Aussie Blockchain Startup Menangkan Tantangan Teknisi Billionaire Branson

Power Ledger, startup blockchain yang berbasis di Australia, memenangkan bisnis  Extreme Technology Challenge (XTC) 2018 , Sir Richard Branson  , sebagaimana dilaporkan oleh saluran berita Australia, Detikdax . Tantangannya, yang finalis sebelumnya termasuk  Doctor on Demand dan Vantage Robotics , bertujuan untuk menyediakan para wirausahawan alat yang tepat untuk membantu mereka membangun produk teknologi mereka. Power Ledger menerima dukungan senilai jutaan dolar dalam sebuah upacara yang berlangsung di pulau Karibia Branson akhir pekan ini. Camera Bits is greatly saddened to hear of the sudden passing of photographer Dave Martin, aka "Mullet", and we wish to extend our condolences to his wife Jamie Martin and their children.

Our own Dennis Walker remembers Dave fondly. In his words: 

"Dave and I met in 1996 at Super Bowl XXX in Phoenix, my first Super Bowl and just days before I started Camera Bits.  One of my treasured photos was one that Dave took of me on the field before the game using a Kodak DCS 460 that I was using at the time.  This camera was the 6 megapixel "big brother" to the 1.3 megapixel AP NC2000 used by photojournalists.  Although the two cameras looked nearly identical, the max ISO setting of 80 on the DCS 460 threw Dave for a few moments until I explained that it was not an NC2000 but was a "studio" camera with a "whopping" 6 megapixels.  Dave's comment was something like "well that's completely useless."

  After last year's Super Bowl XLVII in New Orleans, several AP photographers were supposed to meet up at Molly's at the Market after the game.  This was a local watering hole for journalists.  So I went to join them, but only Dave showed up.  This turned out to be my most memorable Super Bowl experience: a one-on-one, two hour chat with the man known as Mullet.  We talked about Photo Mechanic for maybe 5 minutes, then conversation turned to family, past crazy experiences (of which Dave had plenty), fixing up used cars, and Dave's ideas for his camera clamps he was prototyping.  Then Dave gave me a ride back to AP's hotel in his old Mercedes.  I went to bed a happy photo nerd and had dreams of being a real photographer and journalist like Dave.  We will all miss you Mullet."
