Opening up with the early early things back when i didn't really know what i wanted to do with this.

We're going chronologically, so this is all from february/march 2022 !

The sentient rocks' opinions of their Guardians:

Sol Emeralds: This is Blaze! She is descended from many of our previous Guardians, and has a firm grasp on duty. We love her.

Chaos Emeralds: This is Sonic! We found him on the side of a road eating a chili dog and yelling at this egg creature. We love him.

Master Emerald: This is Knuckles, who honestly deserves better than the life his ancestors gave him. I consider him my son in many ways. I love him.

Time Stones: This is Silver. We saw him throw a car at a god once. We love him.

Introducing: Endless Possibilities!!!

Violet: Violet was created in a lab using Sonic and Shadow's DNA. She mostly takes after Sonic, having his same adventurous and fun loving spirit and cocky attitude. They also inherited Shadow's sense of duty, wanting nothing more than to travel the world, using their abilities to protect it like their parents did at their age.

Aster and Jade: Aster and Jade were meant to be the children of Blaze, Amy, and Surge, but Surge left their partners before the twins were born. While Jade was born without powers, Aster was born with a strong connection to the Sol emeralds, giving her the ability to control light and access to her own burning form. Because of this connection Aster is the current guardian of the emeralds as well as the next in line for the throne.

The twins are complete opposites; while Aster is very studious and introverted, Jade is very outgoing and a bit of a slacker. While Aster is off studying or training with Blaze, Jade spends their time exploring the palace, gardening with Amy, or visiting Violet or Bramble back in Sonic's dimension.

Emerald: Emerald spends her time on Angel Island with Knuckles, raising chao and guarding the Master Emerald beside him. Emerald is naturally stronger than average, but while she likes training with her dad, she prefers flying. Despite being the oldest of the group, Emerald usually lets Violet or Jade take the lead on things, choosing to stay back with Aster instead of getting into too much trouble.

Bramble: Bramble was an orphan taken in by Surge and Sticks when he was very young. It's always been able to shapeshift and was originally born a tenrec, but once it got comfortable around it's new parents, it changed to a more hybrid form. Bramble enjoys the life he lives, basically having free reign to do as he pleases in the woods around Sticks' burrow or even going to visit Violet if he wants, as long as he checks back in at home. It can also be a bit obnoxious and rude, and gets along more with Jade and Violet than Emerald and Aster.

So yeah! Over the last few months, I've been working on redesigning the kids, and while I only have bits and pieces of a proper story, I feel ready to share the kids again!

If Mario Was in...Sonic Riders

 Several teams have entered the first ever Mushroom Kingdom Extreme Gear Tournament for the chance at the grand prize; one of the Chaos Emeralds and a big pile-o-cash!

Teams include:

Splat Squad

Consists of Meggy, Mario and Luigi. They’re partly doing it to stress test E. Gadd’s Extreme Gear design, but they also thought it’d be fun.

Babylon Rogues

I had to include them, it’s their game. Meggy and Jet end up in a rivalry since Meggy’s super competitive and Jet’s a cocky asshole.

Team Yoshi

Consists of the main Green Yoshi, a Red Yoshi, and a Blue Yoshi. Sent by the Haltmann Works Co. to stress-test their gear, and retrieve the Emerald if at all possible. There’s clear tension between green Yoshi and Mario, since this is the first time since they cut ties with each other that they’ve interacted in a non-meme context.

Team Rose

Consists of Amy Rose and the Wario Bros. It’s no secret that getting Memed affected Sonic’s friends pretty badly, but after a lot of time and therapy Amy’s ready to prove that she’s not just some Flanderized lovesick maniac anymore, and figured the tournament was as good a place as any for that. The Bros agreed to help her because she said they could keep the prize money if they won.

Team Anime Melon

Consists of Melony, Bob and Boopkins. Melony and Boopkins are here for fun, Bob’s here for the money.

And a bunch of other unimportant teams made up of random meme characters to fill out the roster.

