I heard about... The adult kiss?!

Because there was just too much to process in my head, I fainted.

Geordo: Katarina is my precious fiancée, so please don’t involve yourself with her anymore.

While my consciousness was fading, I felt like I heard Geordo's stern voice.

Katarina Dreams About Her Past Life

It is the day after her older brother has climbed down the mountains while carrying her on his back. 

The brother will be taken to the hospital to treat the wounds on his legs.

Monkey Girl apologizes to her brother since it is her fault.

The brother curtly tells her that it is not her fault. Then he says in a low voice it is the role of a big brother to help his little sister when she is in trouble.

The brother leaves.

Monkey Girl feels happy because of her brother's words. She thanks him in her heart. Her brother may bully her and say mean things to her but she loves him.

It is the end of the memory.

Katarina feels like she is having lots of nostalgic dreams lately. Maybe it is because she sees her older brother in Cezar. Though, her older brother is not as cool as Cezar.

Katarina wonders why she is sleeping.

Geordo Apologizes to Katarina

Katarina wakes up in her room. There is sunlight entering her room. It doesn't seem to be morning else Anne would have woken her up. She doesn't remember when she went to sleep.

Geordo speak to Katarina. He is glad that she has woken up. Katarina wonders why Geordo is in her room.

Geordo apologizes for what he did and tells her it was because he thought Cezar had kissed her. Katarina completely denies Cezar having kissed her. Geordo explains he now knows that but he seems to have misunderstood what his brother said at the time. Then he got jealous and forgot himself. He can't believe he did such a thing in front of people.

Katarina remembers Geordo's kiss and gets flustered. She is completely dying of embarrassment over the memory.

Geordo awkwardly asks Katarina if she will forgive him. Geordo is looking at her with upturned puppy eyes.

Katarina flusteredly says yes with her face still hot because of embarrassment.

A happy smile blooms on Geordo's face.

The Gang Pulls Geordo Apart From Katarina

The door of Katarina's room vigorously opens.

Mary: I have heard everything. Prince Geordo, please get away from Lady Katarina.

Mary rushed in with such vigor that I felt like I had heard a sound effect.

Then Mary...

Mary: Prince Alan.

After she had called him, Alan behind her yanked Geordo away from my bed.

Geordo: Wait, what are you doing?!

Geordo said this in a displeased voice. In response to him, Keith, who entered next...

Keith: What do you mean by "What are you doing?" Put a hand over your chest and think about it yourself. Starting today, you are temporarily banned from the Claes house.

He declared this in an imposing stance.

Sophia: That's right, Prince Geordo. You won't be able to approach Lady Katarina for a while.

Sophia, who had arrived before I knew it, had said this, and Nicol behind her was also nodding.

And then, through everyone's strength, Geordo was steadily pulled far from me.

Geordo: I have already apologized to Katarina and she has forgiven me.

Geordo said this, but...

Mary: Even if Lady Katarina forgives you, we won't.

Without Mary showing any signs of backing down, Geordo steadily got further away from me.

After looking at this scene, the heat on my face had calmed down.

Keith: Are you okay, Big Sister?

Before I knew it, Keith was right next to me. Because he had asked this,

Katarina: I am okay.

After replying to him with this, I asked him something I was curious about.

Katarina: Umm, why are you all here?

There was often someone coming over on my day off, but having everyone over like this mostly never happened.

Keith: Ah, it seems like everyone has heard what happened to you yesterday, and because they were worried, they have come to see how you were doing. 

Keith said this with an awkward smile.

Katarina: I see.

Looking at everyone's heated faces, I felt relieved.

"Recall the people precious to you if you ever feel like you would lose control of your dark magic."

If there ever were a next time, I would recall everyone. If I did that, things would probably be alright. This was what I thought.

A little later, Maria came over to thank me for yesterday with lots of handmade sweets. Maria had recovered. I ate the sweets with her and everyone.

I spent a nice holiday as if yesterday had just been a dream.

Katarina Talks About Cattle Manure With Cyrus

A few days have passed since the sightseeing outing. Katarina has been spending her days normally at the Ministry of Magic.

Work has ended. Katarina is helping Cyrus harvest potatoes with Maria. 

Katarina is impressed by the quantity and the sizes of the potatoes. She doesn't get such a good harvest at home. Cyrus tells her he couldn't grow potatoes well at first, but his harvests have been good ever since he started using the fertilizer he buys from a nearby farm.

Katarina is curious about the fertilizer. Cyrus tells her it is fertilizer made from cattle dung. Katarina is disappointed. Looking at her, Cyrus remembers that Katarina is "more or less" a noble lady and that she would probably not want to use cattle dung. Katarina wonders how she should take the "more or less". She decides to take it well.

Katarina has no problem with cattle manure, actually. She knows it is efficient. She tried to use some once, but her mother got furious and shouted at her.

Millidiana: I have already given up on the garden's scenery. Still, I can't possibly suffer such a foul smell. I will absolutely not allow such foul smell to float adrift in the garden of the Claes house!

The servants also complained about the smell. As a result, Katarina was banned from using cattle manure.

Cyrus can understand why it would turn out like that. There's no problem using cattle manure at the Ministry because the fields are in a secluded and downwind place. Katarina can't possibly use cattle manure in the garden of a ducal house. She won't be able to completely remove the smell no matter what she does.

Katarina can't give up on cattle manure after seeing Cyrus's bountiful harvest. She is determined to find a way to reduce the cattle manure's smell. She will try to mix it with lavender later.

Break Time

Cyrus calls Katarina and Maria to take a break. He takes out tea and pickles.

Katarina is happy they have an abundant harvest. Maria asks Cyrus if he will make a donation to the orphanage. Cyrus says yes. Cyrus seems to be able to talk to Maria normally when at the fields, though he blushes a little. Maria thinks the children will be happy like last time. Katarina remembers that Maria delivered potatoes to the orphanage on the day she acted as a guide for Cezar.

Katrina internally wonders how much potatoes Cyrus is growing. As if reading her mind, Cyrus awkwardly tells her he is growing all kinds of varieties since the plot of land is large. Maria has received so much potatoes from Cyrus that she has sent some home. Her mother said they were delicious. It seems like Cyrus has been sharing his crops with Maria. Katarina is glad that Maria and Cyrus's relationship is making progress even if it is slow.

Katarina realizes that it has been a while since Maria has returned home. Before, she would go back on her days off. Maria has been busy lately but she will return home tomorrow.

Cyrus, Katarina, and Maria end their break and go back to harvesting the potatoes.

Cyrus Escorts Katarina to the Carriage Gate

Cyrus, Katarina, and Maria have finished harvesting the potatoes.

Katarina would usually part ways with Cyrus and Maria there, but this time Cyrus tells her he will accompany her to the carriage gate.

Katarina wonders if Cyrus wants to ask for love advice or report his progress. He acts as a serious and reliable director in front of others, so he can only ask for love advice from Katarina. He usually reports things like "I had a long conversation with Maria" or "I walked alongside her". It feels to her like even a grade-school boy from her past life would make more progress. Though she will lend him an ear since he has given her potatoes and told her about the manure.

Cyrus tells Katarina that Maria was approached by a strange man the other day when she delivered vegetables to the orphanage. Katarina doesn't find it so strange that Maria is approached by men since she is cute. Cyrus knows that, but this time, Maria sensed something strange from the man. She had the unpleasant feeling he had used dark magic before. When she turned him down, he left right away. When he did, Maria tried to detect traces of dark magic on him but she couldn't see any.

Maria couldn't see dark magic but she could sense the use of dark magic.

Cyrus adds that Maria's undercover guards didn't see anything strange with the man. Katarina is internally surprised that Maria has been assigned undercover guards.

Cyrus tells Katarina that Maria has reported this incident to him but they can't act on it without anything definitive. They should probably search for the man since Maria sensed something, but unfortunately, she can't clearly remember his face, and the guards were too far away at that time.

Katarina asks Cyrus why he is telling her about this incident. Could it be he wants her to guard Maria when they're deciphering their covenants together? Cyrus is taken aback and strongly denies it.

Cyrus just wanted to ask Katarina to be careful. If Maria is targeted, Katarina may be targeted too. And unlike Maria who has powerful light magic, Katarina has weak dark magic.

Cyrus's words remind Katarina of Jeffrey's words of caution. Cyrus probably hasn't thought this far, but he probably feels that something bad might happen. Katarina may see him as her good-for-nothing farmer friend, but he is actually an extremely competent person.

Katarina thanks Cyrus and tells him she will be careful. Cyrus nods and leaves after ensuring that Katarina has gotten inside her carriage.

Katarina can't believe Maria is in danger. Maria may be a Wielder of Light but light magic has mostly no offensive capabilities, so she can't really protect herself. Even if she has guards assigned for her protection, it may not make her safer since dark magicians can manipulate people's minds.

Katarina prays that the strange man isn't a member of the dark magic organization.

***Cezar's POV***

Cezar Has Shared His Information With Sorcier

Cezar has given the information he has gathered to the Sorcier's top brass. He has also asked for compensation for it.

After that, some nobles were arrested with this information as proof. These nobles seemed to have some kind of status. They are currently questioned but none of them can seem to give useful statements. Cezar thinks these nobles didn't act for themselves but rather followed directives.

Cezar and Jean Fear Maria Might Get Attacked

Jean enters the room in panic. He tells Cezar that something bad may happen. 

Jean has been fumbling around "the guy" without getting involved with him. Cezar angrily tells him that he must not get involved with "the guy" anymore since he is dangerous. Jean apologizes for making him worry and explains that he didn't get involved with "the guy", he only gathered information about him from a distance. Cezar is reassured but still asks Jean to be careful.

Jean tells Cezar that "the guy" has gotten in contact with Maria Campbell. Cezar thinks it might be because Maria can get in the way of their evildoings with her light magic. But if "the guy" only got in contact with her, they can just watch the situation.

Jean doesn't think so. "The guy" has gotten in contact with Maria before they did, and in the meanwhile, the nobles connected to "the guy" have been arrested thanks to the information they provided to Sorcier. The situation has changed. Maria's magic can make people confess their crimes so she has become big trouble for "the guy".

Cezar remembers the magic Maria used at Ocean Harbor Town during the kidnapping case. It made criminals confess all of their crimes. She undoubtedly represents an urgent threat to "the guy" in the current situation. The people who witnessed her magic at that time were all ordered to keep their mouths shut, but from the look of it, there must have been some leak.

