VARIETY MAGAZINE INTERVIEW WITH DES DUHFAUX

Interview conducted by Francis Pulinz

The entertainment industry Has a lot of different "go-to " people When you're trying to make it in the business and or become a notable celebrity. (Talent usually helps). In past times most people who needed entertainment work hired an "agent" to find them the right gigs and in the music industry "managers" were essential for keeping potential gigs and venues interested in hiring certain acts. Then once you become famous, the next most essential thing u need is either the right pr team and or publicist to put your talent and accomplishments on display, to the world. Primarily, planet Earth.

MHI MEAUX HAUS INTERNATIONAL is a PR (public relations) agency that was founded by celebrity PUBLICISTS Suzette Feria & Des Duhfaux. The former colleagues (and Co-CEO$) started the agency from the ground up with basically a handful of celebrities as clients to begin with. Des Duhfaux , who is in charge of the business for zone 3+ 4. And suzette (who is stuck on planet Earth), manages zone 1 +2.

Since this branch of variety mag is situated in late zone 4 , we got in touch with the very private + withdrawn celebrity publicist EXTRAODINARE herself, Des Duhfaux, for a very exclusive interview.

VM: Good to have u here Des, how are things?

DD: things are ok, I'm still stuck here on another planet, after all. But I'm optimistic.

VM: SO, u came from earth, I guess. Sorry about all this.

DD: no problem, when work calls I have to answer. I'm drawn into adventure. As the witch wizard of the northeast, I'm in demand. So as long as it doesn't conflict with my family life, I can stay a little longer to assist.

VM: Let's get to the point. You're a celebrity publicist and Co-CEO of your own PR company. Was that started here or there?

DD: I completed my schooling on Earth. I intermitedley have traveled to and from here and earth to complete the remainder of my professional degrees. I have a bachelor's degree in marketing management from UCLA. A certficate in public relations from UC IRVINE + A MASTERS DEGREE IN PUBLIC RELATIONS/ IMAGE MANAGEMENT FROM CAL STATE FULLERTON. all between zones 2 and 3. Well mostly 3 on Earth.

VM: ok so the celebrity client base. Who are we dealing with here?

DD: um, what do you mean?

VM: MHIS CELEBRITY CLIENTS.

DD: Gwen Stefani, Cole Sprouse, Cameron Diaz, Margot Robbie, Diplo, The white stripes, Timothee Chalamet, Florence Pugh, Carmen Electra, Pamela Anderson, Anthony Karlo, Suki Waterhouse, Bill Skarsgard+ many more. Some of our brands are Origin natural energy, Waikea water, Fenty beauty, nudestix + sapphire sky cosmetics.

VM: Are you ever "starstruck" when meeting new celebs for publicity projects. ?

DD: Barely. I'm pretty used to networking with famous people. I come from a somewhat famous family background as well as my own personal endeavors- to say the least. And client /publicist confidentiality is the MOST important tool when creating promotional packages for celebrities. If any personal info about the celeb leeks that they don't want in the press or public eye, our PR team makes sure it's avoided. Yes, it's a tough job, very hard , but somebody's gotta do it…(laughs).

VM: Let's jump to what I'm reading here about your own entertainment career. Is celebrity publicist Des Duhfaux desiring to become a celebrity herself?

DD: Is that what it says? Ok well yea I'm working on new music under my stage name "Caryn Mixx" . I don't want to give too much away. But it's set to premiere in zone 3 @some point soon.

VM: Cool, so you are a musician too?

DD: my voice is my instrument, + light keyboard as well. So it's set .

VM: Interesting, I'll make sure to check that out. And you mentioned family life, or is that too private to discuss?

DD:: no . Not private, very public actually. I've spoken about my two failed marriages, virginity after rape + being an all around reformed human being that's taking it all in stride.

VM: rape? Sorry to hear that

DD: late years of high school. A student I had home studies with violated me at our designated testing location. I was mortified. Then two days later his older brother showed up + threatened to " bash my head in" if I told anyone. I was scared stiff.

VM: Did the case ever get reported?

DD: I didn't find the courage fast enough. This interview is it's debut.

VM: SO..that's why u feel two marriages failed?