Ghostly Guardian Au

So my brain spawned an entire au from a small gag in a different fic. I've already started writing a Fic about it. but i wanted to put some of my thoughts down.

Before Knuckles hatched the Master Emerald (which is semi sentient) sorta went 'Oh no this child is all alone and probably won't survive' so it 'bound' Knuckles to the emerald as a 'spirit guardian' type thing and when he hatched he didn't have a proper physical form.

he Didn't realize he was a ghost until Sonic, Tails and Eggman showed up.

He's pretty chill about it now.

Knuckles can't go very far from the master emerald, currently this radius is the same size as Angel island.

He can touch things but he's not tangible all the time and has to channel a bit of chaos energy to pick things up. (the difficulty of this is related to his distance from the master emerald)

He can only be seen where there's a lot of chaos energy. like, when nearby the master emerald, in hidden palace. (a shard of the master emerald or a chaos emerald also lets him be visible but he has to think about that more and it gets tiring if he stays visible too long this way)

When he is visible he has a slight glow (sorta like the ghosts in botw)

He dose cause distortions in camera's and stuff like that. So robots can kinda see him all the time but they wouldn't necessarily be able to tell that it's a person they're seeing.

The master emerald can warp him back to it and after a bit of practice he can warp back to it on command.

Due to his extremely close connection with the master emerald and Angel island he has come control over the island and it reacts to his emotions.

Because he lived on angel island without anyone to compare himself to he's never sure what is and isn't normal

Knuckles has no need for food or sleep, Often ignores walls, Tends to scare people accidentally because he forgets that people don't appear from nowhere.

Angel island is a blend of it's different depictions.

After a somewhat modified version of the events Sonic adventure Knuckles carries a shard of the Master Emerald with him so he can travel. but it feels weird to him to be off Angel island so his trips usualy aren't very long.

So he can visit the others after that.

once Accidentally caused a haunting somewhere and met team chaotix because of it.

Rouge did manage to steal Master Emerald before encountering him. (he was doing something on the surface at the time) And he constantly brings up her shriek when he appeared on top of the emerald from nowhere and started yelling at her.

Everyone's houses have little whiteboards in most of the rooms so knuckles can talk to them even when he's not visible. but he just as often throws things at people to get his message across.

The Master Emerald is Knuckles AU

The emerald was always wanted by others It has been held and used by many who wanted to do evil or to harness its power. Or change the world, make it anew. To destroy it. Since its creation it has always been an object of want Of power. Or desire. It never knew people who wanted to protect it Until the 7 echidna tribes decided to work together to protect the Emerald. That is when it got its first name The Master Emerald. For until these small creatures came to it, there was no distinction between the Chaos Emeralds For thousands of years the Master Emerald watched the Echidna. How they laughed and cried and prayed and lived and loved How they fought for it, bleed for it, defended it, survived for it. How each and every one of them protected it. For the first time It… wanted something. So, it enriched the lands, gave the people health and food, placed riches into the earth and made their home better. And the people came to worship it They threw celebrations for it Prayed to it And It could hear them Like little bells It felt even closer to the little lights that wanted nothing more than to protect it. But over time The Master Emerald wanted again It had never felt like this before. Ever. Watching them, the lights made it want more. It wanted to laugh and cry and pray and sing and live and… love. Just like the creatures that protected it. That worshiped it. It too wanted to protect them. For a gem of power that has never before chosen something, it chose to live. So one day when the shrine guardian was cleaning, the Master Emerald chose to become something else. It used its power to change itself. With a blinding light that shined across the island It called the 7 emeralds back to the main shrine And stepping off the empty pedestal onto the shrine floor was an Echidna with the brightest red fur that sparkled like rubies and long dreaded quills that drifted in an unfelt breeze. On his chest was a swoop of white so clear it was blinding. And the most stunning Purple eyes. Brighter than any mortal stone. This was the avatar of the Master The shrine guardian dropped their broom as the being spoke, “Greetings my Guardian, Hertha Of Clan Heart. It is a pleasure to properly greet you. You may call me Knuckles.”