Jean thinks they must let Sorcier know about "the guy" for Maria's safety. Cezar agrees. They should send a message to the Ministry of Magic to caution Maria to be careful. Jean has actually already sent the message since he knew Cezar would say this. Cezar is not surprised since Jean is his longstanding partner.

Cezar receives a message from the Ministry, which seems to be their reply. Cezar frowns upon reading it: "Maria Campbell has taken the day off today and returned to her home. However, there should be no problem since she has been assigned undercover guards for her protection". Cezar doubts the guards will make a difference against "the guy". This is what his gut feeling as a former mercenary is telling him.

Cezar decides to head to Maria's home since he can't shake off the uneasy feeling. If there's nothing to worry about, he will just have observation trips in town. He asks Jean to cancel his plans for him. Jean understands and asks Cezar to be careful.

Cezar prepares to set off. He prays that nothing bad will happen.

***Katarina's POV***

Katarina Is Deciphering Her Covenant Alone

Katarina is deciphering her covenant alone since Maria has taken the day off. Without Maria here, she is even less motivated than usual, and on top of this, she feels incredibly sleepy. 

She falls asleep.

Fortune Lover 2 Dream

Acchan starts the game. She is playing Cezar's route, which is perfect timing since Cezar is in Sorcier. 

It is the scene where OG!Katarina reveals herself to OG!Maria and OG!Cezar. Katarina feels like she has already seen that scene.

OG!Maria is shocked since OG!Katarina is supposed to be exiled. OG!Katarina tells her she has come back to take her revenge on her. OG!Maria is frightened. OG!Cezar protectively steps in front of OG!Maria and tells OG!Katarina he won't let her make a single scratch on OG!Maria. OG!Katarina laughs over OG!Cezar thinking he is a match for her who has become a dark magician.

OG!Katarina summons Cerberus. A huge wolf comes out of her shadow. He is like a huge Pochi.

Katarina is sure of it now. She has already watched that scene. She feels sad since she has wasted one of her rare Fortune Lover 2 dreams.

Cerberus charges on OG!Cezar. OG!Cezar fights back with a sword. OG!Maria fires her light magic on Cerberus. Cerberus falters and returns inside OG!Katarina's shadow.

OG!Katarina grimaces and says "You've done it!" like a boss from an evil organization. For some reason, some underlings appear and attack OG!Cezar. OG!Katarina seems to have gotten ahead and become a boss in an evil organization. OG!Cezar defeats the underlings one by one.

OG!Katarina grimaces even more. She summons a black wand. OG!Katarina's wand does not have a skull attached to it, so it looks less evil than Katarina's. OG!Katarina fires dark magic with her wand. Katarina is shocked that OG!Katarina can use dark magic just fine, unlike her who can only suck darkness. She seems more competent than her.

OG!Maria counters OG!Katarina's dark magic with her light magic. OG!Katarina is eventually wrapped in light. OG!Katarina falls to her knees.

The government officials arrive and ask OG!Maria if she is alright. OG!Katarina is arrested. 

OG!Maria and OG!Cezar have lovey-dovey dialogue. OG!Maria's mother arrives with a shopping basket. It seems like the event happened near OG!Maria's house. OG!Maria introduces OG!Cezar to her mother as her special someone. OG!Cezar declares to OG!Maria's mother that he would like to live happily with OG!Maria. It is the end of Cezar's route. Katarina is glad for them.

Katarina wonders when this scene is supposed to happen. She must be careful so it won't happen. OG!Katarina also seems to be a boss in an organization. Could it be "that" organization or another?

Katarina Talks With Sophia

Katarina wakes up and sees Sophia. Sophia woke her up because she looked like she was having a nightmare. Katarina thanks her since she really shouldn't nod off while at work.

Katarina asks Sophia what she is doing here. Sophia replies that today is the day when she helps out at the Ministry. After finishing work, she came here to check up on Katarina and Maria.

Sophia asks if Maria has taken the day off since she doesn't seem to be here. Katarina confirms it. Maria told her yesterday that she would return home today for the first time in a while.

Katarina Fears the Event Might Happen Today

After mentioning Maria returning home, Katarina remembers her dream from earlier. Then it hit her: an event happening after Cezar came for his foreign study, Maria returning home for the first time in a while, OG!Katarina with underlings, Maria seeing a man giving off an unpleasant dark magic feeling... That event might happen today!

Katarina can't help feeling uneasy.

Katarina gets up from her seat and tells Sophia she will ask permission to leave early. Then she runs to her department.

When Katarina arrives at her department, Raphael is at the door. She asks him if she can leave early. Raphael doesn't mind and asks if she is feeling unwell. Katarina can't think of a good excuse, so she honestly tells him she is worried something might happen to Maria and would like to go to her home to make sure.

Katarina is afraid Raphael might think she is weird, but to her surprise, he accepts. He will also get permission for her to use a carriage from the Ministry. Katarina is surprised that he believes her. Raphael tells her he would have been suspicious if it were another person, but he knows that Katarina doesn't joke or lie. He also trusts Katarina's intuition.

Raphael gives Katarina a magic tool so that she can contact him if something happens.

Katarina Meets Cezar on the Way to Maria's House

Katarina heads to Maria's home in the Ministry's carriage. She can't help feeling uneasy on the way.

When she gets out of the carriage near Maria's house, another carriage arrives at the same time. Katarina thinks it might be someone from the organization, and stands in her guard. But it turns out to be Cezar. Katarina and Cezar are both shocked to see each other.

Cezar asks Katarina what she is doing here. Katarina doesn't think she can deceive him and honestly tells him she just had a bad feeling about Maria. Cezar is surprised. He asks her if she has this kind of ability. Katarina completely denies it and just says it is her intuition. Cezar is dumbfounded but Katarina has no time to explain and urges him to head to Maria's house.

Cezar and Katarina are both running to Maria's house. Cezar asks if, as a noble lady, it is okay for her to run while lifting her skirt. Katarina replies it's no time to think about this.

Katarina and Cezar Arrive at Maria's House

They arrive at Maria's house. The door looks the same as usual, and the curtains are shut so they can't see inside. Katarina looks around to search for Maria's undercover guards but she doesn't see any of them. Katarina knocks on the door but she doesn't get any response. Cezar tells her that he senses a presence inside. Katarina tries to open the door, but it is locked.

Cezar decides to break the door. He throws himself against it and smashes it in.

Cezar and Katarina enters Maria's house.

The Table & Kitchen Room

Right next to the entrance, the table & kitchen room is in a mess.

There is a person lying face down on the floor. Katarina rushes over in panic thinking it might be Maria, but it's Maria's mother. Katarina picks up her body and calls out to her but she doesn't respond. Looking at Maria's mother in this state, Katarina feels her blood rushing.

Cezar supports Katarina's hands and puts a hand on Maria's mother's mouth and neck. He calmly tells Katarina that Maria's mother has a pulse and is breathing. She appears to be only unconscious. He also tells Katarina not to move her body too much since she has hit her head.

Katarina calms down a little after hearing that Maria's mother is alive.

Katarina wonders how something like that could happen, especially in Maria's house. The chairs have fallen down, there is dirt on the floor, and some plates have broken after falling from the table.

Katarina feels furious wondering who could do such a cruel thing. She feels coldness within her body.

Katarina hears a loud noise coming from Maria's room. She rushes over there, but Cezar is faster. Cezar clings to the door and puts his ears on it. He uses his hand to signal to Katarina to be quiet. He puts one hand on the handle of his sword and uses the other to open the door.

Maria's Room

Maria's room is in the same state as the table & kitchen room. There is dirt on the floor. The desk and the chairs have fallen down. 

Just like in Katarina's dream, the underlings are there. But unlike the dream, Maria is not protected behind Cezar's back but wrapped in darkness, or rather constricted by a huge snake. She looks completely pale and exhausted.

Katarina feels anger again and the coldness within her body increases.

Cezar enters the room and knocks down the closest man with his scabbard.

Katarina summons her skull wand. Since sucking darkness is her specialty, she feels like she might be able to suck up the huge snake.

Katarina starts sucking the tail of the huge snake. It works. Sarah and the men are dumbfounded since they probably didn't expect it. Cezar takes advantage of their confused state to knock another man down.

Katarina has completely absorbed the snake. There is nothing to support Maria's body anymore. Cezar catches Maria as she falls down.

The men recover and attack Cezar. Cezar can't repel their attacks since he is holding Maria. He somehow evades their attacks and ends up rolling on the floor while holding Maria. His arm is bleeding because he couldn't completely avoid their attacks.

Katarina Loses Control of Her Dark Magic

Katarina's anger was already at its peak after seeing the mess in the rooms, the unconscious Maria's mother, and the pale and exhausted Maria. But after seeing Cezar's blood splashing around, she can't take it anymore.

Katarina: Unforgivable…

After this thought has crossed her mind, Katarina feels a strange feeling she has never felt before. She feels the cold thing within her burst out of her body. It is a terribly sickening feeling.

Katarina's hand holding the skull wand raises in the air as if it were manipulated. Katarina is looking at this as if she were someone else. Her hand slowly goes down and then black darkness bursts out from her wand. She has never been able to summon so much darkness before. The darkness gets bigger and bigger and becomes a big lump. Then it takes on the form of the snake that was constricting Maria earlier, except it is twice bigger.

The snake crawls towards the men.

The men's faces were distorted in terror. Sarah was wide-eyed.

Then the snake caught up with the men. It used its huge body to wrap the running men and tightly constrict them. 

Man A: Urgh...

Man B: Please help...

Man C: Please stop...

The men speaking with their faces distorted in pain, when I looked at them through the screen, they didn't seem real to me.

Even so, I felt more empathy for them in the game. How should I put it? Like now, I had not a shred of admiration for them as they truly were.

That aside, the problem was the coldness that was steadily blowing out from within me just like a blizzard.

The blizzard was engulfing my body. I was cold, so, so, cold.

Gradually, everything but the sensation of cold disappeared.

Far away, I felt like someone was telling me something, but I couldn't focus on that.

The blizzard grew more fierce. My head was dazed. At this rate, I felt like it would be easier to just lose consciousness.

Everything was becoming dark.

Cezar: Katarina! Hey, Katarina! Hang in there! Snap back! Me and Maria, we're both alright!

I could faintly hear this voice.

My field of vision opened up just a little. With a desperate face, Cezar was raising his voice to me while holding my shoulders.

Both Maria and Cezar were alright. I was so glad.

My field of vision opened up just a little and I could faintly hear his voice, but I still couldn't move my body nor raise my voice. The overflowing cold blizzard wouldn't stop.

