I feel so bad for Francesca Amewudah-Rivers, people are being so disrespectful and blatantly showing their racism towards her because she is a black women playing Juliet. This is why I wish they would just give black women original characters because whenever they play a specific character they get attacked badly and no one comes out to defend them or protect them from it. Same thing with Z although she is not a darksin woman. She still received backlash for playing Mj. It’s also wild how people expect that man to speak up concerning Francesca but he hasn’t done it with Z either. He is a white man from London who doesn’t have to worry about scrutiny due to his race and, it is just the truth. If fans who love him so much can’t see that then they also have a problem with looking at the reality.
Truth is you’ll never make people happy and sadly people will always find a racial discrepancy even when there’s none.
Tom speaking up has never been a thing and sadly as much as I would want him to just say something and improve I fear he’s just white and complacent. There’s no way you’re supposed to be romantically involved, hell even as a friend and say nothing. Till this day he still remains quiet on everything until we bullied him into that bs of a ig story post that was posted by his team.
I hope this doesn’t cause Francesca to quit and everyone who’s involved in this play give her all the love and support she needs and then some
Collab with the best girl ever (https://t.me/dark_sinnn). I love Darksin's artworks with all my heart, so I was incredibly happy when she agreed to this.
lily is a bad mother in wywm and guess what… YOU DON'T NEED TO READ IT. that doesn't make the fanfic problematic and the feminization of Regulus is ridiculous because first of all there's nothing wrong with that!!
and they want to cancel atyd because Dorcas is lightskin or white (I don't remember) and there are so many people who don't know that she is canonically darksin. and atyd was written in 2017 even fewer people knew about it. there are people who know she is black, but not darkskin. because her official art is not even on the website anymore and in the books it was never mentioned. and i saw them want to cancel atyd too because Dorcas is straight and ??????? why couldn't she be? its a hc
the problem is that they have those who will like and rt and they feel that they are so right because of that
it’s so like… ugh why are thoughts so hard to articulate sometimes? like, i’m not saying we shouldn’t take a look at things that are genuinely racist/homophobic/sexist/transphobic in fics and have a genuine conversation about those things, because we absolutely should. but straight up attacking an author and trying to cancel them for these things is not the way to do it. screaming at the top of your lungs on twitter that this author is clearly a racist is not how you fix the actual problem.
an author used a slur. listen, not good. but she apologized! she’s educating herself and sharing that education with other people! that’s how someone is supposed to react in that situation. but they’ll never be happy with that. so that’s it? someone makes a mistake and that means they’re inherently evil with no way to learn from their mistake and become a better person? the point of pointing out that something is wrong is to create a change. it’s to help someone see that what they’ve done is wrong and help them become better. i think history has proven that chasing people with pitch forks doesn’t actually change anything.
the argument that the feminization of regulus is problematic is absurd. if a story has 3 gay characters, and every single one of them is extremely feminine, i can see you saying, hmmmm i dunno about that, seems like you might be stereotyping gay people. but again that’s a calm conversation we should be having instead of lighting torches. when there are several gay characters in the story and only one of them is extremely feminine, that’s not stereotyping, that’s your character having a personality. men are allowed to be feminine, women are allowed to be masculine, and i really feel like in the year of our lord 2022, we should all fucking know that by now.
last day of the greatest month ever, and imma be honest.
this was probably the most uneventful Black History Month™ i've ever experienced. but that's really just for me, personally.
white people mocking and taunting us even more during the month, diaspora within our people at an all time high, superiority challenges between lightskin n darksin, whose food is better, who should be able to say the n-word.
give all of this and more, i just wanna say... WE ALL BLACK, FUCKIN ACT LIKE IT.
the lightkin fully grown man you keep makin fun of for being 'soft' is just as black as you, the darkskin girl you keep makin fun of for being 'too manly, loud and aggressive' is just as black as you.
we (very rightfully, don't get me wrong) come at yt people for discrimination against us (i am not defending them, trust) when we do it to an insane degree.
all that being said, if you have melanin in your skin and hair that you can't easily run your fingers through, and a beautiful wide nose— happy black history month.
it's 12pm est and still no feeds. julie just did an interview and refused to comment on the paloma situation. the first live eviction of the season is tonight. after seven straight days of egregious bullying and microagressions against the only black woman of a darker complexion in the house. a situation that can be supported by a 22 year long pattern of ostracization of black contestants, particularly (darksin)black women in the house. culminating in one of the worst -- imo -- run HOH's in bb history. there's a twist that the houseguests and the viewers don't understand. the cast is full of flop after flop. racist, misogynistic, narcissistic, bad hair, bad at gameplay, boring. there's only been one self eviction in bb history. it's only Week One. and production has to air this episode in less than 7 hours?