Evil grows in the dark and heroes bloom in the light

This idea feels more of an AU than a possibility of this happening in the SCU but it is fun to write/draw nonetheless.

This idea is inspired by the Sonic Fleetway comics, tangled, and Lion King 2: Simba’s Pride.

(I made this before I knew if Jim Carry was returning as Eggman in any future installment, just to let you know)

After the events of the third movie, Eggman is defeated once again this time at the cost of his life. Agent Stone is devastated at the loss of HIS doctor and wants vengeance against Sonic and his friends. Unfortunately, he would have to bide his time and lay low until the heat died down. With the ultimate weapon loss, he scavenges G.U.N base one last time in search of anything from Eggman or the government to use against Sonic in the future.

During the search, Stone discovers a brown hedgehog in a cryo-chamber similar to the one Shadow was found in. After looking into some files, he learns the subject, Project Rose seems to be a failed attempt at re-creating a more docile version of Project Shadow (to control better) years after Shadow was deemed too dangerous. At first, Stone was appalled by the idea of using another alien mutant to progress his plans for revenge, it hadn’t worked out the last two times! Not having a lot of options he took his chance with this creature, deciding that he would play his cards carefully this time and dispose of the beast as soon as possible if necessary.

Months later, Agent Stone, discovered like Shadow she has a connection to chaos energy, though a lot weaker and more unstable. Similar to when his doctor wielded the master emerald power, she can create anything from the material she’s offered. She also has supernatural strength, enhanced athletic/acrobatic, an unexplainable sixth sense, and cloaking abilities.

The only downside is that her powers are more limited compared to Shadow or Sonic and even seem to put a lot of strain on her body. He predicts that her body will expire in a matter of months or a year at best. Not that he cared as long as he got his revenge on Sonic, she would be one less problem to deal with once he was done, anyway.

Since Agent Stone doesn’t have the vast intelligence of his beloved doctor he settles with using Amy to create complex machinery. By night he causes trouble for Sonic heroes making sure they never forget the doctor (the team doesn’t know Agent Stone is the one causing trouble). By day he brings back material and blueprints he managed to scavenge during his nightly ventures.

Each day, Rose would create machinery, and weapons, unbeknownst to her that aided him in his conquest to destroy the blue pest and his friends. Unfortunately, for him, despite having many of the doctor's glorious blueprints and plans at hand, none have come close to destroying his foes.

Rose could easily see Mr. Stone’s frustration whenever he returned from his “night job”. Wanting to cheer her guardian up, she decided to sneak out and gather some material to make Mr. Stone happy. Rose, never having been outside, is quickly enamored by the luscious forest and flowers. So much so that she didn’t notice a blue blue until he was right on top of her.

Stone had relocated his base Of operation from the coffee shop to the depth of the forest of Greenhills. so it was a matter of time before Rose was at the “wrong” place at the “wrong” time resulting in her encountering the blue blur.

After untangling themselves they get a good look at each other and both are shocked. Sonic was in shock due to meeting another hedgehog who had hunted familiar eyes, leaving him gawking at the girl like an idiot. While Rose is shocked to meet another creature like herself but with such beautiful quills. Rose is quick to excitedly shoot questions out to the shell-shocked hedgehog. Before Rose could get a response from the blue hedgehog she sensed Agent Stone returning to the base so cut the meeting short. She quickly grabbed one of the daisies she dropped early and suggested they meet here again sometime to get to know each other better. Again before Sonic can respond the hedgehog girl disappears before his eyes (literally).

Upon returning to the base Rose decides to keep her meeting with the mysterious blue hedgehog secret for now, not wanting to get in trouble for sneaking out. She didn’t think a two-petal daisy would cheer up Mr. Stone or make up for running off. Things progress like usual with Mr. Stone, bringing in material and blueprints of bots to practice her creation ability. The session goes on like any other until Rose’s mind can’t help but wander back to the blue hedgehog. And unbeknownst to her it influences her powers to create the head of a metallic blue hedgehog head instead of a plain android like the blueprint. Noticing her mistake, roast quickly tries to apologize and explain herself though Stone calmly brushes it off. Stone smiles at Rose for the first time in a while (if ever) and tells her that she is on to something and this may be her best work yet. So before Rose could exhaust herself for today, he excused her from their session for today and sent Rose to her room.