What should I do? 

Cezar who looked so desperate, Maria too, everyone... If I didn't turn back to normal, I would cause them worry.

I wanted to turn back to normal. I wanted to stop the blizzard. What should I do?

Even though I couldn't move my body, I could feel something wet running down my cheeks.

At that moment, Cezar's eyes grew wide, then his beautiful face suddenly moved closer.

"Cezar?". As I was puzzled like this, a biting sensation...

Katarina: Eh? Mister Cezar! What are you doing?!

After shouting this, I was so surprised by my voice coming out that I reflexively covered my mouth with my hand.

Katarina is glad she can finally move her body. 

Katarina Has Come to Her Senses

Cezar feels relieved that Katarina has come to her senses. Katarina is confused, so Cezar explains that just before, the inside of her eyes was pitch black and she had completely lost her mind.

Katarina now understands why Cezar looked so desperate.

Cezar continues. There was a strange black thing steadily coming out of her and he felt like he needed to do something. He tried to call out to her but it didn't work at all. If she had been a guy, he could have punched her to make her come to her senses but he couldn't possibly do that to a woman. Then she started crying so he felt even more panicked. So to catch her off guard... he bit her.

Katarina remembers what happened. Her field of visions opened up, Cezar was desperately calling her, then his beautiful face got closer and he bit her nose.

Now that she has remembered it, Katarina holds her nose. Cezar asks if it hurts. Katarina says it doesn't. She was surprised when he bit her but it didn't hurt at all. Cezar is relieved to hear that.

Katarina understands that it is because Cezar took her by surprise that she can move her body again. The cold blizzard has stopped too.

Cezar doesn't understand himself why he did that. It was a spur-of-a-moment decision. He apologizes and asks Katarina to just pretend she was licked by a dog and forget it. He looks very sorry. Katarina tells him he doesn't need to apologize and thanks him for saving her. Since her body was engulfed by a violent and cold blizzard, Katarina feels like she wouldn't have been able to come back to "that side" if she had lost consciousness. She is extremely grateful to Cezar. Cezar feels relieved.

Katarina Is Horrified by What She Has Done

Now, Cezar and Katarina need to sort out the situation.

Maria is lying unconscious but her complexion looks greatly better than before.

The men are collapsed on the floor, but they are some kind of black mist stuck to them.

Upon realizing she is the one who did this, Katarina feels scared. She remembers how, earlier, her body moved by itself and a snake came out of her wand. The snake was probably the one who put the men in this state. They are lying unconscious on the floor with pained expressions on their faces. Sarah is also lying unconscious on the floor and her hair is hiding her face, but she probably has the same expression as the others.

While Katarina was angry about what they did to Maria's mother, Maria, and Cezar, she never wanted things to turn out like this. All she wanted was to save the others.

Katarina reflexively hugs her body. It is the first time she has lost control like that since she obtained Pochi. It is scary how she has been thinking until now that she was alright. She can't help shaking. She tries to hug herself more strongly but she still can't stop the shaking. She has regained control of her body but she can't stop the shaking.

Cezar puts his jacket over her. He tells her not to think of needless things and just focus on what to do with this situation. Katarina calms down. She agrees that they need to think of what to do now. Katarina shakes her head and focuses.

Katarina Treats Cezar's Wound

Katarina remembers Cezar got wounded and asks him if he is alright. Cezar says it is only a scratch but his shirt is completely red and there is still blood dripping.

Katarina forcibly takes Cezar's arm and takes a look at the wound. It is a gaping wound with overflowing blood. It isn't a scratch at all. Katarina hurriedly puts a handkerchief over it but it turns red fast. There is a lot of blood. It will be bad if it keeps bleeding.

Katarina often got deep wounds in her past life because she was a mischievous kid. There were times when the bleeding wouldn't stop. When it happened, she needed to bind the wound tightly and stop the bleeding. It was her second older brother who taught her that since he also kept getting injured.

Katarina searches for a long cloth to bind the wound. She looks around the room but she can't find any. She finally decides to create one using her skirt. After ripping her skirt, she wraps the resulting cloth around Cezar's arm. She doesn't know the correct way to dress a wound but she has learned by watching her older brother. The bleeding has stopped a little.

Cezar is amazed and asks Katarina where she learned how to dress a wound. Katarina remembers she is not supposed to know that as a noble lady. Katarina is confused over what to answer, so Cezar doesn't pry.

The bleeding has stopped. Despite only imitating her older brother, Katarina seems to have dressed the wound well. Katarina is glad. Cezar will be okay, so now it is Maria's turn.

Maria's complexion has completely returned to normal. It seems like she was pale earlier because of the snake constricting her. Katarina puts a hand over Maria's mouth and confirms she is breathing too. Katarina feels even more relieved.

Katarina is about to look at Sarah and the men but Cezar stops her. They may be unconscious but it doesn't mean they are not dangerous. Katarina shouldn't approach them so easily. Katarina realizes he is right: they could indeed jump on their feet and attack her.

Katarina and Cezar Meet the Secret Mastermind

Cezar suddenly protects Katarina behind his back and faces the door. Katarina is surprised and also looks towards the door. There is a man standing there.

The man lightly says that Katarina and Cezar have really beaten them up. The man is about the same age as Katarina's father but he is also a beautiful and alluring person. Katarina wonders who he is. Based on Cezar's behavior, he doesn't seem like an ally but she can't sense anything hostile from him. She also feels like she has seen him before.

Katarina is staring at the man from Cezar's back. Their eyes meet.

The man tells Katarina "Nice to meet you, Lady Katarina Claes." Based on this, it doesn't seem like Katarina has met him before. Katarina reflexively answers "Nice to meet you". The man chuckles and realizes that Katarina is really as interesting as the rumors say.

The man asks Katarina if she is the one who did this, referring to the men and Sarah lying unconscious on the floor. Katarina says she is and reflexively apologizes out of guilt. Cezar tells her she shouldn't apologize.

The man tells Katarina she really is a strange girl.

The man is suddenly in front of Cezar. Cezar has stiffened and becomes even more alert.

The man stares at Katarina with his grey eyes.

Man: Given your abilities and the situation, it wouldn't be so strange if you were working on "our side".

Cezar: What are you talking about?

Cezar replied this with a puzzled voice but I could somewhat understand the meaning behind the man's words.

That was right. I, Katarina Claes, was originally working on "that side", the enemy's side.

On the screen I saw in my dream, the one who led those men and attacked Maria and Cezar wasn't Sarah, but Katarina.

She had mostly no magic power, she wasn't really smart, she became the prince's fiancée, she got jealous of Maria who got along with the prince, she engaged in harassment that was borderline criminal and got exiled.

And there, she obtained dark magic and stood once again before Maria as her enemy.

"Katarina Claes" was this kind of person.

Then, because I suddenly remembered the memories of my past life, the things around me changed. As a result, I didn't get exiled and became friends with the capture targets and the heroine.

But because of the possible influence of the game, I obtained a dark familiar and dark magic.

And just now, I had hurt people with that magic.

This man is right. I...

Cezar: Don't waver! It's okay.

It was as if Cezar had read my mind, When I looked up at him after hearing his words, he gave me a strong gaze.

Cezar: I don't know what you are trembling about but there's no need for you to listen to someone like that.

The man jokingly says that it was rude of "the prince" to call him "someone like that". Katarina realizes that the man knows Cezar's true identity.

Cezar asks the man what he has come for. He didn't expect him to come out in public. Katarina realizes that Cezar also knows the man.

The man nonchalantly replies that he usually doesn't come out but it really depends on the situation. And in this case, it was an emergency.

The man moves. Cezar takes a guard stance, but the man goes in the opposite direction and retrieves Sarah, who is lying there.

With a grin, the man says that only Sarah can't be used as a sacrificial pawn. He was asked to retrieve her in time of emergency.

In other words, the men are considered "sacrificial pawns".

The man says "bye" and is about to leave with Sarah. Katarina is reflexively about to tell him "bye" too but Cezar stops him. He stares at him with a hand on his sword.

Katarina can feel that Cezar is tense while the man has his unchanging frivolous smile. The man tells Cezar that he has heard about his skills with the sword. But *he* can use powerful magic.

The man creates a violent windstorm. Katarina can't keep her eyes open. When the wind finally calms down and she can finally open her eyes, the unconscious men have been smashed against the walls. Maria is alright since Cezar has held her during the storm. As for the man, he has disappeared. They have failed to capture the man and Sarah.

Conclusion of the Incident

Cezar carefully carries Maria and her mother to a safe place. Katarina puts a sheet over them. Their complexions have completely returned to normal and they have a calm breath.

Cezar goes to Maria's room to restrain the men with a rope. Katarina wants to help him, but he refuses because it is dangerous. Instead, he asks her to contact the outside.

Katarina uses the magic tool Raphael gave her. After she has contacted him, Raphael arrives and ties the men up. 

Katarina is concerned about the conditions of the men she has hurt. Cezar tells her their lives are not in danger and they don't have serious wounds. Katarina feels relieved.

Support arrives. Jean also arrives.

There is a doctor among the support. He examines Maria and her mother, and also the men.

The men have woken up and are arrested. They seem to be fine just as Cezar said, so Katarina feels relieved again. 

Maria and her mother have woken up and they are both alright. According to them, the men suddenly broke into their house. They hit Maria's mother in the head, she fell down and lost consciousness. Maria came out of her room because of the commotion. Sarah restrained her with her dark magic. It happened in an instant. Katarina and Cezar seemed to have arrived at Maria's house just after. 

Katarina is so glad. She shudders upon imagining what would have happened if she had arrived a moment later. Earlier, she felt relieved that the men didn't have any serious injuries, but after listening to this story, she wished she had injured them a little more. 

Maria thanks Katarina deeply. When she thought it was the end, she heard Katarina's voice and decided to hold on a little longer.

Losing control of her dark magic is scary, and the feeling of guilt is terrible, but it is also because of her dark magic that she has been able to save Maria.

Maria's undercover guards are all unconscious while hidden by brushwoods. There are traces of dark magic used on them, so they are carefully examined at the hospital.

Maria and her mother have been taken to the hospital to get a second more thorough examination.

Katarina and Cezar head to the Ministry of Magic to undergo an inquiry.

Hamefura LN7 Extra Story Outline

This is an outline of the extra story given with the special edition of volume 7 of the light novel. It is an hilarious version of Snow White XD!

