Everywhere there are 'Desperate Youth, Blood Thirsty Babes', they are comin' outta the TV On The Radio... This is the debut proper album from the band, after their self-released mini-album 'OK Calculator', described as a "barber-shop" post-punk soul group, their vocal harmonies lending themselves to the style of a "barber-shop" group. They have some of the wash of sound that any shoegaze fan would be familiar with. They formed out of Brooklyn, New York in 2001. Released on 4AD Records (as well as Touch And Go) in 2004, to critical acclaim. Tragedy struck the band when bassist Gerard Smith died in 2011.
