Purple

Based off the secret bosses' soul modes going in reverse order of the soul modes the Undertale bosses use. Red for Toriel, Blue for Papyrus, Green for Undyne, Purple for Muffet, Yellow for Mettaton, Red for Asgore. Jevil only used red soul mode, while Spamton Neo used yellow

[BIG SHOT] has the line "pull the strings and makes them ring" which could be alluding to the fact he's a puppet and his strings, but could also be an allusion to the next secret bosses soul mode as the purple soul traps you to only be on purple strings.

Purple soul mode "traps" the soul. Could tie into the freedom theme.

Green

Based off the secret bosses's souls modes going in reverse order of the soul items in Undertale. Stick and Bandage (Frisk/Red), Toy Knife and Faded Ribbon (Cyan), Tough Gloves and Manly Bandana (Orange), Ballet Shoes and Old Tutu (Blue), Torn Notebook and Cloudy Glasses (Purple), Burnt Pan and Stained Apron (Green), Cowboy Hat and Empty Gun (Yellow), Worn Dagger and Heart Locket (Chara/Red). Again, Jevil only uses red soul mode, Spamton uses yellow soul mode. Since both the soul mode and soul items orders both end with yellow and red, it's hard to tell which of these patterns is true.

Green soul also traps the soul, more than purple soul does as it stops you from being able to move at all, needing a shield of sorts to defend with.

The Shadow Mantle could be the shield.

Green soul is connected with Undyne, who might show up in the next chapter since Toriel called the police.

Possible Connections Between DR Secret Bosses and Party Members

After having seen this post in conjunction with this video.

I thought of a theory/prediction(?) on the nature of the secret bosses (not who or what they are per say but at least an insight into their possible personalities and character foils).As the theory states there are two main “sides” like that of a chess board. The white or light side being the Lighter’s (+ Ralsei and the player) and the black or dark side being the Bosses, the Secret Bosses ,The Knight and Gaster. The main bosses are analogous to the chess pieces sans the pawns as the characters analogous to the Pawns are that of the party members and the secret bosses. As stated in the post linked above Noelle and Kris share traits w/Jevil and Spamton respectively, cliff notes Spamton and Kris are both puppets controlled by external forces i.e. Gaster and the Player,said entity dragging both into desperation and misery after difficult experiences and a emotional and physical separation from friends and family.Jevil and Noelle albeit very different people have very similar reactions to being controlled by Gaster and the Player respectively both give little resistance to their captor and are in denial of the gravity of the situation sometimes to the point of trying to spin it as a good thing to spare themselves of the pain ex.Noelle w/getting stronger,Jevil w/“freedom.”(Also Spamton has angelic features in his NEO form and regularly mentions heaven meanwhile Kris is associated w/the inverse their red eye’s,horned headband,occult interest’s and their lightbringer nickname courtesy of CK. Noelle is referred to as angel by Spamton in snowgrave and by herself in on the Ferris wheel etc,Jevil’s item’s all include the term devil within them and, well his name is literally a fusion of Joker and Devil).This begs the question of if the other secret bosses will share traits w/other party members. If these 7 party members are as follows Kris, Noelle, Susie, Birdley, Catti,Jockington and Ralsei.For example if The Vessel is a secret boss may-haps their foil is Ralsei as he may be the Darkner former of Kris’s headband much like how the vessel is a discarded creation of Gaster’s both created w/the sole purpose to serve their creator.Considering the fact Ralsei seems to know of the player’s presence w/in Kris maybe he finds a way to transfer the soul to The Vessel or maybe he and The Vessel swap places the Vessel being used by the player while Ralsei becomes an antagonist (sorry for the long post I might make a part 2 if I get ideas).

Meet Mike Standchire an idea for what i believe the secret boss of chapter 3 is most likely going to be

His catchphrase is *FALL DOWN THE RABBIT HOLE" because he's a Cheshire cat but also he uses blue soul in his battle (I'm bring this up because of the theory that the secret bosses catchphrase are related to the soul abilities, like jevils "I CAN DO ANYTHING" because the red soul can do anything, and spamtons is self explanatory) with the fall down relating to always falling to the bottom of the box after you jump.

Also the phrase "down the rabbit hole" can relate to going very deep into something or ending up somewhere that you should be which relates to the secret boss quest line very well

Made them wear the coat on the chair because during the spamton sweepstakes this is where you encouter their eyes so the chair is related to them in some way

I was going to give them a relation to the "ice palace" but after the newest newsletter revealed the potential of holiday house being chapter 4, i figured I'd be more likely related to that dark world instead of the tv themed one

This part of the valentines day letter is why I made them a sans parallel, them having some sort of 4th wall breaking ability that their nonchalant about (like just straight up asking "hows delta rune" or calling us weird for responding to the letter out loud), them talking about putting on your coat or your face (because a Cheshire cat can separate it's face from its body so it could theoretically put on its face and a coat, like the blue coat on the chair), and lastly the letter ending with the walking away sound before disappearing like how in undertale sans will randomly walk off screen before teleporting somewhere else.