I am writing this outline as I read, so I am skipping the details. The dialogues are not translation but a summary of what was said. Also, I haven’t finished reading the story yet, so I will edit this post later. I just wanted to post it as soon as possible, even if incomplete, since it was hilarious.

I have completed the outline of the extra story which somehiow became some kind of summary along the way!

Katarina is suddenly transported to another world.

A voice from above tells Katarina that everyone has been transported in this world, and that they were each assigned a role from the Snow White Story. They must play it out to return to their world. The voice has already explained everything to everyone.

Katarina is transported in her bedroom and she sees Magic Mirror Raphael.

Katarina: Mirror, Mirror, who is the most beautiful in the world?.

Raphael: Ah sorry, I am busy with work at the moment. Give me 5 minutes.

Katarina: Okay, take your time, I’ll eat some cookies in the meanwhile.

...5 minutes later.

Raphael: Okay, I am finished. What did you want to ask me?’

Katarina: Mirror, mirror, who is the most beautiful in the world?

Raphael: Princess Snow White

Katarina: Yeah, I totally agree~~~ ! Maria is so charming!

Raphael: Lady Katarina, you got your lines wrong...

Katarina: Oops, that’s right........................ What?! I thought I was the most beautiful in the world! I can’t forgive Snow White for being more beautiful than me!

Snow White Maria knocks on the door. 

Maria: Your Majesty, I have baked some cookies for you!

Katarina: Oh, Snow White, come in!

Katarina eats Maria’s cookies and they are having tea together. Katarina notices that Maria’s cookies are a new kind and finds them delicious. Maria created these new cookies for her. They are having a wonderful time together.

King Geordo storms in the room.

Geordo: Maria Campbell. You are supposed to be my Queen’s rival, are you not? What do you think you’re doing enjoying yourself with her? Please get out of the castle already, you are in the way of my Queen and I flirting together. 

Raphael: And the Queen needs to ask for Snow White to be killed in the forest else we can’t advance the story. 

Queen Katarina sadly calls the hunter. Hunter Keith makes his entrance. 

Katarina (in the verge of tears): Please take Snow White to the forest and ensure that she safely reaches the dwarves’ home.

Keith: *sigh* Big Sister, you got your lines wrong...

Katarina: But even as a lie, I can’t bring myself to ask for my adorable Maria to be killed!

Keith: I understand, your Majesty. I will take Snow White to the forest, kill her and bring her liver back as proof. 

Katarina: Eeeek! Keith! How can you say something so terrifying! I don’t remember raising you like that!

Raphael: Please calm down, Lady Katarina... Your Majesty. These are just Lord Keith’s lines. He will actually help Snow White out and bring back a wild boar’s liver.

Katarina: Ah that’s right. And then I will eat the liver. I wonder what it tastes like.

Keith reminds Katarina and Maria that they need to advance the story. He holds his hand out towards Maria and invites her to go to the forest with him. Doing so, he looks like he is escorting her. Katarina excitedly watches the scene. 

Keith: Well then, Your Majesty, I will take Princess Snow White with me to the forest.

Geordo (looking happy): Sure, please take your time~~~ You can sleep out as many nights as you like~~ In the meanwhile, I will thoroughly take care of my Queen~~~ We are married after all.

Keith glares at Geordo .

Keith: I thought it would be difficult for you to look after the Queen alone, so I took the initiative of calling someone for help.

Keith: Come here, Queen’s attendant.

Hunter Keith has summoned Mary Hunt.

Mary: I am Mary, the Queen’s attendant. I take care of the Queen’s EVERY need so please go back to your official business, Your Majesty.

Geordo: I am the Queen’s husband, so I should be the one taking care of her. Besides, I have already finished all of my work, so there should be no problem. Go sweep the castle or something.

Mary: There still is some remaining business you need to attend to, Your Majesty. Some ladies from the neighborhood wish to have an audience with you, and they are all waiting.

Geordo: An audience? I haven’t heard anything about it.

Mary: Well it has been decided at the last minute. Gentlemen, please take our King to these ladies, will you? They are eagerly waiting for him after all.

After Mary said this, several people with black masks took Geordo away.

Geordo: BUT WE WERE FINALLY MARRIIIIIIIIIIED!!!!

Hunter Keith and Snow White Maria have left, only Queen Katarina, Attendant Mary and Magic Mirror Raphael remain in the room. Mary suggests that Katarina and her take the tea together. When Raphael asks whether he can join them, Mary glares at him.

Hunter Keith and Snow White Maria walk in the forest, then Hunter Keith asks Snow White Maria to run straight ahead to the dwarves’ home. Maria thanks Keith and asks him to give Katarina the cookies on the table of her room. After she leaves, Keith lets out a sigh since Maria, like Katarina, doesn’t seem serious with following the scenario. Keith discreetly watches over Maria up until she enters the dwarves’ home. Then he hunts a wild board and brings back its liver to Queen Katarina. Queen Katarina gives it to the cook and eats it.

After entering the dwarves' home, Snow White Maria sees 7 chairs at the table and 7 beds lined up, but there is no one inside. She falls asleep on one of the beds. The dwarves come back.

Sophia: Oh? There seems to be someone sleeping on our beds.

Nicol: So it seems.

Sophia: Big Brother! Please act like a dwarf! You’re just like usual.

Nicol: Then what is a dwarf like?

Sophia: Well, you know, like a dwarf!

The two seem to be absorbed in their discussion. Sora stops them.

Sora: It’s enough you guys, let’s advance the story.

Sora: I wonder who is sleeping in our beds.

Snow White Maria wakes up and sees everyone in their dwarves’ forms.

Maria: Oh? Even though you’ve become dwarves, your heights didn’t change, huh?

Maria digressed from the scenario again

Sora: Ah, yes. But we have matching clothes.

Maria, Sophia, Nicol and Sora are all talking about how the dwarves’ costumes are cute and convenient.

Maria: Ah but, there should be 7 dwarves. Is there only the 3 of you?

Sophia: The 3 of us?

Sophia goes to the room next door and comes back dragging Alan. Alan is red from embarrassment. 

Maria: Oh, Prince Alan, you are also a dwarf.

Alan: I hate it! I hate being a dwarf! Why must I wear this ridiculous costume! Wearing this hat will give me a lifetime of embarrassment!

Sophia: Oh, come on, Prince Alan! The dwarf’s costume is cute and it looks good on you.

Alan keeps shaking his head.

Nicol: I think it is a fine costume. It might come into fashion in high society.

Nicol said it with a straight face.

Alan: ...........Do you think so?

Sora: Yeah, no, I don’t think so...

Sora: Umm, Prince Alan, I understand that you hate being a dwarf, but we can’t advance the story like this. Please endure it for now.  

Dwarf Sora, Dwarf Sophia, Dwarf Nicol and Dwarf Alan properly introduce themselves as dwarves. Maria wonders why there are only the 4 of them since  they are supposed to be 7. Sora explains that Larna went out to investigate things in the forest, Nathan also went out and got lost, and Laura is currently searching for him. The 3 of them haven’t come back yet and since the forest is wide, they probably won’t by the end of the story. So they should advance the story without them. Snow White Maria also introduces herself. Dwarf Sora asks her why she came to the forest. Snow White Maria tells him what happened with the hunter. 

Sora: That’s terrible. If you like, please live with us.

Maria: Is that alright?

Nicol: Yes, it won’t be a problem. Please stay here as long as you like.

Sophia: Of course, Snow White. If you don’t stay with us, then Lady Katarina... I mean the Queen won’t come into the forest. I can’t stand the thought of the King and the Hunter having the Queen to themselves. 

Sophia said something outside of the scenario.

Alan: What?! She will come here?! Then she will see me in this outfit!

Alan is white as a sheet.

Sora: It will be fine, Prince Alan. Lady Katarina likes cute things after all.

Maria: Oh, that’s right, Lady Katarina will come later. I must bake some sweets.

And then, Snow White came to live with the dwarves.

------------------  Part 2 ------------------------

Certain that Snow White is dead, Queen Katarina asks her magic mirror again who is the most beautiful in the world. But Magic Mirror Raphael answers that it still is Snow White, who now lives with the dwarves in the forest.

Following this, Katarina guesses that it is time for her to head to the forest. She remembers that she has to prepare some poisoned apples. Raphael reminds her that the Queen only uses the poisoned apples on the last time she goes to the forest. The first time, she tries to kill Snow White using a belt. Katarina is surprised that she must head to the forest several times, unlike the story she is familiar with. Raphael suggests that she checks the scenario.

Magic Mirror Raphael also summons Hunter Keith to guide Queen Katarina in the forest. Katarina is surprised that the Queen doesn't go to the forest alone. Keith explains that based on the scenario he isn't supposed to, but if they let her go alone, she won't reach the dwarves' home. Besides, she may decide to ignore the scenario and go wild, so he prefers to tag along. Katarina wants to tell him that it won't happen but it is true that she didn't bother checking the scenario since it was a well-known story. So she complies and lets Keith tag along. Queen Katarina and Hunter Keith are now heading to the dwarves’ home.

Once they arrive, Katarina is surprised that their house is normal sized. The dwarves are not home since Katarina must come when they are out. She is really disappointed that she won’t see everyone in their dwarf form. Katarina is digressing from the scenario again and Keith scolds her.

For now, they must follow the scenario. Queen Katarina must go sell a belt to Snow White Maria, tightly pull it around her waist and make her faint. Katarina says that it is too cruel and that she can't do that to Maria. Keith tells her that she and Maria only need to make it look like it is happening. Then he presses Katarina to start the scene.

Queen Katarina knocks on the door of the dwarves’ home and introduces herself as an old woman selling belts. Snow White Maria, who isn't aware that she is Queen Katarina,  asks for one. But when Snow White Maria opens the door, Katarina recognizes the smell of Maria's muffins and gets excited over them. She has completely blown her cover. Maria invites her to eat them since she has baked them for her. Queen Katarina and Snow White Maria end up having tea together in the dwarves' home.

Keith storms in the dwarves' home.

Katarina: Oh, Keith? What's up?

Keith: "What's up?" Are you kidding me?! You didn't come back no matter how much time passed, so I got worried and came in, and what do I see? Why is the Queen and Snow White having tea together?! The Queen has come to kill Snow White for crying out loud! You can't have tea together! And you too, Snow White! You can't give sweets to the Queen! Both of you, can you please follow the scenario?!

As Keith furiously said this , Katarina and Maria feel sorry  and begrudgingly plays the scene: Queen Katarina ties the belt around Snow White Maria's waist and she collapses like that.