DD: look, I'm going to be quite frank. The traumatic aftermath of rape had an affect on my psyche for roughly 3 yrs. I" revirginized", generated my next set of goals and moved on with my life. Around that point I enrolled in college and met my first husband.

VM: so what was that like?

DD: well mostly emotionless looks of love, "hand holding", & watching old classic films together+ that was about it. No sex.

VM: no sex?

DD: no sex. No trust. Has to be trust, then "relationship notary", and then more trust, then family approval, then possibly another glance at the possibility of intimacy.

VM: I see, ok so then the next marriage?

DD: after the first marriage I went back to working on my public relations internship through UC IRVINE in accordance with my public relations certificate. I met him through the college systems as well. It didn't work out because for some reason men want intimacy with a person they barely know. I'm still baffled as to how holding hands and kissing? Just isn't enough? Anyway, I'm over it.

VM: and you grew up in Burbank, CA?

DD: that's slightly off subject, but, yes.

VM: well is there anything else we should know about Des Duhfaux celebrity publicist+CO- CEO of MHI?

DD: Yea, that I'm from early zone 2 most specifically. Suzette, my partner + I grew up together, same everything. So we have a deep appreciation for zone 2, but, realistically I've been set to 1 and 3 to work on projects for other personas numerous times, so I'm not just involved in the publicity process, I'm a part of the "craft work" and onset process as well, by default.

VM: That's good news, well it was lovely talking to you.

DD: Oh sure, yea, thanks, u2.

GUIDE TO HAVE A GREAT TIME IN MADRID

So First the FESTIVAL, I see a lot of people asking where The F*ck the Festival would take place?? Don’t worry here’s the answer

The Festival is going to be in el RECINTO VALDEBEBAS-IFEMA!!! This year is gonna be bigger than others and IT’S AN OPEN VENUE!!!!

As you can see It’s a little far away from the centre so my recommendation for you is to stay NEAR THE CENTRE, we have really good connections to the Festival so don’t worry (transport would be my next point) 

Others festivals take place in the same venue, here some pics of last year Mad Cool Festival, I think the Coca-Cola Festival will look something like this: 

TRANSPORT

Madrid has good connections so PUBLIC TRANSPORT  is your Friend!!!

First METRO MADRID (The Tube) Line 8 have a stop in the festival called “FERIA DE MADRID” 

You’ll have to go to the station called “NUEVOS MINISTERIOS” and there take LINE 8 

Don’t Forget!! Your Stop is FERIA DE MADRID!!! 

And When The Tube Closed???? You’ll have time!! Metro Madrid opens at 6.00 am and closed at 1.30 am 

What type of ticket I’ll need? You’ll need a card “Tarjeta Multi” it’s rechargeable!! you could use it for the tube, the bus, train. It looks like this: 

You can buy it in the automatic machines in every metro station!! and it cost 2.50 euros

You can put in there: single tickets, 10 travels tickets or TOURISTIC  TICKETS (best option for you I think: YOU WILL NEED A TICKET FOR ZONE 1 Only AND ONE DAY COSTS 8.40 euros, TWO DAYS = 14.20 euros, THREE DAYS= 18.40 euros... the max is seven days)

IMPORTANT: THE AIRPORT SUPPLEMENT IS INCLUDED IN THE TOURISTIC TICKETS!!!

You like art!!! Well, you are lucky we have some amazing museums in the city!!! THE TRIANGLE:

MUSEO DEL PRADO: 15 euros - General entry but you can enter for FREE from Monday to Saturday at 18:00 - 20:00h (the museum closed at 20:00) Sundays - 17:00 to  19:00h 

MUSEO REINA SOFIA: 10 euros - General entry. FREE days: Monday (19.00 to 21:00) W-S (19:00 to 21:00) TUESDAY CLOSED

MUSEO THYSSEN-BORNEMISZA: 13 euros- General entry. ALL MONDAYS FROM 12:00 to 16:00 FREE ENTRY. 

You like HISTORY: 

We have the Royal Palace: Summer to 10:00 to 20:00. 13 euros General entry. FREE: Monday to Thursday (18:00 - 20:00) for EU citizens (don’t forget your ID) I recommend the Gardens because are really pretty. 

