It may not be prestigious like The Pitt, but Netflix's Pulse is enjoyable, entertaining, well-written, and well-performed TV. It's worth a watch.

review from my letterboxd (4th rewatch):

I honestly feel like the intimacy scenes in this film are the most honest and beautifully shot masterpieces I've ever scene, not a single part feels unnecessary and the laughs and love are just so genuine. This film healed something in me.

I am obsessed with this movie, it's still my favourite, I think I found it at the perfect time in my life. Everytime I show this to somebody they enjoy it just as much as I do and I'm so glad, this is forever going to be a cult classic of mine.

Sorry, I just noticed, but why do we keep writing finales pairing the Master with creating Cybermen in nuwho? Like, excluding the Master's appearances with 10, Missy, Simm&Missy, and Dhawan!Master ALL have plotlines/finales involving the creation of new kinds of Cybermen, whether that be Nethersphere Cybermen, Mondasian Cybermen, or TimeLord!Cybermen.

Like, I get that the Master and the Cybermen are both iconic monsters in Doctor Who, but you'd think that there could be a bit more variety in our Master-centric finales?

(And that's not even getting into the weird fact that in both s8 and s10 we see both black companions get turned into Cybermen, which speaks to some undertones that go beyond just a lack of creativity.)

Getting Past It - Danny Simms/Natalie Cruz

A/N: Quick fic for @smubbles-etc.

“Does that happen often?” “What? Making someone come so hard they have to come to the hospital? More than you’d think…” Danny barely hides her amusement and Cruz barely hides her laugh, shaking her head a little. Of all the people this could happen to, it was lucky it had been this one, the man who had tried to use family ties to badger Danny into backing down, had tried to get her fired. “Well, lets get him fixed up and out of here… before ‘mommy’ comes to clear this mess up too…” Danny barely smiles, glancing at her with a small sigh then nodding just once. They work side by side, tidying up the mess made getting Dr Phillips sorted out would be easy enough but she wasn’t sure she really wanted to know how they handled this when it was an ex-colleague. It was easy enough to fix most of the exhaustion, but the next level of work was harder. Surgery had been needed to untangle the man’s entire groin region. In the end, after it is all finished, cleaned up and Phillips is moved to surgery aftercare, it’s easy for Cruz to find Danny. “You okay?” “Yeah, surprisingly…” Danny’s sigh is soft and Cruz moves to nudge her just slightly. “Want to get out of here?” “God, yes.” It ends in the bedroom, Natalie moving to bring Danny with her, smiling just slightly when Danny moves over her with a surprising power and grace. The girl, woman really, has always been so quietly powerful at work, but meek, now though she seems in control, almost fierce. “Where did that come from?” Danny’s smirk is quick and light, her voice almost teasing. “For me…. Lately… reclaiming the control of situations like this is important…. You mind?” “No… no… I don’t mind.” There’s something freeing, like this. Danny in her element, as bright, smart and focused as she has been in any emergency situation they work on together, the freedom to relax is something Natalie rarely gets, so she gives up control, trusts the woman she’s seen shine so brightly and finds pleasure and peace under her touch.