Katarina: Well then, I must go but I'll come again! Thank you for the treats.

Maria: Please, I am sorry I couldn't welcome you better.

Keith: Your Majesty, you shouldn't tell her that you will come back, and Snow White please don't welcome her next time!

Queen Katarina and Hunter Keith return to the castle.

Once they return home, the dwarves see the fainted Maria with a tightened belt around her waist. Maria's acting is so realistic that Dwarf Alan is in panic, but thankfully, Dwarf Sora keeps his cool and, as written in the scenario,  cuts the belt out. Sophia regrets that they were out when Katarina came over. Nicol agrees. Hearing him, Alan notes that Nicol is a nice big brother, unlike "someone". Catching on the mood, Sora takes Nicol aside and asks him if Sophia is aware that she won't be able to see Katarina since she is supposed to come whenever they are out. Nicol says that she hasn't realized yet and that he can't bring himself to tell her. Sora thinks Nicol has it hard as a big brother.

Nicol (whispering in Sora's ear): Still, if necessary, I will change the scenario a bit to let Sophia see her.

Sora pretends that he didn't hear anything.

In the castle, certain that she has killed Snow White Maria this time, Queen Katarina asks her magic mirror again who is the most beautiful in the world. Magic Mirror Raphael replies that it is still Snow White Maria. Queen Katarina gets furious.

Katarina: OK, done. Now I'll eat Maria's cookies and lazy around. And then I'll make preparations for my next outing in the forest.

Raphael: No, first, you make preparations and then you'll rest. Your breaks tend to be very long.

Katarina: Whaaaat? But I will just disguise myself as an old woman again and bring something. The preparations will be over in no time. By the way, what will it be next time? Can I go with the poisoned apples?

Raphael: No, next time will be a comb. You will try to kill Snow White using a comb.

Katarina: A comb? How can you even kill someone with that? Oh, well, if it's a comb, I'll just need to ask a maid to bring me one, it will be quick.

Raphael: No, it won't be a normal comb, but a comb cursed with black magic. You will try to kill her by putting a deadly curse on her with the comb.

Katarina: Eh? A cursed comb? Scary... What the heck that? Where can I find one?

Raphael: It's a shame but I don't know either. The scenario only mentions that the Queen prepared one.

Katarina: Eeeeeh?! I have to prepare it?! I don't know where to find one! It's not like I can find a shop in the neighborhood which sells some!

Queen Katarina is troubled, so her attendant Mary knocks on the door.

Mary: Your Majesty, may I help you if there is something troubling you?

Katarina: Thank you Mary, but even if I ask you, I don't think you'll know. Do you know something about a comb cursed with black magic?

Mary: Yes, I know.

Katarina: Yeah, I guess you wouldn't kn... Wait, you know?!

Katarina gets up from her chair at once and opens the door wide. Mary is standing there, smiling.

Katarina: Mary, if I heard you correctly, you said you know something about a comb cursed with black magic?!

Mary: Yes, I know.

Katarina: And by any chance, do you also know where I can find it?

Mary: Yes, I have one.

Katarina: Ah, I see... So you have one. Wait, you have one?! Why?!

Mary: To be honest, I have been into collecting this kind of goods lately.

Katarina: Eh? When you say “this kind of goods”, do you mean “cursed goods”?! How can you get into this?! If you have to collect something, then collect some lovely items!

After Queen Katarina passionately says this, Attendant Mary puts her hand over her cheek with a troubled expression.

Mary: Well, no matter how much work I send his way, how busy I keep him or how many traps I set, there is this mouse who won't learn his lesson and keep trying to break into your room. So I have started collecting these items so that I can use them to eliminate him.

Katarina: Oh, so that's why! There is a mouse in my room! This is indeed troublesome. It would be terrible if it ate my stock of food. So you have been collecting them for me! Thank you Mary!

Mary: Oh, please, I am your attendant so this is only natural.

Mary is smiling, but after listening to her, Magic Mirror Raphael is sweating cold sweat.

Raphael (whispering to himself): And I was wondering why I didn't see him ever since the start of the story. So this is what she put the King through...

And then, Queen Katarina safely obtained a cursed comb.

Mary: If you put this on a person's head, then they will get cursed and temporarily lose consciousness. But if it is removed, they will wake up. If you don't leave it for days, then it won't cause any harm. I can't use it to eliminate the mouse, but this is the perfect tool for the scenario.

Several days later, Queen Katarina took the cursed comb that she got from her attendant Mary and headed (with Hunter Keith) to the dwarves' home in the forest, where Snow White Maria lived.

------------------ Part 3 ------------------------

On the way, Keith is making Katarina repeat several times what she can and can't do, to make sure everything will go well.

Keith: Repeat it again.

Katarina: I am going to the dwarves' home to kill Snow White. I am not going there to play. So I won't go in and have tea nor sweets. Once I put the comb on her head, I will go back right away. I won't make any detour.

Keith: Good. So please follow the scenario this time, OK?

Katarina: Yes, I'll play it perfectly this time. I think I am getting used to this malicious evil queen role. Please leave it to me.

Keith: Now I am getting worried...

They reach the dwarves' home.

Katarina (disguised): Hello, I am an old peddlar lady. Young Lady, would you like a cursed comb?

If he had been with her, Hunter Keith would have retorted : "Wait! You said *cursed* comb! You can't let her know that it is cursed!",  but unfortunately he wasn’t.

Maria: Oh, hello Lady Katarina... I mean, Old Lady.

Despite her disguise being exactly the same as before, she pretended she didn't recognize her.

Katarina: Hello, Young Lady. The item of the day is this cursed comb. Come on, try it.

The Queen disguised as an old woman (but Snow White already knew it was her) recommended her the cursed comb.

Maria: A cursed comb? How scary. What will happen once I put it on?

Since she knew the other person, Snow White Maria casually asked her this question.

Katarina: Ah, well you see, once you put this comb on, you will lose consciousness and collapse, but if it is removed right away, then you won't suffer any damage. This cursed comb really is safe. Since it is part of the scenario, I would like you to put it on.

The Queen honestly explained everything to her. If the hunter had been there, he would have probably made retorts.

Maria: I see. If this is part of the scenario, then it can't be helped. So please put it on my head Lady Katarina... I mean Old Lady.

Katarina: No. Even though you will instantly wake up when the dwarves get home, you might get hurt if you faint in the entrance hall. And if the dwarves are late, you might get cold and get sick. I’d rather you faint in a bed.

Maria: But if I faint in a bed, they might think that I am just sleeping and they may not wake me up.

Katarina: Yeah, you have a point. But I still think it would be dangerous for you to faint in the entrance hall...

The two of them were deeply pondering what to do. Keith arrives.

Keith: Geez, I told you to come back right away, didn't I? Even after I said this much, what are you doing here?

Katarina: Ah, perfect timing, Keith... no I mean Mr. Hunter. Can you give us your opinion on something?

Katarina tells Keith about their problem.

Keith: ...So you have been pondering whether to have her faint in the entrance hall or in a bed?

After listening to the story, Hunter Keith felt a slight headache and held his head in his hands.

Keith: Like Snow White said, if she faints comfortably set up in a bed then people will think that she is sleeping. She won't fulfill her role! And if things don't go well, she will stay like this with the comb on her head without being woken up! On the other hand, if she faints in the entrance hall, then people will find her right away! Having her faint in the entrance hall is good! Let's go with having her faint in the entrance hall!

Katarina: But she might hit her head the moment she faints...

Keith: Then we won’t let her fall over. I’ll catch her.

Katarina: And she may catch a cold...

Keith: The weather is quite warm so it should be fine. But if you're that worried about it, then let's put a light sheet over her.

Like this, Keith found a solution for each of Katarina's worries. They somehow decided to follow the scenario and have Snow White Maria faint in the entrance hall.

Katarina: OK, I'll put it on you now.

Maria: Yes, please.

Katarina: Here!

When Queen Katarina put the comb on Snow White Maria's head, she lost consciousness right away. Hunter Keith caught her, softly lied her down in the entrance hall, and then put a cloth over her.

Keith: Now we only need to wait for the dwarves to come home. Let's return to the castle Your Majesty.

Katarina: Hey, if she sleeps in a hard place like this, won't her body hurt when she wakes up?

After she said this, Keith held his head in his hands once again.

The dwarves come home and find Snow White Maria in the entrance. They are shocked and completely confused by the situation. Dwarf Nicol tries to calmly analyze the situation: Snow White Maria is lying on cushions lined up on the floor of the entrance hall. There is a cushion under her head and a sheet covering her body. From the look of it, she seems to be sleeping on the entrance hall’s floor. But why in the world would she sleep there? If she was sleepy, why didn't she sleep in her bed? Why did she take cushions? As Dwarf Nicol is pondering these, he notices a note put on the side of the face of the sleeping Snow White Maria. Everything is clear after reading the note. He shows it to everyone.

"Princess Snow White is unconscious because I put a cursed comb on her head. Once you are home, please remove it. She will wake up right after. There won't be any side effects so please be at ease. We caught her when she lost consciousness so she didn't hit her head. We borrowed and spread some cushions so that her body won't hurt from sleeping on the floor. Things should be fine but if there is any side effect or any problem, please contact the Queen at the castle."

Sophia: This writing... and this contact address...

Realizing something, Dwarf Sophia opened her mouth but Dwarf Nicol quietly shook his head.

The dwarves removed the cursed comb and Snow White Maria woke up. There was not any side effect.

At the castle, certain that Snow White was dead this time, The Queen asks her magic mirror who is the most beautiful in the world. The magic mirror replies again that it is Snow White. Hearing this the Queen gets extremely furious and decides to use poisoned apples this time.

Katarina is happy that she will finally use the poisoned apples, which means it will be her last attempt at killing Snow White. She is motivated to head to the dwarves' home right now with poisoned apples. Though, she wonders if she should prepare a glass coffin and leave it at the dwarves' home beforehand. Raphael says that it is the dwarves who should prepare the glass coffin, not her. But  Katarina wonders if the dwarves can afford buying a glass coffin since they don't seem rich. Raphael agrees with her, so he decides to confirm with headquarters who should prepare the glass coffin. Katarina is surprised to hear that there are headquarters and probably subdivisions. Raphael explains that he is in charge of the Snow White's stepmother's room subdivision. Then he asks her to wait a little while while he confirms things with headquarters. Katarina eats some sweets in the meanwhile. After a little while, Raphael tells Katarina the answer he got: the glass coffin is prepared at the dwarves's cabin and they don't need to worry about it.