Behind closed doors, Agent Stone was a bit furious that the insolent creature had shown its first sign of disobedience and interacted with the blue menace nonetheless! But that didn’t matter for now her day would be numbered soon enough. Now he had the perfect plan to destroy that hedgehog in the best way possible thanks to his little rose. He would build that robot in that blue rat likeness, using any information gathered from Rose and Sonic’s meetings ( assuming the ungrateful girl will sneak off to see the blue rat again). Then when the sonic bond with the rose reaches its highest stone it would tear it away from him(just as Sonic did to him) using Sonic's image. Then his friends and family before lastly the blue hedgehog who would most likely be more than broken when Stone strikes the final blow.

Unfortunately for Stone, his plans don’t go exactly as planned. With each meeting, sonic and Rose's bond grows stronger, and Rose learns and grows. Through Sonic she learns what real healthy love (familial, platonic, and romantic) looks like which eventually helps her realize something up with Mr. Stone. Sadly by the time she comes to this conclusion, Stone has initiated his plans leaving Sonic to believe that she betrayed him. Wanting to right this wrong Rose lends her aid to team Sonic to defeat the metal monster of her creation. With the chaos emeralds and Rose's help, they were able to defeat Metal Sonic and Agent Stone, but at the cost of Rose's life. The battle she had put herself through, pushed her body to the limit, exhausting all the chaos energy that was meant to keep her alive and stable. Devastated sonic kneels down to his rose, holding her close begging, her to wake up. Stone takes satisfaction in the fact that despite his failure he had given Sonic a taste of how he felt when he took his doctor away.

As Agent Stone is taken in by the G.U.N agents Sonic pays them no mind as he desperately tries to offer up as much chaos energy to Rose’s body in hopes of reviving her. It seemingly has some effect on the hedgehog girl as her quills go from brown to pink and when her eyes eventually open they are a bolder green compared to his own.

Bonus context:

Agent Stone is the type of man who would take satisfaction in a loss if it means, he leaves his enemy physically or mentally scarred. (in the IDW pre-quill comic. He was pretty intimidating so I wanted to go to extra step). he doesn’t care about ruling the world like Eggman (nothing matters if Eggman can’t be the one on top in the end). He just wants to hurt Sonic and his friends/family as much as he can.

In the beginning, Sonic keeps his meeting between him and Rose secret for selfish reasons. Sonic loved his brothers but sometimes he wanted some things or someone to himself (sonic still adjusting to sharing with his brothers). After the ordeal with Shadow, sonic also wanted some semblance of peace or escapism from the trauma. It isn’t until Sonic starts to notice that Rose’s home life might not be so great that Sonic starts to get his brothers and parents involved. Because of this sonic still feels guilty that he could’ve done something sooner.

After watching Disney’s Tangled with the Wachowskis, Amy teasingly calls Sonic her Rapunzel while Sonic insists that it’s the other way around.

Agent Stone is basically mother Gothel to Rose, so she has experienced a lot of gaslighting and guilt-tripping from Stone.

Rose takes up the name Amy as her first name a few months after she leaves Stone's custody. Despite her name coming from a dark place (Project Rose) she wants to keep it while adding something new to it representing the start of her new life as Amy Rose.

Sonic thinks Amy looks beautiful before and after her transformation.

After spending some time at the Wackowski‘s recovering, Amy takes off on her own leaving a note to Sonic explaining how she is going to explore the world for herself and promising that they’ll meet again. Sonic is a bit sad at first but lightens up in the hopes of meeting her again.

If Shadow is still alive and crosses paths with Amy, he would consider her his little sister and do anything to protect her after learning about her connection to him.

Agent Stone would be on Shadow’s kill list after finding out what that man put his sister through.

Shadow would probably gatekeep Amy from Sonic.

