i finally got around to watching the owl house and (sighs dramatically) i might have a favourite character

"My dad has the hots for your dad!"

Amity can only stare as Hunter slams his hands down on the table she is working at. He glares at her with narrow eyes and a mouth pressed firmly into a thin line. The perfect picture of determination and confidence. 

"What. Did you just say?" 

He immediately deflates at her pointed and icy tone. His hands leave her table and fidget with his overalls and hair instead while he squirms from side to side, eyes averted and cheeks blushing. 

"I-uhm. I read that in one of Mama Camila's books. It- well, I mean, it means-" 

Amity cuts him off. "I know what it means. Didn't Camila forbid you from reading them?" 

Them being the small paperbacks with the half naked humans on the front. Usually a woman in distress with a very well built male, rescuing her from certain doom with wet hair and big abs. The first time Camila had caught Hunter reading one of them she'd almost burst a blood vessel and ripped it right out of his hands. 

"Nonononono," she had chanted and hugged a perplexed Hunter to her chest, carding a hand through his hair. "Those books are way too spicy for an innocent, cute boy like you!" 

Hunter huffs and puffs. "I'm an adult. She can't tell me what to read." At Amity's raised eyebrow he mutters "And she didn't find the one hidden under my mattress." 

He shakes his head and takes her shoulders to shake her a little. She allows it, 'cause she can see how agitated he is. "But that's not the point! Darius has… he likes your dad. As in like-like! And we gotta figure out how we feel about that." 

Amity thinks about Darius. The dashing rebel, who had been pulling the strings of an uprising in the shadows from the start. A headstrong abomination user. He would definitely be a big step up from Odalia, that's for sure. 

She imagines Darius as her father's new partner and discovers that she is more than okay with that. 

Amity is not naive. She knows her father needs a headstrong partner at his side, someone who is not afraid to take the reins in a relationship. Not like Odalia, who's taken that to mean that she should micromanage every facet of his life and turn him into someone he is not, but someone who reminds her father to eat and to leave work alone every once in a while. 

"I approve." Amity says and seeing Hunter's desolate expression narrows her eyes. "You got a problem with my dad?" 

"What?" Hunter lets her shoulders go as if they have burned him. "No, of course not! He's super cool! I just… Arrrrrg!" He rapidly runs his hands through his hair. "I just don't know if I can handle a second parental figure!"

"Uhhh."

He starts walking up and down in front of her, Waffles flying after him with happy little trills. "Things with Darius are good right now. He told me to call him Dad and it's… It's yeah, you know? But it's also a bit awkward sometimes, you know? The only father figure I ever had before… Well. And we are still trying to find our rhythm, you know? How am I supposed to deal with another parent right now?"

"Hunter!" Amity has to shout to get him to stop. She can't believe she is having this conversation right now. "Hunter. You do know that you have like, four parental adults in your life. Don't you?" 

He blinks at her and his blank face tells her everything she needs to know. She wants to face-palm so bad right now. "What?" 

Amity starts counting on her hand. "You call Camila Mama Camila." 

"Wha- But that's just-", he splutters. Amity talks right over him. 

"Eda calls you her Fledgling at least once a week and she and Raine are kinda a packaged deal. Grandma and Grandpa Clawthorne call you son so often, I don't even know if they know your real name. Every time Lilith fusses over your scars she mutters 'my poor boy' under her breath. And let's not forget Willow's parents who took one look at you and had the adoption papers ready." Amity looks at her hands, which have barely been enough to count on. "Oh look at that. Not four but eight, actually."

Hunter looks gobsmacked and not a little teary eyed. Amity pats his shoulders, just a little relieved that he has apparently forgotten about their parents budding romance over this new revelation. She'd rather not get involved in that for as long as possible. 

"Face it, Hunter. You are pretty much public son number one at this point."