------------------------- Part 4 --------------------------

Queen Katarina feels reassured that she can head right away to the dwarves’ place with poisoned apples. She calls her attendant. Mary answers right away.

Katarina: Mary, I have something to ask you.

Mary: Sure Your Majesty, what is it?

Since Attendant Mary has appeared instantly, Magic Mirror Raphael suspects that she is staying in front of the door at all times. But it doesn’t seem to bother the Queen.

Katarina: I will need some poisoned apples. Like that cursed comb from before, do you have some safe-to-use poisoned apples that would make someone faint when they eat them, while enabling people to wake them up?

Raphael: There is no way such a convenient thing exists...

Mary: Yes, I have some.

Raphael: You have?! / Katarina: Yaaaay~~ As expected of Mary!

Attendant Mary is only interested in Queen Katarina, so she ignores Magic mirror’s Raphael’s shocked reaction.

Mary: If someone eats the apple, it will get stuck in their throat and they will faint. But if someone raises their body afterwards and taps their back to expel the apple piece from their throat, then they will wake up right away. And like before, there won't be any side effects.

Katarina: I see~~ So it will be all good if someone raises her body and taps her back. I must write it on the next note. I thought she was supposed to be woken up by a prince’s kiss though...?

Mary (confused): Woken up by a prince's kiss? What fairytale is this?

Katarina: Well, we’re talking about the Snow White story, right? Isn't she supposed to be woken up by a prince's kiss?

Mary: No, I have never heard such thing.

Katarina: Hmmm... Then I guess some things differ...

Attendant Mary is about to get out of the room to prepare the poisoned apples, but she is stopped by Magic Mirror Raphael.

Raphael: In the scenario, the Queen is supposed to bite into the apple first to reassure Snow White. So could you reduce the amount of poison to half or something?

Katarina: What?! There is a part like that in the scenario?!

Queen Katarina is shocked because she still hasn't checked the scenario.

Mary: I understand. Then I will inject poison in only half of them.

Attendant Mary leaves.

Raphael (mutter): She really can do anything... She can't possibly be using poison on the King... No, she wouldn't.

Katarina: Should I really bite into the apple before giving it to Snow White? And on top of this I must give her an apple which I have already bitten into?

Raphael: Yes. Snow White keeps getting herself in dangerous situations, so the dwarves ask her to be careful. The apples that the old peddlar lady showed her looked delicous but she couldn’t eat them just like that. So the old lady bit into the apple first to show Snow White that it was safe. This is how it is in the scenario.

Katarina: Yeah I guess it would show that it is safe, but I wouldn't want to eat an apple which was already bitten by an old peddlar lady that I don't know.

Raphael: Yeah, I agree, but this is how it is in the scenario.

Mary comes back with the poisoned apples.

Mary: Here are the apples. The right one contains poison, the left one does not. I have left a little bruise on the poisoned one, so please don't mix them up.

Attendant Mary gives the apples to the Queen.

Katarina: So the right one contains poison, and the left one doesn’t. The poisoned one has a little bruise on it. I got it. Thanks as always, Mary.

Queen Katarina heads to the dwarves' home in the forest (with Hunter Keith).

In the meanwhile, at the dwarves’ home. The dwarves are making preparations before going to work.

Dwarf Sora asks Snow White Maria to be cautious, not to trust people so easily, nor eat or use things that she receives from strangers Snow White Maria cheerfully says she will be careful but she doesn’t seem to have any sense of danger. Sora isn’t reassured but the story won't advance if they don't leave work. Dwarf Sora notifies everyone that they will set off now, but Sophia asks to stay home this time, since Katarina will visit while they are at work. She says this while inflating her cheeks. She seems to have realized that she won't get to see Katarina if she follows the scenario. Sora explains that they all need to go out for the story to progress because the Queen won't come if they stay home. Sora actually thinks Katarina would rather ignore the scenario, but he keeps this thought to himself. Sophia says she really wants Katarina to see their cute costumes, and see Katarina's costume as well. She appeals to Nicol. Nicol can't resist his adorable sister's earnest plea and suggests they all go to work but return early. They will hide behind the brushwood and keeps and eye on Katarina's coming. Sora would rather follow the scenario to the letter, but Sophia is ecstatic over Nicol's suggestion. The dwarves finally decide to do as Nicol suggests. Alan suggests they also change clothes not to be found out too easily, but Sophia rejects it.

The dwarves all leave for work and only Snow White Maria remains in the house. Before long, she hears the familiar voice of the old peddlar lady.

Katarina: Hello, I am an humble old lady selling apples. Young Lady, would you like some?

When Snow White Maria opens the door, Queen Katarina is standing there, disguised as an old lady like always.

Maria: Hello old lady. So today you are selling apples?

Katarina: Yes, I am. They are delicious. How about one?

Hunter Keith has been coaching her, so Queen Katarina makes smooth replies. She has memorized various possible lines because of her previous failures.

Katarina: They are bright red, sweet and delicious.

Queen Katarina takes a poisoned apple from her basket and holds it towards Snow White Maria. Snow White Maria takes the apple.

Maria: Oh my, this apple looks delicious.

As Snow White Maria is about to bite into the apple, Queen Katarina panics.

Katarina: Hey, wait! Isn't Snow White supposed to be cautious and not bite into the apple first?!

Queen Katarina grabs the apple without thinking. Snow White Maria remembers the dwarves’ words of caution.

Maria: Ah, that's right! They asked me to be careful but I completely forgot about it.

Queen Katarina frowns.

Katarina: The world is dangerous nowadays so you must remain careful. It is unreasonable to eat an apple from someone who suddenly shows up at your door. Especially since you are cute, bad people are likely to approach you. Once something happens it is too late, so you should really be careful.

Maria: Yes, I will.

Seeing that Snow White Maria has reflected on it, Queen Katarina nods.

Katarina: In times like this, you should have the other person taste for poison. If they are fine after eating it, then you can eat it too.

Queen Katarina takes the apple back from Snow White Maria's hand.

Katarina: Well then, I'll eat it first. Ummm... If I remember correctly, the one without poison was... Huh?...Umm... Ah, the right one!

Because of the unexpected events, Queen Katarina has forgotten which apple is poisoned. She ends up taking a big bite of the poisoned one.

Katarina: *chomp*

Queen Katarina falls down after eating the poisoned apple.

Maria: La-Lady Katarina!

Snow White Maria's scream resounds in the area.

Keith: Wait, why is it the Queen who fainted? Could it be that she has eaten the poisoned one?!

Hunter Keith who has been watching the situation from nearby jumps out in panic.

Sophia: Why did Lady Katarina collapse? What happened?!

Back early, Dwarf Sophia also jumps out from behind the brushwoods. Dwarf Nicol, Sora and Alan also comes out.

Keith: Eh? Why are the dwarves here? They are supposed to be out at the moment!

Nicol: We have our reasons, but more importantly, what is the situation here?

Hearing Dwarf Nicol's calm reply, Hunter Keith decides to ignore the dwarves' issue for the moment.

Keith: I was also watching from nearby but I don't know the exact circumstances. I guess she ate the poisoned apple. Is that it, Princess Snow White?

Hunter Keith asks Snow White Maria since she probably knows the exact circumstances. She is shaken from witnessing Queen Katarina suddenly falling down in front of her eyes, but she is still able to answer.

Maria: I was about to eat the apple that she gave me, but then Lady Katarina told me that it was too dangerous and that she would poison taste it for me first...

Keith: So she really mixed them up and ate the poisoned one.

Hunter Keith makes a deep sigh.

Sophia: So Lady Katarina ate the poisoned apple. Will she be alright?

Dwarf Sophia has tearful eyes. Snow White Maria is already crying while covering her face.

Maria: Because of me, Lady Katarina...

Keith: No it will be fine. Even if it is a poisoned apple, she will wake up once we expel the apple from her mouth. There is no problem. You don't need to feel responsible for anything, she is paying for her own mistake.

Hunter Keith comforts Dwarf Sophia and Snow White Maria.

Nicol: You said we need to expel the poison but how can we do it? Should we make her vomit?

Keith: The apple is supposed to be stuck in her throat, so we need to tap her back to expel the apple piece.

Alan: Seriously, what's with these? There already was that suspicious comb the other day. Who the hell gives you these stuff?

Keith: Ah, well... There is this efficient attendant at the castle. She has been collecting a lots of these goods.

Alan: Is that so? She must be pretty weird to collect all these dubious things.

Keith: Yeah... Anyway, we must tap her back and expel the apple from her throat.

Sora: Well then, I'll raise her body so that she can expel it more easily.

Dwarf Sora extends his hand, but Hunter Keith blocks it right away.

Keith: No, I can't let an unrelated person hold the Queen. I will do it.

Maria: No it is because of me that Lady Katarina ingested the poison so I will do it.

Sophia: In that case, Big Brother will do it.

Everyone starts quarelling.

Maria: It should be me!

Keith: No, me!

Sophia: No, Big Brother!

Alan: Anyone will do, dammit!

Everyone suddenly see the apple piece flying away after getting expelled from Queen Katarina’s throat.

Katarina: Aaaah, I thought I would die!

Everyone turns their heads towards Queen Katarina who has woken up. She is held by Dwarf Sora.

All: Eeeeeeh?!

Everyone yells at Dwarf Sora.

Sora: Well, I am just holding her... You guys have pretty faces that would make dozens of women fall for you but you have no experience with women.

His words secretly gave a blow to Hunter Keith’s heart.

Katarina: Aaaah~ It seems like I mixed the apples up and ate the poisoned one~ Thank you for saving me!

The now-resuscitated Queen Katarina stands up from the inside of Dwarf Sora’s arms. Dwarf Sora is giving her a hand. Looking at them, Hunter Keith thinks “as expected of him” in his heart. Dwarf Sophia and Snow White Maria comes towards Queen Katarina.

Sophia: I am so glad that you are alright.

Maria: Thank goodness you woke up. When I saw you collapse right before my eyes, I really didn't know what to do.

Katarina (smile): I am sorry for worrying you.

Katarina: Come to think of it, based on the story, I thought I wouldn't be able to see you, but it seems like we could. Your dwarf costume looks cute, Sophia.

Dwarf Sophia looks incredibly happy and giggles.

Sophia: Big Brother looks cute too.

Dwarf Sophia pulls Dwarf Nicol.

Katarina (shocked): It looks good on you but how come you look so alluring in a dwarf’s costume?!

Nicol: Oh, really? Thank you.

