Ranikhet Tour
In the Kumaoni language, Ranikhet is referred to as Rnikhèt. Ranikhet is a hill station and cantonment town that can be found in the Almora district of the Indian state of Uttarakhand. It is situated in close proximity to the town of Almora. The Kumaon Regiment (KRC) and the Naga Regiment both call it their home base, and the Indian Army is responsible for its maintenance and upkeep. In addition, the location of the Military Hospital may be found there. There are two distinct interpretations that may be made of the origin of the name Ranikhet. One story suggests that Padmini, queen of Katuari Raja Dudhan Dev (1180), selected this spot because she desired to study, play, and stay there; hence, the region became known as Ranikhet as a result of this choice. The other reason is that it was the location of many battles and was referred to as Rankshetra, which is a Sanskrit word that literally translates to "the battlefield." In Ranikhet, the Mankameshwar Temple is a well-known and significant monument. The Kumaon Regiment was the organization that was in charge of constructing the temple. You'll find it immediately across the street from both the Shawl Factory and the Gurudwara. As soon as one steps foot inside the temple, they will be greeted by statues of Radha and Krishna, in addition to Ma Kalika and Lord Shiva.
Get in contact with one of our knowledgeable Trip Counselors if you have any questions about the Ranikhet excursions we provide, which are both educational and affordable.

Uttarakhand: A Tapestry Woven with Nature, Adventure, and Spirituality
Tumblr media
Cradled in the majestic embrace of the Himalayas, on the northwest boundary of uttarakhand tour packages from ahmedabad, one realizes that the heart here swells in resonance with the landscapes of yore. Pristine valleys engulfing life-giving rivers flowing from glistening peaks, their snow-capped pyramids piercing the bright azure sky, and history speaks louder from ancient temples—this is Uttarakhand, land of memories. This is the essence that this state promises an unforgettable experience for every kind of traveler.
A Nature Lover's Paradise:
Nature lovers' paradise, Uttarakhand is. Trek through forests alive with diverse wildlife, from majestic Himalayan tahr to elusive snow leopards. Stroll along meadows blooming with wildflowers, like the vibrant rhododendrons in the Valley of Flowers National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Adventure Awaits:
Adrenaline junkies have their dreamland at Uttarakhand, which offers a playground to them. Take a ride on the Ganges River and descend a wave of its rapids, where your heart will get jolted. For those in winter mode, go towards Auli, a pleasantly picturesque ski resort that wraps the valley in the snow-smothered highlands. You have to test your skills on challenging slopes or simply revel in the breathtaking panorama.
A Spiritual Sanctuary:
Uttarakhand is steeped in spirituality. Pay homage at revered Hindu pilgrimage sites like Haridwar and Rishikesh, where the sacred Ganges river flows. Witness the aarti, a mesmerizing evening ritual of lamps offered to the river—a spectacle that will leave you spellbound. Find serenity at serene ashrams dedicated to yoga and meditation, finding inner peace amidst the tranquility of the Himalayas.
Unveiling the Gems of Uttarakhand:
1. The Enchanting Hill Stations:
Uttarakhand boasts charming hill stations, each with its unique character. Mussoorie, the "Queen of Hills," has breathtaking views and colonial-era architecture. For leisure, navigate along the shimmering lake town of Nainital, located on a scenery-lined promenade, or simply sail through a leisurely boat ride. If you're in for a more relaxed getaway, journey to Munnar, a hill station endowed with rolling tea plantations and some truly unforgettable sunsets.
3. A Glimpse into Local Culture:
Attune to the rhythm and charm of the Uttarakhand culture. Discover the art of folk dances, which is different from the style of Delhi and Mumbai: for instance, you can witness the Garhwali and Kumaoni styles. Taste Uttarakhand cuisine that is rich, rustic, and incredibly popular with the locals. Sample dishes like Kumaoni Bhatt ki churma (pounded millet) and Garhwali Aloo Gutke (potato curry) as you savor this country's local flavors.
Beyond the Tourist Trail:
Uttarakhand has secret treasures to be explored. Try out Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary, which provides a home to various sorts of birds and dangling species. Explore the ancient ruins of Kangra Fort, one of the most popular historical treasures. For a completely offbeat experience, visit the peaceful villages of Chakrata or Chopta, which present awe-inspiring natural beauty and peaceful surroundings.
Planning Your Uttarakhand Adventure:
Uttarakhand's charm unfolds throughout the year, but the ideal visit hinges on what you seek in your adventure.
Summers (March-June) are quite comfortable and are the best for sightseeing and adventure. Monsoons (July-September) are painting the land green and create a wonderful view but can create landslides. Winters (December-February) bring the state to a winter wonderland to enjoy snow activities, but some high-altitude areas become inaccessible.
Getting to Uttarakhand is easy. Some of the major airports that connect the state with other parts of India are major points for travel. You can also take a train or bus for a more scenic journey.
Accommodation options abound Offering everything from upscale resorts to affordable guesthouses, it's able to suit all budgets.

