top 5 fred moments (*´꒳`*)

YAAAAY THANK YOU LEE!!! it's always hard to come up with my overall/all-time favourites since i love so many of his little moments across multiple incarnations!! but here's some i've been spinning in my brain as of late :)

the be cool scooby doo season finale where he reconciles with professor huh and lets him have the mystery machine so that he can escape and be free. the way he goes from despising and avoiding his father to using one of daphne's hand puppets (something he's hated throughout the whole show) in order to communicate with him in a way he knows will get through. when he tells his father he loves him, and his father replies "i love you" by returning the mystery machine at the very end - but fred is disappointed, because the thing he really wanted back was his dad. this finale was an absolute gutpunch and i still tear up thinking about it. genuinely how have i not seen anyone talk about it. i am shaking you violently by the shoulders and infodumping about be cool scooby doo lore to you

MORE be cool scooby doo i'm sorry except i'm not because it's my favourite show and i won't shut up about it. fright of hand is such a good episode and i love freddy or not with all my heart. the way he was so dedicated to someday being a stage magician that he had a custom costume and persona all ready to go at a moment's notice. having a bunch of varied interests that he's obsessed with is pretty standard fred fare by now, but it's nice seeing a more uptight and mystery-focused fred like bcsd enjoy something random so earnestly. also, the fact that it's mentioned that he does his own eyeliner and it isn't treated like a joke?? icing on the cake.

blowout beach bash is by far the better scooby lego movie but i am constantly thinking of fred getting way too into film directing in haunted hollywood. his weird little beret. his sass. his dedication. "ONE PHONE CALL AND HE'LL NEVER WORK IN THIS TOWN AGAIN". as someone who recently made my first student film, i can confirm that being behind cameras just makes you like this /silly

that moment in the first episode of what's new scooby doo where he's stuck in the ski lodge with his broken leg and he just has to worriedly watch daphne from afar while she rides a snow quad down the mountain. mom friend fred at his absolute finest, whenever he's not around to keep everyone safe daphne's raw unfiltered adhd takes over

that tiny bit in battle of the humungonauts (mystery incorporated) when scooby is sobbing in the back of the van because he found out shaggy and velma are dating, and fred says "it's me, isn't it. i said something that hurt his feelings, didn't i." like,,,, the way he automatically assumes it was him because he has some awareness of how blunt he can be. his genuine remorse and willingness to own up to something he didn't even do, but isn't entirely certain he didn't do, either. the autism of it all. unmatched.

top 5 favorite foods?

oh yeah it's autism time

pizza (specifically plain cheese/margherita). very basic but a pizza has never once let me down in my entire life. it's my safe food :)

honest to goodness sometimes all i want is just. a really nice salad. i usually make my own + sometimes add fancy stuff like feta cheese or avocado. with a nice dressing it is 😘👌

sweet potato fries/wedges. or just sweet potato anything. i <3 sweet potato

mac & cheese! i only recently realised how much i like it. i usually get the microwaveable kind but i'd love to try making it myself + adding stuff to it sometime!!

poke bowls! just like the good classic ones with rice, avocado, salmon, edamame, etc.

the world's end (2013) i'll never know where to begin with how much this movie means to me - it inspired me to finally take the plunge and study film like i had always dreamed!! it's a treat to analyse, i love the characters, the themes hit hard, the soundtrack is inspired, it's endlessly quotable... it will always be perfect to me!!

tangled (2010) the very definition of a comfort movie, i watched it to death as a child and could probably recite the whole thing if you prompted me. probably the film with the biggest impact on my personality & tastes in subsequent media: i relate so strongly to rapunzel, and i love cosy and unexpectedly harrowing fantasy stories with well-developed character relationships.

back to the future (1985) another comfort movie, this time from my preteen/teen years!! meant a lot to me back then but became a full-blown special interest thanks to the musical adaptation. the movie is still a masterpiece, with its delightful central duo, inspired use of setup and payoff, and just for being a very human, tender sci-fi story surrounded by great action and comedy.

wolf children (2019) i'm not going to lie to you i rewatched this one recently and started sobbing less than half an hour in. a jaw-droppingly beautiful film that hits so much harder as an adult, and i can imagine it would hit even harder as a parent. the snow day scene is quite possibly my favourite scene in all of film. it looks stunning, its story is gorgeous and devastating to follow, and i can't recommend it enough if you haven't seen it.

klaus (2019) i hyperfixated on this one massively when i first saw it back in 2020, watching every single behind the scenes video put out by the studio on their youtube channel and learning everything there was to know about the concept, process and artistry of this film. rewatching it is my most important christmas tradition, and it's another film that makes me both cry and laugh every single time i watch it.

honourable mentions go to the lego movie 1 + 2, toy story 1-3, the scream movies, the fnaf movie, song of the sea, the holdovers, sweeney todd 2007... i think i love too many movies

YAAAAY i haven't talked about my guys in forever omg i feel so bad. i missed them so much

the one and only mx. ryn lunerath!! was my d&d character but i got so attached to them that i literally started building an original fantasy world around them because they deserve it. they've been with me since 2021 and they mean the world to me 🥹

eris aerglo & arnon roots in a tie because picking one over the other feels like a crime. they're ryn's disaster adoptive parents whose backstories i have developed a ridiculously detailed amount, to the point where i had to make a fnaf theory-style timeline of where they were and what they were doing at various points in their lives

april mcfly, my back to the future oc!! it's been a while since i did stuff with her, but i'm still super proud of her design and the things i created about/surrounding her!! <3

soléy jones, a character i have yet to talk about on this blog!! she's a character i've put in multiple story concepts/attempts at creating screenplays, a late discovered/diagnosed autistic girl and freelance artist just trying to understand herself and the world around her, all while falling for her cute english literature teacher roommate (also autistic). i've got to draw a full ref of her sometime!

you've got a friend in me by randy newman from toy story of course! a basic choice but my toy story autism is eternal and my #1 couldn't be anything else really

buddy song by zachary levi and james monroe igleheart from tangled the series! very silly with fun lyrics, i sing it a lot. this song gets better when you realise that it's sung by two guys who are essentially really high

hello me & you by superorganism from the lego movie 2! it's one of the credits songs. super sweet and unique song about why differences matter and can be really cool actually!

you're my best friend by queen from shaun of the dead! or at least that's what i associate it with. the first song that popped into my head when i saw this ask :)

Moataz @moatazart, Mariam, and baby Maria are set to make the dangerous journey from Gaza City in the north to Rafah in the south. From there, God willing, they will enter Egypt.

HOWEVER, the money they had allocated to procure shelter and food while in Egypt was utterly depleted by exploitative fees and hidden costs, which we break down in this post. Moataz speaks more on the situation in this post and on his own blog @moatazart, which we ask people to follow and boost. They have a fund going to raise the remaining money, but the fund only has a week and a half left before it closes! They are not even halfway to their goal!

Please share what you can with Moataz’s family so they can find safety and security in Egypt! They have no one in Egypt with whom they can stay and currently nowhere near enough money to secure shelter! After all they have survived, please don’t let this young family be left vulnerable! If they cannot procure food and shelter, they will be extremely vulnerable not only to the dangers of homelessness, but to groups and individuals who prey on refugees!

Safety for Gazan refugees does not end with leaving Gaza! If this campaign is not finished in LESS THAN 2 WEEKS, they will be homeless in Egypt! They are so close to a fresh start, please don’t let all the risks they are taking to find safety be for nothing!