Katarina: Ah but Alan and Sora also look good in their dwarf's costumes. I guess good-looking people look good no matter what they wear.

Queen Katarina spots Dwarf Alan despite his efforts not to be seen. He has been highly displeased about his costume, but....

Alan: Is-Is that so~~?

Dwarf Alan doesn’t look displeased at all. Dwarf Sora is speechless.

Katarina: Ah, but wasn't there 7 dwarves? Why is there only 4 of you?

Dwarf Sora explains the reason to Queen Katarina and Hunter Keith like he did to Snow White Maria days before. Katarina thinks it makes sense since Larna would follow whatever piques her interest and Nathan would get lost the moment people take their eyes off him.

Katarina's stomach grumbles, so Maria invites Katarina to eat the cake she baked. She also invites everyone else to join them. As a result, everyone has tea at the dwarves's home, while feeling like they are forgetting something important.

In the meanwhile, Prince Cyrus and his attendant Dewey are walking around the forest while searching for a glass coffin. They can’t find it, so they guess that something unexpected must have happened. Attendant Dewey splits with Prince Cyrus to check on the dwarves' home. Prince Cyrus is waiting alone in the middle of the forest.

Prince Cyrus feels nervous over having to ask Snow White Maria to marry him for the sake of the scenario. He hasn't been able to sleep ever since he got the role’ of the prince. And now that this day has come, the princess isn't where she is supposed to be. Actually, there is no one here.

Then he suddenly hears some rustling and sees a familiar face: Guy Anderson / Laura. He seems to have been lost for days in the forest and his clothes looks worn out. Looking at him, Prince Cyrus wonders if something happened to Snow White Maria. But Dwarf Laura replies that it isn't related because he hasn't met her yet. Prince Cyrus is confused. Dwarf Laura explains that he has been searching for Nathan ever since the start of the story and never returned home. He eventually found him, but now he can’t remember the way back. So after tying a rope around Nathan, they have been walking around the forest searching for the way back all this time. Prince Cyrus feels sorry for Dwarf Laura. He takes a look at the rope that Dwarf Laura is holding but Nathan is not at the end. The rope has been cut. Prince Cyrus awkwardly tells Dwarf Laura that Dwarf Nathan has gotten away. Dwarf Laura loses consciousness over the shock. Prince Cyrus holds him in panic and speaks to him, but he won't wake up. He is at a loss over what to do and wishes for his attendant to come back quick.

In the meanwhile, Attendant Dewey is on his way to check on the dwarves' home. He sees Dwarf Nathan. As he knows about his terrible sense of direction, he chases after him thinking he might be lost. He catches up to him and gets confirmation that he was right on. Dwarf Nathan thanks him for chasing after him and asks him for directions. But Attendant Dewey realizes that he has gotten lost too. So they both search for the way back together.

In the meanwhile in the castle, King Geordo has broken through the many traps set by Attendant Mary, and has finally reached the Queen's room.

Geordo: Now, my Queen, let's deepen our marriage!

But when he opens the door, the room is completely empty.

Geordo: Eh? Why is she not here?

Based on the scenario, the Queen is supposed to come back right after making Snow White eat the poisoned apple.

Geordo: Let's see... Mirror, mirror! Magic Mirror!

King Geordo decides to ask Magic Mirror Raphael, so he calls him. However, he doesn’t get any answer. When he looks closely, there is a paper stuck in the mirror: "I am currently absent. Please reiterate your request on another time.".

Geordo: ...

King Geordo freezes up and makes a very deep sigh.

Geordo: Even though we were assigned the role of a married couple, I couldn't even hold her hand...

King Geordo's sad muttering resounds in the completely empty room.

In the meanwhile, Queen Katarina is happily enjoying Snow White Maria' sweets.

And like this, Snow White, the Queen and the others lived happily ever after.

Katarina hears a chime and wakes up in Claes Manor, on the couch of her room. It seems like she has dozed off while eating sweets. "What a weird dream". Then Katarina resumes eating her sweets.

Hamefura LN 12 Summary - Chapter 3

I have written some kind of summary of Hamefura Light novel Volume 12 in the form of a list of notes.

Chapter 3: Bodyguard

Katarina arrives at the Ministry.

Sora will be Katarina’s bodyguard in the Ministry.

Luigi has made a formal request to the Ministry to assign a bodyguard to Katarina while she is working.

Sora has been chosen because he is competent, works in the same department as her, and is in the know regarding her dark magic activities.

Sora tells Katarina that she is lucky to have such a good father.

Luigi has always respected Katarina’s wishes despite what others said.

He allowed her to work at the Ministry so that she wouldn’t marry Geordo right away, and he assigned her bodyguards instead of making her stop working.

Katarina feels like she is blessed with her family.

Laura and Nix learn that Sora has become Katarina’s bodyguard.

Since Laura and Nix will resume their mission from yesterday and Sora will work as her bodyguard, Katarina is worried that their department might be understaffed.

Laura and Nix were not aware that Sora had become her bodyguard. Katarina is troubled when they ask why since she is not sure that she can tell them the truth.

Looking at Katarina’s troubled face, Laura tells her that she doesn’t need to tell them if she can’t. Laura and Nix both ask her to be careful.

Katarina ponders about the danger looming on her.

Based on Laura and Nix’s serious reactions, Katarina wonders if it is common for ministry employees to be assigned bodyguards. Sora replies that it is not common as far as he is concerned.

Katarina realizes that despite being in the safest place in the safest country of the world, there can still be dangerous people around. As proven by the succession struggle where royals killed each other in the royal palace itself.

She wonders how dangerous Marquis Randall can be if Luigi considers him a threat.

She makes up her mind to be careful for the sake of the people who care for her.

Katarina and Sora head to the special room where Katarina and Maria work on deciphering their covenants, then meet Cyrus.

Cyrus wants to talk to Katarina.

Cyrus wants to confirm something with Katarina. He has been investigating whether Frey Randall and Ginger Tucker can join the Ministry. There should be no problem with Ginger, but Frey can’t because she is “a candidate to become Prince Geordo’s fiancée”.

Katarina is shocked and confused. She hasn't heard anything about it despite seeing both Geordo and Frey recently.

Cyrus is surprised that she didn’t know about this. Katarina sadly says that gathering information is not her forte.

As Katarina seems deeply shaken, Cyrus changes the topic and asks why Sora is here. Sora explains that he now works as Katarina’s bodyguard, as per Duke Claes’s request.

Cyrus is confused over Katarina suddenly getting a bodyguard. Katarina gives a vague explanation, and Cyrus doesn’t pry further.

Cyrus mutters, “What in the world is Marquis Randall thinking…?”. Hearing this, Katarina sharply asks Cyrus if he has a problem with Marquis Randall too. Cyrus is confused and asks Katarina to explain herself. Katarina comes clean and explains that Sora has been hired to protect her from Marquis Randall.

Cyrus understands the situation, but he was actually talking about the issue of Frey Randall being Geordo’s fiancée candidate.

Katarina shockingly realizes that Frey is actually Marquis Randall’s daughter.

Marquis Randall causing trouble to the Claes family and Frey Randall announcing that she is Geordo’s fiancée candidate are probably related.

Katarina wants to confirm things with Frey

Katarina asks Cyrus permission to see Frey at the Academy of Magic.

Cyrus can’t allow her to meet someone related to the family who supposedly wants to harm her.

Maria suggests that she goes instead since she is not related to this case.

Cyrus will accompany Maria to ensure her safety.

Katarina talks to Sora about her second biggest fear.

Sora is surprised that Katarina let Maria go in her stead. He was convinced that she would insist on going herself.

Katarina wonders if she looks so unreasonable to him. Sora replies that Katarina tends to lose herself when it comes to the people dear to her.

Sora looks sincerely concerned, so Katarina decides to tell him about the second thing she fears the most: suddenly parting from the one she loves and being unable to see or talk to them anymore.

Katarina is always eager to help the ones precious to her because she doesn’t want to lose them.

Katarina guesses that her fear must come from her sudden death in her past life. She regrets that she can’t see her family or friends anymore. She realized this fear after realizing that she was terrified of falling in love.

Sora is surprised to learn that Katarina has lost people dear to her, but he understands the feeling because he has also lost someone precious to him.

Katarina explains that she treasures the people precious to her because of this fear, but it would come to nothing if she caused trouble to them, like how she caused trouble to Sora in Ocean Port Town.

Sora gently says that he doesn’t mind her causing him a little trouble. Even so, Katarina is determined to look out for herself.

Frey is absent from school.

Maria and Cyrus are back, but they haven't found Frey. She seems to be absent from school for family reasons.

They have brought Ginger instead since she has something that she wants to tell Katarina.

Ginger is hesitant to talk in front of everyone, so Katarina asks everyone to get out.

Ginger talks to Katarina (Ginger’s family circumstances).

Frey talked to Ginger about her family when Ginger was annoyed over receiving a letter from her father.

Ginger is the daughter Baron Tucker had with a servant he slept with.

She was initially raised at her mother’s home, but when her mother died, she was brought to the baron’s house. She lived apart from the main residence.

The baron completely ignored her and she was raised by servants.

The baron took an interest in her when she awakened her magic. She was then brought to the main residence, and his legal wife and children were jealous of her.

Katarina feels sorry for her, but Ginger doesn’t think it was that bad: she could live freely, and the servants that took care of her really cared about her. After all, they weren’t paid for this.

Ginger talks to Katarina (Frey’s family circumstances).

Ginger tells Katarina that Frey adores her since Katarina has made her the person she is today.

Ever since she was a child, Frey has been told that she only lived to serve as a tool for Marquis Randall. She spent all her time acquiring skills to be useful to him, and whenever she made a mistake, he would violently beat her.

Hearing this, Katarina remembers how somber and resigned Frey looked the first time she met her. She also recalls their conversation back then, what she told her and how she brightened up afterwards. Now that she understands what Frey went through, Katarina feels outraged.

Katarina tells Ginger that Frey is calling herself Geordo’s fiancee candidate. Ginger is shocked because this does not make any sense. Frey wants to work at the Ministry and would never dare steal the fiancé of her dearest Katarina. They both agree that she has probably been forced into this.

Katarina is determined to save Frey.

Katarina gets permission to leave work early to investigate Frey’s situation.

Katarina contacts all her friends to gather information about Frey.

Katarina discusses Frey’s situation with her friends (+ Mary)

Mary is the first to arrive. She has booked a room in the Ministry to discuss the issue with ease.

Mary has heard the rumor about Frey Randall calling herself Geordo’s fiancée candidate, but Frey has never said it herself. It is something Marquis Randall is spreading.