So Blaze. I actually hadn't put much thought into her design especially in terms of the AU itself, so it's gonna have a revision that i'm currently working on.

Guardians Au

Aka the one where the sentient rocks give their favorite blorbos access to their full powers because they like them so much

Actual series description:

Being the Guardian of the Chaos Emeralds, the Master Emerald, the Sol Emeralds, or the Time Stones isn't just a title. It comes with different effects, as one may expect. That is why they only ask someone they fully trust and know could handle the responsibility if they wish to be their Guardian and never insist on it. Or, how Sonic, Knuckles, Blaze, and Silver deal with the power and sort of immortality that comes with this responsibility, and how Sonic being the Guardian of the Chaos Emeralds causes a couple of his later adventures to go sideways. (Shadow and Omega are there too by the way.)

Basically, I'm taking the canon fact of Blaze and Knuckles specifically being called Guardians of the Sol Emeralds and Master Emerald respectfully, applying it to Sonic and Silver with the Chaos Emeralds and Time Stones, and running with it.

Mainly plan to explore what exactly the different gemstones can do and explore the bond between these particular characters, and how it sometimes affects the people they're close to.

More or less follows canon up until after Generations when things really start changing.

I update it under the Guardians series on AO3! So far I have three fics for this series:

You and I Are the Same in the Way- Prelude to the series basically, with Blaze and Sonic talking about it a bit This is Where My Journey Begins- Sonic officially becomes the Chaos Emerald's Guardian Somewhere in Chaos We All Find Ourselves- Knuckles and Sonic talk about things, and then Shadow has some questions about what might be found on Angel Island (currently in progress with one chapter to go- just updated today!)

I have plans for future stories too- like for example, Forces will go just a little sideways, and that's just one example, and I do want to explore the future world with everyone!

i accidentally made an au! oops!

essentially- what if Shadow was the freedom-fighting thorn in eggman's side, and what if Sonic was the genetically engineered super-hedgehog ultimate lifeform?

One major difference is that Sonic would not be on board with Eggman's plans to take over the world. He helps Eggman at first because of his loyalty to Gerald Robotnik, before turning on him after he explodes the moon. At the same time, he's actively seeking competition with Shadow, who is the only person who can give him a good challenge, and it's definitely fun to rile him up. He's driven entirely by his impulsivity, resulting in a superpowered loose cannon without anyone to keep him in check. Other than Tails, that is.

And whilst there IS certainly Hedgehogs being swapped, some more people are changed too! Two big ones being Rouge and Tails, who still keep their roles of being these two's biggest confidants (and i cannot, for the life of me, split up Sonic and Tails)

Another swap is Omega and Knuckles!

Omega's role as the Guardian of the Master Emerald comes about as a result of being sent by Eggman to find it. Upon finding it, Omega defects, and decides to become it's guardian, taking a Shoot First, Ask Questions Later approach to intruders. They tolerate Rouge and Shadow only because they are bearers of Chaos Emeralds who intend to use them to protect the world, and sometimes go with them to thwart Eggman's plans. (Destroying Eggman's things = Fun). Of all organic lifeforms, Shadow and Rouge are by far the least annoying.

Knuckles is a mercenary hired by Eggman to guard Sonic's stasis capsule, frustrated by how useless he views his task to be. Whilst he does fail to stop Tails from releasing Sonic from stasis, he reasons that he technically hasn't failed to protect the hedgehog if he goes with him and keep an eye on him.

Sonic likes to rile him up just as much as he likes to rile up Shadow.

Some other swaps include Team Rose swapped with the Chaotix, where Big runs a Detective Agency with Amy, and her protege, Cream, Blaze being from the future and Silver being the guardian of the Sol Emeralds in another dimension.

In all honesty, the only universal constant is Eggman, because no one could fit Eggman's role quite like Eggman can.

So I thought about it for more than three seconds. It's still VERY ill-conceived, but that's what we have now, I apologize in advance for my bad English, this may be confusing.