I love Dadrius and Hunter

You can't tell me that Darius would not give Hunter the world

Like he's so interested, Hunter would be so absolutely happy to be living with Darius- granted he would be absolutely worried for like 2 months beforehand and Darius would be so nervous about not being a good father figure for Hunter. Also Eberwolf best uncle- Hunter would never call him uncle, he couldn't do that to Eber or himself.

Hunter in this last image is able to throw back Darius' look perfectly and it seems like Hunter is used to Darius' actions. The look that Darius is giving Hunter is like when they were reunited but it is more challenging like he's daring Hunter to say he hates Darius ruffling his hair. Hunter definitely picked up his body language and mannerisms from Darius, sorry but the way that Hunter is holding himself in that last image feels like a thing Darius would do, I just like the idea that one day the two mirrored eachother action for action and you can't tell me Eber and Willow saw and laughed exactly in that picture.

You can't tell me Eber and Willow are not used to Hunter and Darius' antics they definitely are used to it.

Um.. yeah Hunter and Darius Deamonne are family they are father and son.

Begging Dana on my hands and knees to give us a Dadrius moment where hunter hugs him and cries after being gone for so long. Just them, happy each other us alive, uncaring of anything else at that moment except that they're there, together, safe and alive and not separated by dimensions.

Heading to Bed

This is the first time I've colored Eberwolf. He's harder than you'd think to draw, but I had fun with him.

I struggled a lot with positioning of literally everyone here, I don't think I pulled it off 100%, but it's more than passable.

I gave Eberwolf his own pajamas, although since most of him is blocked by Darius, it's near impossible to tell outside of the slippers. I gave him a crop top with puffy sleeves and a turtle neck, as well as a bubble skirt similar to his debut design, just without the spikes.

I imagine often times while watching a movie, or staying up late studying, doing schoolwork, sewing, practicing wood carving, or simply just saying up too long, Hunter will fall asleep somewhere that's not his bed. Places where Hunter passes out can range from the couch to Hunter's desk to the dining table, or literally the fucking floor. Darius will often pick him up, cradle him in one arm because Hunter is so small and light, while he is so strong, and then Darius will tuck his son into bed. Eberwolf oftens alerts Darius whenever this happens, since he's normally up later than Darius and tends to scour the house late at night.

It's either Hunter just passes out suddenly where Darius has to carry him to bed, or Hunter has severe insomia that Darius has to help out with. A glass of spider milk with a hint of sleeping nettles and gently patting Hunter's head (especially scratching behind his ears) does the trick.

(I'm just dropping ideas used in my fics at this point-)

The scene in the final Owl House episode where everyone is reunited with their families is something I think a lot about.

Specifically HOW everyone is reunited.

Amity, Willow and Gus all run towards their families to greet them. They make the move going to them. They known they’ve been missed and they know their families love them

Hunter however doesnt run to anyone. Instead it’s Darius and Eberwolf who come to him. And I think this is incredibly important for Hunter. It helps him to realise that there’s actually people out there who do care for him, people that want to be around him. Everyone else knew they were missed and that they were wanted home. Hunter didn’t have that. He went back expecting to be alone and to have no one to turn to.

I think Darius making the move really helps to show Hunter that he is loved and that’s something he’s never been shown before. He needed Darius to come to him. To let him know he’s there for him

I been want to post this and where I’m, it’s Father’s Day so I thought why not. I saw people were also doing a dadius week and I really want to join but I don’t have any embroidery/art ideas to do for it. But it one of my favorite things from this fandom as it’s so sweet. Hopefully I can think of something more for them later in the future.

I also love Eber so much along Darius so I need him to be included. Also him joking with Hunter that he his wolf dad or uncle or something. Just him picking a fun name to call himself and Hunter joking along to annoy Darius. Also Eber totally calling hunter cub as it’s so cute

Also costume note as I have to say it but I love how Darius subtly matches Hunter in the last bits, as look hunter has a little bit of purple from his wolf shirt and Darius has a little bit of yellow to match hunter.