It sure their's a lot that's going to be incorrect about my guess but this is (in my personal opinion) what it think may be close to the canon chapter 3 secret boss

Bonus: the background of the fight would most likely be some trippy weird thing

I'll reblog this when the actual chapter comes out to see how close i was (can't wait to find out that it was actuality a rotten piece of bread instead)

Ok the poll hasn't actually ended yet but it's definitely trending in a Cool Deltarune Idea™ direction, so here we go

Let's think about this with layers of reality. We're at the top, then there's Undertale. Gaster's weird thingamabob that got him shattered was Deltarune, an unnatural side branch of reality jutting out. Because of its properties as fucked up nonsense, you can much more easily create further growth, these ones another layer down. Dark Worlds as we typically see them. As for the Gaster falling in, I think there's another detail. He didn't stumble or trip, he was pulled by Deltarune Gaster who was up to his own fucked up science shenanigans. Since I don't want to be constantly saying full titles, they're now UTG and DRG. Ever noticed how some events in dark worlds seem to have happened before the fountain opened, despite being too specific to be the kind of metaphor transition often seen? I think they have potential existence, all of the ones opened and all others as well. Half realities. Normally not much weird shit can happen because they're disconnected, but there's an exception. UTG got shattered across space and time, so he can do whatever. I think he's making the secret bosses Cuckoo For CoCo Puffs for, I dunno, fucked up science purposes. Or kicks and giggles, being shattered across space and time sounds boring. Meanwhile, I think DRG is the Roaring Knight, probably motivated by some sort of science shenanigans.

I have little to no proof, but it sounds cool. Please tell me if you find evidence for or against it, or ask questions.

Have you ever done your own prediction of the next chapters of Deltarune? Like main boss or secret?

really boring answer, but nope, i'm not super interested in speculation, just for the fact that the game is going to be 5 chapters and i only have 2 chapters worth of puzzle pieces. i think from this point in the series we can predict some general themes, trends, and internal logic, but i've never really been one for making my own theories or future expectations, but i do like reading those of other people! i kind of like the feeling of having no idea what's coming next.

What are your predictions for Deltarune Chapters 3-4 ?

Hmmm, let's see...

I think Susie and Ralsei are going to work out very quickly that Kris was the one to create this fountain. Susie's going to brush it off like "Okay yeah I get why you would, it's okay we'll just have fun and seal the fountain when we're done anyway!" and Ralsei will try and act like it's not a problem, when he clearly is bothered by it, and this will start to build up some tension between Ralsei and Kris.

I am open to Toriel being another side party member, less convinced yet that we'll be seeing another adult like Undyne or Napstablook there as well. I do not think we'll be getting a Snowgrave repeat where Toriel is manipulated into killing Undyne or anything like that. If there's a weird route continuation here, it'll be handled very differently.

I don't think we'll be seeing more of the Dreemurr household in the dark world; it'll just be focused on what's on the TV. We've already got a few possibilities for areas: a cooking show, the weather report, and the monster movie, plus we do keep getting hints that the western show may show up in some capacity.

To that end...hopefully a Susiezilla sequence for the monster movie part!

Unsure of what Mike's role will be in here, but I'm anticipating Tenna as the main big bad for this Dark World.

I don't think anyone has guessed the secret boss for chapter three yet, and I don't think anyone will. Thusfar for secret bosses, there's been no hints of them from other places, and you have to go out of your way to find them. Their function as Darkners made from discarded/forgotten objects makes sense in hindsight, but isn't obvious from the get-go. All we know is that we'll need the shadow mantle for a future secret boss, and that that's missing now.

At the end of chapter three, Asriel is going to call on the landline phone and talk to Toriel briefly, but WE won't get to actually communicate with him and it's going to drive me bonkers.

We know less about chapter four, except for some very basic things...Susie and Kris have a few scenes talking out in the light world, and it's raining some of that time. It could either go the direction of an all-light world chapter, or another dark world they explore the next day.

Assuming it's the latter and there's another dark world (which makes more sense to me), I feel the best location options are the hospital, the church, and Asgore's flower shop. If there's a thread started in chapter three getting into more of the Dreemurr family history and Kris's place in it (which does seem to be the case), Asgore's shop seems the best bet to continue that thread next, so I'm going to predict Asgore's shop for chapter four.

Since that's a flower shop and all, a more Alice In Wonderland sort of theming seems likely, with more of a jungle/wild area that the Fun Gang has to explore compared to the city and sound stage areas of previous chapters.

I am expecting Catti (and potentially also Jockington) to be future Dark World partners, and either chapter four or chapter five seems a good option for that.

I think Catti is necessary as a partner 1) because of her occult history with Kris, 2) her focus on protecting Noelle, who I could see showing up in the Dark World again as early as chapter four or five, and 3) her clearly having beef with Susie.

If we're dealing with Kris's family history through chapters 3 and 4, I can see that then going into more of Susie's backstory and whatever is going on with her family. I get the feeling that Catti knows some secret about Susie that makes her dislike her more than just "she stole Jockington's hat once", and that will need to be resolved in conjunction with learning more on Susie's situation.

Every day in-game that big-headed blue bird monster is going to reveal another shelf in the second floor of the library, which will slowly give more worldbuilding lore, and it's going to be maddening just getting those little crumbs of info one at a time.

We'll be getting more Knight hints, but not a real reveal until chapter five.