A strange travelogue
Ajay and Manisha, left Kathgodam behind and were speeding their way through the mountain roads towards their ultimate destination Binsar. They had left home at around 9 pm last night and it was close to 3 am in the morning and there was still some distance to go. With a quick sip, Ajay finished the last sip of Vodka that he had carried from Delhi, pre mixed in a bottle of Limca. Though driving was fun to Ajay, but these early morning hours were always a bother, Ajay knew that it would take another 4-5 hours to reach the destination and a sense of urgency was dawning upon him.

But Ajay loved the mountain roads too much; the rich fragrance, the dwindling roads, the solitude and the sense of calm would make Ajay return to the mountains again and again. Although the road was climbing the Himalayas but the climb was not too steep and there was hardly any traffic on the road. Ajay was maintaining a good speed, couple of pegs of vodka always made him steadier.

At first sight, the couple could have been dismissed for tourists who had stopped to enjoy the nature. It was not very uncommon for tourists to stop at vantage points where the view was good. But as Ajay’s car approached the couple, he could see that there was something wrong. Although the sky was growing lighter, it was not quite dawn yet and by the light of the head lamps Ajay could clearly see that the couple was in some amount of distress. They were waving their hands frantically gesturing Ajay to stop. Ajay would have stopped anyway for he could clearly see from a distance itself that the couple’s car had crashed into the mountains and they were bruised. Miraculously, however, the bruises were nothing compared to the state the car was in; lucky escape Ajay thought.

Ajay stopped his car and went down to the couple. The couple’s car was beyond repair. Ajay offered the rear seats to Praful and Geeta, offered them a bottle of water and agreed to drop them to the next town. It was 4 am in the morning, there was a chill in the atmosphere outside and some of it had now crept inside the car as well.

Praful had obviously lost control of the steering on the turn and hit the mountain wall at considerable speed. They were waiting for almost 15 mins till Ajay showed up and now they were on their way to the next town. Where they came from and where they were going? Well Praful had a business in Meerut, Geeta belonged to Muzzafarnagar and both of them had got married 3 months back. Apart from their honeymoon this was their first trip together. They were on their way to Mukteshwar.

Geeta went on; their marriage was full of resistance from both sides. Neither Praful’s parents nor Geeta’s parents approved of the marriage. Finally they had to runaway and got married in the courtroom in the attendance of a few friends. Though Praful’s parents had reconciled to the fact, Geeta’s parents severed all relations with Geeta and would not even talk to her. And on top of that now this accident; must be the result of curses of her parents. Manisha could feel that Geeta was very close to breaking down to tears and she turned back to look at Geeta in order to console her.

Geeta had tears alright, but what rolled out of her eyes was not water but crimson blood. No she was not sad, instead she grinned when she saw Manisha’s reaction, who was shivering out of fear. Ajay instinctively looked at the rear mirror, and he too went cold with fear.

Amit and Neha crossed the Kathgodam station, the last railhead on the route and were speeding up the mountains. Headlights fell on a couple who looked distressed and quite evidently had met with an accident. It was 3.30 in the morning and the wind was chilling. Amit stopped the car and offered Ajay and Manisha the rear seat till the next town and Manisha was inconsolable and started narrating her sad story.

Neha looked back in sympathy and it was Manisha’s turn to grin.
