Dark Gaia Sonic AU-

Personality: Mostly the same as normal Sonic but there’s some quirks due to the reason for his unsightly transformation. He’s more… grim. Not nearly as peppy. Dark humor actually gets a laugh out of him now too.

Backstory: During the time where Dark Gaia takes back it’s energy to form itself, including from Sonic, Sonic fights to keep it- He doesn’t want Dark Gaia to get any stronger and he’d just come to accept his new werehog form! But something very unexpected happens during this game of tug o war. While trying to take back the energy that Dark Gaia was attempting to steal, Sonic accidentally ends up taking back more energy than he started with. Too much energy. Almost all of it, in fact.

Assuming Dark Gaia had been defeated some how, Chip goes back into the earth with what little of Dark Gaia’s original form is left and uses his powers to send Sonic back to where they first met.

Unfortunately it doesn’t take long for the consequences of Sonic’s (albeit unintentional) actions to unfold in the form of a grueling transformation…

Abilities: Same as the werehog and Dark Gaia.

Etc: There’s a constant war in his mind for control of the body, with Sonic just always barely ahead. Because of this he talks in chunks. “Which basically… means he talks… like this…” He’s also prone to spacing out because of this too- although this mostly happens during the night since that’s when Dark Gaia is at it’s strongest. And although this is probably obvious when you think about it, but just as confirmation he is in fact immortal. He also loathes being the way he is now. At least as the werehog he could still run and go places more or less normally. But now? Now he’s 147 meters tall… And there’s a LOT more downsides to that fact. Namely things he can’t really do now. One of the other most devastating beings that, due to them being so small now, he can’t taste chilli dogs. Somebody would have to make a REALLY big chili dog for him to taste anything. Or maybe a lot? Either way it’d be a giant (no pun intended, but welcomed) effort to go through.

Infested AU-

Sonic, under the influence of a mysterious alien brain parasite, has become unpredictable and very, very dangerous. While all his powers remain the same, he now uses his speed to maim and kill anyone who moves. Sonic’s mental state has devolved to basic instinct, and, thanks to the parasite, he is in a near-constant state of feeling like a wild animal trapped in a corner. As a result, he will call upon impossible strength, reserved only for life-or-death scenarios. Pray you don’t catch his attention. You can’t outrun the fastest thing alive.

While it's sad that Dark Gaia Sonic didn't win, I'm proud of you for having the confidence to submit him and for making it to the second round! And hey, at least we can say Dark Gaia Sonic wins the prize for tallest Sonic! XD

Thanks! I never really expected to win but I wanted to show him (and all the hard work I put into designing him) off to the world. And yeah he's definitely the biggest... I've compared his height to a few other AUs with a big Sonic who isn't literally Dark Gaia and none of them even come close to being his size.

Okay now this one is really old, but! It was the start of my Dark Noodle AU, so it holds a special place in my heart.

It was also maybe one of my first—if not the first—fully colored and background-ed comics I ever made.

been rotating an au around in my brain where the Sonic cast is just a bunch of kids running around in a small town because nothing gives me more joy than to envision a complex high action narrative as a series of mundane adventures

So... Chao haven't changed much. Chip however ? HOO BOY. Say hello to ring sprites, also called chips, Light Gaia's minions ! They're scattered fragments of the ring flame ( that firey thing above Chip's head in all the doodles ) that never made it into proper rings.

I experimented a lot with Chip as you can see. Skipped ahead a lot with that last image, but had to include it. Final design ended up being the last one in the middle right labeled "Chip chip !"

Starhog AU-

He's basically the Shadow of this AU, instead of shadow and Maria, it's sonic and Elise, he's the youngest of 3 "ultimate lifeforms". (different animals) After Elise sudden death, sonic went dark for the first time, radiating a Chaos blast killing almost everyone in the area. (His 2 siblings were in escape pods.) He became very weak after the blast, he doesn't remember anything between him fatigued of the chaos energy, and crash landing to south Island.

Since he's a part of ristar's species (think of it like, if the black arms were living with the humans for thousands of years) he can stretch his arms but they do have a limit. His paws are like a geckos and he can stick to things.

Tangle is his friend in this AU. He is very protective of her. He'll protect her if she's in danger.

Ivo didn't really know Sonics dangerousness until a fight with metal came and he absolutely demolished him. Ivo had to rebuild metal for 1&1/2 weeks.

Shooting stars (ristar species) were kinda wary of Sonics existence, most are now glad that tangle is with him.

Sonic is (technically) 30 in contrast to shadow being (technically) 50.

In honor of finishing and having the courage to post it, I decided to make a little comic of Dark Gaia Sonic meeting MVA Sonic by @weirdozjunkary. Tbh I'm pretty nervous about posting this but here i go...

It probably hurt like hell for him to bend over that far, although probably not as much as it would take for a regularperson, but if he's stuck looking like he does and being that big he may as well scare the shit out of alternate version of himself. It also might have to do with the Dark Gaia half of his mind taking the most joy in it but he'd rather not think on it too much. He already hates his situation.

Btw to put it into perspective just how fucking gigantic he is comparison, Dark Gaia Sonic is 147.03 meters while MVA Sonic is only 15.24 meters. If my math is right then that's a difference of about 131.79 meters.

To say MVA Sonic is lucky he's only 15.24 meters is a bit of an understatement in comparison...

My attempt at the 31 Days Sonic challenge that happened a while back (only got to day 7 oops ¯\_(ツ)_/¯)

Day 1: Look Alike (Young Shadow & Mephiles)

Day 2: Control (Young Silver)

Day 3: What If? (Super Shadow, Super Silver, & Dark Sonic)

Day 4: Superpower (Infinite)

Day 5: Communicate (Amy, Rouge, Silver, & Knuckles)

Day 6: Legend (Sonic, Chip, & Dark Gaia)

Day 7: Emotion (Sonic, Amy, Tails, & Knuckles)

Y’all remember how in the rebooted Archie Sonic continuity, Sonic’s Werehog transformation was caused by him inhaling some nasty Dark Gaia essence, resulting in a slow, gradual first transformation that took place over several days?

I humbly propose a Sonic Unleashed AU, where the events of Sonic Unleashed play out pretty much the same as they usually do, but with one key exception: the fissures that resulted from the world splitting apart emits the same misty vapor, resulting in other mobians having to deal with the whole Werehog thing after some nonce inevitability ends up inhaling the stuff.

I feel like, since Chip gives Sonic the whole spiel about how it was his own will that kept him pure, the personality of werehoggified mobians should probably fall more in like with how it affects people being influenced by Dark Gaia, but with more feral and frenzied undertones, similar to the crazed frenzy Archie Sonic found himself in during his first proper transformation.

I’d love to see how something along those lines would affect not only the story, but also the character’s relationship with one another. We didn’t see many mobians in Unleashed, which makes me wonder more about how, for example, Team Chaotix would deal with a newly werehogified member (or members).

We have a lot of story potential here today fellas!!!!!!