The TEMPLE OF DEBOD: an Egyptian temple in Madrid?? Yes, it’s next to the Parque del Oeste, and it’s free too. 

Don’t mind Crowded Places: 

- Go to Plaza Mayor and Mercado de San Miguel, then have a walk to Puerta del Sol!! 

- Have a nice walk to GRAN VIA, there are a lot of shops and One of the biggest PRIMARK in the world is there. (Five floors - open from 9:30 to 22:00 every day)

- Plaza de Cibeles and Palacio de Cibeles. 

Others: 

- Terrace of El Circulo de Bellas Artes in Calle Alcala next to Gran Vía. You would be able to see the city. It costs 4 euros and it’s open from 9:00 to 02:00am) 

- Plaza de España

- Puerta de Alcalá. 

- Park El Retiro: There you could have a nice ride in a small boat (it’s only until 19:00). There you should visit El Palacio de Cristal. (Crystal palace) 

- If you are rich and want to buy some Gucci bags (like Harry jijij) La Milla de Oro is your place. It’s in the neighbourhood Salamanca - Calles Serrano, Ortega Y Gasset, Velazquez... 

- Chueca (Our gay District !!!) is colourful and beautiful. You will have fun there!!

- Want to have a drink on a nice terrace while you swim! Also amazing view of Madrid: 

Hotel Oscar Room Mate (Plaza de Vazquez de Mella, 12) It’s in Chueca and its an IT place to be! You could stay all-day having fun for like 25 euros (M-T) (F-S / 50 euros) 

Hotel Emperador (Gran Vía, 33): M-T = 38 euros / Friday and weekend = 48 euros. 

Gimnasio Gymage (Corredera Baja de San Pablo, 2) Yes, It’s a GYM but also you can have lunch there and go to their terrace. It’s in Malasaña, it's like 15 euros. (and yes I go a lot lmao) (que mamarracha soy lol) 

Have the body to dance and some party after The Festival here some places to go: 

-  Joy Eslava (Calle Arsenal) 

- Kapital (Calle de Atocha) SEVEN FLOORS TO PARTY!!! Different kind of music on every floor. The price is 17 euros! (my crazy years happened here!! lmao) 

- Cocó (Calle Alcalá) you want to dance to reggaeton! Latin music! and electronic!  this is your place! 

- Teatro Barceló (Pachá de toda la vida) (Calle Barceló) 

- El Independance (Calle del Dr. Cortezo) the indie place you have to go! 80′s and 90′s music!! Heaven!! 

- Chá Chá The Club (Calle Alcalá) you want to see our celebs?! possibly you would find them here! (I also go here because like I said I’m a mamarracha)

Isso porque a quinta temporada do Power Couple 2020 da Record está com data de estreia para o mês de abril. Além disso, a emissora já anunciou que está realizando o processo de seleção dos casais convidados.

Nova Apresentadora do Power Couple 2020

Muito se especulava sobre quem seria a pessoa a apresentar os programas [‘Power Couple’ e ‘Canta Comigo’] deixados por Gugu Liberato (1959-2019) na Record, após a trágica morte do artista vítima de um acidente doméstico em Orlando, Estados Unidos.

Pois bem, cogitou-se nomes como Xuxa Meneghel, Marcos Mion, Rodrigo Faro e até Otaviano Costa, atualmente contratado da Globo. Depois de tanto mistério e passados quase quatro meses do falecimento de Gugu, a Record finalmente decidiu um quem apresentará uma das atrações. De acordo com o colunista do UOL, Ricardo Feltrin, Adriane Galisteu vai comandar o ‘Power Couple Brasil’.

Está será a 5ª temporada do programa de casais da Record, e, a princípio, o contrato de Adriane Galisteu com a emissora de Edir Macedo é por obra, ou seja, a apresentadora só recebe enquanto trabalhar, nada de “ano sabático”.

O comando do ‘Power Couple 2020’ marca o retorno de Adriane Galisteu à Record após 20 anos longe do canal. Sua primeira contratação aconteceu em 2000, quando a artista ancorou o ‘É Show’, programa de entretenimento, variedades e auditório exibido até 2004.