According to Mary, Marquis Randall claims that Katarina has no intention of marrying Geordo since she joined the ministry to avoid marrying him. He also claims that Katarina is a talented employee who enjoys her work at the Ministry, so she would rather keep working there. As a result, he suggests that Geordo marry his daughter instead.

Katarina can’t deny the claim because it is mostly true.

Katarina remembers what her father said about her possibly losing the one she loves before she realizes her feelings.

Mary adds that Marquis Randall also claims that Frey can’t make the declaration herself because she is busy with student council work and her studies. Frey is not at the academy, so she might be held captive at home.

Katarina wants to save Frey right away, but Mary convinces her that it would be pointless because they would just be politely sent away. Katarina can’t calm down when imagining Frey’s ordeal. Mary tells her that Marquis Randall can’t harm her if he wants to set her up as Geordo’s fiancée. Katarina calms down and blames herself for rushing to action again.

Frey used to be called “The Doll Princess” before she enrolled at the academy, because her eyes showed no emotions and her smiles were artificial. Mary is impressed that such a person could stand up to Marquis Randall.

Mary considers Marquis Randall as someone who labels people as “can use” / “can’t use”. During the only time she interacted with him, she had the unpleasant feeling that he was appraising her.

Katarina discusses Frey’s situation with her friends (+ Keith + Sophia)

Keith and Sophia arrive.

Keith was worried about Katarina possibly running wildly, so he preferred coming as soon as possible rather than waiting at home. Katarina reassures him by telling him that Mary stopped her before it came to that. Keith feels relieved and tells her that she has grown up. Keith’s words and gaze make Katarina want to call him “Mom”.

Sophia came as fast as she could, but Nicol didn’t get the message because he was at work.

Keith and Sophia haven't brought any new information compared to what Mary has gathered.

Keith knew about the rumor about Frey, but he didn’t tell Katarina because he was afraid that she would run wildly while the info was not confirmed. Katarina pleads guilty. Mary still thinks that Keith should have told her because Katarina was shaken when she learned about it. Keith apologizes to Katarina.

Mary and Keith ponder Marquis Randall’s motive. Marquis Randall probably wants to have Geordo as insurance in case things don’t work out with Jeffrey. Geordo wouldn’t let himself be manipulated, but people might think otherwise since Geordo feigns friendliness with them.

Katarina discusses Frey’s situation with her friends (+ Alan)

Alan arrives, but Geordo is not with him.

Geordo is not free to move around because Marquis Randall’s people are sticking to him like glue.

Mary asks Alan to give more details about Geordo’s situation.

Now that the harvest festival is over, Katarina and Keith are going back home.

Keith tells Katarina that Marquis Randall is currently causing trouble to the Claes Family.

Marquis Randall and other families have been asking the Claes Family whether Katarina really intends to marry Geordo.

Marquis Randall is not on good terms with Jeffrey despite leading his faction.

Marquis Randall and Susanna Randall are rumored to be on bad terms with each other and that she is not living at home as a result.

On the next day, Katarina goes to work at the Ministry.

Laura and Nix will go out on a mission in disguise.

Laura and Nix will grudgingly dress up as plain manual workers.

Laura is handsome when dressed as a man.

Laura can’t take Nathan with him because he can’t afford to have him getting lost.

Laura’s current face is not his true face because “a lady should never show her true face.”

Lisa and Nix’s backstory

Lisa always talks with a plush doll because she can’t talk because of a wound on her throat. The plush doll is, in fact, a magic tool that can read the vibrations of her throat.

The plush doll is something that Nix requested the Ministry to make before, when she was depressed over being unable to talk anymore. Both of them were moved when it worked.

Nix started acting as a narcissist right after she acquired the plush doll. Lisa thinks it must be because he thought she wouldn’t look as weird talking with a plush doll if he acted weird right next to her. While it may have been an act at the beginning, Nix really became a narcissist afterward.

Lisa could use a less visible magic tool if she wanted, but she keeps using the plush doll because she doesn’t want Nix to remain the only weirdo left.

Katarina and Sora work on delivering packages with Tank Top.

Katarina ponders Lisa and Nix’s story.

She wonders if her coworkers are not simple weirdos after all.

Sora tells Katarina that most people in the department actually know this story, but Katarina is the only one who directly heard it from Lisa.

Sora guesses that their coworkers must trust Katarina because she is an honest idiot.

Tank Top’s back story

Katarina asks Tank Top if he has a deep reason for wearing tank tops all year long.

Tank Top always wears tank tops because it enables him to admire his arm muscles at all times.

Katarina is shocked. Sora teasingly asks Tank Top whether he doesn’t want to admire his leg muscles too.

Tank Top replies that he would indeed like to admire his leg muscles too. He originally wore both tank tops and shorts, but he got cautioned by his superior because it was an improper work outfit. After he heavily insisted, he was allowed to wear either tank tops or shorts, but not both. He chose to wear tank tops because he looks at his arm muscles more often than his leg muscles. However, when he is home, he removes all his clothes and exercises.

He proposes to show Katarina his leg muscles, ready to remove his pants. Katarina politely refuses.

Sora knows about his coworkers because they live in the same dorms.

Sora is not surprised by Tank Top’s story because he always sees him admiring his muscles in the dorm. Katarina wished Sora had prevented her from asking if he already knew.

Living in the same dorms as his coworkers enables Sora to learn more about them.

Most of the people that Sora knows live in the dorm since the rent is affordable despite being in the capital. However, Nathan and Laura don’t live in the dorms.

The Ministry grounds are complex, so Nathan would get lost if he lived in the dorms. Nathan actually lives in a nearby town straight ahead of the Ministry. He uses a magic tool to safely commute to the Ministry.

Sora doesn’t know where Laura lives. Actually, he doesn’t know much about him.

Katarina talks to Nathan while taking him to another department.

Katarina is asked to take Nathan to another department so that he won’t get lost.

Katarina asks Nathan if he has ever seen Laura’s true face. Nathan says he hasn’t since Laura doesn’t want anyone to see it.

Katarina asks Nathan what his real face looks like. When he shows her, Katarina can see that his face has no special features and is easily forgettable.

Nathan observes people. He can tell that despite how he acts, Nix is actually clever. He can also tell that Katarina is not enthusiastic about her dark magic lessons.

Katarina confides to him that she thinks dark magic is bad. Nathan kindly listens to her worries and tells her that he doesn’t think dark magic is absolutely bad. For example, it could be considered a good thing when it is used to erase someone’s painful memories. There are multiple perspectives on dark magic.

Nathan invites Katarina to think about why dark magic was created in the first place. He also encourages her to think of dark magic as something that could save someone’s life.

Katarina heads to her dark magic lesson with Raphael.

Katarina talks about dark magic with Raphael.

Raphael immediately notices Katarina’s mood change regarding her dark magic lessons. He noticed that she wasn’t enthusiastic about them.

Katarina tells Raphael about her earlier discussion with Nathan regarding dark magic, and how she should consider dark magic as something that can save someone.

Raphael agrees with Nathan. Despite what Marchioness Dieke did to him and his mother, her original purpose was to save her son, which is not absolutely bad.

Katarina is surprised that Raphael can objectively ponder the feelings of his mother’s killer.

Raphael explains that working at the Ministry has enabled the wounds of his heart to heal. Thanks to it, he can objectively look back on this incident now.

Katarina is amazed and relieved. She has been afraid all this time that these dark magic lessons would make Raphael recall bad memories.

Raphael replies that she doesn’t need to worry about this. He is quite happy to teach her dark magic because it gives him an opportunity to have her all to himself.

Lunchtime.

Katarina usually meets Sora at the dining hall and eats with him, but he doesn’t seem to be here today.

Katarina meets Maria instead, so they decide to have lunch together.

Maria is not with Dewey because he is out of the office today. He has planned to go shopping with his siblings. As for Ronnie, he works while going to school.

Sora and Cyrus join them.

Cyrus has been making efforts toward Maria.

He now eats at the dining hall occasionally to get used to women.

He still can’t sit opposite Maria.

His progress is very slow compared to Dewey, who now takes advice from Sora.

Cyrus explains how academy students are scouted.

It is the period when the Ministry starts sending invitations to academy students.

Ministry employees give courses at the academy. They take this opportunity to find promising students.

Katarina asks Cyrus whether student council members are sent an invitation. Cyrus replies that it is the case as long as they are not an heir to their family name.

Katarina doesn’t know if Frey has this kind of constraint, so she tells Cyrus that she wishes that students could be sent an invitation regardless of their family circumstances, as long as they have a strong desire to join the Ministry. Cyrus replies that he will look into it.

Katarina and Maria are working on deciphering their respective covenants.

Katarina talks with Maria about the dangerous sides of light magic.

The Dark Covenant mainly contains warnings regarding the use of dark magic.

The Light Covenant also contains warnings regarding the use of light magic.

Maria thinks that the warnings might refer to the dangerous sides of light magic. For example, if light magic could heal any wounds, people wouldn’t care how injured they get as long as they don’t die.

Katarina talks with Maria about her earlier discussion with Nathan about dark magic.

Maria personally thinks that dark magic was created by evil people to manipulate people’s minds. But she could be wrong.

Katarina was the same at first, but she thinks that she might have been led to think this way because of her first impression of dark magic. Because when she learned about its existence, she was told that it was something that amplified negative emotions. However, Sarah showed her various ways to use dark magic: creating a familiar, creating a parallel space, attack spells…

Dark magic can actually be used in various ways, so it might not have been created for an evil reason.

Katarina meets Laura and Nix on the way to her carriage.

Sora is busy with work, so Katarina walks alone to her carriage.

She meets Laura and Nix, who are back from work. They can’t wait before they can go back to their usual clothes.

Katarina feels emotional looking at Nix acting narcissistic. Looking at her, Nix and Laura think that she must be hungry.

Katarina ponders what Sora told her about Laura probably having a secret. She feels like if it were true, 1) it must not be something terrible given Laura’s good nature 2) she shouldn’t pry if he wants to hide it so desperately.

Evening at Claes Manor.

When Katarina is back home, Luigi and Keith are still not back from work. It is unusual since Luigi usually puts his family first.

Katarina has dinner alone with Millidiana. Millidiana asks her how she is doing at the Ministry. It seems like she still sees her as a troublesome child.

Luigi and Keith are still not back when Katarina goes to sleep.

Katarina ponders things before falling asleep.

Katarina ponders Nathan’s words again about why dark magic was created.