Sonic Robotnik AU

Sonic

He grew up as a street child in Green Hilly, without parents or guardians. A boy living in a small settlement on the islands, despite his poverty and the absence of a parental figure, was a hero from childhood.

At some point, Eggman flies to Green Hill in search of emeralds. However, although his search turns out to be unsuccessful, he finds something, or rather someone capable of providing him with complete victory over the world. Sonic, literally radiating energy and capable of incredibly fast running, turns out to be the ideal weapon for Eggman.

So kid Sonic after all was adopted by Eggman. "It's better to be helped with all your heart than to be forced" - was Eggman's main motivation. Sonic grows up with Eggman as his adopted son. Thanks to the old man's lies, the hedgehog is sure that his adoptive father is a hero who is trying to achieve an idyll in the world, but he is being hindered by the evil GUN.

Sonic's fast running is used by Eggman as a way to fuel his robots, making them MUCH stronger. Sonic simply spends many years at Eggman's bases, training, researching and communicating with badnik. Until finally Eggman gives him his first task - to steal data about the Master Emerald and its location from GUN

Tails

Sonic still saved him as a child and served as his main motivator. But then Sonic simply disappeared, without warning. At that time, he and Sonic were not that close yet, but Sonic meant a lot to Tails. So when, some time after Sonic disappeared, Eggman’s attacks became almost unbearable, he decides to join GUN to become a hero like what Sonic was for him.

Tails here is still indecisive and Sonic's sudden disappearance has caused some more fears in his life. However, he is trying to improve. Tornado has actually evolved into a more portable version, resembling a jetpack. Tails simply flies high on his tails, and then flies forward using Tarnado, which helps him not to get tired ( He simply had no need for a plane because there was no one to sit on the wing and fly with him)

Shadow

Eggman's attacks were unbearable. The GUN couldn't cope. So they went to extreme measures, they tried to completely erase the Shadow's memory so that Gerald's plan for revenge would never be carried out, and also they gave him a collar, which, although not capable of killing him but can completely paralyze him, enough time to put it back into the storage capsule.

So without memories he just works for GUN. At some point he becomes close to Tails, because part of him seems to remember and want something like a sibling relationships. And Rouge becomes as attached to him as he is to her.

Life goes on as usual until one blue hedgehog appears and starts acting strangely trying to steal information from GUN. And for some reason his last name Robotnik, which he constantly repeats, seems too familiar. And not only because they are also called Eggman.

Woah !! AU!? WHAT!!

Found something old in my wips and decided to Brainrot

Basically I was thinking on how Shadow’s immortal, right? And how he’d go on living and actually be able to meet Silver, and I thought that was pretty damn cool, and then i went- “..who *else* can live old enough to meet Silver” and I started brainstorming.

For Tails, I used the whole kitsune idea for him. He originally had two tails, but it’s a mutation, so 100 years pass and he gets a third tail, and another 100 gives him his fourth. :) he’s 200 years old, tall, lanky as fuck, and intelligent as all shit- thriving absolutely

For Knuckles, he decided to give himself to Chaos, and they merged to form a single being. Literal god of destruction + guardian of the master emerald = dangerous protection over Angel Island

And now I’m thinking about how they’d all react if Sonic, from the present- or in their case, the past

Bad End Future AU-

sonic takes over as the guardian of the master emerald after all his friends die :( 200 years almost entirely alone on angel island has made him very angry. he can't run as fast continuously anymore, just short bursts, but he does have weapons. like a gun. he also Bites :) he ends up raising Silver, and when silver is old enough, Sonic helps him go back in time to save everyone. He goes by Chuck, to make sure his past self and friends don't figure out his identity, whenever Silver talks about him. (he ends up blowing it immediately, he dashes out into the open to save tails out of instinct)

Sonic: Time Restoration AU-

Sonic has joined forces with Shadow and Silver, as The Heroes of Time. Sonic specifically guards the Present. Unlike his two companions, he often uses his time travel abilities, even outside of missions. No one can really keep track of where-or when-he is. However he’s always there when his friends need a hand.