Participantes do De Férias com Ex podem estar no Power Couple da Record

Segundo informações divulgadas na mídia especializada, um dos novos casais do reality show da Record TV pode ser o par formado por Yasmin Burihan e Lipe Ribeiro. No programa do canal fechado, a dupla ficou muita famosa pela relação io-io. Ou seja, quando o relacionamento é recheado de idas e vindas.

Vale salientar que os dois participantes se conheceram ainda no terceiro ano do programa. No entanto, Yasmin Burihan e Lipe Ribeiro acabam sendo convidados para integrar a versão do De Férias com Ex que teve a participação somente de celebridades.

O elenco foi formado pelos veteranos: Any Borges, Gui Araújo, Lipe Ribeiro e Stefani Bays, enquanto Cinthia Cruz, Fábio Beltrão, Flávio Nakagima, Hana Khalil, Leo Picon, Mc Rebecca, Rafaela Porto e Túlio Rocha foram os novatos da edição. O programa contou ainda com as participações especiais de Pabllo Vittar e Vitor Kley.

Trajetória de Yasmin Burihan e Lipe Ribeiro no reality show da MTV

Durante a edição De Férias com o Ex Celebs, o casal foi protagonista de diversos momentos de muita tensão e emoção. Isso porque Yasmin Burihan e Lipe Ribeiro brigaram diversas vezes e apresentaram reconciliações quentíssimas. Todavia, Lipe até foi alvo de críticas de outros integrantes, bem como do público que conferia a atração da MTV.

Com o encerramento da atração com antigos casais, se propagou um rumor de possível traição por parte do rapaz. Sendo assim, a possibilidade de contar com um casal tão explosivo pode ser bastante interessante para o Power Couple 2020 da Record na sua quinta edição. Uma vez que as tensões, brigas, pazes e desafios do par tendem a agitar o jogo desde o primeiro dia.

Vale salientar que o casal chamou novamente a atenção nos últimos. Tudo porque Yasmin publicou uma foto no dia de aniversário de Lipe com uma legenda descrevendo o relacionamento dos dois recheados de fortes emoções.

“Estamos longe de sermos perfeitos, mas somos de verdade. Feliz aniversário para o dono de todos os meus estresses, crises de ciúmes, surtos e paranoias, mas também o dono de todos os meus sorrisos. Nada e nem ninguém explica o nosso amor. Eu te amo muito”, escreveu a famosa nas suas redes sociais.

As reações a postagem foram mistas, variando do apoio ao casal até comentários de pessoas em função da descrição de um possível relacionamento abusivo entre os dois. Após as reações e toda a polêmica, Yá resolveu fazer uma nova publicação com o seguinte texto: “é preciso ter elegância para continuar sendo gentil com pessoas cruéis”.

Caso de traição após a participação no reality

Os prováveis participantes do Power Couple 2020 da Record, Yasmin Burihan e Lipe Ribeiro reataram o namoro na edição do De Férias Com o Ex. Na verdade, o rapaz se declarou e pediu diversas vezes para que a relação fosse retomada. Com as pazes feitas no programa da MTV, o casal passou por uma turbulência no final de 2019.

Isso porque Lipe teria sido flagrado beijando uma outra mulher em uma praia do estado de Alagoas. Enquanto o rapaz estava em São Miguel dos Milagres, a jovem estava aproveitando as festas de final de ano em Pipa, no Rio Grande do Sul. Yasmin estava acompanhada de suas amigas do programa.

Mesmo pela internet, algumas amigas de Yá se indignaram com a situação e fizeram diversas publicações nas redes sociais. Logo após o vazamento da suposta traição, Lipe utilizou as suas redes sociais para propor uma reflexão aos seus seguidores.

A publicação estimulava as pessoas a não acreditar no que os perfis de fofoca estavam anunciando. De acordo com Ribeiro, a pulada de cerca não passou de mais uma fake news. De lá para cá, o casal continuou junto e a recente homenagem de Yasmin Burihan no dia do aniversário do namorado deixa claro que seguem juntos e aptos para estar na proxima edição do Power Couple da Record.
